The O2 GUI

If i delete this software from the add/remove programs will it clear the O2 software off and just leave me with the windows interface?
Secondly is it wise and can I get the software back if need be? Will I still have the phone software if I delete the O2 stuff?
The best way to do it is to do a hard reset and install the corporate version , which doesnt install the silly O2 stuff.
To do that poke the reset hole with the stylus and press the Power button at the same time (WARNING you will loose all programs/settings)
Then when it is installing it will ask either personal use or corporate ... Choose "Corporate User" when asked for the password put "0506" as the password.
backup your phone with Activesync first incase you want to return to the way it was before.

Why do we brick our Universals?

Since I recently bricked my Universal for the second time it made me think why this could have happened. The symptons are known. Your machine hangs in the splash screen (not the Serial or USB boot screen), you can flash another rom, but this does not help, and MTTY Task 28 gives an error.
I think I know what happened in my case. Both times (and I do flash my ROM a lot) I did not completely press the two soft keys on the keyboard really well when resetting with the stylus. The system the proceeded with a normal soft reset, and knowing this is not right I immediately repeated the process (holding the two soft-keys, reset stylus, and typing 0 on query) while the soft reset was still in process. I think this bricks the device.
Opinions?

YES, that is definitely the wrong way to put your device on bootloader mode. You need to press 3 buttons all at the same time namely:
1st: Power Button
2nd: Back Light Button
3rd: Reset Pin Hole
Who gave you the idea to press the 2 soft keys on the keyboard?
He was talking about the Hard-Reset you have to do AFTER flashing.

I had never done a HARD RESET after reflashing. I followed the on screen instructions to just press 2 buttons namely (Soft Boot):
1st: Power Button
2nd: Reset Pin Hole
But NEVER a hard reset and I had not encountered any problems yet.
what the original poster really talking about is doing a hard reset WHILE a hard reset is starting. in which case you can take two views:
1) let the first one finish. that's the way it's designed and tested. starting another one is an exception nobody tested for.
2) a hard reset is a 'start from scratch' event. from ANYWHERE a hard reset should take you to a known good place. even from the middle of a hard reset.
from experience (designing complex hardware/frimware systems) either one SHOULD be right; but only one was in the designers mind at the time
take your choice (but pick that one)!

To set WordLogic as default SIP, change the "DefaultIm to
{4345EA53-B8A5-4E24-A14A-F7C34DD78077}
But now i only get a white screen, also hard reset not working only start up again with white screen
Any one knows solution
Thanks
Double check your hardreset procedure. It is unlikely a registry change will effect a hardreset. Many get confused with hardreset and softreset.
thanks did it wrong.
hard reset helped

4 color bands at boot

Hi,
I have a problem with my QTek 9090.
when i want to hard reset it, (power, record, camera and reset) it just displayed the 4 colored bands and stuck here.
how can i restore the normal booting sequence ?
thx.
this is normal, no problem. OS is kichen, no orginal. My Qtek work perfect WM6. Thanks Helmi!
so what should i do because it is block on this stupid 4 colored bands screen...
hard and soft reset do not help.
are you sure you have chosen No/Yes/Yes to clean the registy hive and format the storage at hard reset?
have you pressed the Mail Button to execute the instruction?
being stuck at the 4color screen is a common glitch in wm6 upgrading but nothing serious, that's because even though you flashed the ROM, your storage still has the files of your OLD Os (ex. WM2003).
you have to format the storage to have a fresh and working OS.
the problem is that i did not get any message on screen to which i can answer yes or no :-(
i effectively read some article in this forum about such step, but my Qtek 9090 did not propose me something like that !
:-(
i tried the steps you posted in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1603200&postcount=8
but the menu is never displayed :-(
oh... ok.
try pressing Camera + Record... before you stick the Soft Reset.
hold them until you see the menu.
if that doesnt work. then maybe one of the required button is failing.
good luck!
unfortunatelly, it does not work :-(
this is making me crazy...
try searching for MMTY hard reset. that's probably the thing that you need.
i did not find anything about MMTY and hard reset...
:-(
any additional help would be very appreciated
You would find you get a better response if you explain what rom it was that you were installing when this happened, was the rom for your device and did it complete fully?
scousemartin is right... we need details.
about MTTY ok...
here's a link about MTTY on Hermes Bootloader... some of its commands are general and can be used on BA with care.
look for something specific to your problem
i.e. Task 28 to format your DOC.
