Hi everybody,
I brought a TD few weeks ago. The WM was in french, so I flashed it with another cooked ROM to change it to english. But after flashing I'm not able to access 3G. I get message that "Cannot connect for an unknown reason"
I brought the phone from SFR and on contract.
Can any one tell me what's the possible reason?
what ROM did you flash? perhaps you flashed a radio your network(s) do not like, if it was a custom ROM, try changing the Radio. Of course with all of this (if it's custom ROM), i hope you have hardspl installed

Hi,
I have recently switched to Cingular and have SIM/CID unlocked my phone. I have downgraded it from tmobile 2.26 Rom to versions 2.24 and previous with the cooked ROMs from xelencin. I am now trying to update to the latest 2.25 8125 ROM but get the dreaded error [296]: upgrade error. I want to load the official cingular rom to get all the settings and the MMS application, etc.
Any ideas? I have seen many posts on other sites that say they have done it without an issue. Is their a way I can extract the rom from the Cingular exe ROM file and install it manually?
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks.
I've read on the other site that its dangerous

I have NFSFAN Latest rom with GPS, I want to go back to the original bell rom because bell world said they can't change my cell phone number with the custom rom.
Thanks
I have done it so many times......nothing hard nor dangerous.
Just use the latest bell firmware (with the GPS) and flash it.....

Hmm sounds kinda weird, I don't see why the need the stock bell ROM to change your number. Just re flash it with the bell ROM, go get it changed, then flash your custom ROM back. Just don't try to return your phone until you have downgraded the bootloader and flashed the stock bell ROM, but in your situation it does not sound like there is a need to downgrade.
just make sure that the Official Bell Rom has the 3.xx Radio or more,, and you will be fine.
Well I flashed to NFSFAN's ROM hand had nothing but trouble after that. Now, to be honest I couldn't say if it was the ROM or the flashing that caused the problem, as I unlocked as I was supposed to first, but I could not reflash back to OEM after that using active sync, I had to do it from the storage card. And now after trying it yet once again, my phone shows No Service...
So I would say that your mileage may definitely vary... I'd say if you're able to downgrade to the Bell 3.09.666 ROM from activesync you should be fine.
Keep us posted!
My radio initially is the original official radio, but then I want to upgrade to it 1.17.25.09.
Then I read some post saying that I should downgrade it to 1.02.xxxx or below, then I can unlock the security lock.
However, I think I misunderstand it and just downgrade it by flashing the radio, I think I am supposed to flash a rom which has an old radio with it.
But lucky that time I was able to upgrade it without security unlock my phone.
Now I just flash the radio 1.17.25.09 straight away, and now my radio is 1.17.25.09.
However, there is a little problem now.
I wasn't able to connect to the wifi internet I usually connect to, is it the problem of the radio? or is the problem of the ROM? Can I do some test to ensure my wifi function is correctly working?
Just one more question, what does the flashing a new ROM affect/change the performance of the phone?
Many thanks for reading this long thread, hope I can get some answers
I think the wifi Problem is a Problem of the rom, because 2 years ago i put a new rom on my htc wizard and then i was no longer able to connect to my home network.
Hope i was able to help a bit!
Thank you for your reply, I will try to flash a new room tonight and see whether it is functioning
Hello everyone!
I have a problem with my brother's Tab. He had one of his friends root it and they installed a custom ROM. Then it stopped working and they asked me to fix it. I managed to reinstall the stock ROM and recovery, the only problem is the baseband. None of the firmwares I found on the internet come from an Italian device, so everytime he tries to make a call it says "Out of service area". The carrier is WIND.
So, how can I fix that? Should I go on an italian forum and ask someone to upload his baseband so I can flash it with ODIN or there's something else? 'cause I also thought about using Kies, but since it has 4.2.2 on it, it won't let me update it, since it's already at the last release available.
Thanks for your help, and please tell me if you need more informations.
Hi,
First of all, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread so if it's not I'm sorry.
I'm not a complete newbie about ROM custom and flash... But I'm not an expert either
This is my situation :
I have a HTC one M9 that I bought in Canada. Yesterday I flashed the last version of the TWRP and I flashed the last version of the Venom ROM.
My problem is that with this new custom ROM, I don't have any cellular connection : No DATA, no phone reception. I tryed to flash the last Cyanogenmod 13, and I have the same problem.
Did I miss something ? I saw some topics about the firmware, I did't touch it, should I ?
Currently I'm on Venom ROM, it works but no connection. Tell me if you need more information. Thank you for your help.
what baseband are you on? what provider? does the system say anything about a missing sim card?
