Consensus best rom for the Wizard?

Hi, I have the cingular 8125, and I want the best rom out there. Push email is not a necessity.
I'm wondering what ROM version, in terms of speed, stability, no bugs, etc, is the best one to get.
And if I don't use medianet, why do I need the Cingular customizations?
Please talk to me in baby talk. I'm a normal guy visiting geekville, and I am amazed at what you people do, but I'd still like to be able to understand. I follow directions with the best of them. Thanks.

Hermes is no longer produced by HTC...
The closest you can get is TyTn II [Kaiser]...
Have you even bothered to browse HTC's website?
Cheers.

Dude, you also own Hermes. How is your experience is with it.
If i give you a choice between N95 and Imate JasJam. Which one will you select?
for me it's the best device to load many apps, rom flashes (wm6.1 runs great), media, scalability, travel, UI, etc.
good luck

Most of the time battery life depends on type of ROM you use and how much you use it. Some ***** about it, some live with it. Hermes is a mid level phone, if you want more juice out of your phone then go for kaiser!
Or get a bigger battery... I can sooo see someone lugging around their hermes attached to a car battery one day......
Cheers...

MATE, ARE U Serious???
There is a wealth of information on this phone on the XDA site. Use the search function is a great place to start.
I will however play nice
In my experience the Hermes model is a great phone. Note the amount of development still happening in this forum. Not many other phones of this age still command such attention. It has an abundance of connectivity options. The battery life depends on how much you use it as with any device. The Hermes wiki contains the specs of the beast. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes.

I mean to say if you use daily 3 hours Wi-fi and always connected to the 3G Internet service then how long the estimated the battery live. I tried before Nokia N95 and it's battery only last for 2-6 hours in the above stated operations. I am already using PDA2K and happy that it is best phone ever made. but it lacks 3G, HSDPA, and lots more...

Hello, I already read the Wiki but as i stated sometimes real experience is required then reading the wiki. I upgrade my phone every 12 month. But, i don't want to get stuck in something and then looking after to someone who buy it from me. That's why some research and real experience is better then getting stuck.
Thanks for your response.
hmm
My next phone after learning windows mobile would have to be the htc touch pro. As I still like the keyboard function.
As previous posters are saying do your research. Get parallel imported phone from a reputable online seller on ebay or where ever you are.

German HTC Diamond Stuff

Hi everyone!
As you can see by my posting-count, I'm pretty new to this...in fact new to the whole xda-thing. chose the diamond to be my first WM-based device and today amazon shipped my german diamond.
...So! I'm very excited about the whole ROM & tweaking stuff. So i wonder when the first german-based roms will be out for use. Maybe someone of you knows more than I do?
Then, maybe someone can answer me this little bunch of questions:
- I'm looking for a good GPS-Software. Had TomTom 6 in mind. Someone already tried out and of corse where can I get TomTom with a german map for a cheap price?
- Someone of you running SCUMMVM on his Diamond?
- Heard about the low batterie life of the diamond. Would be interested in some facts from you. How long are your diamonds running?
Thats all for now. My Diamond is arriving tomorrow, I think there will me more questions then ^^ Have a good night. Oh, and a cool beer of course =)
Good GPS: NavNgo seems to be pretty good, I like Sygic McGuider on diamond too. Both working fine nowadays.
ScummVM rocks, I play Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle, cool sound and graphics!
Battery lasts for a day easy with all I wanna do. Navigation in car (using GPS) use a car charger, it eats battery.
NavNGo8 for me, battery life ain't to good so keep it charged while using your GPS.
TouchFlo3D, nothing like it. seriously, almost everything you need is right there in your face. Apply the tweaks on these threads & you should have a good experience.
indeed battery sucks big time.

1. battery life improves SUBSTANTIALLY with using one of the available 1.37 ROMs(personally, I'm using the TLR ROM and I'm pretty happy with it)
2. TomTom 7 has been optimized for the Diamond and it's VGA res as far as I heard, so using TomTom 6 instead may not be a good idea. I heard that some of the TT6 maps are working fine with TT7, I can't confirm it though. All I can confirm is that TT7 works very smoothly with the Touch Diamond and the navigation also seems to work very well since I was able to test it downloading one of the free city maps.
3. this is the ROM development forum, so your thread isn't really fitting in here, please keep that in mind for future threads/posts. Thank you.
Does the TLR Rom offer german language? And as far as I know, TomTom7 is only included in the O2-Version of the Diamond, so where can I get it? brought an unbranded HTC Diamond...
Just tell theses guys with a german XDA how to extract their ROM, so the devs can cook some german ROM´s or maybe work out a .cab to get rid of the blue Tuchflow theme!

i use tt7.45 with map 7.20. works fine. but actually the gps receiver will not work.
i think, the last firmware update was not 100% perfect.

Goodbye, and thanks for all the ROMs

My Hermes fried its radio chip over the weekend, and after much research and time, I've given it up. As much as I've loved this phone, and all the fun of flashing new ROMs, I had to go with a new phone. Work and family just won't let me go without one...
Thanks to ALL the chefs on here for their hard work, and the fantastic community that made XDA one of my top sites in my reader every day. You guys rock, and you do it all for love (and the occasional donation), and I really appreciate that. Please keep up the excellent work.
N
P.S. Anyone interested in a Hermes and/or extended battery? Works fine for everything but the cellular network (yes, WiFi works).
My friend it has been a honor! Peace!
thats to bad my man,why not upgrade to a more modern htc phon eand stay around on the forum family, btw if wireless works surely the radio is still alive?anyone know the answer?
anyho all the best and fare well
why does it screw up?
maybe you conect it an external anthenna?
or stay on a metallic place with wires all over your body? jajajaja forget it!
Am I heard something like a new Battery? does it is extended HIgh capacity batt? is new?
how much is it?
Hi. Did you read your PM?
Cheers
Well I'm another member saying goodbye to the Hermes section and relegating my trusty phone to the drawer.
I've splashed out on a very good condition Xperia X1 for £120 on ebay, (approx $190).
I'd just like to say thanks for all the work people have put in and all the advice given.
good! bye!
Thanks for been here

newbie's question

hey can anyone tell me the important of updating the radio on htc evo or any wireless devices. thank you.
may or may not give you better battery life and or signal.
that is about it. its very risky as the software directly interacts with the hardware frequencies so the wrong one can brick it. but anyways, i almost always update my radio. i usually get a little bit more responsive signal.
hope that helps
btw this should be in Q&a

Also it's a good idea to post questions in the Q-A area, it's a better way to get your questions answered. Some people just like to help and that is the first place they go to be helpful
