Hi all,
I've got the a MDA Vario II as a personal phone and also a BT enabled work phone.
Does anyone know of a bluetooth headset that would allow me to simultaneously connect to both phones? I.e, either one rings and I can answer from the BT headset.
I've tried out the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 which says it has the multipoint function but I believe only allows one phone connection and the rest have to be audio.
Anyone using the Jabra BT8010 (or any other headset) able to test it on two phones for me??
Thanks.

No, you have to hang up one before you can answer the other call. I tried Jabra, Plantronics, Nokia and Motorola, and they are all the same.
CameoTabby:
Sorry, I probably didn't state the question properly...
I don't wish to answer the calls simultaneously, just to be able answer either one that rings (separately of course) using one headset.
I have both my phones on me during working hours and want one BT headset where I can answer either of them.
I hope this makes more sense (!)
Jabra 8010
the 8010 can do what your asking; same situation as you 1 work phone 1 personal. Paired both phones had someone call on both phones head-set rang for both phones. Small problem though one of the two phones will be tn he primary phone ie. both phones ring at the same time the primary take the call. I just got this head-set and I haven't RTM yet so there other things yet to discover. Oh something I haven't figured out yet(probably because I haven't read the manual) if your talking on one phone and the other rings can you switch between the 2 phones? But YES you can use 2 phones with this head set.
Thanks for confirming that Harry Tuttle!
I already took the chance and ordered one earlier!
Will post back to see how I get on.
no problem, I'm a Jabra fan I've had it for a week and its pretty comfortable for all day use haven't had time to try out the stereo half of it,but so far I'm happy with it.
some plantronics (640 + e suffix) phones also work
Normally primary is last phone that initiated connection - so if you press redial, you will go out on primary. If both calling, answer will accept primary. So make sure you pair secondary first, primary second.

In this case, the Plantronics models I mentioned will work the way you want. And, I personally have used 510 and 640, they both work great. One additional information, if you initiate a call from BT headset, such as using voice command, the headset will default to the last device (phone) you used.
Well I totally forgot about the postal strike here in the UK 12/13th- so will probably have to wait until Monday for device to arrive!
@ shasta
Thanks for the info- I believe I saw the same thing quoted in the manual I downloaded.
@ CameoTabby
Yes, i think there are only a few headsets that have this capability- and I did have a look at the Platronics ranges- but none that I saw had an LCD screen.
I have been using the Touch Pro 2 for a little while now, and I must say: no regret at all that I've bought it.
But the reason I post here is because I'm having a problem with my car-kit and the Touch Pro 2 when they are connected through bluetooth.
First of all, some data about the car-kit
Car stereo: JVC KD-BT22
Bluetooth functions: handsfree calling and Bluetooth Audio Streaming
Bluetooth version: 1.2 certified
Profile: HFP 1.5, OPP 1.1, A2DP 1.2, AVRCP 1.3
The situation:
When I pair the devices I can check two options:
1) Handsfree
2) Stereo Audio
This should be fine, but the problem comes next:
- When I both check handsfree and stereo audio, I don't get any streaming audio (I just hear about one second the song which is playing at the phone), if I call or get called nothing hapenned except the display of the phone showing the caller. The car-kit just keeps playing (for example) the CD.
- When I uncheck the stereo audio, just connecting the handsfree everything works "fine" (some small problems, not mentionable).
- When I only connect stereo audio the same happens as described before: the song which is playing at the phone I hear about one second, and after that it's silenced (the song is still "going forward", but no sound, nor on the phone, nor on the car stereo).
I've tried different set-ups, searched the forums and didn't saw anyone with this problem/no sollution, so I hope someone could help me.
This happened with the Stock Rom and also the custom rom I'm using right now, no difference. When I connect a stereo headphone (from Nokia) through Bluetooh, everything works fine.
don't pair from the phone use your Radio to pair...i had the same problem with my Pioneer at first so i searched for the device from my stereo and it worked just fine and ...i hope this helps... and make sure your discovery is always on...take care!
Well, that in a case makes sense...
The carkit also connected to my phone when discovery was turn off. Seemed strange to me already. A little, maybe stupid, question: what do I need to swith off/turn off on the phone so the phone won't connect to the carkit, but that I have to let the carkit connect to the phone?
HTC aware
I have similar problems with the BT stack in the TP2, which is disappointing having migrated from a Snap. I e-mailed HTC who admit they are aware of BT problems with the TP2 and advised me to keep an eye on the support page for a fix.

I also tried mailing HTC about this problem. The reply wasn't so hopegiving
"We're sorry, but the carkit isn't compatible. Please fill out the form for our technical support team"... Summary: I've not been too lucky with this combination
Hope they might do something about it after all. Me just thinking that Bluetooth = Bluetooth, but it's more complicated than that.
I also have the same problem with JVC-KD-AVX2 streaming audio. couple of times i did manage to get it to work, but once the stereo is turned off and on, i lose the streaming again.
i called HTC and emailed them. one said my stereo is not compatible, but i did have it working kind of.
not sure what the problem is as the touch pro1 worked fine. also my friends N97 worked fine
did all of you use your stereo to search for your phone or your phone to search for your stereo... if u used your phone then try using the stereo to to look for your phone under the connections menu and it should work

Sorry for my late reply.
I can't connect/pair the phone using the stereo, to bad.
Well, I have the Pioneer Stereo and what I discovered was you have to do it from the stereo. For some unknown reason it errors out from phone. Since that, I have no problems, further more it reads my text as well as incoming e-mails. Hope that help

Which Pioneer are you using? I'm using the F700, and for some reason it won't mute the radio when in a call. I haven't gotten time to mess around with it much though. Reading incoming texts would be great.
i bought a car kit MP3 player for my car. I paired it with my TP2 and enabled the "BT Audio" and "BT Handsfree". Outgoing calls work fine with no problems at all. But during incoming calls there is a problem. If the incoming call is from someone saved in my contacts, the BT carkit does not ring. If its from an unknown number (not saved in my contacts), it works perfectly. I tried all the tweaks and hacks in this forum but nothing worked. Anymore ideas.

x2, exact same problem with MY pioneer on 6.1 ... took me an hour to figure out how to pair it correctly, and it happened completely by accident out of frustration while I was pounding my fists into the horn haha. Now I know better...
set your phone to discoverable, then pair from the radio, confirm on the phone. good luck - Mark

The only thing I can think of is that maybe you have different ringtones set up for contacts and unknown contacts. Or your carkit is broken.
Hope this helps - Mark

Try the cab from this thread ------> Fix for playing ringtones over bluetooth headset.
It's meant so that the actual ringtone you have set will play on the car kit. I know my car kit used to have its own ring which was... boring to say the least. Now the various ring tones set to people on my phone play through the car kit. Anyway... This MIGHT fix the issue you guys are having as well.

Yes i do have diifferent ringtones for contacts and also different pictures. The problem is in the contacts name. When i remove the name and leave it unnamed it works fine.
Thanks for your reply..

it did not fix my problem but thanks anyway. The problem im facing is that any contact saved with a name wont be recieved on the car kit. while if its left unnamed it will work fine.
Please help me before i go crazy on this!
I bought a new handsfree (Plantronics Voyager 520) hoping it was something wrong with my old one.
So my problem is that when I use my handsfree I hear alot of noises and sometimes I can´t even hear the other part because of that. But it seems to be only me that hear this, not the one I talk to.
I tried changing the Linespeed value in registry, but that didn´t help.
Maybe if I flash a new radio??
I have searched, but havn´t found any help. Dont know if this is a known problem?
Someone knows?
It seems to be something with the reception. All i hear is alot of cracking noise.
I have also tried with my Jabra BT3030 and the sound is good. But not when im using any of my headsets.
I, too, use a Plantronics 520 with my AT&T Tilt2. I hear lots of snap, crackle and pop but the other party does not hear it.
Anybody?
using a Plantronics Discovery 925 and it's pretty clear. No call quality complaints from both sides. Only complaint I have is it picks up too well sometimes the other party can hear some unwanted noises...
I havn´t found a solution to this problem. Someone else have a good idea??
Double post
I use a Jabra Dogtag with the touch pro2, i have clear sound in music and phone works also good.
Even the play, next and prev keys work perfect.
Try going to the bluetooth menu and activate stereo sound instead of headset (Maybe
Or turn off secure connection.
This might not help, but who knows

By Dogtag, you mean BT3030?? I have one of those also and it´s working for me. But when i connect to one of my hedsets it´s very bad sound.
I have an old SE and a new Plantronics, but same issue with both. But only when i connect those to my TP2. Both those are mono-headset you put on your ear.
Hi all,
I come from the TP2 and used my jabra JX10 9old, 1st version) on it.
The system sounds were forwarded to the headset without problem. I heard the noticiation, alarm or ringtone as if it was coming from the internal speaker.
Connecting the same headset to the DHD now, I hear only a 'signal' informing that I have an incoming call.
Deciding that I need a newer headset to go with the new phone I tried a few headsets but get the impression that it is not possible to hear system sounds. Can somebody please confirm this possibility with any of the BT headsets around.
If I put an 'oldphone' as a ringtone, I want to hear that 'oldphone' when I get a call. Same more incoming emails, sms etc. Please advise which headset is capable of doing so.
I just tried the Jabra extreme. Music is being forwarded if I play it, but the system sounds are not coming through, this although the BT settings show that phone and media sounds are forwarded to the headeset.
with many thanks for a good advise,
Ruud
this is a tricky one... have you installed any custom roms etc?

Hi fkofilee,
no, I am still on stock-rom, purchased in Russia from one of the official dealers proposed on HTC's website. I am quite sure that I am fully original.
For the moment I am not into flashing another ROM. I came to the HDH with the main hope that this continously flashing would stop. It just takes too much time and it never was perfect anyway.
About the topic at hand :
I now have tried Jabra JX10 series 2, Jabra extreme and Jabra Stone on my DHD. All of which show that they forward phone and media, but none of them is giving me ringtones, notifications & alarm at the moment they sound at the phone.
If this is standard Android, next question would be if somebody has an additional software which is able to arrange this, I would be happy to try.
regards,
Ruud
Still hoping
Hi all,
added the Plantronic Voyager Pro to the mix, same result. Not even showing phone audio and media, but only phone audio. Though it was certainly a better fit for my ears, the fact that one more is lacking the result I am seeking was not convincing enough to purchase it.
Anyone please, who is able to get system sounds through Bluetooth. I really liked it with my TP2, to be "in meetings" not disturbing anyone, but being informed about all that my phone usually barks at me.
Regards,
Ruud
Is it just me, or notifications don't play through the headset?
When I play Pandora radio via headphones and an email arrives the music pauses, as usual, and...notification sound only comes through the speaker..
Can someone confirm this?
Thanks.
I think I have noticed the same thing, though I don't remember it playing over the phone speaker?
I could've sworn I saw a setting that let you choose whether a notification was sent through the headset or speaker...But I just went hunting through all the settings and can't find it.
not sure what headsets you guys are using... whenever i am playing music through my headphones (no mic) i always get a notification sound, came as default. i don't recall changing anything
well ive used 3 different head sets nowmal earbuds bluetooth and one with a mic and i get nothing from any of them
Mine works too. I use a regular JVC in-ear headsets to listen to music, and I can hear phone calls ringing, as well as message notifications coming in. Nothing seems any different than my other android phone. It might be a setting that u accidentally changed maybe?
every thing is stock other than having root
Well obviously it has something to do with the headset itself. Mine is Skullcandy FIX and it works dandy (other then inline vol up/down buttons) on Skyrocket and Atrix 4g, but on Nitro not only it doesn't get notifications through it, the mic doesn't work either!
I also have some brand I don't remember, from RadioShack store - no notifications, but at least mic works.
im going ot go to my AT&T store today and see what they will have ill post which headset works
