If you entered the SIM nr. 3 times wrong the card is locked... you need to enter the unlock code.. but if you entered the code 7 times wrong you can throw away your sim card Get to your mobile operator so they make you a new sim.
I think he does not want to call someone, but to put in his own sim, but his diamond is simlocked ftw...
If you want an unlocker, for free of course, pm me
regards
Firstly, this is the wrong section you're posting in. Next, be clear. Is it SIM Unlock code for carrier based lock or SIM PIN Unlock? If your SIM pin is locked for further tries, call your operator' cus service and ask for puk code.
Regards,
Carty..
why try so many times. you wont be able to unlock ur diamond just like that
I found it out: it is about 5 hours!!!

Sorry for the noobie question, I am a very mediocre computa user and just want to know how to unlock my XDA?
PUK code is to unlock a SIM card when you enter in the wrong PIN for your SIM more than 3 times, then it is locked until you enter in the PUK, the PUK will not unlock the phone and allow you to use different SIMs, you'll have to use one of the utilities on the site for making it SIM free
Exactly as Zabes says...
PUK code stands for Personal UnBLOCKING Code
Not unLOCKING....
It is used to unblock your phone, when you have blocked it by entering the SIM PIN code wrongly more than three times.
It has nothing at all to do with unlocking your phone mate.
Do a search using the search box on this site, for something like "XDA2 Unlock"
Hello
I will be getting the cingular 8125 from my cousin who is in the States.
I live in Pakistan. I have been going through the online tutorial
of this phone and came to know that if i enter the password
incorrectly 3 times, the phone will prompt me for the PUK code.
Now i would like to ask is that, since I am living in Pakistan and
will be using the phone here and also since i m NOT a customer of
Cingular, i wont be able to know the PUK code.
I think the best way will be not to enter a password first of all,
so no password ...no chances of entering a wrong one and getting
the phone to lock up...but still...if it prompts me for a PUK
code, how do i go about it. Can somebody tell me some shortcut
for this problem?
Thank u all
Plabo
PUK codes are for the SIM, not for the phone (though some phones do lock up if you keep using the same SIM). I would assume that you will be using your own SIM card in your..cousin's..phone. When you got your SIM card, there should have been a PUK code somewhere in the package. So if you..forgot..the PIN to your own SIM card, you should still be able to find the PUK in the package.
thanx zeboxx
yes..i got that PUK code with the sim
i will use it if ever my phone demands it..
thank u

Nice and ...subtle... ZeBoxx.. ;-)
Now can you help me unlock this Hermes I got from my...brother's...friend's...uhh grandmother?
I got unlock code from Tmobile USA. After I put in a SIM from another network, Dash asked me to enter unlock code. The problem is it only allows me to enter 8 digits, while the code I got have 15 digits... I unlocked another Dash before and didn't get this problem. I'm using Kavana's 6.1 ROM. Any idea what's wrong?
Thanks.
Never mind. I think TMobile gave me a wrong code... My previou phone's unlock code is 8 digits..
[Q] Repeated "network unlock request unsuccessful" message even after unlocking
[Note, I do not have root (it caused too many weird glitches and I missed OTA updates).]
I have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM originally locked to O2 UK. Months ago they provided me an unlock code and unfreeze code. When I entered it, the phone unlocked. But often, when changing SIM cards, I'd need to enter the code again. No big deal.
A few months ago it took several reboots and inserting the original SIM before the phone would unlock, but randomly it did.
Now I am stuck overseas, and have been trying for 2 days to unlock this piece of ****. The exact same code will not work. The unfreeze code will not work. I even just paid $25 to an unlock website, and the just sent me the same codes, so the codes are definitely right.
I have tried all of the unlocking instructions in their email. Nothing is working.
None of these instructions work. No network unlock screen appears. I believe this feature does not work with this phone:
Code:
Method #2 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE# (8 digit unlock code)
OR
Method #3 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #0111*UNLOCKCODE# (8 digit unlock code)
OR
Method #4 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press #7465625*638*# Once prompted for code, enter the 8 digit Unlock Code.
When I insert a non-compatible SIM card, it asks me for the unlock code, then says "Network unlock request unsuccessful". If I try the unfreeze code, it gives the same message. Then I try the network unlock code again and it gives the same message again.
I have tried everything in the email they sent me, but nothing works.
I refuse to format my phone for this! I have so many settings that would be lost.
Is there anything you can do to help me get this working, or explain to me the correct digits to dial in the dialer to get the mysterious "network unlock screen" to appear? I repeat, the digits above such as #7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE# do not work.

leave me a pm message, include your google id in it, and your model number (eg sgh-t654, gt-b5310 etc)
Thanks. May I ask why?

thought i could help you unlock it directly without need for unlock code, but just found out it needs more than just a usb cable. I am helping out other guys via remote usb connection.
In your case, I cant really help coz ur phone is new on the playground so it needs sophisticated methods to direct unlock it.
I installed cm 9 to my arc and it is usable without sim. But when I insert the sim, it wants a SIM network unlock PIN. What's that? It isn't the sim lock code because I entered the sim lock pin after the phone lock and before my lock pattern.

Just press dismiss and ignore it. It's some CM thing in the ROM.
Do I need to dismiss it every time I reboot? Its okay but its better with a solution.

Yes, because there is no solution right now for it.
The sim unlock code is provided in the box that u bought the sim from. if its a pay as you go pack try to find the sim unlock code if its pay monthly is really hard to find the code, i think they might need to get u a new sim card.
