SmartToolkit and Sliding theme Idea - HTC Excalibur

Hey anyone who can help, I am looking for a way to call the actuall Task Menu.
The function "-TaskMenu" calls the entire Task Bar.
What I'd like to do is call the Menu without calling the entire Startbar kind of like when you enable "Homescreen - SmartToolkit Start Menu" and the you get the original start bar but when you press Start you get the SmartToolkits Start Menu instead.
I hope I'm clear enough.
So what is the function I can use to Call the Task Menu's, Menu Only?
I need this info to fix my Idea for this:
------------------------------------------------------------
A cool idea for those on wm6.1 Slideing panels. This will change the right soft key on the clock panel to be the Task menu for smarttoolkit. this will not overwrite all the right soft keys only the clock one.
Go to your registry editor and navigate to
HKLM -> Software -> Microsoft -> Chome -> CClock
Hit "Values" and change the SK2TXT to
Task
Then go to SK2URL and change that to
"\Program Files\SmartToolkit\SmartToolkit.exe" -TaskMenu
// It's important to include the quotes, put in the bold stuff only.
Reboot and changes will take effect
// note: As it is, It will only bring up the Task bar not the Task Menu once I figure it out I'll edit it....again.
Idea Developed after reading:

My original post is a comment on this post.
I know I can't be the only one who'd like to do this.
Please Help I'd appreciate this alot.

How to modify softkeys?

How can I modify softkeys of the TouchFlo?
For modify soft keys I used SecondToday application.
you can also use advanced config program. hit menu, more settings, key mapping
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila
Leftkey
HomeLSKText = Contacts
HomeLSKPath = \windows\addrbook.lnk (.LNK)
rightkey
HomeRSKText = Contacts
HomeRSKPath = \windows\addrbook.lnk (.LNK)
Hi,
Is there a way to mod the soft keys on the email messaging app...the left softkey is set to delete by default and i keeps pressing it and deleting email lol.
I had a look at the advanced config app but wasn't sure which app is the right one to try and play with as sms and email have different soft keys set.
Cheers
Andrew
Thanks for the Advanced Config Trick. I had it installed but didnt even think to use it.
Do you know if there is anyway to config the left softkey to launch the Programs section of the TF3D interface? My fingers are quite small and tough to reach the start button in the top left of the screen!
Many thanks
Andy

Guess you're looking for this:
Attached in the KEYS.zip file two files:
OKEY.EXE
SKEY.EXE
You're looking for the second one (start-key).
Copy it to your phone and map it
Don't know who created it (using this file already "3 phone-lives")

A tool to remove icons from 6.5 start menu?

I use reStart to change icons on the 6.5 start menu but does anyone have a program that will delete/add shortcuts? Editing the registry is a bit of a pain.
I also find reStart to be very hit or miss with it's functionality. In fact it's what's messed my start menu up adding shortcuts in places I don't want that I can no longer move. I'm going to try hComber instead for icon changing.
Go to /Windows/StartMenu/Program (and play) ;-)
lol How easy.
Thanks a lot.

Regular start menu (not enlarged) recent items

hi to all,
here is a the tweak to remove the large start menu and set the default wm6.1 drop start...

i know of quickmenu and programs like that but i really just do like the default start menu...

Remapping TF3D New Start Menu

I am running wizbar v3 which changes my Start Menu which I like, but I'd like to be able to keep a way to access the default Start Menu that includes app shortcuts (without restoring the Programs tab on the touchFlo interface). What I want to do is create a soft key on the homescreen labeled "Programs" that points to the TF3D start menu so I can have it available while running wisbar. Anyone know how this can be done?
I think I understand what you are trying to do but Wisbar is a today screen plugin that replaces TouchFLO 3D. Without TouchFLO 3D running, you will not be able to access it's program menu interface. I think Wisbar has an icon based start menu, could you use that instead?
thanks for the reply. I'm not sure about that though, my touchFlo is definitely running while I run wisbar..I can go through the tans and all the touchFlo features are fully functioning as wisbar is running. Wisbar's start menu is like a list view instead of the larger icons that touchFlo displays for its design of the Start menu.
Ok, sorry for the misunderstanding. There are several different versions of Wisbar. I thought you were talking about Wisbar Advance Desktop which will replace the TouchFLO 3D. Wisbar Advance is just a start menu replacement and I think that is the one you are using. I don't know if there is a setting to allow you to see the original icon based start menu in Wisbar. You may have to edit the registry to change the soft key or modify one of the xml files for TouchFLO 3D. I have used a different program called Quick Menu that replaces the start menu with one like in Wisbar. It has an option that you can set that will open the original start menu with a long press on the start button. You may want to try Quick Menu, it is a free application and does what you want.

Not real sure what wisbar does, but this cab will put the manila start menu as just another tab on your slider and gives the original start menu back. If wisbar is just another start menu replacement, then that would still work. credit cookiemonster

Right I'm using the Wisbar Advance 3 so my Desktop is the default design. I've used QuickMenu before it's pretty neat, didn't know it had that function with it. In general though I think it would be great to have a way to change each of the softkeys for this new TouchFlo since they change depending on which tab is selected. Hopefully someone is working on this...

Link to the Control Panel

Hello guys,
After a long search on the web I can't find the answer to "How to create a control panel shortcut on Windows Mobile".
Out of the box, our Rhodium are packaged with a "Settings" shortcut in the start menu which links to the Settings tab of Manilla. I find this annoying, if i want to go to the manilla settings, i use manilla not the start menu.
So I want a direct link to Windows' control panel. I've seen many ways to link to a specific applet, but not the whole control panel.
Anyone can help ?
PS : Also I'm looking for the HTCSettings.exe file stored in every Rhodium (WM6.5 version)... I've accidentally deleted it :/
Thanks !
I am not sure I understand the question, but I think what you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.. If that is correct, the solution is simple. Click Start>Settings>ToDay>Items>TouchFLO 3D>OK>X and you should have it. What you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.
Hope that helps.
what he is saying is that he wants to got to the control panel or "settings" from the start menu, when you hit start and then settings it takes you to manilla settings
What annoys me is that the Bluetooth and Today screen prefs are ONLY available through the Windows CPL, things like QuickMenu don't see them..
You got is cs400, that's what I'm looking for.
Someone can send me the original HTC Settings.exe (Located in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs) ?
Okay guys, I figured out how to solve this problem by hanging around in the registry !
How to change the "Settings" icon in the Start Menu to make it open WM's Control Panel rather than Manilla's settings panel ?
- First go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and remove (or move) the file HTC Settings.exe
- Then go to the registry \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo and change the value HideSettings from 1 to 0
- Reboot your device, it's done !
I am trying to change the 'Settings' button in the Start Menu to open the WM Control Panel instead of the Manila settings, however, the \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo key does not exist in my registry. Is there another way to link to the Control Panel? Thanks!
WM control panel shortcut
I would appreciate anyone telling me how to make a shortcut that links to the WM Control Panel.
Thanks!

Thank-you a million times! Just installed something that crashed my HTC Sense, and couldn't for the life of me work out how to get to Remove Programs so I could un-install it! I now have my phone back, without having to go down the hard-reset route which I'd feared was my only option.
you could do as htc intended and clicked "all settings" on the settings tab for those manila doesnt cover.
Which would have worked brilliantly....had I been able to get to the settings tab in the first place.
With Sense freezing, I had to run the 'change my background' option from 'Getting Started' to get into the Today options and disable Sense. Then use the tips in this thread to get the Settings folder back on my Start Menu. Normally I would have used the All Settings option, but couldn't in this case, and it's funny how much you don't realise is missing from a start menu....until you need it!
