Broke me VZW XV6900 - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Just grabbed this XV6900 (VZW)...came with WM6.0.
I used 2.31.CoKe unlocker...then tried throwing OMJ.3.09.01.Custom.exe on there. It turns on and sticks at the HTC boot screen (since the ROM replaces the vzw one).
I have to take the battery out, no buttons are responsive, etc.
I can get to the bootloader screen.
Can anybody help me. I'm looking to upgrade to custom ROM to get WM 6.1 + I heard you can get aGPS working with like google maps and whatever.
tia....

Are you sure you know what you are doing?
Enter bootloader and reflash.
Before you do, make sure it reads "CoKe 2.31" on the bootloader.

Yeah, I know what I'm doing...I think I'm just getting some misleading info. I'm used to my Samsung i760.
The bootloader screen says CoKe-2.31, guess I'll try a re-flash with the same ROM.
Check back later...

Make sure you flash the Radio before flashing OMJ's ROM.

OK, I flashed it to Bell then pulled the battery out before custimazations took place. Now I'll try OMJ's ROM...
It's booting up nicely now...just won't connect to ActiveSync...lol.

You pulled the battery out? Why not just soft reset?

Was getting to be force of habit after all those bad starts...
Anywho..got it working with Bell ROM, installed Verizon's CAB...just trying to figure this phone out. Need to search on how to add my city to its' weather app, I don't see any 'cube'...this phone's gonna go up for sale real quick..

Forget the cube! Use Slither's if you really want the cube. Besides search some more, it's a device you will want to keep, trust me.

Battery
Its funny when you asked him if he knew what he was doing and he said yes and then he pulls his battery out to prevent customizations. LMAO

haha..it was funny when I banged ur mom last night too...!!

Keyboard issue after upgrading to NFSFAN's current 6.5 ROM

Hey all. I've upgraded to NFSFAN's newest rom - which is really sweet!! - but I'm having an issue with the keyboard. I can only access it in landscape mode; whenever I push the tiny button in portrait mode (which is the mode I usually use), nothing happens. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sigh, sorry for this but same question for you as the other fella with "keypad" probs.
Do you have the HTC Vogue (CDMA version of the touch)?
this ROM may be generic (non-carrier specific) but it is meant for ONLY the Vogue.
IF you do have the Vogue, did you follow the reccomended upgrade procedure?
1. Flash the ROM from bootloader mode
2. Hard reset
3. Run your carrier GPS reg.cab UNLESS your with Bell Mobility
If not, reflash and follow the recomended procedure, it cures many "wierd" issues.
don't waste your money,
hold out for another month and get the diamond2-has micro sd slot,
or the touchpro2.

No kidding,
I'm waiting for them as well. Just want to "feel" both when their in store to decide. I carry my Vogue in my pocket and will probably continue with that.
To bad NFSFAN got the first gen TP. I know there was a "get NFSFAN a TP" fund going on in another forum. Don't know if that's why. He did mention waiting for an HTC phone with the tegra chip. I really want my next phone to be one NFSFAN has as well, tried LOTS of ROMS, play a while then go back to his!!
For 24/7 stable use there just ain't anything better.
Yeah, I guess that maybe I'll wait for the others to come out, then. I do like the Touch, but its screen is a little too small and it's not very fast....
Wow, I must say that I'm surprised to see the iPhone winning in this poll!!

Yeah, I hope to learn everything I can from him and his vogue roms.
When the necessary stuff comes out to build roms for a
cdma version of the touch pro2 I'll definitely be
spending 99% of my time on building a siiick rom for that.

How to return EVO to Sprint store?

I'm one of the idiots who decided to flash the 2.2 pre-release before even looking for a rooted version. I'm a dumbass, I know. Being new to the whole ROM thing, I figured I would just revert my last nandroid when I was down playing with it not realizing thinking that without root it's impossible. I want to return my phone to store where I got it from a week ago. Is their a credible reason that I can get them to exchange it for? Thanks!

Tell them it keeps turning off. Tell them you have had multiple drop calls and that it freezes.

+1, they're gonna get a good refurb out of it anyways
Sounds like a plan, thanks. Now I just have to explain how I am running FroYo. (It updated itself?)

Are they actually going to check that? *shrugs* Think of a backup just in case perhaps, but idk.
You can always just tell them that you downloaded it from HTC's website. There's nothing illicit about that.

Sprint sent out the update to some ppl Fri which is how the development teams here got it some how... so just say you checked for updates and it downloaded.. plus your phone is not rooted so you will be ok.

Thank y'all for your tips!
I took it back to where I bought it today and explained to them that "I got this update the other day and ever since I have been having random issues with calls dropping out and haven't been able to maintain a stable 4g connection." The guy, who had sold the phone to me initially, took it to the back for five minutes and then came up and said he couldn't find anything wrong and that I would just have to "live with it" until the next update is released. I tried the whole I'm switching carriers threat but that did not work. He actually suggested I do that if I wasn't satisfied! Now, I understand that he was trying to do his job and reduce churn (I worked for another Sprint store and that was how we were trained), but to suggest leaving is just plain ridiculous (we would get fired for that)!
Having already been shot down and knowing the answer was still probably going to be no, I went to another store ~20 miles away. The guy there told me the same thing about not being able to return it if they couldn't find anything wrong. To my surprise, however, he said that with the last update they had a lot of returns and for that reason he would take it back.
I am now sitting here staring at a brand-new 2.1/1.47 EVO! I am getting ready to root and see if I can restore my last nandroid. Having learned my lesson, I think I will wait until someone comes out with a new rooted version of the final OTA.

[Q] Need help, I have a brick

Hi there...
So I have a slight issue. I've been away from the XDA community for a while now, and anyways, I came back and wanted to upgrade into the latest Fresh 3.5.0.1 Rom. So I downloaded it, new radios, and new pri pack, and put it on and went to work. Now that I'm here at work, I flashed 3.5, the new radios, and the new pri. Rebooted (I think I probably should have rebooted after flashing the rom, before loading up the others :-\). I got the wonderful green error arrow thing. I've had this happen before when flashing roms, so I pulled the battery, waited a few minutes, then put it back in. Pushed the power button, and now I have a brick. It won't power up at all.
So I need help, as I've never had a brick before and I'm stuck here at work, working on my mac laptop. Any advice on how to get the phone to start into recovery so I can nandroid backup would be wonderful.
Edit: I was upgrading from Fresh Evo 3.3.0.1. According to Fresh, I should have been able to flash this rom over my old version. :-\
Does anything happen when you try and power on? Ie does the phone vibrate and do anything at all? Also when you plug the phone on does the charging lite come on? I hate to say this but if you answer no to everything it looks like you may have a brick. But there is always hope.
I could be wrong but I think toy were suppose to boot the rom then flash the radios.

No light with charging, not even the most faint bit of vibrating other than my own pulse I do have insurance on the phone however through Asurion or however you spell it.
Also, I was going to delete this thread before you posted here, as I realized too late that this isn't the question forum
Wrong forum maybe, but its already here so its all good. With what you said I would have to say you in fact have a brick unfortunately. I would work on trying to get a replacement from asuron. Sucks man, radios can be dangerous if something goes wrong in the process of flashing them.

I guess that's what I get for not being more active in the community >.>
Gonna check with Sprint during my lunch to see if they'll replace it for free as a defect ^.^
Sure would be nice not to have to pay that 100 dollar deductible.
Ya, unfortunately you probably pulled the battery while the radios were updating. Good thing you have insurance, because that Evo is done.
Why not take it to Sprint? Just say it stopped working. Make sure to delete any suspicious files from the SD card.

Are you positive the battery didn't get super drained? Regardless, if possible, keep it on a charger in the meantime.

My battery was around 95%.
Alright, and what is this about a green error arrow? Try removing the battery for a few minutes, again and see if it powers up. Keep it on a charger.
After it wouldn't turn on, I pulled the battery for about 5 minutes, then put it back in--nothing. It's sitting on the charger atm; I might stop in at the Sprint Store during my lunch break and see if they can replace it without me getting hit with the 100$ deductible from Asurion :-\
Well, keep it on the charger. By any chance, anyone else in the office that has an Evo where you can test the battery to make sure it didn't magically die on you?
If not, try putting the battery back in and holding the power for an extended time...like a minute. I have heard that to work on occasion.
The green arrow was downloading the radio img. I think your pretty much bricked when u pulled the battery u caused it to stop downloading the img. Dors it by any chance enter bootloader if not itsbricked

Nothing good happens at work...your mac got jealous of what it could never be.
But unfortunately, you're bricked. When you go see Sprint, don't tell 'em you were rooted..blah blah...say that your installed the latest OTA and its suddenly not responding.

Right. Yea hopefully my boss will let me out for my lunch in about 45 minutes and then I'm going to head to the sprint store and see if I can get a phone headed this way asap. Thanks for all your help!
Random Question: Do you think they'll let me keep the mSD card if I tell them that I have a bunch of private information on it that I wouldn't want getting into the wrong hands? And secondly, if anyone has gotten refurbed units--do they send them with SD's equipped, or will I get to keep my old one?

Yup, you're definitely bricked. That green arrow meant it was writing the radio image, and a battery pull during htat process almost gaurantees a brick. That sucks man. Before you go to Sprint, I would highly suggest you clear your sd card, either completely, or just ensure that there are no ROMS, flashable zips, or anything that will give the Sprint tech a clue that you've been rooted and flashing stuff. I've read where a phone was bricked and wouldnt turn on, so the Sprint guy wouldn't have known he was rooted, but he looked at the SD card, and saw ROMS, kernels, and other things that indicated the guy was rooted before. The tech was a jerk and wouldn't work on the phone and red flagged the account. Guy with broken phone = screwed. So yea, either remove your card before you, clear your card before you go, or remove all root/flash related zips and files from your card. Good luck man.

Well if they are able to swap it right there, they should let you keep your sdcard, and they can keep the other one. And they would have to give you the phone as a "complete" unit, so it should come with an sdcard, and if so, you can keep it as an extra.
Also, just in case, take the sdcard out now and copy it to the mac, and remove all you "rooting" files, roms, kernels, ect and place back on the sdcard; in case they don't let you keep it...but they should.

Yea I pretty much deleted everything. Never know which files might look not good to have on there. My store isn't a full blown Sprint Store--I don't think they have any real smart tech people, but it never hurts to be safe. I'm still going to ask for the card regardless.
Thanks for your help everyone--I can't click thanks anymore today--apparently I'm limited to 5 per day!

Update
Update:
So I received an express ordered replacement on Friday. I'm was super excited until I saw the screen. There is a thumbnail sized bright spot. I'm assuming that the phone I got was a refurb, but this makes slightly angry. Now I have to go to a repair center and probably get a screen swapped out or get a new phone ordered in. Worst part about it: it's a 45 minute drive to nearest repair shop. NO wait, I lied, the actual worst part about it is the fact that I can't root until I can get it fixed
Random question: I had been away from XDA scene for awhile. It looks like CM7 is looking pretty snazzy now with 4G functionality. Is there any downside at all anymore? Before it was because there was no 4g and no HDMI. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Take your sdcard out and then tell them you just downloaded the latest ota and I have had one refurb with card and one without either way KEEP Your sdcard

Help me please, hard resetting phone...

I have bought used sprint mobile phone - HTC Evo 4g on eBay and when it was delivered it had pattern lock, after couple of tries it was blocked, I asked seller for the email address and password, but of course he doesn't want to tell me, he told me that it would unlock if I would do factory reset from bootloader and even gave me sprint link where it was explained how to do it, I tried doing it, but I couldn't do because I can't enter bootloader, I guess it's because fastboot is checked in settings and I can't uncheck it because without his email I can't get into phone and neither in settings. If you have any ideas how can I reset the phone or get into the phone in this case please tell me. Now I really don't have any other way just to wait for your answers, seller doesn't want to tell me anything more, only thing is that if I return it he will refund me, but I can't do it. So please guys tell me if there is any way to unlock it...
Pull the battery out, put it back in and hold power and volume down at the same time phone will load up bootloader, then just choose reset with volume buttons and hit power button to confirm.
