White backgrounds in programs, etc - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

we all know windows mobile looks fancy on the 'desktop' but the second you go into settings/programs the white background just makes it look cheap, is there a way to play around with this ie make it black or what not?

I do remember seeing a thread in this forum about changing the background color to black. I do not remember where i saw, but you can always use the GooG search.

Change WM Background colour?

You can do so much to customize you HD and make it look great. But as soon as you drop bak into Windows Mobile - in the programs folder from the start menu for instance, you get the old, un-stylish white backround with the not so good looking windows icons.
It might look better with a darkish gray background. Is there anyway to change the system window background colour?
Cheers
I just installed these black dialer and black calculator and my boot screen goes darkgrey.

[REQ] Gmail.apk with black background

I find it quite annoying that the gmail app has white background with black text while most other stuff has black background with white text which is much more readable.
I tried fiddling with the gmail.apk to change the background but didn't get anywhere. So did anyone create such a changed apk or would know how to do that?
Maybe you can ask this guy to help you do it yourself
by the way looking at the kind of themes these guys are producing for their phones I am wondering why don't we have such on samsung

I hated white backgrounds too. So I just installed k9 email
I just cant stand K9... It doesnt feel comfortable at all...
i would also love black inverted versions of pretty much everything!
also wouldnt this help battery life too with how the S AMOLED screen utilizes black pixels?

[Q] Change Background Image (menus)?

Hi all. I have been searching a lot about changing the background color / image on the menus (I don't want it black, i want something different). And well, I don't understand how to do it. Well, this is my last alternative. I want a theme or something, but I just want to change the background color on the menus, nothing else. Maybe green, blue, an image, or something, whatever. I have seen the 5 pages of "Galaxy Ace S5830 Themes and Apps" and I couldn't find something like this (you know, they change everything, icons, bars, colors, and sometimes background images).
I found some threads asking almost the same, but no one answered, so I did it here.
I understand that maybe no one is going to answer hahaha well. Thanks, cya.

Widget Locker Theme with Text in Background

Hi all,
I'm trying to make some widget locker themes that have text in the background image. I was able to make a few with just the standard rounded corner rectangle outline that a lot of themes use and I was also able to get it to work with a black and red version of my text background. But for whatever reason, when I change the background up to be black and white, my text gets all jumbled. It gets stretched in the middle between two letters rather than the whole background stretching.
I have to be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. I've follow both of the tutorials and understand have about five or six different themes that work, but for whatever reason this one with text is kicking my butt. Anybody else ever run into this?
Thanks,
Dave

Well,
I've made some progress with this. I messed around with the background image and found that the single black pixel placed at the top of the image is where widget locker stretches the image to fit the screen. My temporary solution was to off set the pixel to the left side of my text. The only side effect is that now my text isn't centered as I wanted it. Instead is now on the right side of my screen. It looks ok with the lock screen I am running, but I don't understand why it works with one background (being center) and not the other.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

Question AMOLED Black theme?

Is there a way to get the settings menu, quick settings, notification panel pure black and not grey? Seems whichever wallpaper I set (even solid black) it's not adhering to it...
Might have to wait until substratum can be used if not!
The irony of their colour scheme was not lost on me. I think they did this for a bit of retro feel so it looks like an LCD panel.
Come on Google, I know your designers are probably just 12 years old, but surely there are still some older people there that remember the light bleed issues of LCD displays of old, and that OLED was sold on being able to produce real blacks.
I just want pure black
Oh well, root will soon be amongst us I'm sure
I'm trying to find a wallpaper that is as black as possible, so the system themes it accordingly. But also one that doesn't have a tint to everything... Any recommendations? I just want notification panel etc to be black if possible but also for buttons ect to be a plain colour without a warm'ish tint to them...especially text, like I want that to be white whereas seems the system is adding a tint?
