Hi all,
I'm trying to make some widget locker themes that have text in the background image. I was able to make a few with just the standard rounded corner rectangle outline that a lot of themes use and I was also able to get it to work with a black and red version of my text background. But for whatever reason, when I change the background up to be black and white, my text gets all jumbled. It gets stretched in the middle between two letters rather than the whole background stretching.
I have to be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. I've follow both of the tutorials and understand have about five or six different themes that work, but for whatever reason this one with text is kicking my butt. Anybody else ever run into this?
Thanks,
Dave

Well,
I've made some progress with this. I messed around with the background image and found that the single black pixel placed at the top of the image is where widget locker stretches the image to fit the screen. My temporary solution was to off set the pixel to the left side of my text. The only side effect is that now my text isn't centered as I wanted it. Instead is now on the right side of my screen. It looks ok with the lock screen I am running, but I don't understand why it works with one background (being center) and not the other.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

Are you talking about the "highlight" when you hold on an app?
As far as I know, that can be changed by the Themes.
Try a different theme and see if you like the change.
You might have to make up your own theme if there is no theme with a "no highlight" option.
Not 100% sure though.

You need to change focused_application_background.9.png (in Launcher.apk/res/drawable) to a clear graphic. From here it is an easy metamorph. You will want to search and read about .9.pngs before doing this though.
I believe you are talking about the text under the Icons, that has the dark oval background behind the white letters, right?
If so I am not sure if there is a way to change it yet, and have yet seen anyone do it.

I am fairly certain that can be changed using the colorchange.jar java app for cyanogen roms. I use it to give my theme white letters on a black background throughout. It seems to change the oval to black also, and thus can be changed. Here is the problem, it is tied into many other colors in the OS, and so it will not be possible to just change that color.
Hi guys,
Does anyone know if it's possible to some how change the text on the home screens?
For example, instead of the text with the ugly black round border thing around it, would it be possible to say have the text with a drop shadow instead?
Also a way to change the font too
Does nobody know how to do this?
Surly with Android being open source this should be possible?
Hello All,
Just wanted to know if you have this issue or not with your One X.
When in the Settings Menu (Or any other app with a pure white Background) at the bottom of the screen there is a very faint blue along the bottom all the way across. The weird thing is, when on the Sense homescreen, the blue dissapears (Tried different wallpapers etc to test) the only way I could explain the blue is the overscroll blue effect from stock ICS, like that, but very faint. I'm starting to think I'm the only person with this. Can anyone else confirm?
I removed all home screen pages on my S2 as you can see in the pic. The problem is, how do i get rid of the one white dot in the bottom of my home screen? It ruins my backgrounds and just irritates me.

Hi,
You can't get rid of that, as long Touch Wiz don't have an option do hide or change the white dots....
For that you'll need a launcher like Apex or Nova Launcher
And mate, you're posting in wrong section...

is there a different theme or launcher i could use, where everything is pretty much the same(the four bottom icons, etc.), but i can customize that dot outta there?
Apex launcher should be able to do it
New launcher.
Actually you can get rid of the page indicator, just edit the PNG file with GIMP. I just opened the files in GIMP and deleted the image and saved the transparent image.
There are four indicators in SecLauncher2.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi/
pageindicator.9.png
pageindicator_fastscroll_bar.9.png
pageindicator_fastscroll_handle.9.png
pageindicator_fastscroll_panel.9.png

That's the hard way...he need to add a transparent channel in gimp, then erase the color or he need to find a transparent icon and rename it ....
But, i wonder why touch wiz has so many lack of options....
So I recently noticed that black horizontal bars have been appearing when a dark image is displayed. I have a dark theme applied onto TW and when the keyboard is opened onto a white-ish background I see them. This also occurs when I'm viewing certain dark images. And also even the Yahoo shortcut icon in Samsung Internet app shows a feint purple bar beneath it. Is this most likely a defect in hardware? I bought this from Samsung Canada and I don't know how they deal with these kinds of things will they replace it.....

Just get it checked with your Samsung asap. I don't know for sure whether it is defected or software problem or what, or will replace or fix or whatever. But if you're curious, check with THEM.
