has anybody figured out what to do to get a working mms function to the pdaviet tf2d-roms? i currently use v30b, and i tried several versions of arcsoft mms composer on it... but everytime different registry-settings were missing, so for example i was not able to set size limit and so on. when i created the missing entrys manually, i could open mms, but there where no pictures to choose, even on storage card none of my pictures were displayd.. so i tried to send an mms just with text, but nothing happened... mms still stayed in the outbox.. on other versions of arcsoft i jus didn't come that far... i was not able to create a new account on some versions... so maybe something basicly on rom is missing to install mms???
The lastest rom tf2d PDAVIET are all without mms and not only...
no Windows live,no browser,etc..
yes, that's claer, but all of them can be installed after flashing the roms. browser etc. and so mms, too. but mms i can't get to work! google maps runs, opera too and so on... but no matter, what version of arcsoft mms is installed, it never work on this roms... anybody else an idea, why???
Yes,but after to have put within browser, mms, youtube and google maps the device not it moves more..!!This is the problem.
However test to install an other cab for the mms.
Try this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/149970597/ArcsoftMMS_ver5.0.cab.html
thanks, will try that!
for your other post: i have to say that my orbit is unexpected fast and stable also with these (and other) apps on it! manila runs perfect, google maps work great, destinator 6 too, all my other apps needed do so... expect mms (till now..)
couldn't get to work either... now i'm on yue's m2d rom and it's nearly perfect! but thank you for your advise!
Anyone get any joy with mms yet ?
This is stopping probs the best rom yet

I have looked at the wiki for cooked WM6 ROMs, however I am confused as to which one is best for an Orange SPV M3100?
Do all of these work on the M3100 as some say XDA?
It seems that the vanilla one has a few problems with missing icons, sd card dropping, remote desktop missing, no video calling etc.. Are there specific patches for these problems or do you have to put a different ROM on there?
Thanks
Mark
I'm running WM6 for Hermes LVSW Edition (2007-03-15) (WM6 Pro Style) on my M3100, and it runs really nicely. You can enable the video call skin easily on it. Only thing that doesn't work properly (and is the same on ALL WM6 roms so far) are voicemail notifications - they come through as test messages. Not a big problem though.
I use the same version as above. The black edition does seem a bit faster but it seems to have problems with the latest version of spb weather. LVSW has no problems with this so i would say its the most stable which is a shame, Black Edition just looks so dam sexy. Voicemail notifications are not a problem for me because I use my device on 3 UK who sent a text for voicemails anyway.
Just remember if you decide to take the plunge to WM6:
Goodlink will only work on WMXL v.20/.21
You must have Activesync 4.5 installed to sync your device
Push email will only work with Exchange 2007
S.K.

I beg to differ on the exchange 2007 bit, my push email is working fine and we use Exchange 2003 SP2 at my work.
I'm running the WMXL on an Orange SPV M3100 and it runs fine! The push mail is working with an Exchange 2003 SP2 server, and it works except for the HTML. If you want HTML and push mail with Exchange, you need Exchange 2007.
Is it possible to apply all changes/differences to the Vanilla version that exist in the LVSW version or do you have to blast the phone away and start again?
Thanks
Black Edition has problems while putting device on sleep
call accept and call disconnect many times keep lit
also I had alarm fire up failure
It's trully a FAST release but I think It eats up battery much more faster
WMXL if the stablest I've used till now
with no major problems ...
PLEASE to all Cookers
REMOVE the nifty Registry editor
The Included Task manager already has THE BEST Registry manager I've ever seen that has the ability to search, Import and export.
It's trully amazing software!
also Please do your best to If possible to optimize ROM
so as at end of customization the free RAM count to be around 29~30MB...
I would go with Black Edition..Very Quick.
Orange SPV M3100 and LVSW WM6 Pro even for me.....really stable and clean rom!....give it a try ;-)
I am currently running the WM6 Black Edition and so far I like this WM6 ROM the most. It really works quickly and is stable for me...this is the most important feature!
My only issues with it are that Spb Pocket Plus cannot be installed and that sometimes TomTom 6 does not see the maps on the storage card. The TomTom issue can be solved by simply removing and inserting the memory card. The Pocket Plus issue is going to continue for a while. However, there is not much you could miss from that with WM6 and all that is included.
The LVSW version from 3/13 was excellent as well. It did not have any of the problems I mentioned and was almost as quick. It uses the old WM5 dialer in the phone though. Both perform the same function but in the Black Edition it just looks better.
So far I am not sure which is BEST, but the LVSW version never gave me a problem. The Black Edition has shown to little issues, as I mentioned, but it is quicker and looks much better.
I don't know why someone said that Voicemail notifications arrive as text messages. On my phone, with all of the ROMs I have used, they arrive as normal with the VoiceMail icon in the top bar.

Hello!
Has anyone gotten this little nifty program to work under WM6? It installs allright but it doesn't do anything, I'm still getting only the phone number in my delivery notifications and not the corresponding name from my contacts list.
,Olle
I had it working perfectly under WMXL 0.1 and 0.2 and didn't do anything special. It's a great program and I can't live without it!
yeah I agree with you, a great little program.
hm...I'm running WMBE1.2 - maybe there's some difference...or maybe I just need to install it in a specific order after setting "Delivery notification" or whatever....I'll try doing it all over again...
,Olle
did you check the settings? it has to be enabled within the settings after installation.
works here on xda-live 0.1 WM6...
you mean enabling the actual notification ?
I've tried all the different settings in SMSDrFIX as well as disabling/enabling the notification...doesn't help...worked fine under WM5 (South africa room) for me.
,Olle
Works perfect for me... with lvsw (various versions) and with black 1.1 and 1.2
After install, go programs and set the config for SMSDrFix to get the name of SMS sender
strange....well I'll try again after a clean install when 1.3 becomes available.
,Olle
I installed it on my SPV M3100 with WM6 LVSW (from 26.3.2007) and it works perfect...
smsdrfix cannot work
I also can't make it to work. using Kaiser W6.1
Okay, this seems dumb. But I managed to make it work by soft resetting my Kaiser. Wonder whether you have tried this already.
Is it possible to disable the "pop-up baloon"? Before SMSDRfix when you received delivery receipt it just notified you on TF3d (messages tab) and an icon in the status bar. The baloon realy aggravates me, especially if I send to multiple receipients at once (employees). Thanks for any insight on this!
Hey folks here is the download link for Arcsoft MMS 4.2
http://www.jainamarie.com/ArcSoftMMS42.zip
Hopefully the chefs implement this newer version in the roms they cook.
I, on the other hand, am having some difficulties installing it cuz i have the old Arcsoft MMS 4.0 version still stuck on mine. Does anyone know how to uninstall it? Its not in the add/remove programs list so i'm a bit lost as to how to remove it from my phone before i can implement version 4.2.
Thanks in advance and enjoy!
Have had a look at this. There appears to be no MMS part to this app. It has only TXT Messages and E-mail.

THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED BY MMSLITE BUILD303
SEE POST 135: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2390456&postcount=135
Problem:
MMSLite does not work on the new WM6.1 ROMs
It installs with no problem, but then in the Messaging screen there is no MMS account.
Looking at the RASBook in the registry, it seems that the hidden connection necessary is being created. Also other registry entries connected to MMSLite seem to be okay.
History:
MMSLite is a program used to access (Japanese provider) Softbank's special push mail system.
Previous versions of MMSLite have automatically created a MMS account and the connection necessary to access this account.
This same problem happened with some WM6 ROMs that had the dual SMS/MMS account cooked-in.
Questions:
Does anyone know how to fix this? (Wouldn't that be nice.)
Who is the creator of MMSLite and how can I contact him/her?
How has the structure of the Messaging application changed in 6.1?
Have other MMS-related applications been affected by changes in 6.1?
The file "cemail.vol" can't be modified may cause MMSLite don't working.
And it cause spb backup fails to restore the messages.
It happens on some of the WM6.1 Roms, but the first one (WM6.1 from the Vietnamese BBS).

I have tried many method to delete the file but failed.
Need the answers too.
Anybody tested the "Softbank Mail" app on WM6.1?

I gave up on that Softbank Mail app. It was slow and cumbersome. Personally, I would rather not be able to access MMS than use that software.

Agree. Using Softbank Mail is really a pain.
Seems the app "DRAW" everything on the screen instead of using controls.
Maybe that's the reason why it's soooooooooooooo slow.
However, I will give it a try on this weekend.
Good News
I just tried Pays WWE215 Full(+ Askal e-chinaV62 No.5 + Ask IME_31J), MMLite is works fine.
I think softbank mail should work on this rom too.
Sorry I am wrong. This rom uses Big Storage ROM v3.62.
Will try another soon.

Totally agree a soft like (MMLite + EMOJI) would be wonderfull.
I've got a method of seeing emoji, but they are in black and white. Check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288136&page=9
Be sure to read to page 10 as there is an easy .cab file.

Mate, just a note to say it works fine on CRC PHK, the latest version. Like you I had problems on earlier 6.1 roms. The interface is slightly different, but all works. Oh, and MMS/SMS are separate too!

BOMB! So anything based on the PDAViet ROM is cool it seems. I tried Pandora's version 13.5 and have MMSLite running.
Edit: NO BOMB! Spoke too soon.
So roms in this forum used another base rom.
Just tested Pays ROM Full - WM6.1 WWE with Big Storage RC2. MMLite don't work. Softbank mail works fine.

Thnaks alot for the info.
Tried the emoji thing, works great for me.
And tried Pandora Kitchen too.
MMLite works, but the file cemail is still locked by some process.
Can't restore from previous backup by SPB Backup,
I do have the memory that saw my restored messages get threaded by the new WM6.1 messeging app. Must be the original VietBBSRom.
So, some ROMS work, some dont.
is there a list of working ROMS?
and how to figure out what version on WM6.1 was used to cook a rom, to make sure it will work with MMSlite?
Tried another
Tried Hermes_ShadoW_2.0_CE(Build 19521.1.1.0) from Cloudyfa, MMLite dosen't work.
But Spb backup does work.
Waiting for a rom to let those two thing both work.
has anyone tested the new Pay's ROM Light\Full version from Feb 11th?
does it work with MMSlite?
It works! had no problems with it so far. 24 hours. Although, his rom seems to be slightly unstable. I have been getitng lots of random hangs with it. Might be due to MMSlite. But atleast it doesn't disappear from the mail selection menu!
Edit: it doesn't work. 24 hours was the limit. Same old problems. See my post 23 below.

I have observed the same with Pandora Naked 9b1 and have lost emails this way. Not every time, but sometimes when I sent a test mail when MMS had disappeared from the selection screen it never arrived. So be warned, you may miss emails.
Are there any WM6.1 roms that allow sending SMS to an email address? I know some of the WM6 roms did and some did not. This was a big feature for me any ideas?
Hi,
Call your provider for the number for sms to mail.
solution for T-Mobile Germany:
Send sms on number 8000 with first entry the mail adress.
Code:
example SMS to 8000:
[email protected] hello, this is sms to mail.
wfg
starbase64
Part of the problem is that I have never had to do that before with ATT. With many other ROMs and with regular cell phones on the ATT network you can simply type in the email address and send the message. If this is a limitation of using WM 6.1 it would probably make me go back to a WM 6 ROM that allows it.
With many other ROMs? custom ROMs?
because I always thought SMS-2-Email was carrier setting dependent.
I was able to do it with the ATT ROM that came with the phone originally and then I was only able to do it on certain custom ROMs
It is definitely rom based because it wouldn't work with schaps roms but works fine with K's roms & vp3g's.
I was testing ShaDoW's 6.1 CE rom and I loved his work on that rom - it was awesome! Fast and very stable, ... but I had problems with the MMS on it. So much so, that I just recently switched back to VPG's 3.62.3 rom. It's a little slower, but it has full MMS functionality.
I really liked 6.1 better. I hope someone fixes the MMS problems with it. As I understand it, its not just ShaDow's rom that is having problems, but it's something with most - or all - of the 6.1's.
I'm hoping VPG comes out with his version of the 6.1 rom!
Got it!!
