Hi All,
I have been working on an enhancement that allows scrolling from anywhere on the screen, not just using the scrollbars. The idea is to tweak the UI so that it functions more intuitively. This app is still in Alpha. However, for those that like this functionality and would like to help me with testing and provide me with good suggestions, that would be extremely appreciative.
Short Description
-Loads on startup and places an icon on the home screen.
-Currently, a flicker of the startup screen will appear during bootup.
-May not work at times on initial loading of a window.
User Guide
1) Install the cab and reboot the device.
2) Once the device boots up, you will notice a new icon, which is just a way for you to close the application if you want to.
3) Once everything the device loads, you can test the tweak by opening the "Programs" window
4) Try to use your finger to scroll as you would with the scrollbar.
I hope this explain things a little more.
Thank and enjoy. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Sorry everyone, I had to remove this cab. I will post up an update some time soon I hope.
Nice tweak
Count me in!
Edit : It's working great, only is it possible to delete the scrollbars?.

I've loaded, soft reset, the icon appeared at the home screen task bar. Clicked on the icon - a blank screen appeared and that's it....

Hi, there was a registry hack for WM5 to size the scrollbars..likely works in WM6, you could atleast make em smaller, if not size em out completely, I think, might give the wiki hacks a check, sorry I don't know it offhand.
User guide of sort
Sorry, should I posted a little description.

rathoughts,
Thanks for the release, the program seems run quite stable, however, few problems I have noticed:
* Some programs work some don't (PIE for example).
* Some programs need to try few times to get it to work.
* Tap function doesnt work (you can scroll up/down nicely in standard contact, however, tap and hold doesnt work, menu doesnt pop up).
My recommendation is, maybe in the furture release, you could add an "exclusive list" function so programs in the list will have TouchNav disabled.
Please keep up your good work
Hi rathoughts, sounds like it might be kinda cool, I know shame on me for not just installing it and trying it out, but does this function with like a throw effect, for example, if I am scrolling, and I run my finger upwards on the screen and release without stopping my finger on the screen, it would keep scrolling by itself, I have a scroll effect with my finger using PIEPlus, but I can get up and down the page much faster with the scroll wheel, cause using my finger and moving from top to bottom of the screen is kinda slow when it comes to browsing here at XDA for example, gotta do it a whole bunch of times, its all good if not, I just thought I would ask.
Edit, nevermind....I just seen its not working in PIE, in the above post

The tap and hold (context menu) issue is something I know about. I hope I can get that resolved so that it will allow this as well.

That is the idea for the next release.
Sweet, thanks for the reply, I swear Im surprised my scrollwheel still functions.
Really nice job!
This is the functionnality I really expected from TouchFlo better than the 3D cube!
I thought about working on such a program if TouchFlo technology couldn't be ported to Hermes, so I would gladly help you to work on this project if you want!
It would be nice if it supports scrolling accelerations and free scrolling (when you release the finger) like on Touch!

go into your PIE+ option for scroll, and increase the screen drag sensitivity.
I think I remember reading(haven't installed yet) that the scrolling is opposite from what we are used to?
Such as it should be like "dragging" so bottom to top would make it scroll downwards. Is it like this?

Sorry to wander offtopic, but thanks!
I had always just thought that related to pressure sensitivity for some dumb reason, and never tried it.
great work !!!im using PocketCM v0.6 and it screws up the scrolling in contacts ,otherwise awesome stuff.
It will be good if it's functioning as smooth as PocketCM ContactManager 0.11 scrolling. Just tried it on Shcaps 3.57a but not as expected. Good luck on your programming and hope to here good news from you soon. You got my vote.
Tested on WM6
Hello,
Tested this on iMate JasJam WM6 LVSW
It works in Programs folder and File Explorer(the default one)
Tried in PIE, Opera and Resco Explorer and unfo didn't work.
While touching the screen , the program was selecting items on the screen and no chance of scrolling.
Keep up the good work.
Regards.
I would like to make a one-touch shortcut to rotate the screen from portrait to landscape (and back), or at the very least a way that is easier than going through the screen settings menu on my XDA Orbit. Any suggestion please? It's so that I can us ethe wider screen whilst running tomtom6.
Thx
Pete
i've got mine on the button to the left, i believe it is for voice contact but I never use it.
start - settings - Personal - buttons - button 6 <rotate screen>
Yep cheers smasma, I found that when I went to set my buttons up after upgrading to wm6. Cheers for the reply!

What choices of other ROM are there for my Orbit?
toms B&B v4 at the mo till v4.1 is realeased but im sticking with v4 does me
my avitar is my screen on my orbit
nice huh?
Aye I might try that. I have to down-grade my rom to WM5 first yes? From reading-up I take it I can do that without having to unlock the cid, since I have the o2 WM5 rom? Just a case of flashing it down?
i flashed to wm6 then tried to go to toms rom didnt work
downgraded to wm5 o2 rom then using uspl did the B&B rom
worked a treat
This cab puts a screen rotation icon on lower part of screen. You tap on it, and screen rotates. I ´ve tested it only under WM5

Doesn't seem to work on an O2 Orbit with WM6. Installs OK, but no icon appears.
Sorry! My mistake. Requires a reset after installation. Many thanks.

Greetings-
I had been a Schap's 4.01 user, as it came out a day or so after I got my 8525. I recently upgraded to 4.22, and love it, but I have found what most people probably consider an enhancement is driving me nuts.
In 4.01, and thus the old HTC Home, the scroll wheel did not scroll through the HTC Home tabs. Now, in HTC Home 2.1.1005722, it does. This basically means I show my ringer settings (right most HTCH tab) at the top of my screen every time I scroll down to check my other today plugins, and it's kinda ruining a simply great ROM for me.
I mentioned this in the 4.22 thread, and said I'd check out HTC Home Customizer - it has a Lock HTC Home option, but it doesn't seem to fix my gripe either way when set. I figure that thread isn't getting much action now because of the 4.30 release, so I'd make my own thread, as this may affect others using HTC Home and being picky about their home layout.
Is there a registry key I'm missing that controls this, or a way to downgrade just HTC Home back to the version included in Schap's 4.01?
Thanks to the schapmeister and the forum gurus-

Hi, had same prob. but is strangly gone now.
Don't know the real fix (Also want it),
but I changed the order of the Tabs round
a few times and now it does not scroll anymore. (Yipee!!!! )
At the moment I have my Tabs set like this:
Home->Favorites->Launcher->Weather->Music
with NO scrolling, only touch screen.
Please PM me if you somehow find the REAL fix.
Hmm, I will keep trying it, but even this temp fix isn't getting me quite there.
There was one config i found that only scrolled through 2 tabs, but then i didnt like the order of them to touch
Hey all. I've done a few searchs and read through a bunch of ROM threads (god, the dutty ones are full of stupid posts by stupid people), but haven't found any real answers.
How do we disable auto rotate / landscape mode in the new v3 Manila?
Is there any way of getting back the old notifications functionality where you click any of the icons along the top, and it brings up a screen with bigger icons for Notifications/Sound/Connections.
Use the old pop up menus? I am aware there's a tweak to make the 8 item menu into a 10 item. Can that hack be extended to 15 items?

If you use Dutty Extreme, then you had to enable the landscape rotate in the first place! In which case, to turn it off you just uninstall the "Dutty Enable Landscape" cab from "remove programs"

Nope, which is a real shame because the new notifications screen is USELESS! the "new text" is not the only thing that's useful to see! You can, however, disable the new notifications menu by going to the Task Manager (built into Duttys Extreme - sorry I can't help with where in the start menu it is because I've moved everything around to my own taste!) then go to Services and change the Notifications thingy to be "manual"

The thread that tells you how to get to 10 items actually meantions that these settings were just how that person had arrived at something that used the whole screen height perfectly. He explained which values change what and you should be able to adapt that to get whatever height of menu you want!
Hope that helps!

I'm using a different ROM now. I'm using the Lite one to try the speeds and the auto landscape is already cooked in. I was reading Dutty's because his ROM was the first to have it. I searched the thread where I got my ROM, but no one seems to dislike the auto rotate *shrug*. I don't mind it except in bed when I'm on my side.

Ok, I guess I'll modify the registry. Was hoping to disable it altogether as I don't find it all that pretty and it's simply bloat. On many apps, the new menus don't fit the theme at all.
Thanks for your helpful suggestions!

In that case, I suggest using AE Button to map one of the volume buttons to "rotate screen", then you can over-ride the auto-rotate on a case by case basis by rotating the screen manually. I've got it set to long press of volume up and down for rotating each way, so if something gets stuck, or as you say I'm lying down, then I can over-ride whichever way I want.

I've tried disabling the auto rotate for all programs, and while it works, it interferes with some other rotation programs. I use kaisoft's screen rotate, and when i rotate something, the orientation gets forced back to portrait a few seconds later.
I've gone back to Dutty's 1.7 ROM as it suits my needs better. I'm finding auto rotation with the new manila has not improved any more since the old gsen/gyrator days when people had tonnes of problems. It's still a hassle controlling what you want rotated.
Thanks
try this which i found somewhere in dutty's thread:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor
Change the autorotation key to 0
this is the only thing changed, i've not tried the above reg.
it stopped the auto-rotation for me and also solved the photo orientation bug while in camera
opera will still rotate
it works!

yes, it works specificly on Manila rotation. Thanks
so i just got a tilt 2 today. and I can't get screen orientation to change whenever I would like it to. I have calibrated G-Sensor and it works for a few programs. But it doesn't work for the home screen. I put a registry editor on my phone and noticed that the gsensor only has like 5 programs for it. how can i go about fixing this? I've tried to do a few searches, but haven't been able to find quite what I'm looking for
You want to use this:
[APP] G-Config (Configurator for the new SensorSDK 4)
really simple to add programs to your rotation registry.
If you read through that thread There's a way to ad manilla/sense/touchflo3d.... whatever you call it as everyone calls it what they want to the list.
That said, you will find this REALLY annoying. I had it set to that back when I had my touch pro and after a day I got rid of it cause even if you tilt the phone slightly the phone rotated and yeah... just annoying as hell.
An alternative you can have is download RhodiumKBDControl. Search for it on google and you'll find it. You can program buttons on your phone to do certain things. Most people with the tilt2 reprogram their PTT button to do something like open the camera or rotate the screen or adjust the brightness. The cool thing about it is you can program it so a long press does one thing while a single press does another while a double or triple press does something different too. This works for ANY key on our phone.
You're better off setting it to rotate via the button because like said after a day or so you'll just be sick of it.

use the registry editor and you can add the programs yourself. all you need to know is the class name and where the .exe is stored. i have a .reg back up file to add rotation to apps. i originally found it on here somewhere but ive added/removed a few things.
otherwise you can do it manually.. if u want to know how, tell me; No mch time to write, right now
