Hello group, I'd like to setup a panel or a new page where I can email a contact immediately kind off like it does already with the "new sms" but instead "new email" I barely text so I'd prefer this setup as I email more and its free compared to a messaging plan from tmobile, can the chome script be re-configured to use email instead of sms. thanks
I found the registry that holds the info
\Windows\tmail.exe "-service "SMS" -to "555-555-5555"-body
How can I change it to EMAIL instead with this format. thanks I would really aprreciate as this change would a nice and easy way to configure this on select contacts and still keep the default sms options
\Windows\tmail.exe "-service "EMAIL" -to "[email protected]"-body
and it launches ok but it does not open the email field, ti just takes to Messaging Screen and then I have to scroll down to Outlook and start the email, which sucks, so all I need is the command to launch the actual contact or email itself in the "to" field
any help would extremely appreciated.

Try these two.
\Windows\tmail.exe "-service "ActiveSync" -to "[email protected]"-body
Windows\tmail.exe "-service "gmail" -to "[email protected]"-body
The phone has only one sms account. It can have multiple email accounts. I think you have to enter the relevant email account into the command. ActiveSync is the default setting.

sorry can i noe wats the script to put so tat my button can get into message inbox straight away?
current script is \windows\start menu\messaging.ink
assign a button or create a *.lnk-file with the content:
23#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -Service "name of mail account" -open "inbox"
where name of mail account is the name of the mail account where you want to get. Don't forget the "" and mind the spelling of the account name (case-sensitive!). To get to sms inbox instead of an email inbox, use SMS as name of mail account.
good luck!
regards jan

If you want to assign the command directly to a button, you should leave out the "23#"-part... this applies only to the *.lnk-file
(I personally don't know exactly the meaning of that... AFAIK, the number is supposed to represent the number of characters in the programm link (without options(!?)), including the number and the '#' itself. However, my "*.lnk" files worked so far regardless whether i put the correct number or not... maybe somebody who knows can explain, pls!?)

Is there a to have messages count as "read" (i.e. decrement the messages waiting counter) when using the touchflo preview screen. You can scan through messiges when thery are still in the envelope this doesn't change the new message counter, you actually have to open the message to reset the counter. I'd like to have messages count as read when I flip through them in their envelope rather than having to open spam messages that I dont want to read.
That would be nice. Or be able to delete from the mail tab. Right now, so I don't have to open spam, I hit inbox and then hold down on the message until I get the delete option (if it is at top of inbox, you can just hit delete softkey). Anybody else have a better way or an idea for a hack like mentioned?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379265 you can put "mark all as read' with this .cab
Edit: noticed you said flip through them :/ i would like to do that also
Yes. I like that cab as well, but it would be cool to have more functionality from the mail tab, without having to open inbox. Right now when you hit menu, you have 3 options (New Mail, Accounts, Send/Receive). It would be awesome to get Delete, Mark As Read, Reply, Forward, etc.

Does anyone please know the answer to the following problem?
I have imported all my contacts from Microsoft Office using HTC Synch. When I go to the 'People' tab, all the contacts display as First Name then Surname .
eg John Smith
In Outlook they were displayed as Surname, First Name.
If I edit the individial contact, I can choose between displaying as
John Smith or
Smith, John
I want the Smith, John option for all my contacts. Is there any way I can get all of my contacts to display in this format without having to edit them all individually? I can find nothing in the User Guide that helps...

Same problem for me : a bit hard to find someone by the firstname ...
And I don't want to edit each of my contact.
I've searched the web for an app. which does it properly but didn't find anything...
Anybody here who got a solution ?
From looking around it seems Googles thinking on this is "Don't sort...search"
I guess I just need to get used to hitting the search key and finding my contact that way rather than scrolling through a list. I know it's faster, but my brain keeps telling me it's the long way round. Weird.
I have nosey friends, and private emails. I love Manila's email tab's aesthetic and function, so i would prefer to keep it enabled, and displaying a couple of my other not-so-private email accounts. Is it possible to hide/exclude outlook from being displayed in this tab? If not, does anyone know of a regedit or manila file which can be edited to at least remove the little account chooser icon on the upper right hand side of the email tab?
Any help be would be greatly appreciated.
Hey all,
All of my email and calendar settings are correct, and I am sync'd with the Exchange/ActiveSync for work. When trying to create a calendar invite it will show correctly in my Outlook client as well. The issue I am having is when creating a calendar invite on the phone itself - it doesn't give an option to mark it as private. After you've created the event and go to view it - it shows Privacy as "default". If you click "edit" on the event you don't seem to get the option to change it.
I know there are options for rooted phones, (I searched to the best of my ability) but wanted to see about a stock GS3 (you know how it is, work phone).
Any ideas or different calendar suggestions are more than welcome. Thank you for the help.
