I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I didnt know if this would be considered more a general question or not.
I have the ATT stock rom on my tilt 2. I have hardspl-ed it to add the radio version 4.49.25.57. I want to try and flash maybe one of the official roms from HTC and a couple of the custom roms, But here is the question: Is there a way to save the att stock rom in the event I have to send this back, or if I wish to go back to the stock rom?
And while I'm asking a) Which htc official rom would be best from the tilt 2 on ATT, and which custom rom has the least issues with the most features?
Again if this is in the wrong forum, mods please move. Thanx again.

The AT&T radio is 4.48.25.20 which can be downloaded here (thanks to wpbear for the mirror).
There's only one official WWE HTC TP2 ROM on the HTC website. The one you have is the stock AT&T-customized WM6.5 ROM.
There are a few ROMs that come in mind: ark666's, NRGZ28's, agent_47's. There are more stable ROMs out there. NRG's ROMs are fully packed with features, but that could be considered "bloatware" for some. I'm liking agent_47's Valkyrie ROMs right now; it's a combination of a stock-ish feel, with the speed and tweaks (apps for tweaking also included) of a custom ROM.
I know I have the stock att rom. Where on HTC would I find that official rom, because if I have to return this phone back to att I would like it to be as close to what I got is as so this way they dont give me and grief.
And would the UK english work on the tilt 2 or would that cause problems, I find that the att stock rom is very buggy especially when it comes to the sms and mms and the app hanging or getting stuck.
Or would the official HTC rom be leaner and work with less bugs?

So the official WWE HTC ROM is here. If you need that, you will need a WWE serial number (you have an AT&T serial number, so just do a search here on XDA for a WWE serial number; a WWE serial number was posted numerous times here). Ah, what the heck, here's a serial number I found: HT95NLL00167
The official AT&T Stock ROM is here and here (not sure if they're the same; one might include boot screen and radio).
The WWE HTC ROM is still stock, and because there are no carrier modifications, it should be faster and more stable due to less bloatware on the ROM. In other words, I think any Touch Pro2/Rhodium/Tilt2 ROM is better than the carrier-modified ROMs we get with the phone.
Thanx sumflipnol, I saw there was the official rom and an update which I am going to see how it works, I also am going to DL those two stock roms. Thanx. Now to find a custom rom with the least problems that possibly has sense on it.
No problem.
Good luck! And hopefully, you wouldn't need to flash back to the stock AT&T ROM at all.

Hi All,
Sorry, there is so much information on this site, i'm lost.
Can someone please provide links to what I need to download and install to upgrade a stock standard telstra diamond touch so I can get it working correctly with Optus?
Thanks.
OK, i've upgraded the bootloader to the hard spl, and the radio version is already at 1.00.25.06 (do you think its worth downgrading to 1.00.25.05??)
Now, what's the most popular rom for the diamond? What do people suggest?
Thanks.

I'm using Dutty's ROM at the mement. But I will be using this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438313
when its bugs get sorted out since its based on the Diamond 2 thingo or whatever so it'll have some new features.
I'm the same as you. Bought the Telstra Diamond and chucked in my Optus SIM. Pretty much just have to any ROM and you won't have to see the Telstra branding everywhere.
That ROM you linked looks rather spic. What issues are stopping you from flashing that ROM now?

To be honest I didn't find out about that ROM until just before I found your post, Mainly time has been stopping me and the hassle, and I read that there are some little bugs that it has when skimming through the thread but there was nothing that was bad enough to make me not upgrade. Just don't want to Flash to the ROM and then have a new revision come out two days later which is better.
Think I'll upgrade to this ROM right not though
Thanks for your post.
I decided to use the rom that you linked to, and found found it a 1000% improvement from the Tesltra one.
Only issue I have found so far is trouble connecting to wifi networks. Will have a bit more of a play soon.
Apart from that, it's good.
I 'downgraded' to the 1.00.25.05 radio and seemed to get alot better battery life from it.
Regarding ROMs, I agree almost anything is better than the stock Telstra one
Hi,
I've got a stock Orange Touch Diamond running the latest Official Orange Rom, 1.97. I badly want 2.03 for the fixes and tweaks that have been made!!
I'm planning on using the Generic 2.03.401.3 that is available from the HTC site. Has anyone already flashed this on top of the branded Orange ROM, did you come across any problems?
The phone already has HardSPL, not sure what version though.
I'm doing a full backup of all contacts/data. Is there anything else that I should do just in case??
Thanks in advance
Rob
lol, has anyone got an experience of this?
Best way is to try it and see. If you have any problems flash back to the original again.
There are plenty of 2.03 ROM's out there with even more fixes and tweaks to make them stable.
In my opinion the 2.07 is the most stable out there at the moment.
Have a look around and see what suits you best.
Will give it a go tonight and post back my findings...
Plenty of guides etc within here that you can use..................However..
I have just done this myself and this is the process I followed;-
Install HardSPL, now it is 1.40.Olinex
Used a working serial to get the latest ROM update from HTC site
Ran the updater and that was it..
As it's been said, all the info you need is on the first page of the ROM forum so have a look and go from there

Thanks for the info Trixster!
I've had 3 HTC phones, M500, M3100 and now the TD and I've changed the roms on all of them. I did get problems with the M500 as I used an Orange Swiss Rom. I've just never used a none operator supplied rom before so was just a bit apprehensive and wanted to know if anyone else had done it.
Will post the results here...
Upgrade was totally painless. Don't know what i was worried about.
GPS works a little bit faster, but not much in it.
The new 'g sensor' calibration is useful though.
Has anyone got a link to the latest stock ROM. Would be much appreciated. I've been searching for almost an hour straight.
Thanks in advance...
@nuke1, if you're talking about a stock 2.07 ROM, then I'm in the same boat. Anybody got a link?

The ROM in that thread is branded for the Telstra network in Australia.
Hello everyone. I am new to posting. This is my first so please forgive my mistakes. I have used the search function and havent found a related thread so posting a new one.
Iv just bought a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2. I want to install a stock HTC ROM on my device. Can someone please help me with the steps? Before that I need to know whether I can flash a stock HTC ROM on a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2. And would it be safe?
Once again I ask for forgiveness if Iv been ignorant as I'm new to XDA, and would like to thank all you experts for your comments.
Please help
I have the same setup as you; a T-mobile TP2 running a stock HTC ROM. Flash a hard spl (search the forums) and you can flash any other room. Simple as ABC. Trust me.
Thank you so much for your help.
But I have a few more questions:
1. How has your experience been? Is the stock ROM faster than the T-mobile ROM?
2. Can I flash a stock WM 6.5 ROM on my device currently?
I would be glad if you clarified these few things as I have never flashed before.
You can flash an official upgrade without unlocking. You only need to unlock to use custom ROMs you will find on the forums.
And IMO if you are looking for stability, stock is the way to go. T-Mobile USA official 6.5 ROM is very stable. However if you want all the latest features of Sense and Windows Mobile, you will want to look at some custom ROMs. Here is a guide to get you started flashing custom ROMs:

I put a stock HTC rom on my tmo touch pro 2 and its great. And so easy to do.
Thank you for your help.
And I have one more query. HTC asks me for my TP2's serial number and when I provide it, it obviously says download not suitable because I am trying to download stock HTC rom with a T Mobile serial number. Then is it safe to flash a new stock HTC rom that i got from XDA without a serial number?
Flashed my tmobile tp2 to wm6.5 stock htc rom!
Thanks to all you greats I dared a flash for the first time in my life and succeeded. WM 6.5 is simply awesome!
Just one small issue I have now. Since its a TMobile Touch Pro 2, my hardware keyboard is structured a little differently. It has ctlr key in place of the FN key as in the retail Touch Pro 2. So now my Ctrl key functions as FN key, and my Alt key functions as Ctrl key. Id be really glad if you helped me out with remapping the two keys.
See the sticky on the front page of the forum about the TMO US keyboard fix.
???
what is the sn for htc 6.5 stock rom
Serial Number
If u go for a download of the stock ROM on the website, it will ask u for a serial number, Instead search XDA for Stock ROMs. Download the appropriate ROM.

Where did you find stock ROM?
I tried one fromhtc.com and it says that ROM is not for my S/N
Here you go!

Just select the one suitable for you and download. Which device do you want to flash?

Hello out there!
I am selling my Tilt2 and I am very much considering reinstalling the original ROM that came when I bought it.
I believe right now I have one of the energy ROMs (which has been great).
I couldn't find the original out of the box ROM link, anyone have one to flash?
Oh, since I'm selling it, is there software out there to wipe the memory or does a new flash or the original ROM do that already?
Thanks everyone!

It's always better to put the device back as close to stock as possible to allow the new owner to customize it however he or she pleases. It's kind of hard to recommend you to the proper stock ROM without knowing which device model you have and which service, if any, it belongs to. There are different ROMs for different carriers. The original HTC ROM for the RHOD100 European models are different from the T-Mobile RHOD210 ROMs and so on.
Anyway, the link for the GSM versions of the Rhodium ROMs is HERE. If you need a stock ROM for the CDMA version, go HERE.
