After try and flashed many artemis rom, i found that there are few rom didn't support Chinese sms texts, i've installed the chinese font and software support, when i send some chinese texts to someone, they received the "????" mark, but i still can read chinese texts from my device, does someone have the same problem? and how to solve this?
u need the "use unicode when nessary" option ticked

下面2个键值的值改成相应的字体路径和名字，比如装CE-Star中文补丁的字体文件为sunglobe.ttf（如果你的是雅黑，替换为雅黑的字体文件路径即可）
HelveticaNeue LT 35 Thin = “\\Windows\\sunglobe.ttf,UniSun”
HelveticaNeue LT 55 Roman = “\\Windows\\sunglobe.ttf,UniSun”
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI下面的键值
DisableFarEastWordBreak = "0"
找到安装中文的路径：通常是\Windows\***.ttf,*****
然后去到注册表：HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink：

Hi every one,
I am facing some truble with reading sms/mms/email ... since i'm in israel, i recieve some messages in hebrew but i cannot read them since instead of hebrew fonts i get little boxes (each letter is a square) . does anybody knows how to install another font so that the OS will recognize incoming messages ?
i know there is a company that alters the entire OS into hebrew (EYRON i think), but i do not wish to do so. i just want to be able to read/see hebrew fonts...

Glad to see I am not the only one with the same problem...
I regularly get non-english SMS's. UNfortunately I cant even forward them to a phone with does have the fonts.... I am forced to carry around a second phone (T68i) just for receiving SMS's,,,,
mayb thz is in chinese or jpn text
or u can try cestar to sort it out

Ok, I have done a bit more research on this.
There is a way of installing Hebrew fonts (TTS type)
BUT
that wont solve your problem UNLESS you are prepared to read hebrew backwards

Could you please let us know how to install Hebrew fonts ? As a start I won't mind reading it backwards.
In the Greek Rom from Qtek devises in Greece, there is an application witch converts the characters wenn you typing an sms, and you can write 160, and not 70 characters pro sms.
The foto shows witch application is that.
I am also uploading two files, witch i think is a part of this application,
but it not runs on other non Greek rom devices. It's locked.
Can anyone help me, and maybe all the Greeks to solve this problem?

two days ago i've formated the artemis and since then configuring the accuweather for any city in my country (portugal) will give values of temperature to high, before i've formatted it was ok.

What is the purpose of already knowing the temperature and then saying acuweather is wrong?
But I think you have to complain to acuweather.com. I don't think it has anything to do with your new ROM

the purpose is not to have to go the web page i find out...
if the values come from the same place it has no razon to be so diferent (the web site gives 12º and the ppc gives 48º.
of course that in the ppc it searches for values automatic...
could it be something installed previously? like what?

Formula for degrees Celcius to Fahrenheit:
F = C × 1.8 + 32
That is pretty much the difference 12 to 48.
So I think your regional settings are set to show degrees Fahrenheit instead of Celcius.

Hi there, I got a Hong Kong version of Defy and using it at New Zealand at the moment. I found that I can't text any Chinese to my friend at another mobile network, all they got are just blank texts with no any text in it (It displays fine if I text to the same network). Then I tried my Hong Kong version of Milestone, it also having this problem. I talked to one of the support of my mobile operator, he monitored my texts and told me these:
For Milestone (Official Android 2.2, with the stock messaging application):
The handset is sending Data Coding Scheme 11, which is 00001011 in binary.
According to 3GPP TS23.038, when bits 7-4 are 0000 it means the message is uncompressed, and bits 1-0 are reserved. Bits 3-2 indicate the alphabet, = 10 means UCS-16 encoding used for Chinese.
Typically bits 1-0 should be 00 in this case (DCS=8). Specifically, the standard says "any reserved codings shall be assumed to be the GSM 7 bit default alphabet" so I think this might be the issue - since DCS 11 is a reserved coding, strictly speaking it shouldn't work.

For Defy (Official Android 2.1-update1, with the stock messaging application):
Those messages were all DCS 27. 27 means 16 bit characters with message class "TE specific". Weird.

He applied a re-write rule for DCS 11 texts and change them to DCS 8, which solve my problem texting in Milestone. But he can't do anything for Defy because:
The DCS 11 is meaningless so changing it to 8 is fairly harmless. But DCS 27 actually means something, so I would break other things using it legitimately if I rewrote it too.

I also contacted Motorola support and they say Defy only sends out DSC 27 and future updates MAYBE will solve this problem, and they say there is nothing I can do at the moment.
Can someone please tell me how can I make Defy sends out DSC 11 or DSC 8 like other android devices? I've tried 3rd party SMS application like Hancent but it doesn't work.
