I've recently rootet my Desire, and flashed Redux. Extremely happy so far, but my batterylife is not the best (slightly worse than with stock rom). I have not changed kernel or radio. So here are my quesitons:
- Wich radio is recomended for this rom?
- If I for any reason choose to go back to stock rom, do I have to change radio and kernel? Or can I still use the modified one?

im not too sure on witch is recommended as ive been using cm7 but once u flash a radio, it stays in your phone till u use your providers ruu file which deletes everything and brings it back to the point of which u bought it. kernels change on every rom u use.
Hi @all,
i tried to find a solution for my problem, but i still couldn't find one.
My Desire HD:
ROM: CoreDroid HD GB 2.3.3 V5.0 & FROYO V3.3
Android Version: 2.3.3
Sense Version: 2.1
Baseband: 12.28e.60.140fP_26.04.04.17_M2
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.10-g1418c33
Software Number: CoreDroid Desire HD V5.0
My Problem:
I flashed my original ROM with the CoreDroid HD GB 2.3.3 V5.0. Everything works fine, except the camera. If I try to make a picture, it seems, that the color depth is like 8bit. -> See attached picture.
Flashing another ROM like RCMixHD_v5.6_ORG -> same problem.
Is there still existing a thread for this Problem or does some knows what i can do?
Greetz Andy
That looks awesome
A question: Does the live view of the camera show the same picture? Or is it correct and only changes when saving?
Anyway I would recommend a full wipe & reflash of the ROM. If that doesn't fix the problem, there might be a serious problem.
The picture looks also on live view so bad.
I tried different ROMs and for wipe datas i allways used the Full_wipe_1.3.zip
I don't think that it's a hardware problem, because with the original ROM it allwaxs worked fine before i flashed.
I did following things:
- had original ROM
- downgraded from Baseband 1.75.x to 1.32.x (followed Forum Thread HOWTO...)
- Radio S-OFF and ENG S-OFF
- Flashed new ROM CoreDroid
- Radio Update to 12.28e.60.140fP_26.04.04.17_M2
I hope this helps....
Thanks
Did you already try other ROMs? It might fix the problem, if you do a full wipe and flash a different ROM, if it is ROM specific.
Have you already tried to go back to stock ROM and checked whether the problem persists?
Yeah, i tried the RCMix ROM and the Revolution HD ROM.
I didn't try stock rom yet. Didn't still found the thread with stock ROMs, so, don't know where to download from.
Does someone knows the title of the stock ROMs Thread?
Its definetely a ROM issue . So my suggestion to you is :
- Either the issue come from not properly functioning ROM or not properly functioning KERNEL . By re-flashing them , I guess you would managed to fix the problem .
- If you have made a BACKUP before flashing your new ROM , you should just restore your previous ROM and maybe the issue would disappear .
Ok, so i'll make a Kernel Update and try another ROM or Stock ROM (tomorrow) and then post you my results.
I hope that works
I die a kernel update, Radio Update, flashed stock rom 1.32 but this didn't fix the Problem.
Any other ideas that can be a solution für my Problem?
Hi,
I have the exact same problem with my DHD. Was a solution ever found?
For me, 'till today, sadly not
I think the camera sensor is busted. If you already flash lots of different roms and still not fixing it, best probable guess would be the hardware itself.
Hi to all
I have an HTC One X with CID = HTC__044 (ASIA WWE), and for this region still absent new update to Android 4.0.4 (2.17.XXX.X).
When I installed custom ROM, based on the 2.17 stock, I had the working device but without cellular network (no signal / no service) and with WiFi whish is working incorrectly (it couldn't detect my home wireless network, for example). The situation looks like my radio is incompatible with the corresponding soft from custom ROM.
I have tried such ROMs, as: ViperX, maXimus, InsertCoin ONE X & eXoDiZeD ReVoLuTioN with the same (negative) result. Then I returned to stock 1.29.707.11, cellular net & WIFi works fine.
So, the question: how to fix with problem without waiting for official 2.17.XXX.X update for ASIA? Or, if it is impossible, will custom ROMs work fine after official update?
Weird. as i'm not mistaken the radio file for one x is store in the ROM , not seperated/indenpendent. Thus, when you flashed a ROM you flashed a radio too.
P.S. Football tweeted yesterday stating .707. should come in 1-2 weeks.
try to flash custom kernels.

well it works fine here in India
if nothing is working then try some CM10 and AOKP jelly bean goodies and when new update for One X comes go back to sense or try flashing 1.29 radio
If you want to experience Android 4.0.4 stock rom with sense 4.0 you can try this stock rom.
http://www.fshare.vn/file/TKAW5A928T/
It's the official rom for Asia WWE with CID = HTC_044. This rom brings alot of power for our HTC One X. I installed it and had 6070 on Quandrant score. My One X is stable and smooth and working just fine. I'm from VietNam and my HTC'CID is the same as yours.

Thank you, but
1) There did you find this RUU? I haven't hear anything about it, and Google doesn't know about it anything too.
2) I can't download the file from the link you wrote above, "Download for free" button seems to do nothing.
Can you please reupload this file to any other free filesharing host?
This is version 2.14.707.3 for Asia region. I hadnt known it either until i accidentally found it in a Vietnamese forum. Maybe it's from the HTC Care Centre in VietNam.
(Some people in my country said that i brought their One X to the Customer care and then they had this firmware). The link i gave you is a Vietnamese link so may be it doesnt support for IP outside Vietnam. You can search Google for this firmware. I will try to find another link for you or try to upload it to mediafire.
Ps: that link requires you to have an account to download. You can use mine. That is a free account, it has no money on it so you dont have to worry.

Sorry, member, but I still can't download the file, even using your credentials.
I would be very grateful if you could upload the file elsewhere.

I wouldn't bother. It's not an official release, so it's either a trojan or test keys, which is not flashable without root.
I have CID 044, and I have no problem using 2.17 based custom rom. I'm using viper 2.0.1 atm and have no problems. You may try to flash radio on the viper thread. I did that and my signal has improved a little.

Could you explain a bit how to flash radio from viperx? I already installed viperx rom, but faced with the same problem - no signal
Hi,
Flash Radio_2.1204.123.18 with CWM...
It worked for me.
I am in Vietnam and I have helped my friend to correct the same issues as yours. Please follow steps as bellows :
- Back up your data.
- Search and download Rom 2.17.707.3 Asia WWE to your PC. Note that you should download .exe file to update your rom fromPC.
- Relock your bootloader.
- Run the rom (exe file) from your PC and follow instructions to install the ship rom from PC.
- Unlock amd root your phone if you need.
Hope this could help.

I did the exact steps, with no results.
There are 2 different ASIA RUUs with same base but different radios, I tried one with no results, shall I try the other one?

i was just posting the same problem when i fixed it. I have installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134086 on stock rom, then installed custom viper x rom and in aroma set backup modules (without it does not work)
I m so happy, i cant belive its working. I also had problem with battery, system usage was so high thai it was consuming about 15% on power saving mode in 8h at night, when I wasn't using the phone.
does this ROM is the stock ROM?
cz i want to flash it back to its original rom..
i bought this phone as 2nd hand phone..
so the owner newly install ics rom (evervolv ROM i think)
so how i cn flash it back..
my phone :-
baseband : 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
kernel version : 2.6.38.8
mod version: Beta 0.18.2.1
p/s,any stable ROM that u guys cn suggest to me??
MIUI prefered
Thx
Why stock when custom runs better and is nicer?
Sounds like you want a new rom, but still a little stock...
Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328
You can find rooted stock roms, but also stock looking custom roms.
Take a look, search a little, compare a few roms... flash one and see if you like it or not.
I've just bought a used Ace 2 which has come with:
GT I8160 (im in the UK)
android v 2.3.6
baseband - I8160XXLL2
2.6.35.7-1218501
build number gingerbread.XXLL2
The threads about flashing a custom ROM have 100+ pages and a lot of links are out of date. I wanted to try a custom ROM, eg CM 10.2 but I have a couple of questions.
I just want to be able to use modern apps, eg Tom Tom app. Google maps, Chrome, and I need to be able to use the phone in different countries, eg France, Portugal, Croatia. The current 2.3.6 is not compatible with some new apps so I need to upgrade.
Should I just update to the Jellybean Samsung provide via Kies?
Should I update to a custom ROM eg CM 10.2 ( i think this may be a stable release), if so will this be stable and have less bugs than the stock ROM?
Should I upgrade to samsung Jellybean and then root and remove bloatware?
I would like to try CM but I think it might not be as stable as the stock ROM, is that correct? Also there are questions as to the process and correct files I will need but I will ask that later if needed.
Thanks!

I think you should try it yourself. For my needs, I can't live with stock anymore lol. With my needs, I multitask a lot, needs speed and stability and so far I'm quite satisfied with CM11 built by ace2nutzer with his kernel or ChronoMonochrome's kernel.
For another option, I also like liquid smooth, but I kinda missed some features from CM (kinda forget what was that).
By this time, we already have everything that we could use from stock with alternatives, and some better. But again, try it yourself to know which suits your needs.

Ok, cool. I guess I can revert back to stock if I dont like it.
So I guess I just use the ROM from this link with the latest build date?
http ://xda.mister-freeze.eu/XDA-files/ace2nutzer/Kernel/
which is ace2nutzer.kernel.4.4.x_20150620_codina.p.l.zip
Just built 2 days ago, 20th June 2015?
Also what gapps do I need?
Thanks!

Nope. That's the kernel only. For the ROM, follow this link: http://xda.mister-freeze.eu/XDA-files/ace2nutzer/CM11/codina/cm-11-20150610-UNOFFICIAL-codina.zip
GApps: http://d-h.st/hrsq
After flashing the ROM, you could flash the kernel with the link you found.
That is really helpful, I would have never found the right files on my own

Try it. Then you'll know whether it is stable or not.
Anyway, so far no one has got serious issues.
Yes, ROM first, then kernel. That is assuming you are at least from stock Jb or any other custom kk or lp roms
