[CLOSED] [ROM+KITCHEN+sUC WM6.1] Dia Duit ROM v1.7.0 - based on 2.11.70.1 - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Dia Duit ROM v1.7.0 final is out
for keyboards installation see bottom keyboard note
for latest news/changes take a look here
DOWNLOAD :
thanks to myself for original mirror: jump
MAIN FEATURES :
Based on latest 2.11.70.1 (from Orange, removed Orange stuffs)
Diamond Manila TF3D 2.1 + new driver set from Topaz, ported some basic Leo packages, etc...
LZX compressed rom... 130Mb free main space after fresh installation
Removed the annoying Ms welcome & manual screen calibration after every upgrade/flash/hard-reset, now is pre-configured so don't take care anymore
sUC (aka suiller's UC) is included (detailed sUC review/instructions) with it of course all Dia Duit features: speed profile selection, automatic backup (favourite manila people too), gps profile selection, planned auto-reboot, ramdisk, mobile upx (upxlist.txt), personal tweaking (by reg files now) + all the "safe" battery/speed tweaks I collected in several years, 3/4 rows selection, mail + attachments & documents moved to "Internal Storage", etc... note: the rom is fully UC/UC2 compliant too
Modded smooth violet buttons in keypad, commmanager, calculator & usbtopc applications, menu enhance
Connection Setup is NOT included, you can find 3 versions in extra cab repository (at top page): 1st from 2.00 rom (China included), 2nd from 2.03 (China NOT present) & the 3rd is the Topaz porting; install one of them like a standard cab (put always in your CAB folder); if you install/uninstall separately remember to restart to see changes
Steps to proceed with this ROM installation (only 1st time) :
before flash read here carefully all news related to sUC (because is included & active)
download latest rom from one of the mirror specified at top page and look in my signature for a fast upgrade procedure
after rom installation sUC will start asking you: configure general speed & GPS profiles; remove ActiveSync time change queue (stop popup every 5 min); left/right softkey configuration; CAB & CABi + REG + EXE + CPY installation/execution (as mentioned above) + upx compression phase, then choose backup method & eventually load a restore, restore previous saved Start Menu and for finish reboot to apply changes
then you can re-organize shortcuts in your "\windows\Start Menu" directory to fit your needs, then run the script "backupStartMenu", this will make a copy of your "final" start menu directory, useful to preserve your original Start Menu structure (in this way it can be restored automatically on next flash)
the last important folder (always under "Backup and Restore" directory) is "pimbackup", under this directory will be saved automatic pim backups during night (contacts/sms/call logs/et cetera)
some notes to know :
I don't like to get out every time the stylus, in my way the phone should be easily used with just one hand, so this rom is designed, where possible, to be used just with fingers: vertical bar is fatter, icons are more spaced & system font is bigger
pimbackup is enabled to make scheduled (automatic) backups every day at 4.00AM, remember for 1st to make a restore at 1st installation (a menu will presented at 2nd boot for this)
to speed up a bit the whole system & get off ActiveSync popping up every 5 minutes answer "OK" when asking to remove ActiveSync time change queue (of course ActiveSync will work normally when connected trough usb cable) & remember also to disable automatic checks (from AS application select Menu, then Schedule & put both to Manual, close tapping X & launch recover ram script... this will close automatically AS & will clean the queue)
about upx compression only exe files coming from cab installation can be compressed, existing exe files (cooked in the rom) can't be touched
I strongly suggest to upgrade your radio version too (I'm currently using 1.13.25.24, anyway find your best), 03 & 05 are really outdated, if you don't know where find new/good/tested radios download always at CAB repository (at top page or in my signature)
DO NOT remove the (automatic created) hibernation file "SwapImgDoNotRemove" because it's a copy of your cache, NOR remove files inside Ramdisk (the original cache) & neither remove MAIL folder under "Internal Storage\Backup and Restore" because from V05 mails are stored there
CAB installation is made seeking alphabetic sort, so keep it in mind when installing cabs that need a specific sequence
keep in mind that many cabs to work properly need to be installed into main memory (so not CABi)
CABi installation isn't perfect & doesn't work with languages different from ENG/USA, it work at 100% with simple cabs such as games, sometimes it fails on complex cab (license accept & various boring confirmation... such as iGO)
to restore the boot image (splash) to the original one (all black) simply download & install this package
special keyboard note: there is ONLY ms-keyboard as default, this because any keyboard set takes a lot of memory & registry becomes fatter, so install just the one you prefer (look always at repository below or in my signature)... so for example you can choose between FingerKeybd (very nice, download from XDA & here a simple guide to restore automatically after every flash) or Rhodium_EzInput (add Rhodium_EzEngine to have also T9 support... this T9 library works also with FingerKeybd) & above all remember that must installed during 1st setup, so don't install manually but copy your cabs in the CAB folder
WHY ALL THIS PROCEDURE?? in few words... I was very tired to re-install everything from scratch after a new installation/flash... so I thought about an easy way to have a fast & real "restore" after every flash
bye,
davide
ps: dia duit in gaelic means "good day"

Hm, this looks very interesting !
Looking forward to test your ROM !

it does look intresting. 1.96, optimized png and wav, and new drivers is what im looking forward to. TF3D version sticks out though, 1.2.345 is current, i thought maybe a newer version whould be included.

On your site : ROM_Diat_Duit_v01.diamimg.nbh - size: 82Mb
It's for test and it's : V1.96.710 ??
Thx for you futur rom ;-)

Seems interesting, but i didn't understand a thing:i can install my cabs in the "old way" too?
I explain:i usually flash the rom and then install all programs...can i do this with your rom or not?

no no that version isn't "newer"... that version is different because isn't native for diamond but it was adapted (from raphael if I remember well) but has some (small) bugs, the last one for diamond is 1.1.34575..., anyway there is no need to use the adapted one ver 1.2 because benchmarks speak clearly, there aren't significant speed improvements

well, opera wasn't included for 2 reasons, the 1st one because many don't like it, they prefer skyfire for example, the 2nd because the version included in this original rom was a bit outdated, so you can download from here the latest beta version of Opera mobile, I'm using it from 2 days and it works very well
bye,
davide

Hi,
just flashed your rom.
nice addons and feels very fast.
there's a bug in the phone settings from comm manager.
i cannot close the settings the normal way.
so all settings beside services cannot be saved.
any solution for this?
greetz

Network Adapters
HI,
what is a "Microsoft null Ethernet Miniport Driver"?
The word "null" sound a bit strange..

what do you mean for "close in the normal way" ?
thank you,
davide

Hello,
I'vejust installed it and everything is working fine... And quick!
Gratulations for your work!
I've noticed that the icons from some programs are being showed more then once.
I'll continue testing it and give you more feedback.

it's a virtual driver, it can be used by the system for network emulations, like for ex vpn

hi vibranze,
thanks for your contribution, will try it out later today.
cheers!!
Hi Vibranze,
managed to try out the rom, and here's some of the possible ideas you may want to take...not whinning here, since i reverted back to a original rom after that. Just hope to help you make something better.
1. softwares like resco explorer and photo viewer are great, but when i try to register them under my username, it seems to be unable to stay registered. You can probably provide auto installation for the programs, but not auto registration, since not many users go by the name of vibranze Same situation for handy task.
2. you could probably insert TCPMP for users to use, since its probably the best video player out there.
3. inclusion of a battery bar similar to the one used by SPB pocket plus. its definetly something useful for p525 users out there, since the battery life for the unit is not amazing.
thats all i can remember for now, but its a great 1st time effort. i look forward to the second rom, if there is any.
cheers

Hi Raven,
Thanks for the time for testing my ROM and the constructive comments, appreciated it You owned an Asus P525 too?
1. Yes, this is what I want to find out too. I tried Sorg's ROM and found that the owner's name is empty but the resco explorer is already registered to Asus PDA and it stayed registered even I fill up the owner's name. Any idea how to achieve it?
You mentioned auto installation, but after you install you still need to register it. By putting them into the ROM, you just need to change the name and re-register it, safe the installation step.
2. I tried to put it in but there is not enough space for it, maybe need to figure out what other files that can be deleted. I'm considering coreplayer since it has less files and all the plugins is already built-in.
3. Yes, I will put in the battery status indicator. Do you know any of them that light in footprint and free?
I would like to find the free useful apps with small footprint to incorporate into the new release that will coming soon.
Help me test it again, ok
Cheers,

1. He cracked it.
2. Core player is still missing a lot of feature compare to TCPMP.
3. I personally prefer Wisbar Lite and it's included in my customized rom. But if you want something even lighter. U can try pBar here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284952

1. Yeah, I also registered it under my name but when I change owner's info, then I need to re-register again. This is not the case with Sorg's ROM, wonder how he cracked it
2. I decided to use TCPMP0.72RC1 with all the plugins mentioned in pxdxa.com
3. I've got battery status ext, it's a freeware. It can display incoming outgoing calls duration as well as sms.

Hi Vibranze,
Glad to see that you are trying to come up with another rom, am looking forward to it. Yea, i've got a P525 too.
Celedial is a useful alternative, but is it possible to add in Smartdialing instead? I recall seeing a helpful forumer posting some must have apps for P525 and this was included.
Also, the WM new menu found in other roms from Jackleung and Sorg is pretty useful as well. these are the suggestions i can come up with at the moment.
hope this helps,
cheers
Raven
Hi Jackleung,
glad to see you here to give out pointers. have enjoyed your customized rom alot but sorely missed the E-java program, which made me revert to a normal rom, but kudos to you.
cheers
Raven
Smartdialing "was" a must have but Celedial beat it for smaller footprint, faster response time, better and more user friendly search (e.g. search by number, random search instead of search from beginnng). And it's compatible w/ Eten's phone skin DLL (smartdialing is not) so that you can customize yr dialing skin freely.
For E-java, I never run Java on my P525 and that's why I remove it. And you can always install it back later.

hi raven,
glad to know that you are also one of the p525 owner
i just released a new version, kindly check it in the first post. already included the apps you mentioned
personally i also feel that celedial is better and nicer than smartdial, only 1 dll file so it's very small in footprint.

Just one suggestion, it may not be wise to remove Windows Media player because TCPMP doesn't fully support MMS protocol. U need that to listen to streaming media.

Oh I see, noted. I removed it because of space concern. Later on I found that by directly add/delete files via dump directory can take more files rather than using addfile and delfile command, not sure why but this is a fact

Oh I see, noted. I removed it because of space concern. Later on I found that by directly add/delete files via dump directory can take more files rather than using addfile and delfile command, not sure why but this is a fact

hi jack,
I found this tool called CeleSetup (http://www.yonsm.net/read.php?300), looks like a new way to build and customize ROM.
My chinese is not that good so I'm a bit blur after reading the whole article. You may want to read and try it, then post another great article on building ROM using CeleSetup

I read this before. But don't see any extra benefit here since initflashfile.dat can do most of the things already

initially, i thought all the apps (including the lnk and registries) can be compressed in .tgz file and only run when they are being called but this is not the case.

[NEW] Mary 3.3.1 SL - (OS 5.2.1933 Build 18533.0.7.0) - (01.11.2007)- NOW ONLINE!!!!!

Hi fellows,
Well, it seems that the work is done! CREDITS to HELLONASTY and ERVIUS!!!!
We would like to invite you to try our new rom MARY 3.3.1 Super Lite, based on the latest available English language Operating System (WM6 5.2.1933 Build 18533.0.7.0)
80MB storage!
Aprox. 30MB free RAM!
This rom is so light, that if you leave your pda in the wind, it will fly away!
MARY 3.3SL - TO BE FLASHED ON WINDOWS XP: http://rapidshare.com/files/66073071/ROM_MARY_V3_3_SL.rar
MARY 3.3SL - TO BE FLASHED ON WINDOWS VISTA: http://rapidshare.com/files/66128715/ROM_MARY_V_3_3_SL_vista.rar
MARY 3.3.1SL - TO BE FLASHED ON WINDOWS XP: http://rapidshare.com/files/66603150/ROM_MARY_v_3_3_1_SL.rar (01.11.2007)

Pros: HIGHEST STORAGE 80MB, A LOT OF FREE RAM AND SPEED!!!!
Cons: It's up to you to let us know about it...don't forget to give us your feedback! Only like that we can improve the quality!
Changelog 3.3SL: Complete clean ROM! Nothing more to add...she's completely naked !!!!!!
Changelog 3.3.1SL (01.11.2007):
FLASH THIS ROM WITH THE MEMORY CARD INSERTED!!!!
-Complete clean ROM! Even more naked !!!!!!
-Even faster than previous release
-Working Smart Dialing
-Configurable MMS
-Colors and themes now corrected
-Windows Media Player, now fully functional
-Removed some useless files and folders (Battery Status Folder still inside...to be corrected on a previous release. If you install Battery Status-see link bellow-then the software will use that folder, so, only for those who don't install this application, this folder would be useless. Anyway, I suggest you install it)
-Smother speed
-Other small optimizations
-To enable the "H" icon for HSDPA, please install Schap's Advanced Config Tool (find the link bellow). However, even if you don't see the icon, HSDPA will be enabled if you activate it in Connections Settings.
This time, I propose to make something focused essentially on speed, stability, memory and storage rather than spending time with aesthetics.
So, inside you'll find basically only the Operating System, with its' basic functionalities. All the rest, you can install by yourself, according to your needs.
It doesn't make sense to fill storage, with applications that you will never need.
Concerning the aesthetics, there are a lot of themes out there...it's just a matter of searching!
I also want to share with you, the best way to make your updates of firmware, as most of the bugs that we find, are the result of a bad-flash. Most of the times, of you re-flash, the bugs disappear.
To avoid this, this is how I flash my roms:
1. Hard Reset your device, pressing OK at the end
2. Before it starts rebooting, make another Hard Reset, but now don't press the OK button. Instead, remove the battery!
3. Wait 1 minute. While you wait, remove the storage card and the SIM card as well
4. Put the battery inside the pda again.
5. Press the buttons Camera + Power + Reset (with the pen, on the bottom of the pda) until you see the screen with color strips
6. Insert usb cable
7. Start flashing the device, as you always do.
8. As soon as it reaches 100% on the screen of the pda, it becomes black for a couple of seconds. Then, make a hard-reset, and press ok.
9. Make another hard reset, but now, but now don't press the OK button. Instead, remove the battery!
10. Wait 1 minute
11. Re-insert the battery, memory card and SIM card
12. With the pen, press the reset button on the bottom of the pda until it starts.
13. Have FUN!!
P.S - I WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT RESULT ON USING THIS ROM OR FLASHING PROCESS. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
If you still have problems flashing, I advise you to see this page: http://www.trinityguides.info/
For those who loose their WIFI settings after a softreset, please follow these instructions (thank's dta1974):
[!] For prevent password and account dissapearing u should (you should make this procedure immediately after first soft reset ):
1. Set up your connection settings
2. Open IExplorer / Set up Internet connection / Open some internet page
3. Click Disconnect button to close internet connection
4. Hold power button and turn off your phone
5. Power on your phone.
After that procedure your password wont disapear. I think that you should repeat the same for mail account (set up mail account / try to send or recieve your mail / hold disconnect button / turn off your phone)
We hope that this meets to your expectations!!!

No, it won't be inside the rom. However, there will be links to the most popular softwares (cab). In this case, each one of us can install only what we need
This is the idea behind: have a system looking exactly how you like, and not how the cookers like. Have the software you think it's important, and not the software that the cooker thinks is important.
Bye
P.S- Does anyone have Microsoft Office splitted in cabs: one cab for Word, another for Powerpoint, another for Excel and another for One Note?
Having this, we can install only the office applications that we need!! If anyone has it, please post the links.

waiting with bated breath! This sound very interesting!!!
But just how lite is lite?
Nice one, would be cool if *someone* made a GUI to automagically download new base roms, packages(from a central repository). You would download the GUI, select base, packages, mui files(?), press 'Cook', flash(SD Card method allowed).

Just to inform that there is already a ROM like that from Sammy Deluxe:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324804
Of course if this is what the cook want, then it's great to have a nice and clean ROM , but then again, we cannot complaint if the cooker make HIS ROM with a lot of apps.
I hope this release can be the best of all, after all it is made by a PORTUGUESE 'dude'

Hi,
That's the difference between previous roms and this one: the previous roms were roms made for the cooker, and then he shared it with us.
This rom, is not about what the cooker likes, but instead, about making it 99% customizable.
That's the magic word: CUSTOMIZABLE

RELEASED!!!!

Some tips to cookers to obtain this free storage?
Nice, will try asap.
Has anyone read my previous post? I can provide storage&bandwidth if anyone's willing to create that 1-click kitchen Í described(it could support various rom&pkg repositories, I'd host one for sure).

[LG Ks20] [20Oct09] WM6.1 KisS20.5b Rom (5.2.20755) [WWE]

Tadam, here it is, the long awaited (vaporware ? ), KisS20.5 rom. It might not bring you everything you expected, nor will it turn your ks20 into a brand new touch hd or whatever, but I think it's a bit better than KisS20.4.
As you've all waited for a long time, I'm also releasing a beta KisS20.x, work in progress on wm6.5 builds.
But, first, thanks to everyone who helped me building this rom here on xda and on Forum Mobiles, and special thanks to misterJP whose great work made all this possible.
::Tools & help: MisterJp, CopsFrance, Bepe, Ervius, No2Chem, Da_G, Cmonex, rickou26, weapons.b, farahbolsey, thorfr
Thanks to them. Forgive me if I forgot somebody.
ROM Information:
::Based on Diamond : CE 5.2.21109, build 20755.1.4.0 (full Xip+Sys Port)
::Based on 10E (february 2009 - spanish rom) for Modem/OEM/Drivers part
::Built with homemade kitchen
::For the start, only WWE version available
The philosophy behind this ROM is to have a small/optimized OS that could be easily personnalized. That's why I've only included small apps that don't evolve so much. Thanks to Preset Installer compliancy, all you have to do is to follow this tutorial to have your favorite apps automatically installed at first boot (you can choose for the apps you want, you're not forced to install everything). For those who prefer a zero effort Out Of the Box Experience, I'm also providing my own PI Package (it needs more work, but it's a good start). If you build one and want to share (only free apps, please), contact me and I'll update this post.
This rom is almost clean and most of the personalization stuff are in PI package, so if you want to do it by yourself, just don't install it.
I hope it's stable for everybody, if no bugs are found, I'll make localized builds. I'm still working on graphic driver replacement, but it's more complicated than I 1st thought, due to the fact that ks20 underlying drivers are built for wm6.0 and not wm6.1 (drivers architecture changed a bit, which makes almost any driver replacement break some dependancies)
For those who ask why flashing this rom over their stock lg rom :
::More speed (thanks to lots of optimizations)
::More stability (thanks to latest available lg drivers)
::Less battery consumption (thanks to WM6.1)
::Bugs fixed (but some are still there)
::SDHC support
What I didn't do :
* Didn't fix the gsm reload and backup battery bugs on recent builds. It doesn't impact KisS20.5 and has a low impact on KisS20.X build)
* Didn't include Extendir because it takes almost 10mb of ram, and there are still a few bugs (incompatibilities with some .net apps). As soon as it's good for our device (this shouldn't be long), I might update the rom to include it.
* Didn't include NetCF3.7 because it's a beta that has some compatibility issues (and don't include directx support).
* Didn't make a LZX version : need to do some tests to be sure it doesn't impact performance (doesn't seem it does, but I prefer to be sure). Anyway, it's not very useful as we wouldn't gain any program memory until someone () fixes the tools used to rebuild the rom.
Features:
Removed:
NetCF2.0
Microsoft Office One Note Mobile
Sample Music
Catalog
Welcome Center
LG Java Mobile
Included:
Microsoft Office 6.1
VoIP
NetCf3.5
PocketRar 3.8
Total Commander 2.5
FdcSoft Pim Backup 2.8
FdcSoft Task Manager 3.1
Esmertec JBed (2009 version)
Tweaks:
Too much to list
Known issues:
VOIP still doesn't work (not a real bug though, as it doesn't work either in official LG rom)
KisS20.5 : to have battery display in taskbar -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock=0
KisS20.X suffers from gsm reload (shouldn't be a real problem), "backup battery very low" popup when battery is fully charged (both are due to drivers incompatibilities). There are also some issues directly related to wm6.5 build (each build has its owns bugs). No, 21234 "final build" is not bug free, it's more an "api freeze", so I guess the best is to use recent builds and hope upcoming builds will fix more bugs than they will add . If you only have 1 icon in start menu (the today icon), restart your phone and try to wait a few seconds more before entering your sim code.
Depending on the feedback I have, I may release a small rom update to fix possible bugs. If you don't want to flash twice in a week, you might want to wait a few days before flashing to be sure it's stable.
Upgrade Instructions:
THIS ROM IS ONLY TARGETED TO UNBRANDED PHONES.
If you have a branded phone, make a backup of your nv2 using LGMDP and then unbrand your nv2 using one of the tools present in "NV TOOLS" folder (both should work)(don't worry, you can do the opposite operation anytime you want). If you have any question, ask here. Flash to 20.4 or other unbranded rom and restore your newly unbranded nv2 (with LGMDP connected in normal mode)
READ CAREFULLY THE ABOVE LINE PLEASE
OK, ONCE AGAIN, JUST TO BE SURE.
If you want to use Preset Installer pack, it's time to unpack it to your sdcard
Connect Ks20 to LgMdp in Emergency mode as described here (or use the tutorial/drivers/software pack from ibanezman192 located in post 3)
Choose "Select Image", then click on "Original" button
On the first line, select the folder where you expanded the rom. Following lines should be filled automatically
Click on start and go drink some beer
When flash is finished (in approximately 10min), if you're using preset installer, it will prompt automatically so that you choose the cabs you want to install. When it's finished, reboot your phone and start using it

::Updated a few tweaks
::Added Extendir
[11 Jul 2009] KisS20.X Rom 5.2.23004 / Build 23004.5.3.0
This rom is a work in progress on wm6.5 and still has the few famous bugs. Although this generally doesn't prevent a normal use, if you absolutely need a stable rom (for work or whatever) or plan to use an Ui replacement (SPB, Manila...) which makes titanium useless, I suggest you to use the wm6.1 KisS20.5 until we manage to fix those annoying bugs (it might be a little bit faster, and use 5Mb less ram).
Apart from wm build, it's the same than KisS20.5.
[11 Jul 2009] KisS20.5 Rom 5.2.21109 / Build 20755.1.4.0
::Only unbranded version with latest Radio available (10E)
::Updated KS20 drivers to latest stock LG rom (10E - february 2009) + some other devices (Lg Incite, Toshiba G810)
::Added hardware acceleration support for most of the games available.
:atched kernel + some drivers for better performance
::Rewrote Lg InitApp (1st boot is faster / cleaner)
::Rewrote Camera Patch to have a faster load (c++ instead of .net)
::Wrote a small Shutdown app (shortcuts in Startmenu\System). You can use it in scripts with parameters : you can softreset (-r), hardreset (-h), shutdown (no param), + possibility to remove confirmation popup (-s).
::Changed "User Customization" to "Preset Installer" (you can choose programs to install on 1st boot).
::Fixed A2DP without the help of SRS Wow HD
::Removed SrsWowHd (you can still install it afterwards if you want)
::Updated apps (EsmertecJBed, PocketRar)
::Added direct access to Lg internal apps (engineer menu...)
::Added Arthemus' dialer skin/taskbar
::I knew it was a weak point on KisS20.4, so I really worked hard to optimize memory. There is almost 50% free memory more than in KisS20.4 (more than 51Mb free on 1st boot in KisS20.5, 46Mb on KisS20.X).

FAQ
I've got a message "trying to communicate with the phone" during flash and nothing else happens.
Try this.
My Wifi disappears sometimes in connection manager
Wifi driver is initiated during the boot, if it's not visible in connection manager (and the blue led blinks every 2 secs or so, just reboot your phone, that should fix it). The other reason wifi driver disappears is when you're connected to your pc through activesync. As soon as your disconnect, it's enabled again.
What's needed to build a rom for any language ?
Windows mobile comes into multiple packages (os, phone, office, shell, voip....) containing the programs. Most of these packages have a brother package containing the resources for a specific language (office_0409, phone_0409)...
OEM drivers made by lg also come into packages (oem_drivers, oem_bt...) and some of these packages have a brother package for the specific language (oem_bt_0409...)
To translate a rom, I need the packages for the related language (oem and wm).
Getting the packages for OEM is not difficult as I just need to unpack an official ks20 rom of the right language to get them. (so it means that this particular rom has to be downloaded somewhere on the web). But it takes some time to do it, so it's better if you give me just what I need (the whole oem folder is good). For that, just get my kitchen and follow the steps until you have an oem folder.
Getting packages for WM is more difficult because I can't take those from ks20 official rom as they are wm6.0 version and some don't contain everything needed. So I need to have the packages from a wm6.1 version. Just giving me a link to an HTC (or whatever) rom for this language is not sufficient because it would require me to find myself a way to extract this particular rom (if it's not protected, can be extracted and can be rebuilt) which takes time. So what I need is an archive containing packages, so that I don't spend multiple hours try to find how to get them. There are 2 ways to get them :
* get a rom for this language from any device, get a kitchen to extract the rom, extract it, rebuild packages, give me any 0409, 0408 or whatever packages it contains (be careful, I need packages, not only files whose name contain 040x).
* ask somebody who made a rom for this language to give you his packages.
Of course, I need the biggest number of packages you can find (for exemple, I include office in my roms, so if you find packages, but not the one for office, the rom won't be constructed correctly, when I'll do it, or it would need to be constructed without this specific package, which means it may show bugs not present on english/french roms, something I don't want to do.). A soon as I get all the packages I need, I should be able to construct a KisS20 rom for this language.
Please note that for wm6.5, I'll need wm6.5 packages, not wm6.1 (in wm6.5, many things have changed and some packages were added, so using packages from a 6.1 rom surely won't work).

Is it the one from the French rom ? the one from the HK rom has HK operator profiles, while the one from the French rom has the French ones, (such as Orange, SFR, etc etc)
As I've taken localisation files from the 10f branded, I guess profile information is empty. I'll check and update rom tonight if necessary.

Hi spocky12, are you ready to upload the new WM6.1 WWE ROM??
Maybe add a better (Touch-like) dialer, FTouchFlo and support for microSDHC cards?
Also, add a drop-down task manager in the upper right corner (don't if that's what you call Task Manager, though).
Finally, I personally like iContact better, as it starts faster than PocketCM
Almost everyting works as it should. I'll post it as soon as a figure out why camera can't take pictures anymore
As for user customization, it'll be up to you. Next rom will be UC compliant so I'm only working on os files/drivers with only a few tools embedded.

I can't flash these days but I'm sure it's a perfect build with Voip working!!
(If anyone try give us answers, will try throught BT headset less than I week).
Once In France will feed U throught you're "signature" because men, if Voip works U change my life!!!! ( and bills!!!)
PS: oh SRS built in!!! (but still tweaky for BT headset...thx XDA-DEV)
THX again
Now it's working
Is it in French ?
As their name says, FR version is in FRench and WWE version is in World Wide English.
I successfully flashed and tested the Franch branded rom and there are a few issues (beside the camera)
- Contacts are broken, impossible to browse and add contacts using the contacts menu on this rom (installing pocket contact manager partially fixes this issue)
- No profile selector, not everyone uses crappy vodaphone live and SFR operator. (this can be fixed by manually entering the settings but it is annoying to do so, especially on a rom that is supposed to be unbranded)
- Only partially compatible with CE-Star which is a REAL disadvantage for people using their phone to read/write chinese and japanese texts.
There are real improvemments though
- The rom seems more stable
- The rom runs much faster
- The rom boots faster.
If it was not for the contacts issue I would have kept this rom, but contacts menu is just a must have on any phones.
Also the unworking camera is a big issue but I can leave with it.
Thank you for your feedback. That's exactly the kind of problems I expected and that's why this rom is in beta stage.

There's a tool called Autoprofile.exe in windows directory and I put a bunch of xml files for operator selection. Start menu shortcut is missing though. It'll be there in next release. Is this what you were talking about or is this something else ?

Could you please tell me more about this ? What do you mean by "partially compatible" ? Are other WM6.1 roms for htc phones supporting this completely ? If so, do you know how or what I should do to test (I don't speak chinese or japanese) ?

UNSIGNED HARDSPL IS NECESSARY!
ATTENTION!
Taked out files:
ConnectionSetup's provizion.zip - base of providers.
Part of Opera broser - Opera_addon.
Not see the reason to keep about 4M of "dead cargo" in the ROM.
Now - possible to keep it at the Internal Storage.
Mark CAB files in Internal Storage/_Install as READ-ONLY! or you can loose them after install the ROM or hard reset.
And don't forget to make HardReset after install.

Info below - for cookers only! You will need hardreset after it! Because your notification system will be damaged. Do it without reboot & don't forget disconnect the PC cable after copy mxip.notify.vol
A:
You need to add your app to M$ event system. (event "wokeup" - is one of standards)
Standard file of notifications - sys/shell/mxip.notify.vol
Steps:
Copy mxip.notify.vol to the \temp, for example. (at the device)
Open it by dbExplorer .
As Type: "external database volume"
Path for "external volume file" now: \temp\mxip.notify.vol
You will see 1 type db ~ 8-10 strings (don't remember exactly)
Make backup of selected database.
Then open \mxip.notify.vol (working file)
Make restore db from backup (erase?-yes)
We have the standard (clean) events system for editing now.
Use FDC taskmanager (included in "Nalaly") for it.
Open the "notifications" bookmark.
You can delete:
ceipui.exe strings,
one of repllog.exe (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=81)
And can add own string, of course.
I did 2 scripts for events: "wokeup" & "net shutdows"
You limited by your fantasy only.
Next step - make backup again, after changes (the working db - DB_notify_events)
As selected db also.
Then open again "non touched" \temp\mxip.notify.vol
Restore the last backup to it.
We have edited mxip.notify.vol for kitchen now.
Fuu-uh.
Interesting...hope there's good support . Will check it out.
the down and let me just say that it is super, super fast.
Congratulations and thank you for your work
will check it out & report any bugs in the next couple of days
I've only had my Diamond for a month. Have been using Dutty ROMs the whole time but since he is stopping with them I thought I'd look around at soemthing else.
I was reading your other thread last night and was going to start playing with that kitchen, but I might just have to give this a try!
I've flashed it and testing now.
First thing is, no matter how many times I run connection setup, it never works. It appears to work, then does a soft reset. But when I check Connectins > Connections > Advanced, there are no connections setup.
I am with Australia > Telstra. I have never had this problem with other ROMs.
The one that pops up automatically, seems to keep appearing after every soft reset. Yet every time it doesn't create any settings.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Connection Setup but still nothing.
I'll have to go back to Dutty until this is fixed which is a shame as this ROM is VERY fast! Great work, I'll stick around, hopefully I can help find more bugs and get this ROM running sweet
Thanks for info, I'll fix it.
this rom is the fastest i've ever tried! keep up the good work! im waiting for the connection setup bug to be fixed
Pity, but connection setup didn't want to work normally outside the ROM.
But not the huge basefile (provision.zip)
So, I did rebuild the ROM & distributive at all.
Uploading now.
Excellent, I'll flash as soon as it's uploaded!
Thanks
Thanks for attentive look!
Your help is important to me: difficult to work without mistakes at all.
.....done, - see the first post.
I've been using this ROM for a week now, I can recommend it to everyone.
It's fast and has no bugs to me (I use a version without Connection Setup).
Furthermore it's a good idea from mondilv to leave the Opera and keyboard out (at least in my version they're out...) so everyone can install it's own version of these programs.

..does this rom include office (excel, winword..)?
Yes, just those two are included from the Office pack
I gave it a try and it really is good, very fast and fluid manila..
The only thing I missed was HTC keyboard, but because it is a light rom, I can understand that... so far, the rom works as it should..41% program memory used on first boot, and 144 mb of ram for storage...lots of reserve, just as i like.
Thumbs up, chef...thanks mondilv

Sure, Opera part & provision.zip are included inside the ROM.
It's possible to use like ordinary rom. (google maps can install later, as simple cab file).
Sdconfig still works, of course.
I didn't include EzInput & XT9_IME packages (htc keyboard) in the repository. I'm not sure, that is the best choice.
Can find more interesting & lightweight "models".

-Added dotFred's Taskmanager EXT package which is REQUIRED package. Sorry I thought that it was included in my FlashBack package. This will fix issue with no reg keys being made.
-Updating cab with dotFred's taskmanager as well.

I have been working on this little mortscript for a while now, constantly updating as I find more things to add. It has been one of my most valuable and timesaving tools which I cook into all of my ROMs. It allows a user to backup many items which you would have to input and change manually upon first boot. This saves me a LOT of time as I flash a new ROM just about daily. It also has the ability to autorestore all items if cooked into the ROM. I am not a programmer, so if anyone is interested in turning this into an actual program rather than mortscript please let me know Also, I am no mortscript wizard, so if anyone would like to have at the original to make it better go for it This software will create a folder in root of Storage Card named "Phone Backup", so it may not work if you do not have a Storage Card (does not support localization currently). Also, take note that although I use this quite frequently I do not guarantee it to work fully for you. I will try to work with you to find solutions when possible.
Without the help of Noonski, and many others this script could not exist. So thank you very much
You might be thinking "What do I need this for if I can use SASHIMI or UC or any of the other available autoconfig programs?". This app is not meant to be a replacement for any of these programs, rather it will work hand-in-hand with most of these to backup and restore items easily that you might not think about. It will also autoload manila in 6.5 ROMs and load your prefered wallpaper, weather, program tab preferences, and much more.
Original thread can be found HERE. I have started this new thread in attempt to reorganize and provide easy access to more information. Note to mods: please close previous thread.

-Add any software requests
-Add some sort of localization so it can be used in non WWE ROMs
-Allow user to select files to backup
-Allow user to select reg keys to backup
-Possibly allow user to choose backup destination
-Possibly compress backup files
-Possibly convert to program with skinnable UI
All Previous Changelogs(most recent will be in post #1)
UPDATE: 10-22-09 FlashBack 0.6
-Added program tab backup and autorestore
-Added MySpace profile(Microsoft MySpace)
-Added some more Game and Software items
-Added Zensor autorestore and autoload(autoload still needs some work)
UPDATE: 8-27-09 FlashBack 0.5
Uploading latest package from my kitchen. I will put together a cab soon, but for now you can use the flashback script from the package and overwrite original
Changelog:
Made some minor modifications as well as some optimization to reduce errors when restoring.
-Added Wifi Locations backup under software
-Added double check for manila autorestore. This way if you have non manila ROM It will not try to load manila.
For this to work correctly you need to add the following lines to your manila app.reg:
Code:
;FlashBack support
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\FlashBack]
"ManilaExists"=dword:1
NOTE: Make sure to disable weather restore or delete the database when switching manila builds
Still taking further requests and hoping for some help from the real mort pros
UPDATE: 8-3-09
-Some fixes for missed lines
-Fixed G-Alarm(misspelled something causing no backup)
-added Facebook backup(not fully tested)
-added world clock cities
-Changed backup of manila files to use INI
-If you have cooked an older version into your ROM, be sure to use the newest FlashBack to backup Manila data again. The new AutoRestore script relies on the new INI files.
-Any more software requests?
UPDATE: Huge update.
Added:
-more personal settings(Buttons)
-Tools*
-Manila Wallpaper and Weather(tested .png and .jpg wallpapers)
-Made a package which will restore all saved settings when cooked into ROM.
-Added option to Auto restore. Auto is enabled by default. Look under tools.
-Added support for some builds of Opera
-Added option to Auto load Manila after Flash as oposed to "Windows Default" AKA Titanium. I prefer Manila, so if you enable the option and its cooked in you can have it right after flash.
-Prepared for adding program registrations
Check it out and let me know if it is all working for you. Please note that I will not be held responsible for any loss of data(should that somehow occur, but dont know how it would). Attaching Visual Package and cab. Legacy package will come soon. Edit: Legacy is here, but not sure if it works as I dont use legacy. Please report back for others.
jmckeejr
EDIT: The "RestoreAll" mortscrpt in packages has an extra quotation mark on line 29. Remove the first one before cooking. Should look like this:
Code:
regwritedword("HKLM","Software\FlashBack","Finished",1)
as opposed to this:
Code:
regwritedword([B]"[/B]"HKLM","Software\FlashBack","Finished",1)
This is not a needed step, but it is to double check that Restoreall does not run more than once. There is provision in the script for it to delete the link from startup as well.
Another note: Some features still need some more work to function properly. This is all trial and error as I have to find all the appropriate keys for each item. Some have more than one key which needs backed up. Thanks for trying FlashBack
UPDATE: 7-27-09
After some more work with mortscript(and some help from Noonski, thanks bud) I have put together another backup script which backs up personal info such as :
-Bluetooth Partners
-Wifi Networks
-Owner Info
-Volume
-Rings and Alerts
-Backlight settings
It is still a work in progress, but figured I would put it out there for testing and also feedback on what else to add. Noonski showed me the command lines needed to export and import reg, so now it is just a matter of adding the correct keys. I am learning as I go, so bear with me here. Feel free to test this script and add feedback here. If you are skilled with mortscript feel free to take what I have and make it better. Here is the zip with a cab(which has the script, an exe with icon and dotfred's taskmanager to import the keys). I also included the script and exe to make it easier for others to add or change things. Thanks for trying it By the way I call it Flash Back because I flash so manyt ROMs and I just want my info back in an easy way
Information for cooks (required reading)
Sorry I dont have time right now to add all info, but I will try to add the most important stuff real quick.
-The OEM package will install all files to \Windows folder.
-If you use DotFred taskmanager(known as FDCTaskmanager as well) you will want to have a closer look at this package because the .exe file is already included but renamed to df_taskmgr.exe. You can just edit the app.dat file to add your own shortcut to start menu.
-You can also edit the location of FlashBack shortcut in the app.dat. All updates are taken directly from my kitchen, and I install my shortcut to start menu\programs\Tools\Backup.
-There will be a shortcut created in startup folder during cooking
-Autorestore will only run on BootCount=2(to avoid issues with initial customization) and will do a check of reg to make sure it has not already run. There is also a line to delete the shortcut from startup when complete.
-Basically all you need to do as a cook is to include the package that I have provided. I used to have a double check to ensure that manila was present using additional reg key(you will see above in changelog), but have removed the line from the script so it should not be needed. It will check for existence of manila.exe instead.
Known bugs and issues:
Has Email been incorporated into this, or planned for a future release? I'm addicted to flashing, but I need email access, and it's rather annoying to set up 3 accounts every week. Thanks in advance, this sounds like a very useful program.
Nice job!
great, thank you! that is what i was waiting for!
will test it asap and report my opinion.
It's nice to have this application.

Install to device. What language is the ROM? Currently only works on WWE.
re: Email~ I hope to use an xml writer like Makisu(comes w/ SASHIMI). Will be looking into it when I get some time. Same will be needed for Wifi I think.
Until now, i've been SASHIMI-ING everything including reg keys. this is definately a wonderful addition to SASHIMI.
one problem tho... I just tried to backup some settings and it didn't put anything in the Phone Backup dir (working with a Blackstone on Topix 3.1.1 ROM).

i'm using tess v3.6 topaz wwe...
HAving an error after installing... Says it's unable to create the director "/Storage Card/Phone"
Thats prob because my "Storage Card" is named "Internal Storage"
Is there a way to correct this on my end or is it something you have to change in the script?
UPDATE**
Hope this is ok with the dev, if not - my appologies.
I edited the script myself to make it work with "Internal Storage" as opposed to "Storage Card"
If anyone else has this issue just install from the cab as normal, then copy the Flashback.MSCR file from the attached .zip in this post to your device Windows directory and select yes when prompted to replace the existing file. Should work after that.

Definitely ok. This is as open source as open source can be. There is a lot to be done still, so any help is gladly taken
I will try to get into the details this weekend for cooks and enthusiastic folks who would like to add/change things. Does anyone know of an easy way to add localization? ie if storage card is named as something else, I know some things can use code like %Storage% or something. I would have added something so you could select directories, but the AutoRestore relies on using Storage Card for now. Maybe as I figure mnore out I will do a rewrite and clean it up. There is a lot of repeated entries that I should be able to eliminate with variables. I also still need to add xml restore son nI can get more included.
Well, it created the directory by itself, and it also backed up some files.. like the wallpaper and such, but it didn't post reg keys for some reason. that's the only problem i can see right now.
other than that, wonderful idea, wonderful mechanism. thank you so much

Well, same problem on my phone it creats folders "phone backup/reg keys" but doesn';t save anything in them and I only tried to backup owner info, rings and alerts and also thumbcal & resco settings. I'm running the latest ver. of MortScript I think it's v. 4.3 b. maybe your scripts were written for the last stable version 4.2.

I have updated first post with Taskmanager package. I had thought it was included in the original package, but after downloading it myself and looking I see its not there. df_taskmgr.exe is a required file and I have added the package to post 1. Have also updated the cab file.
Thanks for the feedback, otherwise I would not have found it.
