Before when I had the MicroSD (2GB) on my Hermes I was using it to upgrade any O.S/Radio ROM directly without the P.C, but now after changing it to the (8GB) one (same brand -Sandisk-) I'm unable to do the same procedure, although nothing has been changed except the MicroSD capacity (8GB insted of 2GB)!!
Is there anyway to fix that?
the official Max. SD ccard for Hermes is 1 GB, and the experts on this website said the 2 GB card can be accepted also on Hermes...
I hope I'm wrong

The (8GB) I'm having is working fine and very well on the Hermes for the Programs, Camera, Games, etc..., but the only thing which is not working is the upgrade procedure only !!??
so, why dont you use the 2gb to upgrade with? I've got 3 sd cards 256/512 and my 2gb. use the smaller cards to flash with and the larger as my "working" memory. It maybe the os has sdhc support but not sure if the hermes does itself considering you are pretty much reformatting memory and re-installing an os. Might be that there is a certain size you can't go ove rwhen re-flashing. Just a though.... Cheers..

is it fat32 formatted? because that's what u have to use for the formatting method that may be your problem
it is because the SDHC is not compatible from bootloader as it does not use the necessary drivers from the OS.

Yep, I've already done that, but it seems the problem is from the Bootloader as (miffymiffy) said. But in this case how can we solve it? Is it by upgrading the Bootloader, or what?

as far as i know you cant solve this problem SDHC is only supported in ROM
maybe one day someone will add it to Bootloader but for now just use the 2gb card..
Will Fat format also work? or will only Fat32 work for bootloader?
thanks in advance.

First off, please don't cross post. You posted the same question in two different threads.
Second, your question is answered in the wiki. I know this for a fact as I added the link to it from the main Hermes page (and just updated it not long ago).
Go read it and if you have a question about the procedure, then ask.
the reason it won't flash is that SDHC isn't compatible with the hermes without installing windows mobile 6 (early versions didnt work) or 6.1, and bootloader mode (used to flash from sd card) is out of the windows 6/6.1 operating system (which is used to read the card) so this is why the card cannot be read,
Similarly windows mobile 5 doesnt ready cards over 2gb as they are SDHC
hope this helps and you understand my explanation
Hi there.
I'm having a very strange problem and could not solve it so far.
I have a T-mobile MDA III. When I wanted to install a new 4GB micro SDHC, I downloaded the patch, ran it on my MDA, rebooted, inserted the memory and it all worked perfectly.
Then I got an HTC P3300 (for spare) and wanted to do the same. Installed the patch, rebooted, inserted the memory... but the phone does not recognise it.
I than ran the "go back", rebooted, inserted the old 2GB memory but now the phone no longer recognises it.
So, the MDA works ok with 4GB memory.
P3300 does not recognise 4GB memory and after "going back" does not recognise 2GB memory.
Without memory the P3300 is pretty much useless.
Can anyone please shed some light on this, please....
Thanks.

This is precisely where I got the .cab's.
And in my MDA everything works fine.
On the P3300 the 4GB memory is not recognised.
And after installing 'back2original', no memory at all is reconised, not even the 2 GB microSD (not SDHC) that I used before.
One more detail:
on MDA I have WM6
on P3300 I have WM5
Is there something specific to WM5 to teawk about?
Thanks.

Yeah, I fear that's the only solution.
(btw, why old 2Gb sd cannot be accessed? what happened?)
I've been looking for the official WM6 rom from HTC but it no longer is on the site. Where can I find it?

Have you tried reading the card on the PC? See how it's partitioned and what kind of partition it is. Usually, you should use FAT.
I had this issue before (on my Polaris) and a format helped.

The microSDHC was (is) formated FAT32 with only one partition. On the PC it worked fine.
Anyway, I flashed a ROM (could not find HTC original WM6 though...), applied the patch and now the 4Gb micro SDHC is working.
Still, I could not explain why, in the first try, the old 2Gb microSD stopped working.
I recon it's working now?

I have scandisk class 10 SD card 64 GB.
its formatted using the note 8 device (exFAT).
Whenever I try to download a file or copy a file in note 8 to the SD. It fails and reboots my device. knowing that reading from the SD is perfect. I can play music and movies from SD with no issues.
the only way I can transfer files to the SD if I connect the SD to the PC directly.
I am not sure if this is an issue with Note 8 or SD. please help!
Mine does the same thing. Ive tried formatting in exfat and fat32, didnt help. It writes fine to an old 16gb class 4 card ive got but not the 64gb. Sucks but at least it reads fine

I am not using any custom Roms. And i formatted my sandisk ultra 64gb more than three times but the same issue keeps happening. I also tried to find other apps to transfer movies and music files from Iinternal memory to sd but that didn't help. I can't even download directly to my sd. It reboots my note 8 if I try to download or transfer files to my sd.
Any suggestions?

I'm afraid nothing beyond painfully obvious ones - trying with another similar card, trying the card on any other device supporting exfat (if ok, this would provide definitive proof that card is ok), trying on freshly installed latest ROM, trying with the same card formatted in fat32.

It seems like this is the last resort. I will reformat my note 8 and try again. I also forgot to mention, that few weeks ago I was able to transfer one 800 mb file but this stopped happening. So it seems like there is not enough memory to transfer although I tried clearing the memory.
I will let you know if this reformatting the note 8 will fix the problem.

When formatting in Windows, it will ask you the cluster size. But now that I think of it, if the phone won't even try to format the card, it likely isn't detecting that there's something in the slot at all. If you bought it from a carrier, I'd bring it in and have them look at it with another card and give you a new phone if it's the slot.
Have you tried formatting it inside the phone?

Hi,
i have one question,
so i have one Sandisk Extreme 32GB, but my 10 after nougat is getting really hot when i use it with or when is in charge, also the battery is so bad that i want to try a Hard Reset.
My question is can the internal storage SD Card reconize the 10 even after a Hard Reset?
Thanks
Sandisk Extreme UHS-1? It'll recognize only UHS-3, i think... (i have one of 64GB UHS-3 and it works well)
Another tip is format your sdcard to EXFAT.

Well, I think the other guys here didn't read your post thoroughly.
You said you are using the sd card as internal/adopted storage. This means your data are lost now.
Adopted storage can not be used anymore if you change your phone or do a factory reset. You have to format the SD card before you can use it again.
And I don't understand why you didn't save all your data on your PC before doing something like this...
