* Power on without SIM
* Type in #7465625*638*
* A Dialog Box will appear. Enter your Unlock codeand press OK
* Device should say: “Successfully Disabled Locking Status” and press OK
* Your device has been unlocked.
*The 8 digit code can be obtained by calling AT&T Technical Support and given the representative the IMEI number. In exchange they will give you the Subsidy Unlock Code.
To obtain the IMEI number press *#06# on your mobile device.
the answer is there on the page

U can get the code as free. Number of websites are providing the services through online so u can. i found a website http://www.mobileunlockguide.com/ for the NOKIA,LG,SAMSUNG ETC., instructions AS FREE

Thank you. Won some BJ's on eBay and this came in handy.

Awesome! Just did this procedure on my Epix running trashcan's WM 6.5 ROM, no problems. Have not tested it with an alternate SIM but the status page shows all radio buttons set to "unlocked." Am looking to buy a used G1 on eBay and will probably pass the Epix to my son with a pre-paid account so he can phone or text me when he needs a pick-up from somewhere. Can other phones be unlocked with similar methods, not requiring either cooperation from a carrier or purchase of an unlock code?

This is what I used.. no need to purchase unlock code.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1536343
I did it prior to updating to win 6.5 from trashcan. The link says before updating to a certain version.
So its good someone confirmed that it would work even after updating.

I can confirm that works. I did it in 6.1 and upgrade to 6.5 and still works

How to help: Installing T-Mobile WM Upgrade on non-branded S620

Can anyone post a step by step how to on installing the T-Mobile WM6 ROM on the non-branded Euro version of the Excalibur?
I've tried a couple of times following pieces of info, but unsuccessfully.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Second that....keep getting "invalid vendor id" even though it is sim/cid unlocked. Won't even run the bootoader! Help!

sounds to me that the CID unlocking might not have been done properly
let's just say that the ROM/bootloader in question isn't the problem ... YOU SHOULDN'T encounter the "invalid vendor ID" message whatsoever ... because that's what CID unlocking does !!!
As far as I know there is no way to CID unlock the HTC S620 yet. However IMEI check have a work around to get the t-mobile WM6 Rom on there. The instructions are on the forum somewhere but I can't seem to see them right now.

Ok..I used GSM Liberty to unlock the HTCs620. It is definitely SIM unlocked as I can use any SIM I want to. I have seen the IMEI-check work-around & am hesitant to try it because the work-around includes changing part of the ROM code to read IMEI-Check. Not sure how that would work with a GSM Liberty unlocked phone. Does it matter? Anyone know for sure? Anybody else used GSM Liberty to unlock their phone?

So UnicornKaz, you have a Tmobile Dash then? I'm pretty sure the first post in this thread is talking about the HTC S620, although he uses the word "unbranded" which is weird.

I have the HTC S621 (Rogers Canada ) ... which is the same machine as S620/Dash/Dopod C720W ...etc
They are the same beast ... just market brand in different part of the world.
It came originally locked with Rogers carrier ..etc ... then I went to the above link and paid for the CID/SIM unlocking service .. plus I went on to do the AppZ unlocking myself ... Now I can upgrade/downgrade as I wish ... no problems whatsoever.
...except for the bugs of each indivual OS .. LOL
Non-branded meaning the phone having HTC's logo instead of the carrier's branded logo
mine is also non-branded.

All I can think of is that imei-check have updated their software and now it is a real CID unlock. When I first flashed the WM6 imei check sent those hex editing instructions in an email (your first link) and that worked for me. So people should probably ensure they unlock with IMEI checks latest version and try that second link with the instructions if your phone really is super cid. If you still get invalid vendor then give the first link a try.

I've figured it out. The instructions you are suggesting involve downgrading the bootloader from 1.19 to 1.11. Where as the instructions that imei supplied don't require the downgrade but do involve the hex editing.
I just tried UnicornKaz's suggested technique on a Rodgers HTC-S620 and they worked fine, so that way seems easier to me. It seems when you flash to WM6 it updates the bootlooader to a newer one again which doesnt show the red text on black background at startup.
don't forget to use it again when you do the downgrading to WM5
makes for easier/error free ... to run it everytime !
and keep in mind that after each ROM upgrade/downgrade ... your phone needs to be "app unlocked" again
do you even need to pay imei-check? Perhaps it works withthat boot loader without even needing a cid unlock!!

If you call Tmobile and tell them you are travelling out of country, they will SIM unlock you for the asking. Just tell them you'll be using a pre-paid SIM card from the country you'll "be visiting"
To SID unlock (or it's equivalent) so you can flash any rom you like, search for thread 550131 here at XDA (HARD-SPL)
If TMO won't be polite and unlock you, go to thread 555339 and for a small fee you can get unlocked by XDA's own Olipro/Cmonex team's commercial venture This can Security Unlock you so you can install any radio rom as well.

Use the search option in the top right of the forum screens and look for "Leo 2.5 ROM"....you'll see there's more than just one, and you need to do some serious reading to decide which might be best for you.
yea your right there are so many. which rom is the best in your opinion for tp2?
it would give me a starting point.

No clue...I haven't even flashed the new stock 6.5 on mine yet, let alone anything cooked. That will come in good time, right now I'm still having a blast tweaking a stock 6.1 every which way I can (short of getting an aftermarket ROM)
Asking that question in these forums carries with it a fair chance of getting e-tomatoes thrown at you, proceed at your own risk. Perhaps you'll just be politely advised to read up on the pros/cons of each and decide which sounds like it meets your preferences the best. The search you just did to see all those is done via google, so the results are stacked by frequency of visits...i.e. the ones closer to the top are likely in wider use, and are probably the best place to start

. This is not the right forum for the NOKIA S40 series phones.
But, lucky you, I have a solution.
The Nokia 2730 has a code that represents the region of the actual device and the network company also.
When connecting to Nokia update service, the main server checks your phone's special code and it sudjests you the latest regional and network ROM.
So the only way is to trick the Nokia server to think that you have an unlocked (network free) device. You can specify / change the region as well.
There is a program called Nemesis service suite that changes your code. Google it, study the tutorials, check the 2730 code list with your region (e.g Chinese) but network free.
Cheers.

Nemesis is ok to find product code very useful by example if you
1.want to change languages in your phone -may be useful...
2.debranding phone
but.. I do not think you will unlock phone by make a software update
It would meant that they at Nokia are stupid is not it?
also do not forget you are using Nokia software to do that
it can be done by jaf unlocker interface but we talk here about hardware tools...
by the way some people say it is possible to unlock E51 by software update- change product code
try maybe it works for you before do a check maybe phone is already unlocked
so de-branding one thing un-locking another thing

mobile-phone-unlock.com was advertised here in a HowardForum banner and so thought they'd be OK...now wondering if they're legit. Have read some bad reviews on them, and not seen any good ones. I requested an unlock code for my Note 2 from Mobilicity yesterday, and got this email reply from Greg:
"I'm Greg from Mobile Phone Unlock. I will be manually calculating a code to unlock your mobile as the system was not able to do it automatically.
It will take me about 24 hours to generate the code but for your particular handset I need you to comfirm some details of the handset first to help me calculate the correct unlock code. Can you please visit this link and fill in the details.
htt p:// www.mobile-phone-unlock.com/details.php?tj=MPMMF4Y5V&ma=MPARVWI6L
Once you have clicked the above link and submitted this information I will get back to you within 24 hours."
Requested info:
1. Tick box if handset under 3 months old
2. Where did you buy the phone?
3. Can you confirm the imei is correct by pressing *#06# as the number on the box may differ from the number on actual handset.
Is this all necessary and sound on the up and up?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Korean Version SHV-370K - ROM/GroupPlay/ChatON

Hey people,
I recently purchased a Korean variant of the S4 Mini. The model is SHV-370K. To my findings, its equal to the main version I9195. Is that correct? I do have the NFC chip installed. My question is, can I flash an official ROM like the ones used in the I9195? I have to much KOREAN language apps and I dont think I am prepared to root it. If I can flash an official ROM on this via ODIN?, will I still be able to get the OTA? My current version is 4.2.2. And checking on Sammobile I have the latest. The Korean stuff is just to much of a hassel and I am not sure if I will even get an update. Can I flash an official ROM and not lose warranty and root?
My second question is that I cannot make Group Play work on 2 of these S4 Mini's. They just dont connect. It says Network Lost and sometimes failed to join group. I've tried working it over with NFC and Wifi Direct. Normal gallery pictures and everything send easy, just this app that I really really want to use. Would be great if some one would help me.
My last question is that ChatON keeps giving an Error while checking for push services. I have tried everything. Changed networks, tried Mobile Networks. All my apps are up to date, even the annoying Samsung Push Service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much people.
Have a great day.
Oh and I think its Carrier Branded? Cuz it has this Olleh writen on its back cover?
So ChatON and Group Play is working after they have been updated most recently. I did update them before but they dint seem to work. The current updates work good. Any one about the ROM issue? Would love some help <3.

Hi guys,
Have you found any solution to this problem? I'm also an [almost] happy owner of a Korean-branded S4 Mini and as USSD codes don't work, was told that firmware needs to be changed. But this being specifically a Korean phone, I'm not sure other ROMs out there will even be 100% compatible.
Thanks,
Vit

Thanks, but I don't think I have to enter a password, since other phones work without it. Unless it's somehow phone-specific, but my operator reps would probably have told me (instead they just said the firmware needs to be changed). What secret menu are we talking about? perhaps aI could investigate. At any rate, if there someone has managed to flash the Korean version of the phone with a more "universal" firmware, I'd like to know. Thanks!

Please forgive me as I'm a total noob, but after your last reply it hit me: we're probably talking about different USSDs. I meant that my operator USSD codes didn't work, the ones that I send to find out my remaining balance and to also enable/disable services etc. (e.g. I would send *444#2#1 to find out my remaining balance), not the phone's own USSD codes (like the service menus etc, e.g. the IMEI check with *#06#). Operator USSD codes just don't work - the phone either sits trying to connect for a few minutes (locking the phone down during this time), or just says that the signal is too weak. So I guess I do need to install a different firmware to fully unlock it.
Thanks for trying to help though, I'm learning new stuff!

Mate I have the same problem here. The USSD codes just dont work. My balance check does work though. All I have noticed that USSDS that need two steps dont work. Example to transfer credits, I type *456# and in return it should ask me what number I need to transfer my credits, but it just doesnt work. I have tried the menu but no idea what that is all about. Still cannot find what to do.
Secondly I met some one at the forums who has the same device as ours. HE said installing Cynogen Mod is working and it doesnt effect us having a model of SHV something. LOL. So I dont know if I should go ahead and flash a custom rom. I would rather flash an official rom but no one is helping here and I cant seem to find any. Like maybe we could flash an english rom from UK. Something official like the normal I9195 have! Not some korean ones.
New Update.
Hey people! I just got an OTA update and all I see new is a Google Drive icon. The update is still on 4.2.2 and not 4.3. It was about 96mb of file size. How can I take out the changelog and read what bug fixes it brings?

I've read about CSC Select app (on google play market), but I think you need root for this to work. I'm not an expert on that though.
