You put the device into landscape mode, then arrange the icons how you want them. It'll remember where they should be in portrait and landscape modes independently.

The carousel does not seem as responsive in landscape, and it's a bit flickery; I tend to stick to the configurable pages, though.
Just curious, why used sbp shell 3 where you already have the Touchpro3D UI? That is why you buy HTC TP2 to make full used of it looks, functions and capabilities :> . Unless you have a phone just come with a standard mircosoft WM GUI , like those old WM phone :>
Im sure all the experts here will be able to develop more cool stuff here later with more custom looks :>
Ops! just my opinion. :>

SPB 3 v.s. TouchFlo
Personal fafourite!
I dont like the interface of TouchFlo so much.
SPB 3, takes the fully advantage of the phones possibility's.
Like the 3d accelerator!
Plus.. its more easy to handle!
and.. its idd.. Not free!!
When you love Touch FLo.. lucky you! It will cost you nothing more!!

Can you run SPB Mobile Shell 3 together with Touch Flo 3D. I am loving Touch Flo 3D but feel really restricted by the amount of shortcuts and customization. I would only really use Mobile Shell Lifestyle screens to arrange my games.
Be aware! I have this problems... and also a buggy solution.
In my case TF3D is not working anymore... won't boot.

The Opera browser does it automatically. For everything else, practically every TP2 owner has installed 'Gyrator 2' or 'screenChanger' (my favourite), which are free apps utilising the G-Sensor. They run pretty much silently and allow you to configure which programs you want to rotate etc.
Get the TP2 - You know you want to.
Yes. But only by sliding out the keyboard. You can use the G sensor, but then you have to adjust the registry.
Theres a reg hack to enable the change orientation function to be shown in the screen to change button assignments. So you can set when you hold down the send button it changes to landscape mode. And you don't have to pull out the keyboard!
I can't remember what it was mind.. but it's on these forums somewhere.
thank you all.
thank you brynweb for those programs.
thank you quarintus.
andrewrees: if you remember the post, please tell me.
thanks a lot
i have tried Gyrator, and the problem i´ve seen is that the program must be running if you want to rotate screen.
correct or im wrong?
you dont need to use any program
there is a reg hack on here to allow it to tilt auto in things like calender etc etc
read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=526701
I did the reg that doesnt need any program running and it works great. With a bit of modding I got it to do TomTom, too.
TomTom on PDA is OK, but it still doesnt have text to speach for spoken street names.

changeScreen does a better job of hiding itself than Gyrator. One day I'll use the reg hack, but I'm still in the tinkering stage where I can't make up my mind about what programs I want to rotate, so it's easier for me to use the program option right now.

That is correct. However, mine starts itself at startup and you can tell it to minimise when it starts, so you don't need to worry about starting it up all the time. It also doesn't use much memory, so you don't need to worry about that either.

i just bought a brand new t-mobile htc touch pro 2. and i want the slide to unlock feature like the iphone. but i don't want to change anything else. i just want to be able to slide to unlock my phone can anyone help me out with that for my touch pro 2. thanks
New to WinMo? Everyone knows about S2U2.
Btw, please search before posting. If you Google "slide to unlock", almost all the hits on the 1st page points you towards S2U2.
I've noticed S2U2 scrambled my screen when unlocking my Verizon TP2 in landscape mode with the keyboard open. I have to close the keyboard, rotate the screen back into portrait, and then I can unlock it.
Yea, that happens to me as well. And S2U2 drains battery life like crazy.
put the screen buffers to RAW I've read in the S2U2 thread it works... you might want to search for it.
Putting the screen buffers to RAW fixes it for a short while then the landscape view get messed up again. Putting it back to Direct3D again fixes it for a short time. I am going back and forth between the two settings to keep it working. It really needs a fix from the author.
S
somehow, I doubt that the developers of the S2 apps will look at this thread. Perhaps you are better served if you contact them directly or post in their thread.
I ended up uninstalling it. I really like the app, but after reading it sucks battery life it had to go. I left this morning with a full battery. Wifi/bluetooth are off, I've surfed maybe 5 minutes, sent 6 emails, and about 15 texts and my battery is already down to two bars. Something is draining this thing fast.
disable the digital battery option in the s2u2 settings

i know that why i ask for any one to make a smart program!!!i think that program save the 1st touch then go to the second and x2 the middle kinda complicated
BUT SHOULD WORK
To my knowledge, some apps actually already use this technique. When you press two points on a screen, it takes the coordinates exactly in the middle and "presses" that. It doesn't work with a screen full of buttons though, as there might be another button where the "dummy" press occurs.

Yeah, you're getting a bit hyped there. Perhaps its time for you to get another phone?
Anyway, there was a GBA emulator around which used that, since you wouldn't be able to press both movement and something else at the same time. I have no idea where it is though - was months ago I saw it.
jea got this GBA prog but never played on touchscreen, opera with multitouch would be very fine, but the display of the xperia x1 is to small for that aktion by using fingers... thats my point of view, but i thougt that the hardkeyboard is to small to type, too. and i was wrong
so it would be a nice gag to get opera browser with multitouch function..

Hi!
Please be careful not to make people crazy about a resistive touchscreen, to become a real multitouch with a piece of software.
A resitive touchscreen like on the Xperia is not like the capacitive ones.
There is simply a physical limit.
Please get yourself a little background about these technologies.
When you press two points on a screen, it takes the coordinates exactly in the middle and "presses" that.

Angelusz is absolutely right. Nothing more nothing less!
With a resisitive touchscreen, you can sample only one "touch" at one moment in time.
It doesn't work with a screen full of buttons though, as there might be another button where the "dummy" press occurs.

I won't doubt that some tricky programmers may use the effect, to get something like a multitouch feeling, but the real UI will never behave like it does e.g. on an iphone.
Please slow down dxdiadora

thnx for the information about multitouch but can u plz think about my idea :
to make a prog that:
1.take your first touch save it while you still thouching it you touch somewhere els and "it presses the middle of them " then if you move your finger then the middle moves and the prog will chek if it is closer to the 1st point that he saved so it zoom in the first point you pressed
i know that it cant be like iphone but plzz can u try this trick?? ill be so pleased
thnxxx for helping anyway
As far as I know. and I am really sure about this.. You cant use Multi touch on the x1. like. never unless you changed the touch panel on the phone it self or something like that.
[EDIT]
You know what?? I've decided to shut up. it's a shame really that op is making such a big deal out of this crap. multitouch on resistive? ok.
now cool down a bit, otherwise You may jizz in Your pants...
problem with your idea is that, it doesnt see the first finger placement, the sensors are in the corners , so it doesn't tell where you press, but the dead center of pressure, and it counts that as one press, not two separate finger positions. That being said, there is no possible way for it to save the first press, because the first press doesn't actually exist
iswish

I love the power of the backlight on my Touch HD, and i can change the brightness of the screen in the settings. But im trying to find if someone has created software that only changes the brightness in a quick program mode. it would be handy when im driving to just turn down the brightness so it does not put me off because going through the setting could be a little dangerous
if anyone knows of where i can get this software it would be handy.
thank you
Try SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 or SPB Phone, there will be quick widgets to adjust backlight, volume etc etc. Try to search with ready keys. or let me know, i will help you with SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 keys. Good luck!
There is auto back light function of the WM depending of the ambient light condition. It is not clear from your explanation what exactly you would like to do with the brightness.
I don't know what it's called, but in the EnergyRom there is an "app" that allows you to control the backlight intensity, skinned din a very similar way to volume in the htc. I think that's what you're looking for.

You may just uninstall it. However it is not needed while sending under warranty because it is legal software which modifies no HTC/system things.
BTW: Anyone knows how to change lower backlight limit for autobacklight? I found backlight is still to bright at night.
