IGO 8 Skins problem

I have IGO 8 instaled and running great on my HD.
My problem is that I want to try some diferent skins. So I donloaded a new Skin in a zip file and created a folder named Skin inside the content, and put the zip file inside.
But now the option to change skins in IGO is grey and I can't change.
Anyone know why this happens?

Since nobody seems to know how to help me, I post the soluction.
The skin button only works if the skin inside the folger is the same resoluction has the sys.txt file.

can someone post some skins thatr work on the HD, and instructions for installong

I had the same problem but wasn't a problem. If you put in the skin folders a really skin 800x480 you will be able to set you new skin. If the skin isn't 800x480 the skin button remain gray. You can use for example a skin 400x240 but you have to set this istructions in the sys.txt file. For example If I use dimka skin 400x240 landscape I put the following instruction in sys.txt

You are forsing IGO8 to work in a portrait mode and all skins are landscape mode!Change x and y values,put vga=0 and highrez=0,change class from"portrait" to "landscape" and it should work.By the way,there is new Gurjon 6.0p skin for 800x480.It is fantastic...definitelly the best!
And clicking...search the forum

Ok, Only you need to replace data.zip, branding.zip file and sys.txt
iGO will be run in 480*800 resulation, to putting device in landscape mode, change Orientation from:

they are so complex and confusing as well, that is way I decide to open new one, but if moderator is decided to merge this topic then no problem

WRONG! The data.zip and the branding.zip are under copyright by NavNGo! So you are spreading parts of the program which are not yours!
The only configuration file is the sys.txt!

WRONG!!!
If you had bought the product and upgraded through the correct web site, the info is already included in the data & branding files for that version. You dont have to change anything in the sys.txt file to get landscape or portrait working in high res.
In fact your sys.txt file is wrong. You are telling it that the screen is 800 x 480 and yet you have told it it is VGA when infact the HD screen is WVGA!
Also, the above versions allow you to set up the screen orientation without modifiying the sys.txt file or (the latest version) you can set it to device and if you are using a screen rotation app, if manilla rotates, iGO8 will automatically open to that mode.

my point is resolution not orientation

Those 2 topics exist because at the time of the HD release, iGO8 didnt support the resolution 0f 480 x 800 in any of the data or branding files. It is only in the 2 latest versions that the proper files exist. The very latest version has support for the HD officially but the version before didnt (I cant remember off hand which file it is but one of them lists all the supported devices in alphabetical order).
As regards the VGA . VGA is 480 x 640 which is the resolution of the Diamond which was supported. If you look in your sys.txt file you have "vga=1". It should be vga=0 because it isnt a 480 x 640 screen is it.
If you are using the latest exe, data & branding files try this in your sys.txt file and try it.

driver=gx
and remove these lines -
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

I did what you are asking to do but it didn't run under right resulation, mine is working in perfect order, but could you please post your sys.txt

My sys.txt looks like this -

Those are the first 4 catergories after the program location.

I'm gonna chime in here, to say that Igo8 does support HD resolution.
I'm running the latest (10thMarch) Igo8 and dont need any of that sys.txt resolution tweaking malarky that was needed for the earlier versions.
With the correct exe, data, and branding files, Igo8 will run perfectly on the HD with no sys modification at all. In full resolution, not stretched or distorted
I should imagine these files are copyright/protected etc..by NavNGo, which is why I havent linked or posted them here.
The sys.txt is for tweaking Igo with personal settings...each to their own..

You dont need to set anything in the sys.txt for portrait mode. Go into settings and set the orientation to device and thats it. You will have to make sure manilla rotates for this to work properly though. I havnt managed to get it to auto rotate any other way.

No problem, glad I could help.
My sys file is a work in progress as Im always looking to tweak it. Im currently trying to shut up the "route recalculation" voice but as yet have been unable to do it. I know if I edit the ini file of the TTS voice file I use it will stop but I would prefer to find the correct entry for the sys file.

How do you install/configure igo8 for the HD?

I just downloaded igo 8 but I dont how to set it up for my touch hd (blackstone) can anyone help please.

what exactly is all that code for??? I downloaded Igo8 for my Tilt and thers no .exe file or setup file any wheres.

You must run AUTORUN.exe located in "2577" folder to install iGO 8. When you install iGO, exe file is located in Program Files -> iGO 8. Inside iGO folder, you will be find "sys.txt". Open it in txt editor on your computer and paste this iGO commands to it. Replace your sys.txt with it and start iGO.
If you don`t any map on MAPS folder iGO will dont be start properly.
application.dat is iGO8.exe file. Just reneme it and start iGO8 without install.

I did the same thing as you sad.But still having "Program application database cannot be found.Please insert original application SD card" I'm try'ing to use IGO 8.3.2 67483 which i found it perfect on my Diamond.But its not working on blackstone.The other IGO iGO 8.3.2.83157 and iGO 8.3.2 93112 are working but not this one.What should I do?
Oh sorry about this I thought that i should only change sys text in device program files.I also should change it in the storage card IGO folder this time no message as i sad before.But this time it says in advanced mode "Failed to open file :ico_findplace.bmp exiting application".Thinking that i wont able to use it.

Copy IGO8 & 2577 folder to SD, install, replace the branding.zip and some other thing.zip files in the igo8 folder then edit the sys.txt...

It means you don't have the resolution for it. Open up the data.zip in the igo folder and look up to see if 480x800 (or 800x480) is included in the folders. If it's not, then that's your problem. You'll need a data.zip file that supports that resolution.

Branding.ZIP\ui_igo8\480_800\loading.bmp is right branch for locate this *.bmp file. You don`t have correct Branding.zip file.
Unpack this ZIP file and see what is inside this.

I unpacked it, and it does contain 480_800's ui etc and also 800_480's stuff.
Could you maybe upload yours?

most ofthese settings are for tweaking - the importabnt ones are the Bold.
plus - you need the correct branding.zip supporting your resolution.
Also don't forgett that when you have installed igo with the 2511 you have a directoy under Programs which also contains the sys.txt - in this case this sys.txt would be the one used from the application.

Hi guys.
My iGO8 is working perfect exept one thing. I can´t choose Danish QWERTY (or other danish) when i´m searching for an adress, and that means i cant search after zip codes in Denmar?? :O(
I have searched the net for a lot of different lang files but i think i might be missing something because nothing works
The program language is set to Danish and everything else is working like a charm...
Can anyone help me?

J work just like that, but my navi works only few moments after instalation. Than, my IGO8 do not work, and in PDA device make new file:

I've been trying to install igo 8.3.2. on my new HTC touch pro 2. Without any luck, because the installer never finishes (simply quits after a few seconds) and when I try to simply run Igo from my microSD card (by renaming application.dat to Igo.exe) it only shows the splash screen for a few seconds and then quits. Igo than stays active as a process and can only be killed with an advanced task manager or by soft-resetting my TP2.
I've tried two official PDA releases (build 64029 and 87762, both with WVGA support) and various sys.txt configurations, all with exactly the same result (Igo disappears after showing the splash screen for a few seconds).
Even this (extremely simple) sys.txt, which should always work on the official PDA releases does not improve anything:

As a license file I use the well-known [email protected]_(NNG+TA_HUN_TMC).lic
The same configuration runs flawlessly on my old PDA (dell X51v), but not on my new phone....
Does anybody know what the problem is, because this problem is driving me mad...
There is also this thread I found about Igo on the Touch HD, where some people seem to have the same problem (with a different Igo version), but not a clear solution.

Almost the same with me ...spent hours on a solution ...but ....now I`m asking if we must look for Navigon or ....

mine is running ok. make sure you have the latest data file. which included 800_480 file. then include the following into your sys. file

Hi guys,
the problem you have I can only assume is the version, I had a previous version which worked perfectly on the Tytn 2, but it crashed out after barely loading the splash screen on the TP2.
Eventually I downloaded Nav 'N' Go iGO v8.3.2.71348, since then it has worked perfectly.
It took a minor bit of tweaking to get the maps working correctly as mine were downloaded from (Cough, ahem!) interesting places but now it's spot on.
The only problem I have now is that it basically just runs, there is no install setup like there used to be, that causes a problem as it used to allow navigating direct from contacts details, this version doesnt have that ability :-(

I did it! It finally works Its a license problem not a sys.txt problem.

Has anyone managed to fix the "failed to reserve virtual memory space" error that sometimes occurs when starting Igo8? A soft reset always resolves it, but isn't very convenient. There's usually plenty of memory available when this occurs (i.e. at least 60Mb)

if it still doesn't work, delete all your IGO 8 files, uninstall the program. Then read that forum from start till end

On my Touch HD , I did something wrong with IGO registery and the HD never started, only a hard reset solved it.
