Hey guys, just recently decided that I would reactivate my Sprint Vogue after recently acquiring the TOUCH PRO. I decided to do this because now that I have the best of both HTC phones, the VOGUE and TOUCH PRO, i want to app out and theme my vogue. I recently installed both wisebar and SPB mobile shell onto my vogue and also flashed to the new WM6.1 rom. My question is, is there a ROM or app that i could install onto my vogue that is a replica or exact copy of the TouchFlo3D that is on the TOUCH PRO. I know i will probably have to flash...."GASP" my phone to do this but i am willing to learn and since i have the TOUCH PRO and............."instinct" as my 2 back up phones, i am going to use my vogue as my experiment phone. Any help or guidance is always appreciated
There is no TF3D version that works correctly on the Vogue, as it lacks 3D drivers.
There is a M2D (close to TF3D but not quite the same) you can run on it, though.
nice so its here in the forum somewhere, pardon my ignorance, but i searched and couldn't find it lol
Here you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173 make sure you follow the instructions. It works like a charm for me.
hey thanks for the link, but that looks a little too complicated for even me lol, i think i will read some more and learn as much as i can before i do anything like that

A more simple option would be to unlock and find a rom you like that has M2D installed from the get-go (this is most of them these days).
Hey chipp any suggestions?
Manila ROMs
In the same forum where you started this thread there are at least 3 ROMs on the first page:
Vetvito's:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413376
WDM's
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425267
NFSFAN's
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432487
there are more, but this is a few for starters. I am currently using WDM's v1.6 and I really like it and have no issues. However, I have tried all of the ROMs by the aforementioned chefs and they all work great as well as include TF2D.

The best roms i have used is :
Vetvitos - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413376
OMJ - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30332
WDM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425267
Make sure you read about upgrading/flashing custom roms before you do this, as you can brick your phone quite easily.
There is lots of info on the forums about upgrading to custom roms.

Agreed... That option is idk you could say less hassle but its really not.. Because you still have to unlock and flash and then redo your settings but I think its a better option either way because you get a lot more freedom and customization when flashing to a custom ROM.. It will be smoother and an overall better experience for you.
By the way I have a TouchFlo/Manila 2D ROM in my signature

I was just wondering which version of WM6 people here have installed on their device. Please vote! I, myself, am currently using Black 2.5 and Radio 1.41.
Looks to me like "Once you go black, you don't go back!"

Same number of noobs it takes to screw in a lightbulb.
LVSW's support Chinese Plus better than others
I need to install ce-star to support chinese input and display,
LVSW's is the best for me,fast and stable.

I didn't start the thread to decide what to install. It's just for fun to see how many people have what.
Just *bumping* it up!
Black is the best, hands down.
i use them all at one point,
Black is fast and quite functional. Support regarding installation is very good too.
CUSTEL's 2.5
The best ROM I have tried out of 10 in terms of stability and reliability.
Custel's is the most stable. Black has too many bluetooth and sleep of death issues.
I havent frozen up once with Custel, I use to freeze three or four times a day with black.
Has anyone lost their wireless/wired modem function now, I'm on Black2.5 and can't use my set as a modem for my lappy, tried BT,IR, USB...none work now? I really need this feature to log into work when in the field. Any ideas?
edit: I let my fat li'll fingers do the walking and found it...AWESOME site guys, well done to all. You put MS to shame!
Im going to use CUSTEL's roms from now on. Forget Black!

After reading yor comments on the ongoing ROM poll, elsewhere on the Forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325872
I have to ask what is in store in your new ROM 02 Premier Plus?? Is there a time scale for its' release yet?
I have tried all the ROMS that come and go on these boards and am still very pleased with Artemis Touch 1.0 WWE - Full, I think it is the most stable ROM so far...
Can you spill the beans on your plans...
It will be released over the weekend - final testing now.
Includes updated audiomanager (same skin) but now plays when in standby mode.
Most of the apps are included from artemis touch full including hbutton setup, notem,1 calc lite, tpcmp, xnview pcm keyboard....
The ability to add cube by cab if required (blue design)
Still has 51mb total storage memory and 27mb free program memory after soft reset.
It runs as well as standard version
thx
i am waitting
What a guy, that's what you call a prompt reply.
Looking forward to giving it a spin.

It will be ROM without the cube in default ? And cube will be only separately installable option (cab) ?
From my point of view, it is very good idea !! Cube is nice toy, it is good to amaze friends, but I guess that most of people dont use it. I dont need any cube when I have HTC home ...
I'm looking forward to your new ROM
Hi Meschle
I eagerly await this new rom as your original is my keeper at the moment. A question, you say you are including the CM Keyboard but is the HTC Phonepad staying? For me this is far better for texting and was something I had been wanting scince getting this phone but just couldnt find an app anywhere until I tried your rom (my first), CMKeyboard is very good but still needs some care when using on the move. If not remaining perhaps you can let me know where to get.
Be good to see the new rom, just dont give up life to meet your publics demands
Thanks for your work so far

Heres the htc touch phone pad.
Also i would like to see this rom without touchflo as i read some people including me can't get it to work properly.
other than that this first version rocks big style. i prefered the mms/sms all in one also (i know some dont agree with me but hey, personal prefs)
Last few days - being bed ridden - had all the opportunity to install, re-install and re-re-reinstall all the roms circulating...I finally settled on the O2 Premium ROM - not because - I am not a fan of Tom's - His ROM was fantastic - the Artemis too was superb ! but my preferences lies in the fact that - if I dont use something - no point having on the phone.
My 2 cents on new ROM;s that come up -
The Lite version along with the reduced apps - should also exclude the Cube ! - I have been using the Toms 4.0 for ages and realized that I had next to never used the Cube. The HTC Home page suffices more than ever on that is required instantly.
Secondly - Apps like Acrobat Reader LE - should also be left out - to be installed based on individual preferences - it is 1.38MB in size and can be run from the storage card - so I see no reason to have it on the main memory !
All said and done - I think the ROM's provided by Mark and Tom are great and I applaud their efforts.
The Orbit/Artemis/Dopod - would'nt be the same without their efforts and the support of all their collegues.
Cheers
Dev
Thanks Meshle, your Rom is my favorite. Keep on.

You're O2 ROM is my favorite and it's staying on my phone. I would like the audio manager to play in sleep mode, but I just spent 2 days configuring my phone to my liking. Is there a registry edit to make the audio player play in suspend mode or is this somthing that requires the new ROM? If not, I'll live with WMP for now. Excellent ROM man!

Hi Meschle
Nice one
I downloaded and flashed last night so will play today.
But on 1st impressions it looks just as cool as original but now has all the apps from the Touch, exactly what it said on the tin!
And it has the HTC Phonepad, I happy
I shall post tonight on how she goes.
Thank you
Is the bug about the batterystatus traylaunch fixed in this new version ?
Anyway, keep the excellent work, thank you so much for your quality releases !
I really would like to try out the new wm 6.5 systems but i do not know how yo port or cook!! so i was wondering if anyone one has got a rom cooked up that they could share? thanks in advance !!
I am trying to get one brewing but having a hard time porting it. If anyone could help out that would be great. Thanks
I just built one with the 23028 sys. I havent released yet because I'm trying to get GPS working.
As for help, check out ali3nfr3ak's thread on ppcgeeks Vogue section. Thats where I got it all setup
Andrewwelton my man! Your the ****! I personally don't use the gps on my vogue. If you could post a link here, or if you prefer you could shoot an email, you would make me a very happy person. in the meantime im going to check that post out over at ppcgeeks, the new look is SICK!!!!
Hate to tell you mcluvn, but 23028 is really buggy and all the large style menus are TOO big. But, if you really, really want to try it pm me.

Personally I used it on a touch pro its still very much in beta and very buggy/unusable. Believe me when I say its not worth it. I was considering slapping rom together using the new "23034" build just to play with it thou

Weird, I've been using a 23028 build on my Touch and it is one of the fastest ROMs I've ever used and has no bugs (there is one issue with the OK and X button graphics), is fully usable, and stables. In fact, many of the big WM sites have said 23028 and 23034 are some of the fastest ROMs out there.
Maybe you got a buggy/bad one, or it was bogged down with additional stuff from the Chef.
I did find a couple of roms w 23028 here and over at ppcgeaks. I tested them all out and yes they were all pretty fast but with all the bars and menus being so big they just got in the way and block a lot of stuff. I will try to find the links to the roms I have tried and post them here so others who would like to try for themselves can do so. if you guys could to that would be great. thanks everybody

This is true. With the menu bars reworked, and the resizing of certain elements, some apps do not work correctly.

I believe thats what it is called. I'm looking at my TP2 and see it, looking at the Tilt/2 it has the space for it, but it's not there;
WHAT'S THE DEAL?!?!?!?!
What ROM? Not sure which have it/which don't... Some stock ROM's might not have it at all.

Interestingly I replied to this last night and it's not here, um ...
It's the stock ROM and WM V6.5.
I'm running SPB Mobile Shell 3.x but it wasn't there even before I installed it.

Is it a carrier ROM? Which one?
I'm not on the stock ROM, so even if it's Sprint I won't know if it comes with a task manager.
Why not just install one or flash a ROM with one...?

ATT.
I've tried about 7-10 different task manager files, none really worked.
I'd flash a new ROM if I could get some straight answers as to the most stable and useful one. Everyone has their favorites, so the discussion gets a bit muddled. I'm in a Motorhome right now and may be for longer then I had anticipated, so if I do, I'm not in the position to play/experiment.
Any ideas?
Well of course opinions will muddle the discussion of "most stable and useful" - everyone is going to have a different angle of what they feel fit those criteria.
I don't really use WinMo much anymore (Android is way too much fun ) but EnergyROM always worked well for me. I'm on Titanium lately, because I don't care how it looks - I just want it to boot quickly to get me into Android quickly .

I like Android, but with it phoning home, and the lack of audio through B/T (yet - I need a headset in the car and walking around), I can't use it on a daily basis - yet.
Hell'ava job though!
I've found ark-switch which works - mostly, so I can live with it.
Now if I can just figure out how add programs to a drop down start button, I'll be happy.

I really wish I could help. I made my own rom just like that. Pure Win Mobile 6.1 (I prefer 6.1). I would give it to you, but it's in Norwegian... If you want, you can download OSKitchen, and make your own rom. It's not complicated. Use the stock rom and remove everything you don't want. Play a little back and forth, and you got it.
thanks for the suggestions chaps!
