lol, my girlfriend hates you... I'm spending way too much time messing around with my tytn lately
Would you consider removing all translations and make a super-duper-extra-no sugar-lite version with ONLY hebrew support?

squares instead of fonts...

Hi every one,
I am facing some truble with reading sms/mms/email ... since i'm in israel, i recieve some messages in hebrew but i cannot read them since instead of hebrew fonts i get little boxes (each letter is a square) . does anybody knows how to install another font so that the OS will recognize incoming messages ?
i know there is a company that alters the entire OS into hebrew (EYRON i think), but i do not wish to do so. i just want to be able to read/see hebrew fonts...
thanks and have a nice weekend everyone.
Glad to see I am not the only one with the same problem...
I regularly get non-english SMS's. UNfortunately I cant even forward them to a phone with does have the fonts.... I am forced to carry around a second phone (T68i) just for receiving SMS's,,,,
mayb thz is in chinese or jpn text

Ok, I have done a bit more research on this.
There is a way of installing Hebrew fonts (TTS type)
BUT
that wont solve your problem UNLESS you are prepared to read hebrew backwards

is one site to look at but rather incomplete...

HTC S620 (Excalibur) and T9...

Does anybody know a way to install T9 or the newer version from the Dash on the S620? I really like the word-completion feature of my other smartphones and PPC's.
Thanks!
we'll probably have to wait until someone extracts the extrom of the dash rom
Careful what you wish for
why did you buy the S620 if it is to put T9 on it?
The only benefit of this smartphone is the full qwerty keyboard, it sounds a bit strange to want to restrict yourself to the numeric pad to type your messages?
It's actually the newer xT9, you're not restriced to the numeric keys -- it predicts as you're typing words with the qwerty keyboard. Future versions might be more useful, but I find it more of a hinderance now. There's no way to configure it or edit the dictionary, it kicks in when you don't necessarily want it to and memorizes passwords, as well as showing them while you're entering them. Where ever the dictionary resides, mine is full of typos and passwords. Would be nice if you could uninstall or just shut it off. You can press ALT then SPACE and switch to just letter entry, but at some point it'll come back...

I understand that T9 is directed more towards standard phone keyboards, but I use it on my Hermes all the time. When typing a long email, the word completion can save time.
T9 dictionary edit
I am super annoyed by wrong words being added to the T9 dictionary!
I tried using the msT9Ed.exe, but it seems to not find the correct file.
I did find a file called "eT9Cdb.cdb" in the Windows folder, but don't know if this is the right thing to edit.
Anyone found something lately to edit the T9 dictionary?
newer xT9

ROMs in other languages than WWE

Guys. Why dont u make rom in wwe?
I am sure, that the all of ya, who has such advanced phone( win mobile) , know english?!?! So i cant use PTG, ITA, FR and Spanih roms cause i dont understand, but i would like to try and maybe use one of them..
What is the point / advantage to make a rom in native language?? I really dont see, cause almost all programs are in english, also games...
Ok, I've been reading this excellent forum for quite a few years and I have to say that this was a very unhappy post.
Hey badguy999, then we all could start buying all of our books in English language. What about if we all start speaking in English?
I don't have problems doing that, and having lunch in McDonalds for a while, but I prefer my native language for the daily base usage.
This way we keep our right to choose don't you agree?

Why don´t you cook this ROMs to WWE, this will be more interesting than your coment.
It´s really easy to ask developers to make the ROM in other language, but instead of it, i have ask for permison to ausdim and translate his ROM to Spanish and make modifications to make the ROM perfect for me.
If you don´t like what´s you see in this forum... there are two simple solutions... learn how to cook, and make your own ROMs, or learn Spanish, Italian or French....
So bad your complain... i don´t use Korean or Chinesse ROMs, but i don´t complain about it, because there isn´t Spanish Version, simply i don´t use THEM.
PD: Spanish is a very nice language, I Like to use it.
See you.
How do we translate a ROM to another language?
What files needs to be modified, added or deleted?
Found the answer to these questions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311078
I'd like to manage this on my own instead of asking someone else to cook for me
/Bjurte
@badguy999
being from same country as you are 15+ years ago I can understand your question fully but many people from EU can't because they like their language, they like it sooo much that they even watch foreign movies translated not in a way we are using (subtitles) but they actualy dubbing actors voices with their spanish, french, german.... language, imagine a voice of Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro covered with some mediocre italian actor...jeez!!
So, what happen than, you go to some nice EU country and start talking english, a vast majority of people can't understand you actualy, the other ones insist on speaking their native one, isn't that sweet
I didnt want to offend or insult any of you. ALL of you are doing great job with FREE releases of windows mobile.
Interesting thinking .U are right about that. Imaš popolnoma prav, banesi Good to have some brothers here. What rom do u use?
I like my own language too, very much, but i dont use windows vista in my language and any other software installed on my pc, pda, cause its more simple for me to find things in a menu with english translation. All phrases ( cooking, read, save, open, load etc are in english, were in english born - thats why i prefer english). Also i speak german and very little french, but i dont want to use german Rom, cause its not so "simple looking". Hard to explain with my "poor" knowledge of english language.
I would like to cook my own rom and i actually started reading the threads about cooking but it looks very hard to understand. Is there a way, that i "open" the rom i want and make some changes and save it. I dont want to start with nothing, cause there are some roms, that are good for my need but the y have some thing that i dont want.
Hope u understand what i tried to tell ya.
AND i didnt know, that is much to do to translate, cause otherwise all roms could be in 3 or more languages. And the wolf wouldnt be hungry and the sheep would be safe. hehehehe
btw banesi , that is NOT sweet. hehe
Hope, the big countries will change that in few years. The will have to, i think. Many people are moving from country to another, mixed cultures etc..

Free Hebrew support for TP2

Did anyone find a Hebrew support package that works on the Touch Pro2?
I tried Eyron, PDAC, Paragon (LEng) and badnimits but non of them seems to work
With all of them I tried the basic support without UI translation but still no luck.
also looking...
for the hebrew support
Same, Need help =D...

OK, We have a winner !!! OSM is the man
After HR. I installed:
1) OSM Hebrew package
2) AEKMap for with the updated TP2 Hebrew layout for hardware keyboard support
3) Finger Keyb for Hebrew soft keyboard support
Almost everything is working great & the device response is hardly effected.
Two things I have noticed:
1) Known issue - Opera is showing Hebrew LTR
2) In text messages I receive sometimes digits are displayed in Arabic I guess this is font dependent
didn't get it, if you're looking for FREE hebrew - why check out eyron & pdac!?
anyway, I tried the PDAC with the registry changes I directed you to before at pocketpcfreak - and it WORKS !
second, just TODAY i recieved an email fro EYRON's support saying that you can download a trial version of hebrew FOR TP2 from their site.
wanna try it out ?
Yep why not

Its not so much the "free" as finding a light Hebrew support.
Coming from the TYTN with its challenging memory configuration finding a light Hebrew support made HUGE difference.
Today even though the TP2 has much more memory I don't see a reason waisting it on something as basic as reading and writing in Hebrew.
ok, here we go... i'll try my best:
go to
HKLM/software/Tegic/eT9/XT9suportMSSip and change the value to 0
then, hop over to:
HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/control === here you need to change 2 values:
the first: layouts/e0010409/imefile change the value there to windows/compime.dll
the second: layouts text change the value there to COMP IME
reset and you're ready to go !
all credit to harvey from pocketpcfreak forum
hope all is clear...
I didn't find any TP2 version on Eyron's site.
And TBH, I dont give a **** ^^..
The free hebrew package that is offered above in this thread is way better, doesnt slow down your device, and is compatible with everything

Eyron Hebrew for TP2
OK, I installed it, it looked good at first, and is OK in general, BUT:
Caps shift/lock is disabled on hardware keyboard for english typing, and the cursor is a few spaces away from the place that it should be located when typing an email (again in english).
Now for people that don't use english a whole lot, these problems may not matter that much, but for me they do...

also tried - i can confirm all of the above.
also - if you have the regional settings set to hebrew the eyron will not let any .net cf based apps work ! you must change to english.
btw- p.d.a.c have released a .cab file to fix the "fun" button problem with the hardware keyboard.
in short, seems the free hebrew support is better than the rest but does anyone know of fixes for the mentioned problems ? i.e opera ltr & arabic fonts instead of digits ?
Good for start...

[Release][Paid/Free APP] Gear Keyboard (Lite): Ideas/Experience?

Hey,
may some of you all already know me, some may not I am the developer behind the "YouWatch" apps/watchfaces.
I want to ask you for your Experience with my Keyboards. If you not know about what I talk may you can check it out. (Links are at end of the posts)
I have add in last time many things to the keyboard. (most of them to the paid versions) For example:
3 different keyboard layouts
3 color options
word suggestions
many customize options
versions for different countries (there is an Russia, German and one english version. An espanol/hindi/arabic/french/Portuguese version already in testing at samsung)
over 400 emojis (lol I had to add every emoji seperatly was really much work )
add more smybols etc (many other small changes like that it vibrant when you press an key)
For example I also work on swipe function but I am not sure if and how (if in this app or an seperatly app) it will come if I get it to work...
And maybe some of you could say me what they like and what they don´t like so I can make the next versions better. And it would be also great if you could say me what you would like to see add to the keyboard.
Thank you all very much for your support and the downloads! (GearKeyboard: Lite have now over 46.000 downloads):good:

Hey
thanks great to hear that it works fine And there is soon coming an version "Gear keyboard: Arabic (Pro)" which will include an Arabic Keyboard.
It will include these keyboards:
-English (QWERTY)
-France (BÉPO)
-German (QWERTZ)
-Russia (JCUKEN)
-Spanish (QWERTY in Spanish Layout)
-Hindi (Indian Script, hindi numbers are not included!)
-Arabic (normal Layout)
-Portuguese (QWERTY in Portuguese Layout)
But it won´t have suggestion words and per keyboard just one layout. But I am looking to add maybe soon suggestion words to some layouts.... It will called maybe something other in different countries/languages on your phone.... For example in english it will be called: GearKeyboard: Multiple Languages
It is already at testing at samsung so I think it will come next week, would be great if you could say me then if you like or doesn´t like it
