hTY Q5 (AKA Hantel Q5) moding - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I just purchased this phone and after extensive searching was unable to find any information regarding modifying the ROM.
This Quad Band Phone has the following features;
2.8" touchscreen
TI OMAP 1030 (ARM926T)
128 Rom 64 RAM
WM6.0
GPS
WiFi
Bluetooth 2.0
GPRS Edge
2Mp Camera
Microsim slot that supports up to 4GB T flash Card
I was wondering if there were some generic modding tools / instructions to extract and modify the ROM.
I primarily want to do this because the WM6.0 OS does not seem to be complete. e.g. the HKLM/Software/OEM/PhoneSetting key is not there and when added with the key ShowTimeZonePage there is no change. (this was done manually and with the HTC Registry wizard
I would also like to trim down unneeded programs to maximize the storage space and perhaps add the TF2D to the ROM.
TF2D installed perfectly on this device however takes the majority of my RAM limiting what I can install in there.
I read somewhere that this was an HTC Diamond Clone. While I do see the simular design I doubt the hardware is the same. Even still I have to ask. would the HTC software and ROM's work with this Phone?
One last question. Would it be possible to upgrade the OS to WM 6.1 using an existing ROM Image? I doubt it but had to ask. I am sure that I will have to dump the ROM from the phone and use that image to edit.
Please let me know your thoughts. Good or bad.
I hope to be able to modify this phone and if not that is ok because it is still a good phone as is. I was just hoping to get more out of it.

i have the same phone
hey, i have the same phone ... did you found anything about modding it ?

I was able to dump the ROM however since part of it is SRPK encoded I was unable to do anything with it.
I Have a more detailed thread on what I was able to accomplish going here

If you get any farther please share.

I Found the Rom for WM6.1

Just reading through the forum here. ggeisler, any luck with that WM6.1 ROM?

HTY/Hantel Q5 - TouchFlo 3d (manilla)
Does anyone know if the new TouchFlo 3D Manilla (as seeon on the HTC Touch Diamond) works on tihs phone? and if so, any particular place I can I can find it to install it on the Hantel Q5 WM6?

Can someone tell me more about this device and it's InfraRed port
I want to know is this the CIR infrared port, so that u can use the device also as a remote controller for your television at about 2 meters distance?
Can someone please try this, I want to know this fact before buying one...
Can you recommend this phone for buying?
Thnx

Your best bet is to pose the question to the vendor on this one. Atleast you'll know for sure, otherwise be refunded if any information on the device that is inaccurate after purchase. Hail to eBay and PayPal protection! Seriously though, if the decision to buy this phone is based on a condition of using it for a remote control for your TV, you're best off not buying this device. Anyhow, I`m still waiting for my order of this device to arrive. I`ll test and let you know, but from the specs I read, it didn`t note a CIR infrared port. Anyone?

There is no infrared on this phone that I am aware of. Perhaps other model variants have one.
I have not had a chance to play with the ROM yet but as soon as I have a chance I will try to load it and post back here with the results.

yes it works but I have only been able to get UPDATE 19 to work and it was verry slow. (ultimately had to remove it) you can install everything into memory fine but you will have very little space left on the device. If you install anything on the SD Card it will be to slow to use.

Can someone already confirm if the hty q5 has cir or not....
the respones i got from ebay sellers:
*bestplace4you says it has no infrared at all, de factory is still developing it...
*www.tomtop.com says it is the short range infrared that has to be aimed directly
*light_wholesale says it is with the strong infrared signal (cir)
so still no view on this....
can someone bring the light to this topic...

NO IR at all
I have the device in my hand, nothing on it looks like it has an ir emitter.
I am sure tomtop is confusing this Q5 with another phone
this one has;
GPS
Bluetooth
Quadband (some models have triband so be careful you may need 850Mhz in some locations)
Edge
2MP Camera
WiFi
WM6 (hopefully upgradable to 6.1 still trying)
TF Card slot capable of up to 4GB (tried 8GB and only read 4)
But still no ir port.
Windows mobile has settings for ir but the hardware just is not there.
so one more time, I can confirm that there is no ir on this phone!
Tha last phone I had with ir sucked using as a remote. I ended up replacing the ir emmiter because the one that was in it was just to weak. the new emmiter worked better however the wavelengths transmitted via ir are not used by all remote controls.
If you want a remote go buy a remote. Using you phone is not the best option.

hey, mine has a 8gb microsd ... and it reads it all

Ahh, Sorry to hear about the perfomance, was really looking forward to getting the interface on this device with smooth operation. One thing to note though, and this is something that I inquired about with the Windows ROM versions, is that my device came installed with Windows Mobile 6.1. I wonder if that would make a difference at all. Anyway, No big deal really. Right now my challenge is to get the GPS working. Keep getting the "No Valid GPS signal" etc.. and I've tried it everywhere.. suggestions? (sigh) Anyway, Thanks for providing me the link for U19, I'll give it a go and see what happens.

This message simply means that is has not locked onto a GPS Satellite signal yet. My phone has taken as long as 10 min to lock on (when indoors). It is significantly faster when outdoors.
FYI
COM: 5
Baud: 4800
(If using TomTom choose "Other NMEA GPS reciever")
If your phone came with WM6.1 would it be possible for you to dump an image of it for all of us with 6.0?
I have been trying to get the Image provided by matagatoz with no success.
I believe that na external program was used to first update the bootloader before updating the ROM. since I nether have this program or the updated bootloader all my attempts to upload this image have failed.
I have even attempted a SD card install but have not found an appropriate combination of file name of image, or key press combo for updating
I found that holding down Power and the End Call button resets device to factory defaults. Holding the end call and pressing the reset does the same thing. I have not found any other key press combination's that do anything else.

Update
Did you try to reboot it using Power + circle button, or turning it on with that combination... is supposed to load teh image file into rom from SD card with that

Any clue as to what to name the image?
I have tried your key combo (reset while pressing circle) and the device shuts off and is unresponsive (nothing on screen) until it is reset again (will not power back on)
I think we may be on to something I think we just need the correct file name.
Currently I have tried;
HTC.nbh
HTY.nbh
ELFIMG.nbh
ELF0IMG.nbh
UPLOADER.IMG

O2 XDA IIs, unleashed.

Hello people
I just got a new XDA IIs from O2.
This thread will hopefully serve purpose to all other new users of the XDA IIs as well.
I just got it and wondering how I can get the best of it like all you lot. You all seem to know quite a lot about it.
Here are the details I managed to pull out from it.
ROM version: 1.31.00 WWE
ROM date: 12/03/04
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExROM versiom: 1.31.139 WWE
Windows Mobile 2003 SE
Version: 4.21.1088 (Build 14132)
Processor Intel(R) PXA263
Bluetooth for Windows CE
BT-PPC/PE Version 1.0.0 Build 3500
I beleive I need to update this to the latest of whatever is out there. I dont know what good they would do to the PDA either.
From reading some of the posts here on the forum, I managed to find out about Battery Pack Pro v2 and ewallet. These are the only 2 software I installed. Oh yes, I got hold of serial keys for both of these so anyone who needs the serials, your problem is solved. Just sent me a msg.
Futhermore, I have installed the GPRS monitor which I cant find much use of.
Other software:
Skype
Macromedia flash player
FonixVoiceDial
I have beebn browsing on the GPRS alot as well, I would apreciate confirmation that GPRS on o2 is free.
I was wondering how to upgrade the windows media player 9.
As you all can see, I just got it and trying to get the most of it. Any help would be apreciated. All the newbies check the thread as much as possible, someone is bound to help.
I just purchased a backup copy of tomtom 5 from ebay for a few quid (not original apparently). He is shipping it soon. The guy claims its unlocked etc. I hope I can make it work. Any advice?
I will purchase an SD card and bluetooth receiver soon for tomtom. Anything I need to know before I do ?
I was wondering what games I can put on it as well. I can come up with so many questions. I have been looking at other posts as well. For instance, fixing the camera drivers for better picture quality and playing an MP3 as a ringtone. These threds are started where the problem arises rather than how to do it from scratch, so a bit lost there.
I am just looking for some free advice. God bless.
First off ditch the O2 rubbish that came with the phone ( the active interface) it will reduce the number of times it crashes - hard reset then when prompted select Corporate user and enter 0506 as the key. As for TT5 it works fine with my O2XDAII2 but NOT with bluetooth GPS - I use bluetooth for my headset and found it terminated the GPS when I hang up from a call - now using a wired GPS and BT headset its all fine. As for MP3 as a ringtone put it on the PDA nav to it in file explorer tap and hold then from the pop up box select "set as ringtone" - works fine for me. You do have the latest firmware / OS as far as O2 is concerned, others can comment if this is any good or not. One other tip if when you make a call or answer an inbound there is no one there - i.e. you can't hear anyone, select bluetooth on then off and re-make the call - don't know why it does this as its real anoying - Finally had two bills from O2 since I got my XDA and neither had any charge pertainin to the use of GPRS, and I was using it but not too much as I use WIFI its quicker and free in my local pub!! mike
Hey and thanks for responding.
So you reckon a hard reset wout fix the crashes eh, I'll have to try that, just that I installed a lot of stuff on this and would need to purchase an SD card to do all the backup. All in good time though.
I tried out what you said about navigating to the MP3 file and then holding down choosing SET AS RINGTONE thing, there is no such option on my set. Maybe some sort of driver needs to be installed?
Thanks for the tip for the GPS wired set. I will definitely go for that. I am using the Nokia bluetooth headset, do you think I should switch to Jabra BT250?
Can anyone comment on the ROM updates?
What is Radio? What does that mean?
Alitech,
Have a read through this first:

radio is the software that turns the pda into a mobile fone, also functions the bluetooth, tho i am led to beleive that, so someone correct me if i am wrong,
you are on o2's rom of 1.31.00 WWE, you seriously need to upgrade, but not on an o2 rom, i would suggest an upgrade to 1.40, but only if you dont mind playing with it, cos first timers tend to need help after they cannot get it to startup again, lol, many a time i have helped people after this, lol, but imate 1.40 is a good rom, which i use and it is as stable as it is ever going to get, there is no o2 rubbish, altho i did like it, it is pointless when it creates more harm than good. bluetooth will work better, but only for sending files and so on..... as it will upgrade to BT 3900. oh and wm10 which is an added bonus,
i have heard on the other hand that people have had problems with this rom, but so far, ive had it about 2-3 months now, and its never given me a problem!!!..so best to read wiki and browse the forums for 1.40 rom questions.
if you decide to upgrade to a better rom, and need help, just ask us on here and we will be happy to help.... or pm me and i sort you out.....
joey. 8)
Thanks for your offer joey. I will definitely send you a pm once i have read all that needs to be read. I will check out everything in detail.
I dont think any other phone compares to these customizable mofos. We rule.
I have found the O2 interface makes the IIs very unstable. There are threads that give details of how to remove it, but I have attached a text file giving the sequence. This does not need a hard reset at any stage, so you can keep all the software you have already loaded.
If you do at any time need to hard reset the O2 interface is automatically reloaded and so you will need to go through this process again.

Give up here is the text instead!
O2 Active GUI removal
O2 seems to have been trying to make it more difficult to remove it this time, but once you get it cleared out the unit operates a lot faster.
1) Remove "connection.exe" in the "Windows/startup/ folder
2) Remove "xpdr_02" in the Windows/fonts/ folder
3) soft reset
4) Unistall "O2 Active UI"- note this will fail, but it gets rid of some items
5) Soft reset
6) Either from your PC, using ActiveSync or on the XDA IIs using file explorer, remove the entire "Mobile Solutions" folder from the windows/ folder.
7) Unistall "O2 Active UI" again - which again will fail, should this time advise program removed but again will indicate some items not removed
8) Remove the entire "ms" folder from the windows/ folder which should now be empty.
9) Soft reset
10) Check "remove programme" in settings to make sure that o2 active UI no longer appears in the list
11) Clear at last, well not quite. There is still a registry entry lurking that can be removed using "remover" or similar.

A multitude of issues

Hey, I just got a Pda2k and I was wondering about a lot of different things
1.) Is there a MMS feature for this phone, cause it didn't come with it
2.) Is there a program that will allow me to have different Rings for each different person that calls me.
3.) Will overclocking cause any temperature problems like it would in a regular computer
4.) Is it possible to upgrade to WM5.0 using a Infrared connection and a wall charger
5.) I read about a photo ID feature, do I have to download the program and install it to the phone?
6.) Does this phone have Speaker Phone?
7.) The keyboard seems to be a little loose, is there any way to fix that?
8.) If my main battery goes dead, is there a way for me to use the back up battery?
Thanks in advance
1. its there. go to messaging application
2. try mortring(use search)
3. you can overclock to as much as 524MHZ or something. BTW, the unit is quite speedy. why do you need to overclock. It will just impact the battery life.
4. you have to use the included cradle to upgrade to WM5
5. its by-default installed(unless you have cooked/modified your ext-ROM)
6. yes, when talking to someone, just press the talk(green) button for 3 secs
7. known issue. I have put a transparent tape on the keyboard to ensure commensurate amount of friction. this has helped it from getting loose(at-least it works for me)
8. no
Thanks a lot. That answered alot of questions. Uh, I have a few more to throw at you though
I bought this one used and I he told me that her used the ExtROM program, so the MMS messagin is gone. Is there a way to restore this program?
Is there a place where I can buy an extra copy of WM2003SE, cause I'm not sure if this has it. Would upgrading or reinstalling WM2003SE repair my MMS?
And what does the back up battery do?
(Oh, I wanted to overclock my system to see if I can get full speed out of my PocketGBA and PocketSNES. I have a spare battery)
you dont need to 'buy' wm2003se as the upgrades are freely avaliable from this site and your telecom.
However like all upgrade you need an sd card (complicated) or a cradle.
Could you give me a link to an Guide to installing WM2003SE and the files I'd need to do it.

Probelm with WiFi

Hello there,
What I Have: Att 8525 Herm100
Rom: Att's Mobile 6
Everything is stock but the extended life battery
The problem I am having is when ever I try to activate my WiFi the phone doesn't do anything. I am not sure if there is a wifi card or not but that's want I want to know. I have tried everything from activating it in com manager to going into the settings and activating it manually and nothing happens it acts like I didn't even hit the button to activate it. Is there a wifi card in the phone or is it integrated on the motherboard in the phone. Note: I bought this phone off e-bay and the wifi never worked when I received the phone.
I am new here and if there is a post about this already I am sorry.
I hate it when that happens.
To begin, there were two ATT OEM WM6 roms relevant to the 8525 that I noticed deep in the bowels of XGA.
I chose the later file (higher revision numbers) I found it here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
From comm manager when I click the tower button on within a second the spinning windoze icon shows something is happening. It then starts "sniffing" for my preset wifi connection (ATT supplied 2wire portal 802.11g).
Now, if yours does not show the spinning windoze working icon when you turn on wifi? There obviously is a problem. This could be software, or hardware related (duh). If there is no error message related to "wifi is not an option, unavailable, or screwed" then my first guess is there is something missing or damaged in the ROM update that was applied to your device. As far as I know all 8525 (herm100) were shipped with wm5. It had been mentioned in the volumes of xda that the first AT&T WM6 rom was a little buggy. Try the later released AT&T WM6 update.
It was a run file so no muss no fuss. Sync the phone run the update from the pc, three minutes later the phone is flashed to ATT WM6 professional.
You could take it to a ATT shop? But, I think that without a doubt they would hand it back and say you need a new phone with a 20 year contract and 3g data plan even Obama would blush at.
Try the hard reset. take a picture of the startup screens so you have the numbers and see if the wifi startup is working after the reset. If not then compare the numbers to the above mentioned roms. If the indications are you have the first issue of WM6 from ATT try flashing the second release. If that still fails then your device could indeed have a hardware problem.
The wifi is indeed built into the system and if that chip on the board is not working it could be a overly expensive problem. Possibly a shop has a working board they would swap out cheap? Otherwise, it is a fun phone you can keep notes on, run gps software if you have a bluetooth gps receiver and software like tomtom.
To be honest the wifi on my 8525 has been convenient when around the house to check the local weather radar when I hear a thunder outside, or browse headlines from the porcelain room or even leave messenger turned on incase a gamer friend is looking for someone to get shot up in a game.
I have used the live search voice thing to amaze the neighbors once. But, the limited range of wifi is a real drawback to how truly wonderful that addition could be.
HELP Please! Wi-Fi not working!!!
Hi to XDA all users !!!
MY Hermes - HTC TyTN [Herm200]
I bought HTC Hermes myself year ago.
there was flashed a WM5.0, I've just downloaded from here HARD SPL & WM6,1 (Custom) Flashed.
Wi-Fi will works on WM5.0.
Well here I am at 6.1 flashed and now is not working Wi-Fi. When i pressed Power ON - loading long and nothing happens.
Other methods are also tried on Commanager and Settings - but did not help.
What do I need to do my dear.
HELP!
Thank you for your attention!
Hi Nurk.
Since the wifi worked on wm5 but failed after the 6.1 flash. I would guess the problem is in the 6.1 components. You might start with contacting the kitchen rom you employed for WM6.1 thread and see if this has happened to others. Next step would be to check the radio rom version. I did see on xda an assortment of Radio roms.
If your not totally in love with the current rom you have flashed? Try another 6.1 or even a 6.5 and see whats poppin.

New XDA Zest firmware

There's a new Zest firmware available for download from http://www.my-xda.com/. The filename is Xda_Zest Firmware Update_V7.7.0S.WWE20.00_M4.6.5.P7_V2.1.4 GBR20, which seems to be updates to most of the roms inside the zest. It's installing at the moment, and the upgrade interface on the phone is displaying "GalaxyMini5 Eboot (3.33.0). Since this appears to be a codename for the P565, I guess this is more evidence that the XDA Zest is simply an underclocked P565 and more evidence that P565 firmware may well work on it.
Warning, this firmware does not appear to contain the O2 menu software, or the free GPS software that comes with the phone (although maybe the latter can be re-installed from the SD card). Shame - I rather liked the O2 menu interface.
what improvements does it have? Is it actually worth upgrading?
Thanks.
The only things I can see that I don't remember seeing before are a couple of new or updated control panel entries. Video calling is probably the really important one.
You seem to lose the RSS reader, the O2 auto settings, the O2 menu and the GPS s/w (although the latter was only a demo). I have no idea if using the SD card that came with the Zest will restore these, as I don't have it. (If the software is all on there somewhere, and someone could bung me a copy, I'd be really grateful.)
It does make me wonder how the P565 firmware compares. I understand it has a nice touch interface on it.
It seems odd that the new firmware would remove all the o2 specific bits. Great if you want to use it on another network I suppose, but I quite like the mobile shell or o2 menu.
The satnav software isn't on the sd card - only the maps.
The instructions say:
Please note that if you already have CoPilot satellite navigation software on your Xda, refer to the Xda Zest user manual before upgrading your device software.
Click to collapse
I couldn't see anything of significance in the user manual.
Interesting. I actually have Tomtom for GPS on a different SD card, which is related to the reason I don't have the original SD card. Tomtom autoinstalls from the SD card, so I thought it might be that the O2 software installed itself from the SD card provided by O2. I guess that if it's only maps on the SD card then that's not the case, and the new firmware does strip out all the O2 extras, which seems like a peculiar decision to say the least.
Still, it did get me to try the new SPB mobile shell 3, which is what the O2 menu is based on, but nicer. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth the $35 for just a flashy finger driven interface. The weird thing is, it actually might be.
I'm actually going to upgrade my firmware to new one which is currently available in O2 site. What I want to know is if upgrade mine to the latest what would be the changes I may seen... Is it worth upgrading by loosing all the software?
So far I've seen nothing to write home about. The only reason might be if you can't already make video calls and want to do so. (I never make them, so I have no idea whether or not they're supported in the original firmware.)
I just upgraded mine to new firm ware. It worked fine for me. I didn't lose any O2 extras inc O2 menu. It was Oki but haven't tried yet to make video calls.. I will install iGO8 and will uninstall the co-pilot.
SPB Mobile shell 3.0 Rocks working smoothly with my Omnia and Xda Zest
I've just updated, and I didn't lose any O2 extras either (including Copilot). I backed up the Program Files\Copilot folder on the device to my PC before updating, and copied it back over after the update and voila, I've still got my fully activated version of Copilot. It did still prompt for allowing it to connect to the net during the 14-day trial the first time I ran it, but the license screen confirms it's the full version.
aDe
I have a working theory that the autorun on my Tomtom SD card might have run in preference to some autorun that might otherwise have run the first time the OS booted. I could test this by re-installing the firmware, but it's kind of a pain to have to put all the data on again.
Having played around some more and browsed the Extended ROM on my device, this does appear to be what happened, as all the CAB files are present. Fortunately this is a bonus for me, since I'm not on O2, and most of these files are useless to me, and I can therefore just pick and choose the apps I'd like to install.
This might be useful to other Zest users - the hack to make the Extended ROM visible:
Use your favourite Registry Editor to make HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ONDisk2\FATFS\MountHidden set to 0 (default is 1)
You can then browse to \ASUS_ROM\ in Total Commander to view your Extended ROM partition. The ROM does not appear to be write protected, so you can now put all the packages *you* want re-installed on a hard reset in there. Neat.
I contacted O2 support about this issue, and they replied saying that:
On occasions the O2 menu can drop off after a ROM upgrade, but this would usually be resolve by either hard resetting or running the upgrade again. The o2 menu is still installed on the new ROM.

I have now done this upgrade and have retained the 02 menu. The radio reception seems a bit better as I now get HSDPA at home, which I didn't previously, so the radio upgrade seems to be worth it.
ringer
ive got the zest and am happy with it so far apart from the last 2 days i cannot hear it when i get a call everything else works ie.system sounds, core player etc but the actual phone wont ring it just vibrates ive reset it a million times and checked system settings etc but nothing so if anyone has any ideas i would be very grateful, also how do you know if you are getting hdspa or not is there a setting for it or something, cheers guys.
The connectivity icon at the top right of the screen shows what communication protocol is being used by showing a symbol (usually just a single letter) in a solid square. The letters I have seen so far are:
G - GPRS (2G)
E - EDGE
3G - 3G (this is the odd one out with the two letters squashed together)
H - HSDPA
It's worth mentioning that on my train ride home I see all four protocols at different points, and the hand-off between them is very smooth.
thanks for quick reply i will keep an eye on it, still no joy with my ringer though its very strange. never had a problem like it on my orbit. i will keep investigating ,also do you know if anyone will be coming up with a rom for zest as i miss manila 2d although mobile shell v3 is good.
Have you checked:
Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications
On the Notifications tab you can select the "Ring type", one possible choice of which is "Vibrate", which will make the phone only vibrate on incoming calls. Just guessing.
yes ive tried all that it might be affected by software ive installed recently i will try unistalling them one by one and see if that helps, failing that il do a hard reset i guess, anyone know how to hard reset the zest? thanks for your help.
There is a contortional key sequence for this, but you can also reset it by going to:
Start->Settings->System Tab->Default Settings
cheers managed to sort it , i installed mini lyrics software and ticked all in associating files which for some reason stopped the phone from ringing
thanks for your help.
Failure of firmware upgrade
Ive just had a power failure whilst upgrading the firmware on my new xda Zest and all it it shows when turning on is "OS Update failed! Please update again". Is there anything i can about this or will it need to be returned to O2. Any suggestions. thanx

Few questions about Android on the TP2

I finallt got my wifi connections working by changing my security to wpa/psk so I got that sorted out.
Was wandering if a couple things worked.
1)Sound?? Any sort what so ever.
2)The light on the keyboard..Is there a way to turn it on( ) or is it just not working yet??
3) The number keys on my keyboard are just soooo out of wack..No numbers and the symols it put's out don't corrispond with the symbols on the keys themselves..Does that have something to do with the provisioning or is that not working as well??
I'm using [MJG]Rhod.2.2.BLAZN.072110 if that makes any difference.
Hoping for some answers and I appreciate it.

You should definitely read thru the posts for everything you install first most devs tell you what works and what doesn't, but...
No sound in android for touch pro 2( meaning no matter what build of android you install, no matter who developed it atm there is no external speaker sound) other than in speaker-phone I think
Atm you cannot control your keyboard lights thru android, nor the hard keys you have on your phone, so make sure that both turn off before you run android off your SD card to avoid battery drainage.
As for the number key situation I have no idea, Im running 2.2 froyo by project android and I have no problems whatsoever with my keys...
and actually i just saw your forum siggy, if you have a tmobile touch pro 2 you need to get the fix for your keyboard. Search is your friend.

You need to read a bit more bud.
1. No
2. No (Turn it on before booting android and it will stay on 100% of the time while android is on but this is the only workaround currently)
3. Read up on FAQ about your startup.txt file. There is a cmdline that controls what keyboard you are using.
I appreciate the help folks. It's a shame about the sound tho..
Anyway..Found out my problem with the buttons..I was thinking that the provisioning dealt with the network, so I installed the cab for AT&T..That one didn't work(keyboard issues) so I installed the T-Mo cab and it's all fixed. Works like a charm.lol
As for the keyboard light..Mine just works. I didn't think I turned anything on in WinMo prior to booting, and it works like it should(slide on/off)..or at least I think it does..lol
USB connection
Hello all,
Can it be possible to connect the phone via USB connection (for instance to a Mac computer)? I want to install my own Android app and I tried to connect the phone via USB and it doesn't work. Is there other way to install apps?
Best regards,
Arturo

just put the .apk in your andboot/androidapps folder, and when you use the update tool, before you choose run android, go to meu>apps and make sure you app is checked in the lil box next to it. to transfer it to your phone you could get a bluetooth dongle for your computer, transfer it that way, or upload it to a filehosting site.from your computer n then download it from your phone
