Problem with fast reply future - About xda-developers.com

The recent weeks I have a problem with the fast reply when the quote box is checked. Every time I sent a message with this way after I push submit button
I take an empty white page and stuck there.
If i stop the loading process with the browser's x button and push back and then refresh the page, I see that the message is there, so its not I big trouble but its a bit annoying.
I made this thread cause I want to report the problem to admins to take care of this.
Hope that this is the right place.

I get this too.
Are you using FireFox?

Yes, I'm using firefox too.
Seems to be browser's problem.

Multitasking

I have noticed sometimes that when I use the multitasking button and switch tasks, the apps seem to restart. I am not sure this is normal. Can anyone help with this or is it just me?
Same here. I suspect that is how android works.

I have had other Android phones and I am sure thats not how it works. I could be wrong though, I went to Windows Phone for 6 months or so and forgot how Android works. Just getting re-acquainted.
Maybe you check this out.
A setting is not read correctly

Keep me informed if it helped
Cheers
Thanks for the answer but it made no difference
I wonder if it is something to do with either the number of background activities or the time they are in the background as sometimes muti tasking works as I would expect and sometimes apps get reloaded. Odd.

I'm pretty sure that this is how Android has been since the Gingerbread update.

Well, you can contact either svetius or TheManii (there's one more, can't remember who, daveshaw?)..through their talk pages or a PM here.
I think the talk page is to be used for wiki issues but either might work.
Also the wiki seems to be taking forever to load.
Thanks for the reports all... I've fixed an error with memcache, and it seems to have improved load time considerably and I am able to edit the wiki with no issues. Can you confirm it is also working for you all?

XDA Forum automatically refresh many times

Hello,
the forum refresh automatically many times.
Is it a problem of my browser (Chrome) or a problem of XDA ?
Try turning off NoScript, at least for this site. This is most likely causing your issue. If that doesn't work, change to 1024 theme, this turns off the sidebar and will fix the issue for you.
same problem using Chrome and when I am logged in

thanks for that ! I became crazy ^^

Touch input offset in some apps

Hi guys,
I noticed a decent vertical offset with all my touch inputs. Whenever I press the screen, it recognizes the touch event about 1cm below the actual input I made.
The weird thing is that this happens only in certain apps, speaking of chrome for example.
Furthermore the hover point of my spen is in the right position, but as soon as I touch the screen, it's too low. Very annoying when pressing links in chrome..
Anyone experiencing the same issue? I'm running the latest firmware bmf2 with my n5100
Ps: you can check it by hovering over the screen, pressing the spen button and then drawing a line..
Edit: this example seems to work only with gmd spen control enabled. Nevertheless the described issue is still present when using chrome and spen control disabled...
Edit:
Possible workarounds:
- flip to landscape and back
- use chrome in multi window mode
I can confirm I have the same problem I thought it was just me lol.

Found out a strange thing:
If I start chrome in multi window mode (using alternate window mode) it seems to work just fine. Does this work for you, too?
At least it seems to be a software issue.. probably fixable (hopefully )
It's the same for me too. Only in Chrome and sometimes the top part of the page is hidden under the address bar.
I think is software related.

Same on mine as well - very frustrating, and I don't see anything on Samsung support pages
Happens on mine too. To clear it try flipping it to landscape and back

Alright, so it seems to be a software bug.. good to hear I don't have to send back my device
Gonna post this in op as possible workaround

I had this problem also but only in Chrome. Finally gave up and went to Opera. So far zero problems. I recommend you try that.
Same here. I hope an update will come soon.

Have you posted it to Samsung's pages? If so, got a link? I'd like to help push getting this fixed. Thanks.
This is a known problem in Chrome:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/chrome/AL-j4HFZOEc/pHxtMmIaa6AJ
As you note, you can easily fix the offset by switching to landscape mode and back. I'm am curious, though, which other apps you've observed this problem with. The only app I've had a problem with is Chrome.

And gmd spen control. If you activate it (try lite version) and draw a line with spen button pushed, you will notice exactly the same offset. Imo it's the same issue, though I have no idea what should cause it for only a few apps and not for others as well..

Interesting... does it go away if you switch to landscape then back to portrait the way Chrome does?

Nope, still present. But didn't play much with it since I prefer gesture control. Haven't reported it to the developer either..
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=260804
Please star the issue, unless one of us has some epic insight on how to fix it.
Seems from the comments on the bug that a fix will be coming in Chrome 29, whenever that gets rolled out. Those running Chrome Beta should see it sometime next week.

Forum requires waiting 20 seconds....

For the past few days, every time I hit the "Submit..." button, I get a message across the top telling me I have to wait 20 seconds before I can post again. It's almost as if my click is being interpreted as "submit, reload-this-same-page, submit again".
My browser is Chrome and is up-to-date as of this posting. I'm on OS X 10.9 at the moment. I can't recall if this occurs on our Win7 machine...
Anyone seeing this behavior ?

Yes , I can confirm the bug. You may also be facing a bug as mentioned here... it has been occuring for quite sometime now.. a few had also mentioned it to the moderators and admins in this thread. I think the moderators and admins are working on this issue to get it sorted. Only a matter of time before it gets fixed. Cheers. !
Glad I'm not the only one. I did browse this sub-forum for something similar in the topic (I did NOT search since the right terms to look for are tricky and I couldn't remember the exact message). I would have NEVER presumed the first thread you linked to was related.
It just did it to me again (it's not consistent, as I'm seeing) and here's the exact wording:
The following errors occurred with your submission:
This forum requires that you wait 20 seconds between posts. Please try again in 19 seconds.

That makes no sense... The post still shows up, it's just that the system stops the 2nd (duplicate) post. It's not consistent either.
Just curious, for those who have seen it, what browser are you using ?

Ah, ok. I thought you were trying to post in two different threads.
After I posted, I realized how it could be an anti-spam option. It would involve replying to multiple threads or starting new threads, yes.

Hi there, I'm using Google Chrome WITH AdBlock extension.
To clarify this, it happens when I'm just replying to one topic.

Any update on this issue? I always use Chrome and this problem happens more often then not when replying.
Terribly annoying.
Wouldn't be surprised if Adblock is the cause, it can do odd things on occasion.
i always get this when posting it seems - but only here. on the odd occasion i dont see that message but 99 times out of a 100 it seems i do
Yeap, I only see it here and I post at a number of vBulletin sites
I am still experiencing this issue on Chrome. Windows 8.1 with Adblock.
Yeap, still happening here. Some days it happens every time I post, other times I can go a few days without seeing it.
I'm not sure if the XDA folks really care though...

The admins (@bitpushr) can't reproduce it, but the more info you provide (browser, addons you're using, etc,) the better.
