[Q] Installing Hulu in other ROMs

I'm trying to nail down the exact procedure for installing Hulu into Roms other than SkyRaider. Specifically I am currently using HeyItsLouFroyo which after trying all the ROMs I could find worked the best.
So far I have downloaded the Hulupack.zip from the OP of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764787&highlight=hulu
and the Hulu.apk.zip file from an update to the same thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7903587&highlight=hulu#post7903587
I tried installing the "install_huluflash_player.apk" but it gave me an error during the install something to the effect of "Application was not installed". From there I installed the "Hulu.apk" which installed successfully. Next I tried "flash_fixed_final.apk" which gave me the same error as the original flash install. Just for grins I launched the Hulu app and to my surprise it seemed to be working until I got a message that said "Unfortunately Hulu is not supported on your platform" I have not installed the updated hulu.apk that I found later in the thread yet. I wanted to first start a thread and see if you guys can save me some time and frustration by telling me what the proper process is for getting this working.

It looks like I may have posted this in the wrong spot. Can someone please move this to the correct spot or tell me how I can move it and where to?

I did not. I just removed the flash app via Titanium and tried to install the flash_fixed_final.apk but received the same error as before.
Now I have no flash at all and still can't install flash. HMMM, now what?

Wait, alright I rebooted and after the reboot I was able to install the new version of flash. I opened hulu and it seems to be working now except it has this issue where the voices are super slow. I remember reading something about this in another forum but I think it was fixed by an update to the ROM. Anyone know how to fix the demon voices?

I have a 100% working Hulu now.
The fix for the demon audio was found in another forum. Here is what I did.
1. Opened Rom Manager
2. Selected "Download ROM"
3. Selected "Ihtfp69"
4. Selected "Goodies for 2.2+"
5. Clicked on the "Download" button
6. Checked the checkbox next to "Revert Audio Fix" and clicked OK.

[Q] Google Play Store App

hi,
this is my first post,
i've just installed 9.1.0-CRYPTOMILK-ALPHA9-marvel ,on my HTC Wildfire S A510e, and trying to get along...
but, unfortunately, i can't manage to run Google Play Store application.
first, i've tried through browser, after click on INSTALL button, i get message your download will start shortly....or something like this,,,,and actually NOTHING happens....
then, i've search for instalation of GooglePlayStore app, and came across to something like this : com.android.vending-****.apk,
*** various versions, from -1-DL to -4.1.6
i have installed via usb connection to my pc(windows xp sp3), and then command prompt, like :
adb install com.android.vending-***.apk, every single time went ok, got message Success. before that, on the same way i've installed Astro File Manager...runs perfectly.
then ,on my phone, when i start Google Play Store application, every time application begins to load and then suddenly crashes,
without anykind of message !
what i'm doing wrong ?
is there some incompatibility between my phone, android version,google play store application version ?
please help !

I have a similar issue. I flashed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294739 and the gapps application dont work when I click on the play store option in the menu in the app drawer.

U'll need "goo manager" app for this and ur problem will get solved.

I don't understand why I need this? Should I refresh my device?
The rom-developer writes in the first post: "Fourth Build
-Recreated GAPPS - 17MB - Only PlayStore and ContactSync" so there should be the playstore within, shouldn't it?
Can you plz explain how this app can help me?

Generally what happens there are 2 many gapps available around there. With this app its easier to find the one for ur Rom, Since a wrong one may give you Force Close for all ur apps.

I installed the app and it would have installed gapps, but only the regular "bloated" version. So I searched for a compatible version and tried a few times. A compatible Version for the rom [ROM][4.2.2]EnviroROM[V4][Pre-Final] so far is Superslim Gapps for JB 4.2.2.

[Help] HTC Desire - JB 4.3 - Gapps doesnt work

Short problem. I installed a new JB 4.3 version on my HTC Desire.

The ROM works fine, everything is smooth besides the problem with GAPPS. Installtion is succesful, but after after loading the ROM, no google Apps to see. I used the version mentioned in the thread, I tried the official PA Gapps, but nothing happens.
I cant define a google account for my device, not the usual stuff about "sync data", nothing. I have the google search bar... thats all. With the small official gapps version.
I got only one warning during the installation: No file_contexts
any idea?

Using a Root file explorer, go to "system/app". Are the Gapps there? Do they have the right permissions?

Rom comes without a file manager and without gapps, no makret. So no.
But I guess the ROM and my Phone have a problem in this combination. I tried severall 4.3 gapps versions and always the same.
Mad now ;(
Other roms work perfect, with gapps.

Hi Knallkopp, can you please tell me if you tried to install the full gapps or the slimmed version (if you don't know: is the size of the zip 40 or 170mb).
I assume you used the full version right now. If so, please make sure your device is S-OFF and your sd-ext is at least 256 mb (I'd definitely suggest > 512mb).
Otherwise, you can check the /sd-ext/gapps/ folder (if it's empty: good, otherwise: bad ). I'd suggest using AROMA FM. Put the zip on /sdcard and open in recovery.

well, I'll take this thread to expose my problem that also envolves Paranoidandroid, but the version 3.68.
I installed this like the previous ROMs (i've made this process dozens of times), but after i digit my pin code, shws to me the message error "Unfortunately, the launcher has been stopped" and then i cant go to mainscreen.
ANyone had this problem?

Try reflashing the rom without wiping.

Check if S-OFF, otherwise post log or give me information about what you did (not) do.

facebook instalation error 504

hello,
currently i did my yureka factory reset. now i tried to download applications from play store.there is not any issue while downloading applications (i.e whatsapp,twitter).except facebook. whenever i tried to download, it shows me error 504. i tried all the suggetion given by play store regarding this error but it can not slove my probelm.
is there anyone else facing the same problem?

yes when i tried updating the fb it downloads and then takes ot of ime for installing, and finally installation fails giving error. I tink the updated version has some problem.
what can be done is download in some other device and use this apk to install fb app in your yureka.

Another way is to uninstall Facebook app first, and then install it again, so that you do not need to do the update.

Yes! Recently, I'm also noticing problem is updating facebook. I try it twice/thrice and then it get installed.
Why such issue is arising? How we can resolve?

I didn't see any issue though. You may report it to Facebook?

After factory restore, its un able to install Facebook. After downloading it take lot of time to install n den it fails.... What's da solution 4 it?

I have tried to install smartIPTV from several working sources and every time it says ‘app not installed’
Even when I go to search and type in smartIPTV it says no apps found...
What am doing wrong?

Is it a modified app? eg cracked adfree etc - The chances are the dex part of the apk is not compatible with the firetv and so it won't install and obviously no help will be given here for such apps
Also it might not install if you have previous version installed (if the signature is different)
