streaming radio free software download. - HTC Excalibur

I've been searching for a way to stream music thru my phone, and found this and was wondering if anyone has heard, or have tried this?
It's called LaVellaMobile radio, and the software is free and they're some free streaming radio stations that you can listen to, so you can try it. Now there's a one time membership fee of 10 bucks to become a member, after that you get a log in and password to stream 100s of radio station worldwide in digital quality. I want to get this but wanted to know first what you guys thought.

most of them are...go into tcpmp and go to options > setting then select page > file association.
for now just select everything. go back to that site. click it again
when tcpmp loads up you might need to go to file > play
but either way it will take a sec for it to load up

Install the TCPMP codecs Pack 2 to your SD card, also install your TCPMP Player 0.81RC1 to your SD card. The TCPMP 0.81RC1 is best for the Dash/Excalibur. The last thing you want to is check all the blocks in the file association area, the reason being you want to do this last is because you will be installing new codecs to your TCPMP directory. Radio you want, go to http://www.streams4pda.com via your mobile web browser and also go to http://www.todaypda.com.............!:D

Youtube on Excalibur. Does it really work?

Hi everybody. I just want to know if I can actually watch Youtube videos on Excalibur or it's an urban legend?
I'm using Ricky's v24 no opera version and I tried to follow the definitive guide (well, not so definitive) to watch Youtube videos (found in this forum using the search), I also tried Htc Streaming Media (a .cab file someone posted here) and none of them worked.
I use Wi-fi to navigate most of the time, since I don't have a data plan. My router has no blocking stuff (I disabled all for testing purposes) and I'm using Internet Explorer to browse m.youtube.com, but so far I got nothing but a "failed to find network" from htc streaming media.
So.... I really don't know what to do.
If anyone does, please, share your knowledge with me. Thanks in advance.
Easiest way is to use Skyfire it's free, also i use CorePlayer to stream of mobile YouTube.

Dude... skyfire is the one.... How come such a software is not a hit? It's almost perfect.... I'm curious about it. I'll try to search for it later, but so far... what a great browser! the best experience I ever had. I wanna say thank you all, for all suggestions posted here, but I'll keep with skyfire.
I use skyfire, and it plays the youtubr videos, but without sound.. any idea?
I use a Program called Vtap. The Program is small and simple it searches youtube videos, myspace videos and more and streams without any problems. If you would like to give it a shot go to http://www.smartphonefreeware.org/download/vtap-0.143

If that floats your boat. Skyfire is a memory hog, it has over heating issues (battery and processor) it will be ad supported (as soon as it is out of beta testing) so look forward to clicking through an ad every page click... na, not worth it to me.
Vtap
I use Vtap by Veevo. It not only shows YouTube but tons of other video on the web. Plays great!

I have to agree with Bupahs... TCPMP is definitely the way to go (if you aren't using Skyfire w/ a high-speed connection). I have yet to experience a player with more crisp, clearer playback than TCPMP. I found that the trick is you have to access the Desktop version of YouTube instead of the mobile version. The mobile version won't allow you to use TCPMP, but the other version will. How can you tell the difference between the two, you may ask? The mobile version will use a black background, but the PC (Desktop) version looks identical to the one you're used to.
I installed HTC Streaming Media and I access my browser through the Java application that should be on your phone (it came with mine) and go to youtube and I'm able to watch videos perfectly fine.

Any FREE media players for Dash?

As we all know Windows Media Player is a memory hog. Trying to send a text while listening to a song seems to take hours. Can anybody please tell me if there is a free media app thats better than Windows? I dont care much about video just something thats not so heavy on the phone that plays MP3 and WMA.
I did do a search and all I saw was people recomending PocketPlayer, but that costs money. I did find DivX.cab (comes with set-up files too), Im about to try it out but i really dont like installing extra software on my PC just for a media player on my phone. THanks for any help folks!
EDIT: DivX is only video, but it looks really nice for those of you who like to watch vids on their phone.

No PocketPlayer is the best Audio Player about with far more feature than CorePlayer with regards Audio.
The same in reverse CorePlayer is primaraly for Video and very good @ it.
So pair the 2 together and you have Multimedia covered.

Yes it can do both, TCPMP is just the early release of CorePlayer, to which is why CorePlayer is far more advanced in it's playing capabilities, wouldn't use CorPlayer to play audio or TCPMP as they where mainly designed for Video, where as PocketPlayer has alot of features and is pristine when playing audio.

yeah! pocket player is my main music player, not only for local content in my phone, but also has the web guide that you can search web streams by category or genre , does podcast, you can bookmark streams, you can even use your regular bluetooth headset to listen to music, although I wouldn't recomend it, unless you have a stereo bluetooth headset. It even has an equalizer you can adjust to your liking.

Gee, that was helpful.
Believe it or not, just because you personally can't deduce a reason for wanting something doesn't mean there isn't one. I'm with the op. Would love a way to do this. Why don't you go troll elsewhere?
A Online Radio
If it's streaming then it doesn't really matter if it uses the AM or FM band originally. Maybe find the station you want and see if they have a stream. Lots of terrestrial radio stations have a basic Shoutcast-style mp3 stream that can be played in all sorts of media players. Same goes for FM.
Between A Radio Online and StreamFurious I am able to get all of my streaming radio stations. Perhaps use google and see if you can find a URL that A Radio Online can stream, then you should be golden. Often the website for the station will stream it in flash or perhaps windows media, but there is often a plain media stream behind those that can be used.
Can't find streaming talk radio for rush limbaugh yet. Cumulus streaming is the best on the net but just not compatible with android EVO. Worked fine with palm and windows. Trying a radio online now

Well, it's obviously a liberal plot cooked up by Obama and Google to keep the truth away from us
Seriously though, I just searched for a local AM station that carries his show and found the link on their page:
http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/WMALAMAAC.pls
Add that to any app that can play streaming aac and it should work fine. Not sure if he allows his show to be rebroadcast but assuming this stream plays everything that the station does then you can get all the Rush you want when his show is on.

Where the hell is this Last.fm app? I still can't find it on the Marketplace.
Could it be not available in some countries?
Yes, the Last.fm app might be limited to USA only as i DL'ed it and used it here in the States.
Shoutcast?!??! or Windows Media ASX steams??? how do we play these?
I'm trying to play an M3U stream, the only way I can work it is by emailing the URL and then opening it on the phone. It works but its not exactly great, if the signal is lost it doesnt rebuffer, it just plays what it had buffered up until connection lost over and over and over again!

I'm in the UK & downloaded Last fm without any problem. It works great & is integrated into Zune.

Last.fm doesnt have the radio i want to listen to though!
sigh still no shoutcast
I am hopeful for a way to listen to XM Radio. I have an account and there was a WM app that made this possible. The regular internet on WP doesn't allow me to listen to my online account for some reason. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong. Has anyone got XM to play on their new WP?

Hopefully pocket player (conduits.com) will have WP7 version, but it costs you.

I emailed sirius about a wp7 app and they were noncommital about any app forthcoming. Hopefully it will come out soon.
I'm looking for a streaming app that has NPR. I usually listen to it on my morning commute but was using my iPhone for it. Now that I've moved over I don't have something to replace it. I'm hoping someone will come up with something soon as Slacker doesn't load well or load at all sometimes on my phone (htc Surround). There aren't any other apps for listening to NPR / public radio streams unless I over looked it?
iHeartRadio doesn't have the stations and has some audio issues sometimes.
Bumping up an old thread. I've just released a Siriux/XM app for WP7, and its live in the Marketplace now. Its called Sat Rad Player and you can find it at the following link:
http://social.zune.net/External/Lau...oneAppID=ecc794a8-aa58-e011-854c-00237de2db9e
We've set up some forums as well at http://www.satradplayer.com/Forums where people can get support or suggest enhancements to the app to make it better.
Check out the trial version and let me know what you think.

Yeah, this is a massive gaping hole in both WP7 and Zune's media playback capabilities. I'm hoping they introduce support in a future verson. I mean, it's not difficult. Sadly, I think the truth is they'd rather you were buying music from the Zune store.
Just one of many examples of the "dumbing down" of technology that seems all the rage these days.

Use TuneIn Radio for WP7... It's a great app
I am in France and listen to NPR everyday, but also WNYC, KCRW, etc....
TuneIn allows you to listen to both Internet Radios and podcasts.
