Hey just wondering if there is a different sms viewer to the custom one in TF3D. Something similiar to the iphone one would be pretty cool.
Solution: Buy an Iphone.
there are a few on www.pocketcm.com - however htctoucher hasn't made them for the HD I've been looking for the same thing. There are a few things here and there that Apple has done well, where WinMo 6.1 still lacks. I'm sure if you give it some time - someone will develop it. Just be patient, or ask those who you see developing different apps and such, and see if they can be pursuaded by some sort of donation
Good Luck!

This doesnt look bad. But will this work with tf3d?
just realised that it costs...anything free?
Yeah... smiley sms new version has a nice threaded interface.. and it skins the notifications too as well as other nice features.... I find it a little fiddly, personally... and it needs updating, I think. But it might be what you're after.

I dont think there is a way to split it. it's just like that in newer rom versions.
Maybe you want to try Palm threadded application, its pretty cool...
The palm threaded app is wicked nice. I was always disgusted how my 8525 handled messages.

here u go. just don't use the automatic settings if u don't have at&t.
I've read the thread, but I still don't understand what this does. I've never had a Palm, or anything other than PPC's. I use an 8525.
I would love to see the text messaging improved. What does this do?
I really learn a lot from this forum.
Thanks,
Mona

This is the Palm Threaded Messenger. Chat style SMS and MMS.
It was taken from the Palm 700WX (I think), which is a WM5 Palm Treo on Sprint.
I am using it now on my 8525, running Black Majik and Radio 1.47.
Hope This Helps,
Jim
how do i uninstall this palm treaded sms?
I couldn't remove the Palm Threader. I had to manually delete the files. I installed the Shogun version (which is conisderably smaller) and seems to work just fine. The Palm one is 4Mb. The Shogun cab is less than 1Mb. And it removes without issue.
ive uninstalled the The Shogun cab. but its still there. how can i remove it?
Thats funny with teh at&t rom that the pandora kitchen is based on the MMS and SMS is seperate and I would like to join them again, if I use the htc today screen and clck on the email button it takes me to MMS now its lame

Difference...
What is the difference between shogun_cingy_Threaded.cab and the palm app besides the size?
I tried to remove the palm app but it appears to still be there.
Where are the files for the palm app?
For those of you who are playing with WM6.1 have you been messing with the threaded txt? I have used the troe version for so long I admit I miss some stuff.
Mainly the new threaded app doesnt tell me how many characters I have typed so I don't know when I have went over the 160 limit.. I have also noticed that sms backup doesn't seem to work correctly it backs up my txt messages and when I restore them they r missing and not threaded.
Another thing I like about threo threaded is MMS/SMS are all together instead of seperate..
Last thing is the txt don't have dates next to them. They have time but no dates. I like to scroll back and know what day and time something was txt to me.
Anyone else got any complaints?
Maybe some of these things can be corrected with a addon or something.
you can see how many characters at the upper corner.
I two think PALM did a better job.
I agree
Me myself being a Treo 650 owner and a hacked threaded sms user on my 8525 would have to agree the WinMo 6.1 threaded sms falls short.
No smilies
There is a short delay when sending msgs
No timestamp(with dates)
When restoring from PIM backup msgs are missing/ out of order....I can only see the msgs I've sent not the msgs I've received.
This may sound like a little nit-pickery going on but hell M$ has had a lot of time to get this minor detail right....

You can't be too surprised that MS half-assed this as they have half-assed every other Windows Mobile product for the last 5 years. MS doesn't care about Windows Mobile. Sad, but true.
I'm already messin with the ripped treo app again since it combines MMS/SMS together but the HTC Home Plugin shortcuts don't work after I install it..
Something simple so I'm gonna try another version of the htc today plugin and hope that it works..

I have a Wizard, but I think this will help you anyway.. You have to create a shortcut to \Windows\messagingapp.exe. I think currently, the HTC shortcuts (and even the button for me) was set to messaging.exe. After you create the shortcut for it and add it to your start menu, you should be able to map it to the button.
hi developers and all
i feel not good to start new thread but i thought its what "Blackstone is missing", i searched all around but i guess there is not "as such" finger friendly email application for htc touch hd (e.g sms-chat for sms has being tremendously appreciated) would be great even though its not the necessity of the this amazing device in fact would make it even more complete.
Thanks and many thanks if we could get one asap.
cheers..
Finger friendly email application?

As far as I remember my previously installed 6.5, the implemented e-mail prog does't significantly differ from the 6.1 version regarding finger friendliness. So no need to change your ROM.
I dont think it differs at all. Still feels and looks like 90s

that and a text messaging application. manilla goes very deep now compared to its older versions so i wouldnt be surprised if the new version of touch flow 3d comes with this. think how the blackstone shipped with the winmo calendar and contacts and see how the topaz and Rhodium have far better, HTC programs.
I think that way they will integrate with touchflo too, but no one knows how long we could be waiting. Anyone know when the newest HTC devices are being released?

Why don't you try it? It's a big cab and it has a limited (15 days?) trial.
I ran it a little on my TP and went back to touchflo, it is nice though, definitively worth trying!

Plus you can toggle from TF3D to SPB when you want...

The calender is WAY better than the Touch Flo, but other than that, it is just personal preference.
I think SPB shell is much better, due to the ability to customize. Pretty active community as well, meaning a steady supply of new widgets and customizations. Plus it's easy on the battery.
Definitely recommend the 15 day trial.
Since there are no custom roms for the CMDA version I currently use it. I prefer it over touch flow as you can customize it alot more and it uses alot less memory than TF3D does. It has a nice interface and it's fun to use if you get bored with TF3D or regular WinMo 6.1. If you are resourceful enough, you can use it for more than the trial.
tried SPB Mobile Shell,it's gorgous,of course it's better than Malina TouchFlo3D,I like it so much.
but i had to uninstall SPB Mobile Shell, the reason? it is not good at organizing calls and SMS,when there is miss call,SPB Mobile Shell only shows it for a while, then there is no indication you can see that there was a miss call.
this is terribly bad management.
IMHO it was worth it prior to TF3D as plain Windows Mobile 6 was pretty boring.
Now however its kinda like the old guy at the club.
I think touchflo looks nice and clean....BUT, mobile shell is crazy on the personnalization. ? 6 pages for personnalization + weather total of 17 pages with contacts and others .....I love it !
Take a look, it's sence la révolution v2 theme

I tried it for day. But I like TF3D better. It's just simpler to me.
Here ya go ! It's in french but if you look around in the posts you will find someone who made a english copy, or just altered a few files to make it english.

Looking forward to that, I'm always changing and opened to new ideas !
Touch Flo has some serious usability problems.
Email and text messaging for instance.
If you want to check those it is a 3 step process most of the time.
SPB did a really good job making it basically a one touch method.
The eye candy is not as good and the calendar needs work but overall its faster to get things done with basically no lag.
The facebook integration IMO is better as well.
Worth the money.
I installed this theme and nothing is displaying correctly. Any ideas on what went wrong/ It seems like nothing is centered correctly.

I haven't had this issue at all. My notifications stay until I view them.
MS3 is always the first program I install on my phones. Love it, can't live without it. I live on the lifestyle screen, customized just how I like it.
I tried it a couple of days ago, and I guess I'm just getting old. There was a LOT of customization that you could do with it but I just didn't feel like going through all that to get it the way I wanted it. Out the box, I still couldn't get what I was looking for. I switched back to TF3D, but that's not to say that one is better than the other. It's really personal choice. I got pretty much all I need with a few tweaks and TF3D, but if I get bored, the Hero skin for SPB MS3 is looking really good.
Does anyone have any idea why when i install this theme it makes everything on my screen jibberish?

I haven't personally installed the theme, I just googled it to see what came up. Try googling it (sence la révolution v2 theme) and looking it up from another website. There are a ton of spb mobile shell theme web sites. There are bunch on here as well.
Edit...Actually, here is the info on here about it. I was bored and searched it. Check this out.

Everything you are looking at so far is just for the standard WM sms interface. What you need to do is skin the sense messenger files
im sure there must be a way, but isnt the HTC buble one almost similar enough? whats the ibggest diference in the iPhone one?
If you mean HTC Sense messaging, I use this one and it might be what you're looking for. It will take some reading and I'm not sure if it's in .cab form or not, but it's worth a look. I love using it and never use any other messaging client.
