what phone to go to after the dash

i really love the dash and was wondering if there are any phones coming out that'll be similar style but better? Especially if tmobile is rolling out with 3g soon.

Hey all, Check these out! These are the soon to be released Motorola Phones! The first two are totally portable and I think double as clubs in case your getting attacked. The last one is the new Bag Phone that you can actually use as carry on luggage for when you travel. And yes, I would take these over the new iphone 3g anyday.

If you compare specs the X1 is better than what HTC is coming out with.. its rumored that HTC even made the phone for Sony.. so hope that could be a sign that Sony might drop Ericsson and pic up HTC if the phone does well..

I would also think that since the phone was just released in EU... i think.
With an American release late Q4 or early 09 Q1.. I would think by the time that i think the dash is no longer useful, spring 09ish id say.. the price would drop..
Of course i haven't seen it yet but im not sure if the touch pro will work with tmobiles 3g.
Then again thats just me

Well all in all if T-Mobile is gonna release the HTC Touch Pro And It Will Have 3G internet service then thats the phone i will be getting... only phone TMO offers with 3G right now is the blackberry perl.... and not looking to go from the dash to the perl there is no way... so im just gonna wait.

i was hoping for something similar to dash design. I like the keyboard right there and not having to slide the phone to get to the keyboard.

hey whats up peeps.
ive been dying over the last few days. I do currently have a dash, and my contract will be up in about 2 months. ive been going to a bunch of cellphone stores, to kinda research what i want next, and im pretty much thinking about waiting unit either the touch pro 2 comes out or the snap. the real reason im writing tho, is because i have recently fallen in love with the visuals from the newest blackberrys. however i personally thing the blackberry os is useless and not as smart as wimo. so dose anyone know of a skin/theme that can emulate something like the blackberry bold?

I don't think anybody else wants to make their Dash look like a Blackberry but you, good luck on that.

Sorry but it looks like nobody else is interested on making their dash look like a BB.
This is the only thing that I would consider to use that's pretty sweet, if I wasn't addicted to the sliding panels. You might like it.

I woundnt mind on having the BB like UI on my dash as long as I can use my cabs. I sometimes refer my dash as "the poormans blackberry"

all i want is a homescreen theme. i swear if i knew how to do this i would so do it

i just ordered the Touch Pro 2 from Verizon for myself and the Touch Pro for my fiance.
u got $150 hop on ebay and grab a TouchPro thats ur best bet for ur buck!
and the modding and clarity is gonna rock ur socks!!

walmart has got alot of T-mo phones for about %30 less than retail.

they got em there, it caught my eye when was walking by the kiosk today. I forget the price though. they still have black Dash's there too. Get em while their still hot!

i actually have a black dash right now lol, i love my dash, and will probably still use it, just want something new.

If you don't have a Kasier\Tilt then can't go wrong for £150, just been checking ebay.com and many in your price range, not much else with such a great ammount of ROMs and good spec

I just "upgraded" from the regular dash to the "Black" dash (I really just purchased a black dash from ebay and swapped the case with my dash so I wouldn't have to reinstall and setup everything all over again).
I have to say, the "black" dash just looks so much more hi-tech then my original "steel" faceplate one

that is so FAIL... the chrome faceplate is 100x better. and really... i think it'd be easier to reflash and install than swap cases. I'm guessing you don't save everything on a sim card and backup your registry. you should try it... really...

just get a mytouch 3g with the promo code. 99 bucks that means you got 51 for a nice case and a large pizza for dinner

Im waiting for the release of the motorola cliq next month. Its android, nice keyboard with no chin, and the touchscreen supports multiple touch (unlike g1).

Multi-touch is enabled by the OS, not the hardware. The new version of Android that will be on the Cliq will also be available for the G1 and MyTouch. Word is that multi-touch is already built into Cupcake it is just turned off by default.

Not true, some screens support it better than others.
The g1 has an older screen that althought it does work, it doesnt work say as good as the my touch.
But the mytouch doesnt have a keybaord.

Multi touch works just as good on my g1 as it does mytouch. the cliq is going to be running donut most likely instead of cupcake but cyanogen's mod has close to a third of the donut's tree already working and it won't be long till we see a prerelease of donut on the g1 and mytouch like we've seen 6.5 here on the excalibur forum. And the mytouch is fail from a lack of keyboard. The only decent way to type is to turn if sideways and the keyboard still doesn't stand up the samsungs memoir and beholds. I swear if those phones had android id call the g1 a fluke in a heartbeat

Like your description for the phone, i believe everybody here in the form feels like you do. If the evo 4g had such a huge amount of developers around it, I can only imagine the amount of love this phone will get.

The good thing is that the GSII has been out for a few months, and has plenty of development. I wonder if the base stock ROM is similar.

Oh yeah...this device is just, really what Android should be. It's borders on g'damned religious epiphany.

Samsung definitely did it right with the Galaxy S2.

Finally! But its nothing like that 3D POS got. I loved the Evo 4G but IMO the NS4G and this new beauty have been the best phones since it...although the Photon wasn't bad at all but returned it before my 30 days for the S2.

Any word on CM for this thing?

I think I saw about the same, 3-5 commercials during games...and like 3-5 dozen J-Lo Fiat commercials. But I digress.
I think they're not over advertising because supplies/distribution are really low right now. I know the Sprint store we got our phones from only had 14 in-store on Friday (they had 5 on Tuesday when I reserved 2, and then got another 9 in Friday morning), and were down to 3 when my wife and I picked ours up 2-hours before close. The Best Buy across the parking lot only got in 2 for Friday, and no accessories at all.

I really suspect that they are probably saving some revenue for a big push with the new iphone. I love my epic touch but I think the the new Iphone will be the perfect phone for my girl. Way off topic though. I agree OP I am in love with this phone too. My day off today my girl went out and I stayed home all day messing with my new toy.

I'm headover heels in love too!....(cept...I'll probably betray her when Nexus Prime is onveiled...shhhh)

It's a great marketing tool. People are edgy about WP7 (and I'm guessing 8.) and this is a great way for them to try it out. Microsoft should do something similar as well.

hey so I now have my brand new white lumia 900 and everything about it so far is brilliant. I'm only missing one app so far that being Sky +. I have the norms Facebook, twitter, foursquare, Skype IP con errors and a host of others. Its synced all my contacts ithout issue no duplicates. So far its all good
I will keep you updated

All in all about 5/6 days in total, in really loving this phone its been awesome so far with everything I have asked of it, I highly reccomend you all at least have a go with one. I honestly think Windows Phone may be the way forward, Apple lost my interest a long time ago as they only ever seem to add a few new features with each release and not revamp the entire OS and lets face it the phones have pretty much stayed the same. As for Android well I do love it however maybe in just getting old because this Windows Oas just feels more professional and well just better !!!

I'm currently an Android user, and looking to Windows Phone as my next OS. My device was recently stolen, so I'm looking to by a new device. But I have no idea which one to buy. Most windows devices look the same expect the Nokia 900. It's an amazing device. But what makes it difference between this device, and the Radar?

The OS is the same. There are some Nokia exclusive apps for a short period of time, but that's about as far as the difference software wise goes between a Nokia and the Radar. The major difference between the Lumia and the Radar is the build quality. Everything after using the solid as a rock Lumia feels like crap.

I hope I get one. I really want to try out windows. That new lumia 920 is sick!

soooo been using this beast for a few days now not everything can be awesome so, im not a big fan of the camera i the dark it reminds me of a phone from 5 years ago the flash just isnt good enough to be fair, on the flip side in the middle of the day the camera is just as good as any other I have had good quality bright and well perfectly acceptable.
I have now came across a handful of apps that I cant find when I say handful I mean 2/3 literally that I would like but to be honest I can live without, Instagram , Sky + and the other escapes me right now.
the hardware on the phone is brilliant though, I think I will be moving to a Nokia very soon, the build quality is just amazing.

oh one last thing for now, the windows phone marketplace, it seems to get a lot of grief from people for only having a few apps ??? I think theres over 100000 now compared with Apple and Android in the millions....... well this maybe true but looking at the apps on Android and then my windows market place well its an education. the amount of pure and utter crap found on the android play store is crazy half really is malware or just an app that well basically dont work.
all the apps I have really needed and are useful are found on the WP marketplace, when browsing the market place every app is of use or is popular and wanted by users there are no crappy apps for want of a better word..
with that said more updates will follow.

you're lucky...i tweeted @nokia and they said they escalted it and will get back to me whether i got it or not. Hope i did..i have a great app idea (its done..just needs testing on a windows phone )
