Hello All,
I really hope this post doesnt make an entry in the famous "Hall of shame" but after updating to win 6.1 I noted that my phone is loosing time. Every half hour the phone is behind by 10-11 minutes (avg).
I am using Excalibur with kavana 6.1
Any ideas....??
Thanks
Yes go to the settings and then go to clock and alarm, then go to date and time... and finally scroll to the bottom and enable automatic time/time zone. This should solve your problem.

In light of this post Battery drainage tips&tricks How to Increase Your Battery Life I have created a cab with the registry suggestions..it is the same cab that has been around at the Juno section of XDA and the same one that is on allshadow.com both phones share similar Smartphone registries and so the cab should work just fine on the Excalibur.
Here is the download SaveBatteryHTC_Juno.cab
Its a simple step... you install and that is it.. it will just work.. if for what ever reason you don't like it simply uninstall it and your registries should go back to what they where before you installed the cab.
Great post, I would recommend people try this because I tried this myself and noticed much improvement in battery. Also, its a .cab, therefore, you can always uninstall if your phone gets unstable for any reason. Hope this helps everyone and thanks again for this post.
I just installed it, i'll try it out. Thanks for the post.
im going to try dis out cuz i need it
I just installed in on my Excalibur, what exactly does the cab do, I'm just curious

Did you read the first post completely? there is a link to another post of the registry entries info..
Haha its so funny how people install things that they do not know what it does on their phone... Anyways it seems to work excellent. Thanks for this.
I know what this does
but can someone tell me if they actually saw the difference, and i know it basically disables Activesync from syncing automatically but what if Activesync does not sync automatically (atleast in my case, I don't see anything on the task manager)
can someone better explain how it does what it does and correct me if i'm wrong.
on the other hand, my battery sucks - it dies with 1/2 day of use i.e. all i do is make phone calls/maybe use palringo but checks email every 5 mins but now i changed that setting to 2 hours so it doesn't use data that often but so far, it dies pretty soon.
Would I see a difference using this .cab? (to the people that have used it and have seen a difference)

There has been many "tests" done on this by many ppl www.allshadow.com most agree that it "adds" 3 hours to your battery life..
You can try this yourself.. turn on your bluetooth and wifi and use your phone on a normal day... remember when you turned on the phone and remember the time you are done for the day and see how much battery life you have left...
then
next day install my cab and do the same.. turn on your bluetooth and wifi and use your phone on a normal day.. remember to start at same time of day you started to track the day before.. and end at the same time.. at the end of day at same time as day before.. look and see how much battery life you have left.. you should notice a difference...
although some say that this hasn't worked for them to where they see an improvement most have said that they have noticed an improvement as I have.

beautiful. I'll do that tommorow and install your cab on the sunday to see the difference. I liked how you laid it out, appreciate it.
I'll post feedback once I'm done the test.

No problem I, as well as other im sure, look forward to entertain your results.
Simply touching basis on the results of my simple test I have conducted..
I have uploaded to the post the screen pics of the power consumption the battery underwent while it had the cab installed..
Please keep in mind that this test went for two days.. one day(thumnails) with the cab installed and the next day (look at the links) with the cab removed..
On both days I did the usual.. made calls and texts till my fingers got numb..
On both days I started at 0320 and on both days ended at or about 2123 (923pm) on the same day respectfully.
You will notice that the screen caps done withing the phone which had the cab installed that day shows I had a reasonable amount of battery life left at the end of the day..
On the second day which I didn't have the cab installed you will see on the pictures of the phone I took with my camera (windows crashed and it messed up my linux partition.. just fixed it ) it will show you that there is an exclamation mark where the battery meeter is and you will see the battery consumption lower..

Hey when I tried installing this .cab(and other cabs) after I flashed my dash to the Rogers rom it says "...cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permission." I assume I have to unlock something? I already tried SDA_ApplicationUnlock unless I didnt do it right? help please!

When I had the Dash I used Ricky's Kavana version ROM i believe it was V24, it didn't have any problems installing cabs.. and yes it seems like your ROM is still somehow locked..
do a search on the forum for networkunlock cab
here is the cab i was talking about.. it also helps to unlock your phone..
I am using the version 24 and it seems to work just fine even with out the application unlock program...
Here's my dumb question for the week... would this work on my moto Q9h??
Did anyone else's phone mess up this morning? I woke up at about 2:30 am (I have a newborn baby) and my Pro2 had corectly updated the clock by one hour, there was also a message on screen telling me.
Then at 6:30 when I work it had shifted the clock a second time so my phone said 5:30!!!
At least yours shifted back on it's own, my Diamond and my Kaiser didn't lol.
My TP2 is off for repair so I couldn't check that.
I didn't check at 2:30 (sorry I slept) but when I woke up at 8 (sorry again) the clock on my Rhodium (WM 6.1) was one hour behind and it still is. I went looking for settings regarding daylight savings time but I couldn't find any.
Mine did the right thing
mine did the right thing too
Mine updated the time correctly only after a soft-reset, but it didn't display any notification regarding the update.
Us yanks will let ya know next week ;-)

My TP2 updated correctly with the on screen DST message. I have 4 other WIn MO devices and all updated. Have you checked your Setting/Personal/phone/time/ ? the "Automatic change time zone and clock" box is checked for all my devices. Hope that helps.

It gets quiet annoy after a while. I tried disable the automatic update timezone in phone settings but every soft reset the check mark comes back there. Does any body knows the solution to this problem? Thanks

That is a ROM related issue, I eliminated with installing another ROM.
And donĀ“t forget to vote for Rhodium!
Is there any way to fix it from registry or it must need another rom?
well I tried several things ...

I've been having the same problem, tried the advanced config and that didn't work.
yeah I can't figure this one out
I'm having the same issue with the official 6.5 T-Mobile US ROM. It doesn't happen every time I soft-reboot, but it happens most times. Annoying.
I end up flash to a new rom to fix this..
I had the same problem, but just today I realized it wasn't happening, but I be it will start again. Anyway, this guy seemed to have fixed this issue:

Thank you for that link. The cab file posted seems to have done the trick. And thanks a million times to Warlock for making the discovery and creating the cab file.
Same thing for me. For a while it wouldnt even hold my time zone. Kept moving me back to Arizona. I used Advanced Config and restored all defaults. Still get the time zone prompt on every soft boot but atleast it keeps me in Colorado now.
\m/ just ran through the thread above. Used cab2 and no more nagging time zone! You the man thanks!
Looks a good fix, but I wonder if I happen to travel to a different time zone will this fix makes my phone stay with the original time or will time still update as usual?
I have found in general that screen goes away on its own giving enough time. Also if I'm in an open area (easier access to satellite for location info) it doesn't come back.
I am wondering the same thing here.

Hey everyone,
I've tried searching all over the place, but I can't seem to find any answers. The 1.33.422.1 HTC ROM (Win Mobile 6.1) had a configuration setting that lets you adjust how long the WiFi will stay on after the screen blanks. I have searched high and low, but I can't seem to find anywhere to adjust this in Win Mobile 6.5. I'm now running EnergyROM build 06/20/2009.
Does anyone know where I can find this setting? Thanks in advance.

Go to Comm Manager>>>>>>>click on Settings and choose WLAN Settings>>>>scroll down to Power Mode, there you can change the timeout of your Wifi.
Good Luck,
*FACEPALM* Haha, wow. Right in the open. Thanks!
I actually just set my wifi from never to 5 seconds, i check my mail all periods of the today but i must say, i Like battery life much more now, normal always on wifi 11am til 830 pm but today my phones been on since 11 am and its now 126am and I still have 56% not bad and I didnt feel like i missed anything when i was ready to look at my phone i would just have to resync stuff good stuff long live the s62X : ))
Thanks for the tip. I normally set it to 10 seconds, but I need to set it to 2 minutes when I'm using Pandora. 2 minutes is enough time to span any buffering gaps between songs so that I can have a continuous stream of music.
I seem to be having a problem with my Alarm Clock for some reason and can't figure out what is happening.
Last week I had to get up @ 7:25AM so I tapped the clock on the home screen, set one alarm to 7:25 and one to 7:30 so I would not oversleep. Worked flawlessly all week so no worries there. This week, I don't really need to get up since I'm off from work, so I went to the home screen, tapped the clock and not only slid both sliders to "Off" for the alarms, I also made all alarm-clocks show 0:00.
Surprise surprise; for 7 days straight, my phone is waking me @ 7:25AM and then again @ 7:30AM.
Looked up the registry setting HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Clock and check the 3 registry-keys for all 3 alarms. All seem to be set to NOT wake me at all.
Getting quite tired of this; anyone has any idea to how to solve?
What ROM?
Have you tried rebooting after you made the change?
WinMo is quite dumb at times.
Forgot to mention indeed but using the Energy-ROM.
Rebooted my phone both after changing the alarm-time and after changing/checking the registry. Both failed coz I woke up 7:25AM again today...

Sorry, I haven't used WinMo in ages. Random weird issues like this drove me batty. Android has gotten to the point where (for me) I can use it daily. Good luck.
You may just need to clear your notification queue. This has been a long running bug in WM since PPC 2003 was out. The simplest way by far is to use SK Tools. If you are a WM user who doesn't own this, then something is wrong with you!
The other, much longer, option is detailed by JVH3 in THIS POST.

Ditch WM .
Rebooting was obviously a bust...
Late update but it seems to have solved itself...
Well, not completely without a hitch; I started with cleaning out the registry. Then I disabled all push-updates to the phone (weather, mail, gps mapping and so on). Set all alarm-clocks to 0:00 and rebooted the device a few times. Next morning, the alarm went off again so I rebooted it again.
And ever since, not had this problem again... And yes, people saying to ditch WM, I might but in a month time I can get a new/free phone from my provider but unsure if I will go for Android or WM7.5.

I posted the known solutions a few posts back. SKTools is the simpler one of the two. If you can't get your hands on a copy of it, there was an alternative in that same post. All you have to do is clear your notification queue.
