Successful ported old good xip.(No corruption after any soft-reset at all)

First i whant to say thank's.
To Bepe , Mun_rus , ervius , dutty , tadzio.
From his tool's and help.

(I search a solution for that problem about a month ago).....
I manage to port the old XIP section (First wm6 leaked rom) to the new Dopod rom.
Now when sometime's edit you registry and soft reset the ppc No pass lost no mail acount's disapear's No connection setting's lost and other's few think's....
So from cooker's the only think you have to do is to place the ROM folder in your kitchen and build your ROM.
The Os.nb is in Greek but that doesn't affect your rom cause the only think taked from Os.nb is the XIP section and some other info (Like build day (os.nb have the day to: 11/05/07) ,Rom version (os.nb have version: 03.10) on boot etc..).
So when you change your ROM folder with that and build you ROM you have the same ROM like before but with other XIP section.
Do not flash these in your device cause you end with a full Greek language OS!
These is only from Cooker's!
Also the Os.nb have the big_storage function (Merge extended_rom).

in FAMAN 4.0, but it's the only one ?
edit: my device is HTC P3600, CID unlocked with pof tool, running faman 4.0 no mail, gprs, wifi, bt, settings disappear !

I have used FAMAN 4.02 and it has the "settings lost bug". But I havnt tried 4.0

This bug is absolutely awful ! I can confirm it is present in bepe 0.79 and schap's 4.30 ROMS. It will be very good if someone confirm this xip patch is working, and which ROM does support it.
I have configured 4 e-mail accounts in my phone, and when i lose them with that screen-fu**ing bug I just want to kill myself! The last time I have not stylus-reset the phone but remove the battery to restart and i had luck, but i don't know. Now I have configured the a <soft reset> function on one of the hw buttons, and I'm waiting to see if I can gracefully restart the phone when the bug happens again.

I think i've already answer u
for the wwe version, u can do it for urself, just simplely replace all the files in XIP with this one.

Ok, good! But does it really help with this bug?
I'm not asking someone to cook me a ROM, but the truth about this XIP.

One solution
Hey, this night this bug crush me again. But I was prepared
Settings > Buttons > Button 1 (Hold) : <Soft-Reset>
The buttons are working, and all my settings are in place with the soft reset
If you use the hard stylus-reset, it is 80% sure your passwords are gone...
I care no more. I hope this will be a temporary solution.

This worked for me an I also got a bonus from it!
I used this xip section and not only did it cure my disappearing email accounts and lost connection settings but it also changed my device id back to an old id allowing me use the TomTom navigation program I purchased a while back. Each time I updated to a rom with a newer build, the device id changed. TomTom keeps a database on their server of device ids and product codes. When you load tomtom software onto a new device or a newer rom on your current device you have to reactive the tomtom maps (by typing in the product code that came with your map purchase). If the device id and product code don't coincide with what tomtom has on their server the activation fails and you cannot use the maps. I already used up all my chances to update my device id online and also had tomtom update it manually for me one time. I spent between $200 and $300 buying the software and paying for updated maps. I was disappointed that I was unable to use it just because the device id changed when I upgraded roms. I'm glad I no longer have to revert back to an older rom just to use tomtom.

not working solution for me

After all these contradicting reports and my own experience with the original Dopod rom, I get the impression that it's not only related to the xip, but must be linked to some other circumstance.
Some people lose their settings over and over, while others like me are mostly unharmed. I have just once lost some settings in my htc home, while password and WPA-keys were never harmed.
Have fun!

I read on FInixNOver Rom post that it does not lost settings. But I will try it by myself, because I do not believe in this kind of comentaries, where everything is sou beauty.. hehe

PhamQuang from PDAViet have just released another diamond rom, I guess we will have to wait for the translation, it looks like a build using the fast RUU_Diamond_hTC_Asia_HK_WWE_1.93.831.1 and RUU_Raphael_Cingular_US_1.90.502.2 and CE OS 5.2.20275 Build 20275.1.3.3
The free storage is 92.64Mb, and the free program 62.23Mb after instal, testing now thanks PhamQuang.

long press endkey doenst lock the device, even when i let it lock on the quickmenu it doesnt work.. anyone has the same problem? the rom seems to be very fast. 46% ram used after reset

same problem here.
for the rest no problems found yet ......and indeed a verry fast rom

I used his ROMs on my previous Hermes, they were extremely fast and stable so I will surely be flashing this new ROM
Does this ROM include Manila or is it a Lite ROM?

Phone Dialler Missing
So I flashed this one, and it is very fast. Only problems I have found are that
1. Advanced Config does not run - it show as having an error and more importantly,
2. I cannot see the phone dialler pad. It is there, cos I can press the numbers but it does not show at all. Anybody else?

I can see the phone dialer, so its there! Did you had a hars-reset after flash? do that allways, I make hard-reset 2-3 times after flash. Fast rom as usual from PhamQuang with pleanty of free ram
One issue: When i make a call I cant increase the volume. If i tap the up/down i get system and ring volume not the call volume?

Hi pafimal.
I am a great fan of PhamQuang from PDAViet, but alot of his ROM's have bugs from the outset, I tried this new ROM for a day, and it is not bad at all, but I prefer my 1.93.479.3 WWE ROM by default.
I have tried pretty much most of the ROM's here on the Diamond threads, and prefer Bepe's ROM's by far, I am waiting for the final version of his latest ROM soon..
I also flash back to my original/base ROM before trying any of the cooked ROM's, I learnt that from my Artemis days, i.e so as not to get any remnants of the last ROM used before using a cooked ROM.
So bottom line is it is fast and stable, lots of extra RAM, cool appz, worth a go for sure.

What does this mean exactly? Did they fix something in ActiveSync?
The previous Lite versions 9 and 10 (which I'm using now) have a flaky ActiveSync. It sometimes stops working after receiving a voice call. Also it doesn't always start at the beginning of the schedule peak times.

Guys, do We have some solution for bigger, finger friendly Start Menu?
I found:
TouchXperience - not released yet
QuickMenu - not really finger friendly
Htc Enlarged Start Menu - don't work with this rom
Do You maybe know better replacement for Start Menu?

The Enlarged Start Menu is working very well on this rom, I am using it already and have no problem.

well first i did not modify anything in this rom.. i just got it from the russain site (and translated what they wrote)
and second i think they fix a problem in active sync cuz i had a problem with it in the previous version ...

i agree,
but my experiences are that if you first use the "englification cab" and than install enlarge start menu, this does not function!
first install enlarge, followed by englification worked, here!

use the "englification .cab" on post #1 and/or install ez input (use forums search please..)

Can someone explain me what is the difference between the previous rom (which is now called as faulty rom. FAULTY YuE v11.1 3.15.20755 - Light, Extraclean and Light Opal Manilla 2D !!! )
I am using that rom and wanted to know what are the problems that were detected. 1 problem that I detected was installing of java. Irrespective of the number of times that I have tried, it would not work.

can't receive bluetooth files in Your New Roms

Hi everybody,
First , of all i have to thank every body here specially Roms submitters
Second , I don't know what is the problem with my Jasjam , always install last roms that joshkoss , TAI_Sw , kareem9nba , etc ...
and most of their roms dosn't support receiving Bluetooth files and i don't why
so i'm using PDACornerPro.V27 which is the most stable and working rom i had ever seen
so please can any body help me to make my hermes receive files cuz, I want to try ur New Roms

I had that fixed (included the OEM in my ROM), however when the volume on the taskbar issue came up, i used a different OEM folder and forgot to add the btfix OEM :S Will definitely get it in next time.

Sorry i havent a wwe version because there are so many wwe version
and so little dutch version of wm6.5 so i focus on dutch.
But if my roms being succesfull and theer are many request then offcourse
there will be a wwe vesion, but for now sorry.
I know there are cabs to translate roms to a different laguage
but i do not know how the rom wil respons.

thanks i hope you will not find a bug
only thing is the clock so far, i want to remove the clock on the taskbar
but when i remove the clock then the icons at the top will not display correct.
so when someone know's the answer please let me know.
People who want to see the screenshot can also watch the movie at www.skippycentraal.eu its recorded by mymobile but it's a little bit slow and shocky.

Rom is working fine. but i don´t know if its a bug but when i swipe left or up and down within rsshub it does noet scrol or change the items. It will select the text. On wm6.5 it would scrole true the diferent news items

Did you tried Advanced Config 3.3?? I don used it but i can remember that there's an option to disable/enable clock/battery on the topbar...

i have i think a little bug. ( runing tf3d version )
when i look at the time ( on top right ), there is a other icon mixed up with the displayed time.
but nice work.
where can i find active sync, ive seen it when i configured my email, but i can see the icon any where.

that's right it's also on the the chome version i have mansion before thats a problem i cant fix it yet so when someone have find a solution please tell me, i have not use Advanced Config 3.3 that i wil test later to shut down the clock.

though for my feeling it's rather an experimantel rom,
it's very very slow, manilla's position is not correct, a small part is cut off.
But with some tweaking this'll make a great rom when stable and tweaked so thnx for the hard work!

i'm have found a terrible bug.
I tested the TF3D version, and sorry but is really bad.
btw i did test also de other version, and that was ok, so this bug
is only in the TF3D version.
after installing, everything went ok.
im useing hardspl 1.93 olinex and radio 1.09.25.23 for the info.
after installing, i configured all my things. ( exchange mail + imap mail )
time. etc . this al was ok, untill ..
dont like all tab in the interface so i disabled photo, stok, reorded the tabs.
Now my device is saying. starting T3d again, and thats it.
No TF3D.. :-( and it really hard to work with the phone without TF3D.
in the end, it say's "Unable to start TF3D, tap here to try again, i did tap serveral time but doesnt work.
after this problem, i factory default my phone again, repeated the same proces and again, TF3D was unable to load again.
and then i tried a third time.. and it must be in TF3D, because this problem only happens after adjusting the TABs.
so if someone can confirm this nasty bug..
but nice rom anyway.

If you have a messed up clock-thing in the right upper corner, here's the solution:
Step 1: Go to start -> Tools and open Showcase Settings
Step 2: make sure "Hide Homescreen Icon" is active and press OK.
This will remove the nasty looking button on the upper right of the screen

Haha I tried Advanced Config 3.3 for getting rid of the clock.. but also no succes
I did the showcase trick, so that no ugly icon mess uip with the clock.
SkippyCentraal.. U cooked the best ROM for my Diamond This ROM is gonna stay forever untill sum updates. We dutch are happy with it!
