Hi guys,
in a few days I'm recieving the new HTC diamond US 3G version (directly from HTC, not a carrier). I already have the Europe 3g version.
Can I dump the radio from the us version and install it to the europe version to convert it's 3g band?
Me to,where did you buy your's?

This question has been asked again and again, and with one search on US 3G you would have been brought to the correct thread for this issue. There is a definitive answer. You can find it in that thread.
sorry for the inconvenience.
I tried to find something about this, but couldn't find anything.
Do you have any link?

If you had a half a brain, you would test your theory before posting it. Searching for "US 3G" using built-in forum search yields NOTHING.

I think it is weird that such radio was already out... I thought that the .08 radio that was around was a cooked radio.

Lads,
Just bought one of these off ebay not realising there were different versions of the Touch Pro 2
Am i screwed with this phone? Seems i can't flash it with a custom rom according to the stickies, so is there anything i can do with it at all?
I'm using it in Ireland (so can't do this sprint activation thing)
So at the moment i feel i can't use it at all.
Any advice?
HARD-SPL and then flash any rom you want?

From looking at the HardSPL thread it looks like whats out doesn't support the worldphone version, cause its GSM/CDMA, not just GSM
Pure balls is all i can say. Will pay more attention in future
Resell it!
You might be able to use it just a pda! Or an expensive paper weight...

If you're patient... there will be a HardSPL for it.
Not that patient. We'll see. If it doesn't sell on ebay i'll use it for a bit

What do you mean different versions? there is only one version per carrier. So if you have sprint as a provider then you have to purchase the sprint one. Only the gsm unlocker is out. the cdma unlocker should be out sometime next week hopefully.

Sprint version isn't SIM locked at all. Don't have to worry about that.
I'm far more interested in flashing the phone with a custom ROM

The CDMA HardSPL is presently not available, and the Sprint version is SIM unlocked but, is locked for GSM use in the US

we know the cdma hspl is currently unavailable, thats the reason this thread was created in the 1st place, but if you follow my link, you can see cmonex is almost done with it. You know cmonex, the one who has unlocked every other ppc.
Hi everyone, i am obviously a new user. I have been browsing these forums for the past 3 hours and looking up information online. I am new to this phone (literally like two days of knowing it even existed) and i want to flash a new rom to it.
My stepmother is an engineer for AT&T,(obviously that makes my carrier AT&T) so she gets these phones when they are test models. Needless to say, they are always very buggy and have old firmware, etc.
Well the Rhodium that i have is a model RHOD300... And it has an extremely buggy OS(?). It lags horribly and is very frustrating (one of the downsides to a free phone)
Now, i read that the unlocking program only supports RHOD400, and RHOD500. So what do i do?? I noticed someone else on this forum
"DaveTheTyntIIGuy" also has a RHOD300 model. and his signature says it is running a custom rom.
I am just worried i will brick my phone, and i am not sure what to do.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
You probably saw this thread and gone through it too quickly. It says it does not support RHOD400 and RHOD500.
Go back and have a read through again. All info is there. Good luck!
actually, i saw this thread
and since it said
"only RHOD400, RHOD500 modelids are accepted"
I am pretty sure i need that thread since i am on AT&T right? I thought AT&T was CDMA.
The link you posted said "CDMA-GSM worldphone version is not accepted"
And when i power on my phone, it says "AT&T Worldphone"

AT&T is a GSM carrier, thus making your phone a GSM phone.
AT&T and T-Mobile are GSM. Sprint, Verizon, and Telus are CDMA.
Answer to my main question: I am just stupid ^^ Thank you so much!

HAH! You're not stupid...you're just learning!
We've (at least I've) been there before. Worry not, young grasshoppa.
Is there a way to make a rooted and SIM-unlocked DInc2 usable on AT&T and T-Mo networks in the US? Any sort of flashable upgrade to any internal components, hacked radio or whatnot that would achieve that purpose?
Really?? Your question wasn't answered when you posted this in the development forum? You need to sim unlock your phone via verizon or xtc clip.

Ah, rude comment followed by subpar answer, apparently that's the norm on xda? What would the world be if we didn't continuously punish people for harmless mistakes? Grow up.

I will be as nice as I possibly can.
LEARN TO READ, will ya?
The phone is *already* SIM unlocked and rooted. However, Verizon blocks AT&T and T-Mobile SIMs even on SIM-unlocked phones. Hence the question.

Thanks for the support, snowman, but this was no mistake.
The question was phrased perfectly, and I am sure I am not the only one who would benefit from a solution.
In fact, the whole reason I posted it in the development forum initially is because, based on my research, there is no solution as of yet, and if it is possible at all, it will probably require further developers' involvement to find it.
If anyone here wants to prove me wrong, I would appreciate a concrete answer or a link to a solution.
I'm fairly certain I've read of the DINC 2 being used on T-Mobile successfully, not sure if I've read of AT&T though. Can't for the life of me remember where I read it though, probably here or Droid-Forums.net.

My understanding is, it is not possible out of the box:

My experience has been the same.
This is what I came up with. I hope it can help you!

Thanks, but I don't believe this thread answers the question. Or am I missing something?
Haven't tried it, but here's a link that should offer a solution:
androidforums.com/htc-droid-incredible-2/327419-sim-unlock-issue.html
The thread contains instructions for how to input an unlock code that should allow you to use other carriers' SIM card both in the US and abroad.
Good luck.
I;m in the same boat....I have unlocked my phone via xtc clip but still wont work att nor t mobile...what needs to be done for it to work.
What part of the memory is the gsm software lock stored, anyone know?

Correct me if im wrong, if I use the xtc clip (which i did), I do not need to call Verizon for a sim unlock code?

Have you done everything suggested there? (Changing to GSM, changed APN settings, etc)
If I'm not mistaken its a global phone. However the GSM frequency used abroad is different than in the states. Therefore I don't think it's possible.

It's a quad band phone, so the problem is not with frequencies.
The problem is with verizon specifically precluding AT&T and T-Mo SIMs from working even when DInc2 is SIM-unlocked. Not sure which part of firmware is responsible for it, but I'd imagine it's flashable, so, given attention from the right developer, fixable.
I would really prefer to hear from people that know of a solution or are able to produce one. Lots of guesses resulting from being misinformed or, worse yet, misreading the original question just distract everyone and make it less likely that the real solution will ultimately be found.

If you know someone that can write modem firmware then it's possible. but good luck with finding someone that can do that.
I can't remember where but its on xda somewhere. Apparently 3g won't work due to different bands. I really just can't remember.

I unlocked my Dinc2 through a code from VZ. I can be on AT&T or T-Mo's network for EDGE; 3G no so much.
hello everybody, i have a friend in chile with a problem, he does not speak nor writes English very well so on his behalf i am asking for some help.
he bough an unlocked international version of the phone, for some reason down in chile carriers carry all the latest but the m8, crazy right? anyhow, he made 100%sure the bands where the appropriate for his carrier, but the problem he has is that he does not get lte or 4g, get's everything else but 4g/lte. We have tried all the obvious steps, we made sure the phone was searching for 4g/lte, changed the apn, even went to the carrier and explained that he bought the phone, it has the correct bands etc, and he got told "well too bad is you didn't buy that through us". weird thing is, that he had a m7 that he also got in the same way, and it worked flawlessly. So here we are out of ideas on what it could be, and what we could do.
here's an image of his bootloader in case it can be useful ( cid is htc_621)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/86252213/Pictures/One m8 Gold/IMG_4260.JPG
anyway, we where thinking that maybe rooting, s-off and sub-sequentially installing a custom rom would help?
anyhow, if you guys need any other info, please let me know and ill be happy to provide it, and thank you in advance for any help!
Try changing the band with this command: *#*#4636#*#*
I JUST did with my M7. Using Entel!

Yes. I I have. It didn't have an answer though so I thought I would answer.
Can we use the Verizon Note 4 Variant on AT&T since according the specs, the developer edition is listed as GSM?
Don't need LTE, only need the phone for basic calling.
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SM-N910VMKEVZW
If you don't need lte you're probably fine with Verizon on att. However wait to hear what others have to say
Someone on the tmobile (i believe it was) forum said they were on the Verizon and it was connected to LTE. I'll look for the thread, and link it later when I have time
Thanks, please do keep me informed. Its $700 on Samsung's website and is bootloader unlocked. Probably even has a better resale value if you know what I mean, Cheers
