The problem is related to 'Region Protection' until and unless the phone is unlock by the carrier or a CID Unlock tool, flashing cooked ROM's prevents the phone from searching for the network and further causing the system to drag like hell.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I didnt know if this would be considered more a general question or not.
I have the ATT stock rom on my tilt 2. I have hardspl-ed it to add the radio version 4.49.25.57. I want to try and flash maybe one of the official roms from HTC and a couple of the custom roms, But here is the question: Is there a way to save the att stock rom in the event I have to send this back, or if I wish to go back to the stock rom?
And while I'm asking a) Which htc official rom would be best from the tilt 2 on ATT, and which custom rom has the least issues with the most features?
Again if this is in the wrong forum, mods please move. Thanx again.

The AT&T radio is 4.48.25.20 which can be downloaded here (thanks to wpbear for the mirror).
There's only one official WWE HTC TP2 ROM on the HTC website. The one you have is the stock AT&T-customized WM6.5 ROM.
There are a few ROMs that come in mind: ark666's, NRGZ28's, agent_47's. There are more stable ROMs out there. NRG's ROMs are fully packed with features, but that could be considered "bloatware" for some. I'm liking agent_47's Valkyrie ROMs right now; it's a combination of a stock-ish feel, with the speed and tweaks (apps for tweaking also included) of a custom ROM.
I know I have the stock att rom. Where on HTC would I find that official rom, because if I have to return this phone back to att I would like it to be as close to what I got is as so this way they dont give me and grief.
And would the UK english work on the tilt 2 or would that cause problems, I find that the att stock rom is very buggy especially when it comes to the sms and mms and the app hanging or getting stuck.
Or would the official HTC rom be leaner and work with less bugs?

So the official WWE HTC ROM is here. If you need that, you will need a WWE serial number (you have an AT&T serial number, so just do a search here on XDA for a WWE serial number; a WWE serial number was posted numerous times here). Ah, what the heck, here's a serial number I found: HT95NLL00167
The official AT&T Stock ROM is here and here (not sure if they're the same; one might include boot screen and radio).
The WWE HTC ROM is still stock, and because there are no carrier modifications, it should be faster and more stable due to less bloatware on the ROM. In other words, I think any Touch Pro2/Rhodium/Tilt2 ROM is better than the carrier-modified ROMs we get with the phone.
Thanx sumflipnol, I saw there was the official rom and an update which I am going to see how it works, I also am going to DL those two stock roms. Thanx. Now to find a custom rom with the least problems that possibly has sense on it.
No problem.
Good luck! And hopefully, you wouldn't need to flash back to the stock AT&T ROM at all.
I have tried to get the basics rt but it became an info overload. I know i would require HARDSpl to flash to a cooked rom. ...but am not sure how to install hard spl and then go abt flashing my phone...
would really appreciate if someone can give it out in steps or provide links stepwise on how to do it.
thanx in advance
they are all already there just read the sticky threads in this forum for more information, along with hspl you should get your phone security unlocked and update a radio rom so that the switch to a custom rom is very smooth. I'm in India and I have flashed most of the roms here without any issues.
Try this TUT by Badwolve - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=608668
It gives a good indepth yet clear instruction set to flash your ROM from ground up.
I am a new tilt 2 owner and I don't know how to install a custom rom or theme onto my phone and I would like to do so if someone could help me I would really apperciate it!!!
Thanks
Melissa
Please read this sticky at the ROM section.
Thanks for your help I did all that but now I am still confused on what roms I can install on my phone and what ones I can't if you could help me I would apperciate it thanks again!
Once you follow the directions from the linked post, and have successfully flashed HardSPL, you can flash any GSM Rhodium ROM. Do not flash ROMs and radios intended for the CDMA Worldphone Rhodiums, and do not flash ROMs made for other devices, such as the Topaz, Diamond, Raphael, Kaiser, etc. Flashing ROMs from either of those categories can brick your device beyond repair. Basically, you can safely flash any ROM from this subforum.
