hi there.. can anyone help me there ? i just bought artemis and installed wm6 original rom on it... but i got a problem with the contact name in sms,, whenever some one sends me a msg it doesnt show his/her name.. it shows the number only , like if the contact is not there on my device ! i dont know about the last rom if it was working fine because i didnt use it.. if some one calls it works fine..if i send sms the name appears in sent msgs ! just with the sms inbox ! please help i'll lose my mind ( and maybe my device !) if i didnt find a solution !
i tried to hard reset my device couple of times ! no use ! the problem persists !
i discovered something, if the contact that is sending me is saved with the the area code (+###real number) it will show him ! does that mean i have to re write my whole contact list ? or any one can help ?
above that if i added the area number the caller id wont appear !

it had to do with registries,
in the hkcu --> controlpanel --> phone
there's an entry called "callIDMatch" and was set to numer 8, while my country phone numbers consists of 7 digits, so i changed it to 7 and it worked greatly .. "schaps advance config" can do it too..
let me know if i wasnt clear or there's something wrong..

i have updated my htc touch rom to version 2.22...and i wish i can undo this step!
Q:can i rollback my firmware to version 1.11.... cause i missed some good features not available in this new upgrade.the hard reset didn't work i already tried it.
the black bar that spells words while typing is completely annoying...i'm not being able to disable it forever and i'm hating the device because of it. Plz help!
another missing feature in this upgrade, while i used to start typing the sms recipient name in the To: field in SMS\MMS , an automatic list of matching contacts used to appear and i select the desired name directly... I lost this feature too.
Your help is much appreciated. Plz keep me posted before i destroy my htc

Hello guy`s i have litle problem with my Bluetooth so i had 2 Blackstones and i flash them befor a while with ROOM Davideuck V-5 WWE room version and yesterday i found this problem that i can`t recive a files via Bluetooth!
For example i try to send t myself one ringtone from few diferent phone brand like Nokia SE and Samsung always give me error that the conecction is failed... and all this seems very strange because befor the flash the phone when he was with the stock room i never had a problem like this!
So i try to send a file from another HTC Crouse to my Blackstone and again give me error and was writen something like "the other PDA dont support OBEX etc" so this mean my device Blackstone don`t support this OBEX and i don`t know what mean this OBEX exactly?
So im able to sending files without a problem by Bluetooth but i can`t recive anything.. do u have some idea what mean this OBEX and why i had problem like this?

did u check on the "Beam" setting ? on V-4 it was off by default

I have the same problem and it didn't help to check the beam setting.
Do you mean Settings => Connections = > Beam?
If so, it is checked. I already HR'd it and it still doesn't work. I can only send via Resco Explorer. Could not beam out without Resco. Do not receive any beam in (even after being visible and checking the Beam setting)..
Anyone can think of a reason?
I'm using stock ROM and Radio..

Bluetooth trouble
Hi there, yes i do have same problem recieving any files through my bluetooth for my HD, i had try everythings to solve the problem and by the end i had contacting HTC offical technical service department but still they couldn't help their advice was to do hardware reset, but i refuse to do so because i don't want to loose everything i had downloaded. Anyone out there has any suggestion around not having to do hardware reset. The only messages come up when i try to tranfer file by bluetooth to another hanset are Quote: "Service File Tranfer is not found on Device" Plz help
i have a similar issue with not being able to recieve files but being able to send no probs,i have 2 other phones in my house a lg kc550 and a samsung j600 and when i search for bluetooth devices they dont even find my hd but when my brother came round with an older htc phone it found mine but couldnt send to me.beam is on and bluetooth is set to visible,using stock rom and radio any help would be appreciated thanks

There it tells me my name as device id "jagdesh" but when i try to enter this into any app which needs my device id to unlock its says invalid
On my windows media center it says "Jagdesh's HTC Touch Pro 2"
So how can i find my device id ...help please!!
To find the device ID just hit: Start-->Settings-->About-->Device ID.
However, that probably doesn't matter, because it sounds like the apps probably need the "Owner Name", not the Device ID. You can find that by going: Start-->Settings-->Personal-->Owner Information.
Let me try registering the app with my owner info...

Try search for enableownerinfo, think its a cab for your problem. I had the same problem but cant remember if it was that cab who solved the issue, but you can try...
settings --- all settings --- Today --- Items --- uncheck htc Sense --- check owner info --- ok --- go to homepage --- click tap here to set owner info ---

Googled it and installed it now..
But i am not sure if this is what i want
See i am trying to install some apps and when i try to register the it asks me my device id which i dont know how to get that!!
Anyways i will try this method and let you know if this works

But like i said i do think that Device Id is the same has owner's name .. maybe its some number or something
I read it somewhere that a device id is something which never changes its bunch of numbers and alphabets
Its not the same has IMEI or S/N number ..
Anyways will let you guys know of the results soon

Here's the answer, credit to HTC support the netherlands: look under the battery. There it is. ID starts starts with "HT"

Hi Jagdish,
I faced the same problem you did. I found owner information icon when i bought the phone. Later when I hard reset i dont find it.
you might have solved the problem. for others here is a way to go to owner information. This is the way I did.
Installed TouchShell. On the TouchShell desktop screen tap and hold and goto settings > About tab > Registration > beside the owner id, click Edit tab. You are there.

My phone chashed also. This code doesn't work on S advance/Ace2/SII mini. For PDA/Phone/CSC Codes *#*#1234#*#* and for IMEI *#06#.
Normally whatsapp is working fine - after my reset whatsapp is asking send to whom - I will say the name - the name will be understood and repeated but than "to whom"
When I`m saying call Peter the name wil be recognized and executed ...
Any idea what I can do ?
