Whosdaman ripped most of my work. I sent him all the OEMs, because I trusted him. I told him not to make some stuff public. If you want to see where all the stuff originated from go to PPCHaven, and under Premium content see NFSFAN's ROMS. XDA didn't create Manila2D, it was created by HTC, and the guys here ripped it out of the Opal Dump Rom. The HTC EzSips found on XDA work cabbed, but do not work properly when made into an OEM. I spend a good couple of hours fixing up the rgu made from the cab. Most of the manila2d credit goes to HTC and to those on XDA who ripped it out of the Opal Dump. The charge and battery icons you see in whosdaman roms are those which i ripped out of opal and gave to him, because he didn't know how to. I've helped him to improve his rom, given that I get proper credit. He has credited me, but completely ignored the fact that I told him not to release some stuff.
At least he didn't alter your work and call it his own.

Well...I feel dishonored, as I don't even get a say in my side, NFSFAN told me I was allowed to use the OEM he told me in my ROM as long as I didn't tell anyone the secret on how to fix it....now I had a working OEM but with a little issue, he had the fix and he said to use his instead so I did....and I have given him full credit as well....you can check my credits and thanks in my thread, and it was change as soon as I updated to v1.5, which was the first version to contain the fixed HTC EZinput and I also Added the Diamond Sound and Battery Images as well....but the rest of the stuff I made myself by downloading the CABs from this site from the XDA Team

This whole thing is getting out of control. Chefs, (me included) need to chill out with the whole credit thing. In more cases than none, the proper credit is given. If it is not, simply pm the person, not put them on blast in a public manor. Usually it is a mis-communication. This in my opinion, would be resolved if the dumb DONATE BUTTON would be banned. Not once have i requested money nor do i think its necessary for any chef to do so. I do it for fun and share incase anyone else would like to use my work. This community is falling apart from cases like this.

He deserves NO respect.
Well OK... as a chef hes a genius, as a person, with his attitude, he deserves NOTHING.
I'm sure MS would prefer us not to talk about their stuff, I'm sure the operators would prefer us not to talk about their stuff.

A little respect and a THANK YOU to the creator of what you are now reading and wanting to download and use wouldn't hurt you know. I'm not in anyway affiliated with JJ, but I do respect his wishes since we are the ones sitting around waiting for him to finish this colossal task of cooking a ROM for us... at least we can say thanks and not attack him on top..... my 0.02...

I know http://wmblack.info/ may have the latest release but the http://wmblack.info/ website doesn't tell us if the release has the dll conflict and soft reset issues resolved (hang during shadow splash). just wondering if this release is OK. I'm sure there are plenty of users waiting for this release to stabilize before going through the install process and then discover my hermes just hangs at some splash screen and have to go through the cycle of doing soft and hard resets....

Flashed the Rom and no problems.
Nice.
But have removed the HTC homeplugin. Preferred my own combination, but a nice try.
Re the ROM discussion on XDA - whilst I am a fan of JJ I do not see how trying to restrict discussion on here is practical or the logic in it. As long as everyone is aware that if you want to feedback to JJ and recieve support from JJ then you need to do it on the official website. People can chat about the ROM wherever they like, they may just be misinformed or not receive any help, but that is their choice.
I do not think that trying to block additional mirrors will be practical although as I have not had any problems with the main downoad page, so not sure why mirrors are needed.

So, this is the placeholder thread for a ROM we intend to produce... we want ideas... donations would be a plus, we don't actually have a Diamond.
Also, we want people familiar with building and extracting NBHs, or with a bit of savvy, who we can trust who we want to give our signing certificate to so they can sign ROMs (for yourself, and for other people)

yes, another project... since Tom Codon is just a feckless untalented twit who uses other people to release **** (yep, jocky made his (unworking) Hard-SPL, not Tom), he had success with the Nike project in getting a free device, so he fancied freeloading his way to one here. (interestingly, I was originally slated to get a device... enough money was made but it seems that disappeared into Tom's pocket)
So, I frankly don't like this crap, so we're stepping in to take over basically... this is partly why we're releasing the Hard-SPL with signing, so good Ole Tom doesn't rip us off and resume his game.
I was originally uninvolved in these politics, then people started telling me how Tom was deliberately trying to avoid working with me so he could release a Hard-SPL and keep the stuff to himself, well, I guess that ****ing backfired now.
Anyway folks, me, cmonex, bepe and walshieau plan to bang out a a suitable ROM for your delight.
So, anybody with ROMs, skills and anything to contribute, PM Me or Cmonex (or post here, we'll get around to PMing you)!

Yeah, I think HTC are going to **** themselves a bit when they find this... and believe me they will, they're not particularly fast off the mark at catching this crap, but they'll find it eventually.
Next week I'll throw a big piece of **** in the bonfire by releasing a sim unlocker.

Since they can never lock down the OS to prevent you running your own apps (because that'd never sell) they can't stop us putting stuff in RAM, so no matter what they try, we always have an angle to load our own stuff to flash.

If they manage to completely rebuild the bootloader, you'd need to work out how to use it, which would at least slow you down...
i beleive "Hard-SPL" is a trademark of Oilpro (you know if you a hermes user)

If you're not into politics why are you making things harder by confronting everyone all the time? Don't you see you are like tom_codon yourself, "shamelessly" accepting donations and "keeping the stuff" to yourself?
Oli and cmonex do a lot for this community whether you realize it or not. It seems like every new device that hits has oli and cmonex working on tools like hard spl and unlockers to further our tweaking and hacking needs. I can see why he gets frustrated with the state of things, he works quite hard on solving these technical challenges and all he gets for it is ripped off as in the case of people selling his unlockers on ebay. He may not seem like the friendliest of guys here but even if you don't like him you should at least respect him. I tip my hat to you oli and cmonex, you put up with more crap here than I likely would.
Once again the theme i use can no longer be updated! Why for the love of god are we still arguing about giving credit for a few stupid icons? Personally i'm giving up on the xda themes board! Do we honestly want to argue about who owns a freaking metallic bar or clock? Or would we rather have decent themes? Well i know what i wanted, but as i seem to be in the minority I'm giving up on the board and it's Nazi mods - yes i'm sure i'll get banned for this but as it's going to be impossible to download any themes anyway what difference does it make!

I just wanted to remind you that what you just described only represents a very small minority of this community.
So long as you ask for permission BEFORE you post any "hybrids", then there shouldn't be a problem. A few "stupid" icons is someone's hard work. Permission for releasing SOMEONE ELSE'S work is required anywhere. It is not a XDA forums only deal.

i dont use the theme but yeah this dumb imho.. especially like brandek said.. most devs have said they honestly dont care.. a nice gesture.. but not required.. oh well.. guess our community lost a theme and a developer over some nonsense.. =/

To be completely unbiased about the whole situation and shed a bit of light on the whole issue... if the theme developers who originally created the art are open to anyone using their work they need to specifically say so in their posting of a theme. Taking icons from deviant art and not giving credit is a violation of intellectual property rights and could result in lawsuits if appropriate actions are not taken and if permission directly from the artist is not given. Being a person that worked for several years in the entertainment industry, I can tell you first hand that you need to cite work if its not yours... regardless where it comes from. If you "borrow" art for your own purposes, good for you but don't expect a good reaction if you release it as your own.
Recap:
1. Theme makers, if you don't care if people use your original artwork for their own themes... make sure to document very clearly when posting your themes.
2. "Tracers" <'Chasing Amy' reference for those who know it> if a theme maker says they don't care that you use their work please give credit. The artwork isn't as easy as it looks to be and a lot of free time that could be spent else where is being used to contribute to the freedom that we have on this forum.

all the mods said is add your sources but he did not, and as for a few icons just from my theme his dialer and a few icons are from me how hard is it to thank the creators for the use of their work? it is the polite thing to do. like i said i don't care if people use my images but post where you get the images from. i am sorry to see he is banned for good all he had to do was add the sources.we all would like a descent theme but if you are asked to add sources do it, no big deal.the rules are fair and understandable. i would have liked to see him get one more warning, but i don't know if he did. when you make a theme or wallpaper you like to here looks good or nice or get some positive post on it same with the images.

If the creator of hybrid can take the time to edit and take apart everyones theme to create his "hybrid" why can't he take 3 minutes to cite who's theme icon A was taken from?

All it sounds like is miss use power of the mods. He gave credit to the authors of the themes he said. Still he gets banned for not complying with some rule pulled out of the air after a week. But I mean a week... maybe something came up.
I remember in school if you failed to give credit to your source for a essay you just got marked down a few % in your grade. you didnt get dropped from the class or kicked out of school for it.

All it sounds like is miss use power of the mods. He gave credit to the authors of the themes he said. Still he gets banned for not complying with some rule pulled out of the air after a week. But I mean a week... maybe something came up.
I remember in school if you failed to give credit to your source for a essay you just got marked down a few % in your grade. you didnt get dropped from the class or kicked out of school for it.

He was asked to give credit to the themes which he borrowed and he gave attitude. So he got a 1 week ban to cool off and come back to make things right. He didn't and gave more attitude and now he is banned for good. He had his chance and he blew it. Oh well his theme was ugly and wasn't even a good mashup.

I hate to admit it, but everyone has moved on to the HD2. They have pretty much everything working on the HD2 but there is no developers working on the Rhodium and we have no sound yet.
I really thank all the devs and everyone else involved into making Android run on our Rhodiums, but we gotta face the truth someday. It was fun and I cook WinMo ROMs for the Rhodium, but we gotta realize its dated. The only reason I still have my Rhodium is because it has a keyboard. I'm waiting for a humming bird core HTC phone with QWERTY to make the upgrade. I know some people are gonna flame. Its OK I understand you want to hold on to that Rhodium you have. We ALL do.
PS: Its sad seeing craiglisters selling Android for the HD2. I wish I could kill them all. They don't deserve any money since they did not do any of the work involved nor did they contribute ONE thing. This is why I hate scenes like the smartphone scene... People take credit for what isn't theirs.

I an getting a little woried that we have reached the point of no return. It would be helpfull if the devs did post updates to let use know where we stand. I am not giving up hope just yet. I can't upgrade for quite some time and don't want to pay out the nose for something that could give me just what I am looking for.
Just want so feedback from devs to know what's up?

Its funny, I bet there were people like you guys years ago for the Kaiser and Vogue... they work 100% now BTW. It doesnt mean people still use their Kaiser with Android for their daily phone (some do of course) but thats not what XDA is about. This used to be a strickly development forum, now its full of "gimme-gimme" users who think the OP of the thread is Customer Service.

Keep up the good work. Ignore the leeches. All they do is take. They dont realize that their purpose should be to test and return feedback on the testing. Instead they seem to think that this forum is like you said, full of customer service reps. Its pathetic.
Anyhow, there are tons of people who appreciate all of the developers work and look forward to more updates.
Yea Reefer, let em have it. I wish I could help more to unlock the potential of this phone. It really is a pretty slick device that just wasn't given enough polish or muscle. I researched the purchase of it for months beforehand and don't want to just give it up now.

OP, there is work being done on the sound issue, however it is slow going. I try following the development, but it's WAY over my head.

Wrong. they make a rom and put it on here for everyone. and lets say 50 people download it. and 25 of them have a problem with it. you realy thing that a dev has time to try and fix 25 peoples problems while at the same time make updates to the roms cause your demanding them? thats not how it works. if you install a rom and something goes wrong then you ask the 24 other people if any of them have had the same problem or found a fix. your a tester. if your getting the devs work for free. the least thing you could do is test it and let everyone know how it works.

You may think its dead but for people who still own the TP2, like myself, would like to see this till the end. I still have another year with this phone before I can upgrade and I cant fork out 500+ dollars to buy a new one like the HD2 or Incredible. I'm sure there are others out there in the same situation. So just because you were able to move on with an upgrade doesn't mean its dead.
sound will be working in a matter of time acl is making head way on it over at ppcgeeks.

Hmm, just got back into town and see the bashing continues. Reef, did you actually download and examine my file to come to this conclusion? I've been running Xdandroid for 3 months. I don't remember when I updated to 2.2..I believe it was July. All of my IPhone Geekers are asking me how to Jailbreak there devices(I haven't got a clue and don't plan on it). It is great work here and I am excited, looking forward to continuos great work. Positive injection..

Good. We are all disgusted when people steal things and try to claim them as their own.
Maybe if you said where it came from, how you put it together, or highlighted HOW it's different from other builds that are already posted, we would be MUCH more receptive... But from your first post, it just looks like you stole it and tried to pass it off as something you built. That is just shameful, and will NOT be tolerated on this forum.
I didnt see any claim of ownership, unless the post was edited.
A history of the files and such of course would be helpful. And credit given to those who actually created the files is a no-brainer.
But still, I know XDA is the "big leagues", but cant we be a bit nicer? For all we know, this guy could be the next big thing. Just saying...

in the OP he said it was not reef's build. He's not taking credit, but he's not giving it either, which is probably what bothered most of the people in this thread.
