SDHC ready ROMS - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

I have read and search for a ROm here that has say it is SDHC compliant 9 able to recognize a higher capacity microsd meaning 4gig and above)
read The roms that have come out but still there are no indications that it is sdhc
I have read that only k's ( kinokin) was able to have made one please help me out I am new with this thread and had my research about roms that has been released ...
Is the driver for sdhc can cause a problem with our hermes?

All WM6.1 ROMs have SDHC capabilities :O

WOW
that was lightning fast... okay so that is the reason why they dont say it anymore because all of 6.1 version for hermes is sdhc ready... well as for the wizard we are still trying to have it made...
maybe i should read more about 6.1 version fro hermes can someone give an outline what is the difference of 6 to 6.1 about hermes?
again thanks

Most, if not all the cooked WM06 roms are also sdhc compliant. It was mainly some of the VERY early roms and WM05 that weren't. Some of the stock roms also were trouble.
Cheers...

I am just so confused now because before hermes has a lot of free space like 70 for programs and over 30 for the Programs yet now it has change and it is due to the modules that where replaced?
re- modules? maybe that is the price we have to pay for stability and for a faster response
but somewhere in the thread of ROMS M2D is not that stable for the hermes? and yet for the wizard it has more than 2 cooks that have made it working smoothly... I was just thinking it is due to the modules that eat up the resources?
another thing is the GPS... yes it has been said over and over but it cant be done with Hermes but some claims that they have did it... so what is the real score is it capable of receiving a gps connection or is it a folktale that they have indeed make it have a GPS
makes me think about the nike thread about wifi it has a module but n one has ever unlock it
IMHO

Take my word back...
after a day kareem9nba has shown that m2d and a big storage can still be a reality for Hermes users
Thanks a lot for the Roms

I added manila to your saphire with office rom..still lots of room left! Fast and stable too.

AMP?????
I's nice to have you here I dont know you have a hermes... BTW you have done a great job on the Wizard WM6 forum nice ROM and many people said that your rom is the only one that can be patched to read SDHC in a wizard... is not a trudly fact but many people can be sure of this... I think they use SD nonHC 4 GB
Real big storage can only be on Hermes I think but it would be nice if works on wizard jajajaja (dont know where does this takes memory but it would be great!!!) Joshkoss said on his kitchen forum that os.nb.payload file on the SYS folder or XIP was missing on 20931... and he said that we can use other file and it becomes A RBSN ROM I dont know if this can make it just because this file....
Ultramag told me something that is so interesant, now i Kknow that since the build 20755 all the ROM's comes with the SDHC Drivers on the reg key values ( maybe olders but I dont have any other older than that to see the reg keys)

rying new stuff
Yeah I heard that too about sdhc on AMP never had a chance to try it though
thank you if ever you have tried my ROM before... I am trying to know more about the hermes now and who knows I may concoct my own soon...

Great!!!! keep it up men!!!
If you release a Rom here i will give it a try men!!! see you later!

Excalibur support for SDHC

Anyone know whether the Exaclibur will support microSDHC? http://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory/SanDisk/4GB/Micro/SDHC/Card for example
anyone at all? Pls?
No according to the site you visited.
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/compatible-memory/Handheld_PC/HTC/HTC+S620
The fact that they do not have it there does not mean it is not supported. Even some SDHC devices are not listed as supporting SDHC on that site. Has anyone tried?
I'm just quoting the site when I say, "The largest TransFlash / MicroSD card you can use in your HTC S620 is 2048MB."
Go be the guinea pig if you like though.
No it does not support the new format.
Thank you Dan for the answer. Does anyone know if this is hardware or software (i.e. WM5 Smartphone Edition) limitation? If software, will WM6 Standard resolve that?

You must be a newbie, because only someone uneducated would say something like that. The purpose of this forum is for people to educate themselves on a certain topic through the process of asking questions and reading posts. By you calling someone a "prick," you undermine the whole system and, in fact, make yourself sound like a "prick." Please respect the forum rules and keep your itchy fingers away from the keyboard if you aren't going to say something with some merit.

Actually I have found some new evidence that may lead more to the Dash/Excalibur to supporting SDHC. Look at what I found here...
http://www.jamerican.net/?p=9
JAmerican
I have the Hermes also...and the cooked WM6 rom all support SDHC. It was an OS modification on the Hermes to make it read the SDHC....not hardware.
If someone know one of the Hermes chef...he might can cook up a new WM6 for the Dash/Excalibur

Ok thanks for confirming. that's great news! well i hope the registry section/fixed posted by JAmerican would let the Dash support SDHC.
My Excalibur runs ookba`s wm6.5 rom v 2.5 and it is currently recognising and SDHC card of 8 GB.
Hi All
I have Kingston 8GB SDHC, works fine running Ookab 3VO.2.80.092509
This thread is from 2007 every 6.1 ROM "even some 6's" take 8GB and even 16GB, many threads discuss this.
16gb does work
I have tried a 16gb sdhc in my dsh and it read it but not with the t-mobile rom i'm using the htc brightpoint rom in mine

The Most Stable, the biggest space and the fastest rom currently

I got headache to choose, to keep my rom up to date!I'm still using custel 2.5. A lot of newer roms nowadays. Very positive growth.... Custel 2.5, Elf 2.1, Faria, Black 3.5 With Live Removed and Extra Storage, Black Dymond, vp3G's, LVSW, dutty's v2. and so many . Give me advice please.
Well duh, mine of course!
Seriously though, one of the best things about this place is so many ROMs to choose from. Each has it's merits (and it's quirks!). Just pick one, try it on and see how it fits you.
P.S. You missed one flavor in your list. Sleuth255 has put together a very nice LVSW variant as well. When in doubt, check the WIKI. I just updated it today, in fact.
Last weeks I installed almost all of them and (non-scientifically!) benchmarked their performance... See my post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1284362&postcount=15
My conclusion: they all are stabile and have more or less the same performance (I think because they have more or less the same core.... sorry chiefs).
The one you could pick is the one with the extra's and addons you want...
My personal experience: LVSW Sleuth edition is very good!
At the moment I'm trying Faria..
i tried every rom (including black dymond). when it comes to stability, nothing compares to lvsw and the derivates. i use elf 2.1. nice combination of features, working bt, fast and STABLE.
what i dont need is a pimp machine with soft reset every two hours...
peter
I think mine is the best.. Actually, mine is unique in how it's built. I did cook some minor (and vital) things into the rom itself, but most is added via. ExtRom customization with all cab's modified to allow removal So, if you want Live, it's there. If you don't, just remove it. etc.. It's a different way to cook, and one that requires a whole lot of CAB modification.
My Live cab is different than any other cab on this site. I hand modified it to install in the way I wanted, and work the way I wanted. Personally, I think it's the best cab around -- and exclusively for Elf 2.1.
thank you. Very good benchmarking and very hard work! I'll try LVSW Sleuth edition.
I have used Elf 1.0 . It is very nice and marvelous build. But I got problem with battery charging. Then I tried black dymond and faria yesterday. But I have to go back to CUSTEL, because I feel more stable and more memory. Just now I tried Black 3.5 With Live Removed and Extra Storage and now I test Elf 2.1.

I like my ROM.
CUSTEL still won Program and memory space. Faria, LVSW Sleuth edition and Elf 2.1 won the speed. LSLW based won the most stable. Which one do you prefer most? Do you agree with this conclusion?
Elf V2.1 works for me
I haven't tried all so I can't compare. Indeed I have only flashed my JASJAM yesterday for the first time with Elf V2.1. So far it has been working great for me. For those who has been hesitating to take the plunge, I would say read the WIKI. Make sure you know what you are doing. Then do it. I did that and I am a happy man. And I am sure many of these ROMs are all great. We (and MS) are lucky to have this great community to support this WM platform.
Cheers.
I agree with you. Their hard works are very great. Everybody in this forum and out there can't deny this.
LVSW 19-05-2007 Sleuth edition and Elf2.1 are very nice to try. So I test Elf 2.1 first. Sleuth still on downloading... rapidshare got a little bit slow.
cool topic
What a great thread to read peoples summary experiences. This kind of thread would have been previously scoffed at with ' go read for yourself ' replies by some that have left this forum except to throw the odd spot remark.
I am currently using FARIA after trying some of the Black and LVSW variants. I like FARIA a lot because of the addin utils, and am not concerned about only 20Mb free after boot. I make calls and use TomTom, not much more.
The MAJOR thing that I like about FARIA is that now my car charger works, whereas all the other ROMs didn't allow the car charger to work - go figure!
Thanks to all the contributors and chefs who hold true and know when to reply and when to ignore some of the less experienced users questions. Its about COMMUNITY, not superiority. Thanks, and may your sheep be blessed with a thousand lambs.
I like FARIA especially on startup, date/time finishing and speed. But it's addons take much memory so I have to reset so many times especially after using MAPKING and WIFI. I'll like FARIA if it a lite version with an option addons.

WWE Trinity ROM's Development STOPPED

Hello,
Sadly after reading last FinixOver post, I realized, that there are no more WWE Rom cookers for the Trinity.
-Akeo broke device and went to Diamond.
-Tnyynt also changed to Diamond.
-Finixover I think is aso on the way to Diamond.
-eliasweb long time no update
-karmba_a also bought diamond
Our only options right now are PDAViet, which personally I don't like.
Maybe there's someone out there willing to start cooking??
Or should we all move to diamond's aswell
best regards to all.
This is shocking news! but i can understand why, the dimond seems brilliant, i had my 1st look the other day and it has amazing features like the G sensor, wow and the graphics.
I wish all the old cookers the best of luck with the Dimond because they have all done an AMAZING job with the trinnity and I am very thankful for all their hard work and time.
Bring on the next generation cookers!
I'm trying to cook but it's a litle diferant of my Roms on Prophet hihi.
i'm studyng the manuals of cooking on a Trinity because i've changed recently from Prophet

Good luck on Trintiy cooking. I'm sure that you will master it, I used a few of your Prophet roms and really liked them.
Welcome.
For those of you who think about purchasing a Touch Diamond I would like to tell you two things.
-Battery life sucks,if you thought the battery in your trinity doesn´t last.....get ready to charge your diamond almost everyday or day and a half.
-Poor/Low signal.
Been using the Trinity for the last year and half. Very happy with the features.
Now time to move on, will not choose Diamond. This time need one with QWERT keyboard as quite often need to write/reply email on the go.
Hey, what you guys thinks of Touch Pro??? Any good in terms of battery life, speed, GPS reception?

HI,
I use Diamond from one month and I can say that:
1. Signal is very good (I use oryginal radio 1.25.05),
2. Battery is really weak. Max two days keeps without charging,
3. looks excellent, very small compare to trynity,
4. better lcd etc.
So bros may time to change your mobiles?
I used trynity almost one year and and I thing that is very good mobile.
Cheers
my opinion

it would be nice to come up with a rom like this one you made here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=382434 for trinity
my opinion
I would cook if I had a device but I havn't been able to find a cheep second hand trinity yet.
I made a try that did boot but havn't gotten back to give it an other try.
All i can say is that i will miss all these developers and can't thank them enough for all the hard work they have done for us...all of you.
One other thing....MAXNIPER WHEN DO U START COOKING DUDE???
just saw your Prophet Rom and i am just waiting for your first release to flash my trinity...Nice work on the Prophet and hope you do the same here...
Before my companion with Trinity for one year, I used Palm Treo 650 for one year.
I like Treo 650's operating speed and qwerty keyboard to write sms and email. But WM OS has so many up-to-date software to use, so I changed to Trinity, considering its basic WM function and GPS.
Now, if no one continue to cook Trinity roms, I really don't know which mobile I should change to. I don't think Diamond has any significant innovative function, except its shell.
I appreciate all the great works of rom cookers, especially FInixNOver coz I am using it now. I am satisfied with Trinity till now.

Whats new for Hermes?

Hi all.
Is there something new for our beloved Hermes? New ROM perhaps? Are there still great chefs for the Hermes? Well Im sure there is! Whats the most recommended ROMs now? What have I missed in the last 6 months? I have read somewhere that WM is now on 6.5.... is it applicable to our Hermes?
Been soo busy at work! Its been a long time since I found time to visit this site..I think the last time was November/December last year and Im not sure if there are still a lot of Hermes users and a lot of Hermes cooked Roms as it was that time, considering that there are now many new HTC phones coming it. But as for me, I still love my Hermes (or maybe I just dont have the money yet to get a new HTC phone lols).
The current rom Im using I think is version 3.62 with Radio version 1.47.30.10, on WM6.1 with M2D, TouchFlo...I even forgot whose ROM it is...either PDAViet, PhamQuang, abusalza's PDACorner, Starbase64, JoshKoss, CRCinAU or Schaps, I really forgot now, so many Roms to play around that time. I have yet to check first my files in my PC as what were the last things I opened and used with regards to Hermes. Still, my Hermes is still doing great, alive and kicking!
I miss xda-dev. Thanks to all those excellent chefs I mentioned (and forgot to mention) .... I hope these days there is still something new to play around for the Hermes
Thanks..
Whole new things!

Older Ipaq to wm6.1

Hi Guys
Im Completely lost at this point.
I have an Older HP Ipaq H4350, Ive been trying to upgrade this stupid thing from wm 2003 to wm 6.1 so that it can read my SDHC ( thats what i read somewhere that 2003 cant read the cards and wm6.1 can)
here some quick questions ( there gona sound really really dumb)
1) can you take any rom and force it onto a device ( newer hp rom on older device)
2) If it can only be done by Cooking how difficult is that, cause with cooking i feel like im going from the frying pan to the fire!
thanks so much for time

1) NO
2) There is no ROM kitchen for iPAQ h4350 (HTC Dextrous) and it's impossible to build WM6.1 because ROM size is only 32MB.
Thanks Spiaatie
i guess Ill just go out and grab a 4GB SD card than, would have been nice to use my 8GB from my old palm 750.
thanks though, good think i didnt do anything fully stupid
