Hi,
I just got my new Tomtom Go 730
I tried to connect it to my P3300 for freespeech. The Tomtom found it and after selecting it the screen said I have to enter 0000 on my HTC. On my HTC a message came to connect and at that moment the HTC turned off.
I tried it again but it will not show the message again to enter the key on my HTC and after a while Tomtom stops trying.
I get the feeling that the HTC messed up and that something hinders the pairing. It is not the Tomtom as I can connect to my other phone just fine.
Also I have noticed when the Tomtom lists all BT devices in range, which are my Nokia Phone, my HTC P3300 and my Laptop, the Tomtom shows a little cellphone icon next to the Nokia (as it should) but shows a little computer icon next to both my HTC and my Laptop. So maybe it is also possible that Tomtom recognizes the HTC not as a phone profile but as a computer profile.
How can I "reset" the bluetooth of my HTC to accept incoming connections again. I tried softreset and took out the battery. I don't want to do a hardreset because I just reinstalled my phone a few days ago. Or if it is the wrong profile problem, how can I tell either the Tomtom or the HTC to use the phone profile?
Any ideas? Any help is very much appreaciated! Thanks!

I have an SPV M2000 and i have just purchased a wired gps tomtom5. After disabling the IR beam my gps still doesn't connect. i have hard reset the unit to make sure i have no other drivers interfering but it still doesn't connect.
all the help lines tell me to disable ir beam but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone know anything more about this issue?
Hey Kitrider, I apologise in advance if I'm insulting your intelligence but have you selected it in the preferences? I don't have a Tom Tom reciever but I still select it and it works with Navigator 5.
In Tom Tom go to preferences, select GPS status, if you have no signal (assuming its connected!) then select configure and select each of the others in turn to see if you get signal. Bear in mind, sometimes it takes 15 seconds or so for it to show.
TT5 andd GPS..
Regardless as to what GPS device you have (wired/BT), if you go to the GPS status screen (from where you can configure the GPS) there is a blue and yellow circular icon in the top right hand side of the screen (below the time), if this is "turning" then you have selected the correct COM port and data is being received - GPS signal or not...
What COM port have you chosen (try saying is is a TT Wired GPS as that defaults to COM1) - or did you say it is a TOMTOM model?
If it is and you can't getthat to work , try selecting other wired...
Yep i am selecting it in the TT5 preferences i've tried all of them and left it for over 30 secs on each one. The blue and yellow disc never spins though. I get a message which looks like a pocket pc windows alert box (identical to when it connects to activesync) that says it is trying to connect. this flashes up a few times then it comes to a bigger windows message box that says that the device cannot connect to the computer. the port may be busy or unavailable. Restart device and try again.
After restarting (hard or soft) there is no difference.
The gps is not a tomtom version but is one that apparently works according to PDAMODS.com, whom i bought it off. They reckon that there is something wrong with the m2000 and told me to get orange to replace. But orange are being very slow and not forthcoming with this request. basically as i have no proof that there is something wrong.
Any ideas please???????
i'm flumuxed!!
just to add i#m selecting other wired gps, baud rate 4800, serial cable on com 1.
but have tried all the options
Hi all,
i am runing my trinity with WM6 and AX3l's rom. my issue is that i cant connect to my car stereo which is a pioneer DEH-P55. My trinity see's the stereo and gives the option for hands free but the stereo cant detect the trinity. my device is visible to others but the stereo wont pick it up. Any suggestions for a fix on this would be appreciated.
thanks

maybe you have to push a button on your radio to activate first time pairing, that was the solution for my bluetooth headset.
(pairing from both sides)
just a suggestion, maybe it helps.
Try the Jetware bluetooth extension it has a 30 day trial and worked for my Alpine headunit its at http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
Thanks for the replies, but still no luck. I can pair other phones to the stereo but not this. Are there any settings that i may need to activate on the device that i am missing? its abit infuriating as i need to get this up and running as soon as.

activated "receive all incoming beams" ? its in settings/connections/beam
its already activated stormyb but thanks again for helping.
I always had problems using bt and irda...
I never succeed send/receive any file using my pc (my pc irda always worked fine with others devices). Beam enabled on commManager and on settings "receive all incoming beams".
When I try to connect (pair) using (htc) BT I get this error: the connection failed or the passcode is incorrect...
---
One time I tried to send a file to a nokia phone and I needed 30 min to succeed: restart phone, restart BT, restart beam, restart phone, restart nokia, restart BT, restart, restart, ....
Now I'm using the radio 1.46.00.11, rom eLiAs2.11wwe (before I was radio 1.38 and udk rom) and when I pair from htc, on pc I don't receive the pin request. If I pair from pc, I see the request for pin no htc but when I type it: "the connection failed or the passcode is incorrect".
Only one time I was succeed pair (and saved on device list), I typed 3 times the pin code, but after I can't transfer files...
From pc, I see the htc on the device list, if I try the ftp service, htc ask me: "xxx wants to connect with your device using bluetooth. Do you want to add XXX to your device list?" I answer yes but when I insert the pin, the pc give to me this error: "error establishing the connection"
If i try the voice gateway, after type the pin on htc I get this error on pc:
"the remote device closed the connection"
Using this last rom, when I try beam a file, I can't see my pc irda (using the udk rom I can to see but without success), I only see my pc BT but always "failed" the connection.
Nobody has the same problem?!
What bluetooth comms are you using, windows or Widcomm's?
I installed widcomm onto my laptop as I was suffering the same problems as you mention and I couild not get a bluetooth serial port setup either, once installed and restarted the pc then I just powered up both BT's and set the phone to visable and the laptop found it straight away with all the services and could setup the serial port.
I seem to recall there are numerous problems with most BT's when using the default windows drivers etc..
HTH's
hi, I'm using widcomm...
I didn't test again a bt headphone, but I have problems trying to connect to a nokia phone for example (n95, n73).
The irda never works... I tried too with a nokia phone and a remote control software for wm6... nothing...
All ok using headset BT...
I installed blueSoleil BT driver and now it is ok.
same ppc, same rom, same problem with my bt bury in the car and with other ppl's triyng to bt connect to my ppc. i can "see" them they can "see" me but there is no transmission TO me. I can send.
i am using the bt phone (bury) but onlt when I initiate the connection. i think it's a rom bug.
Hi there,
i've just installed the Nokia 616 into my car. It's working fine with automatically connect via bluetooth and SAP if the phone is in reach.
BUT if the connection is closed the MDA doesn't reactivate his own telephon.
It's also impossible to reactivate phone with comm manager or something.
At this point the only solution is to softreset the MDA but this issn very satisfying.
There is another question about this combination:
Is it possible to synchronize the MDA-based address-book? The Nokia always copys the SIM-adrb only.
I've already tried jetway but this doenst also work. Maybe someone has any tricks ;-)
Thanks so far...
I currently have a Diamond and TP2 with stock ROM's.
Diamond worked perfect with carkit untill i performed major ROM upgrade from htc.com. now it will connect and not reconnect on either device or carkit restart.
My TP2 behaves EXACTLY the same - connects and drops after either restarting. when connected it works fine - voice/dialing etc etc.
My car kit is a JVC KS-BTA200 connected to my KW-AVX810 head unit.
i've read all comments on google/xda's etc - well almost all! to no avail.
the devices are all set to visible obviously and all paired. ive read that a registry edit possibly fixes the issue but my TP2 & Diamond dont have the required reg strings. (that i can find!!)
i have the remote registry tool installed on my Desktop - so im ready to make changes!
please, if anyone can help i will very grateful!!

Hi, I am using my Touch Pro 2 with the same HU and Bluetooth adaptor as you but no such problem so far.
It used to have this problem then I try to connect using Window CE as the phone setup and choose another Connection Key instead of default 0000 to pair the phone with the HU.
ok, well i just tried connecting via searching for the device from the HU. it finds my device - i tap enter (to connect on HU) then it just jumps to a blue flashing 'connecting' then goes to a yellow 'error' straight away. if i select 'open' on the HU then it connects (connecting with a different ID - a number '6') but only untill i restart the HU.
also as a test i just tried an Xperia (just had one laying around LOL) and it does the exact same as mine!! ARRRRGHHH!
so im glad to say i believe it is not an HTC issue!
ok so i have an update - the problem is my HU will not pair correctly and it will not store a pairing. great.
another quick one - have found others are having trouble with their HU/adapters. thanks anyway everyone!
TP2 Bluetooth and voice dialing working fine ???
Have you tried to reset your carkit? I had the same problem after the rom-update with my TP1 and I put my carkit (Bury CC9060) back to factory settings. So I did the same this morning after I updated my TP2 and now it works just like a charm. Of course I don't know if your carkit has this possibility. Good luck, greetz Ton
'iznogoooog' - yes it work perfectly until you restart either device - 'ton66' - unfortunatley a reset is pretty much all i can do!!! eeeeek!
hopefully a reset will fix it! - i did unplug my b/tooth adapter then switch the unit on - then off then plug it back in.. didnt change anything.. oh well! will do complete re-set 2day!
BTW:
thanks so much for everyones help!
Got a questions. I am using the AVX-826 with build in Bluetooh. I want to know if you guys get the Signal Strength show on your Head unit is correct. on my unit pair with TP2. The Signal Strength indicator doesn't move. it always show the strength with my phone is connected to the unit and it stay that way.
The Battery Strength indicator does work and show the correct battery level.
I have exactly the same prob!
Hi,
I have a AXV800 and a BTA200.
My first device was a Artemis with WM6.0. No problem so far!
Then I changend to a Diamond with WM 6.1 and had the same problem as mentioned before. Now I tried my new TP2 and still the same problem.
And I tried the old Artemis again with a new 6.1 ROM and the same problem as on the other two phones.
Now I think it depends on the WM build. 6.0 seems to work 6.1 not!!!!!!!!!!
I did a reset on my AVX800 two times without luck!
I think I'm going to use a normal phone without Windows mobile for the next test!
Schelbi.
I have had the TP2 for a couple of weeks now and am generally very happy with it, but for some reason the Sim Access Profile is not working correctly with my Audi. I have paired the phone with the car and have enabled SAP in the phone's BT advanced settings page. Unfortunately the car will only access part of my phone book (only contacts under A to B are showing). The phone has all of my contacts on it and all of the other features of SAP seem to be working. I know that I can use JETware as an alternative but would like to know if I am doing something stupid with the phone before I go down the JETware route.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I put my problem / question in this thread:
I use the TP2 in my skoda with a audi BT-SAP-Adapter this combination works, tested it before with my S/// X1.
When i pair my phone with the sap-Adapter the adapter recognizes that the TP2 can use the SAP-BT-profile and use the longer pairing PIN (when you pair a mobilephone wich has no SAP-profile the adapter use the Handsfree-profile and shows you a shorter PIN). As far, everything seems to work great.
But when my TP2 want´s than to connect with the adapter i see that the statusline shows the typical symbol for the flight mode and in the BT-menu at the BT-adapter i see the words "SIM-Access" for very short time (~ one second). Next the line “Stereo-profile” or something else (it is to fast to read) appears and half a second later the line “Handfsree” appears. The Symbol for a handsfree connection is shown at the statusline and the sign for flightmode changes back to the normal symbol for filedstrength.
what i tried as far to solve the problem:
1) i contacted the HTC-Support. They told me. that they made, at the moment, a test-row to solve specially the problems between HTC-WINMob-Handsets and car-handsfree-sets. So i got from there a software which i had to install at my phone and got a error-report. This i had to sent to HTC. No further comment from them.
2) i searched at very much forums at the car and mobilephone scene.
3) I tested the combination with different SIM-cards from different Providers and different ages.
4) I deleted my contacts at my SIM and wrote some newer one with an NOKIA Phone (this helped by some other SAP-car-FSEs)
5) I used No-Data
6) I installed the newest radio-rom.
Nothing of this brought some solution.
As i found at my recherches i´m not the only one who hast this problem with the HTC and sap-car-handsfree-set.
I thing, that this is a problem with the BT-Stack which is used at the TP2 and other HTC, is it?
Dose somebody solved this problem? Even with an other HTC with the same BT-Stack???
Has somebody any other idea to solve the problem??
Any help??
Merci
Quino666
I had no problems with SIM access on my 2010 A3 TDI -- worked flawlessly with my Tilt 2 with stock ROM. I haven't checked the car's phonebook lately, but last time I looked, everything was there.
1) With update on WM 6.5 or the first WM 6-version of the ROM?
2) Do you use a build in Handsfree solution with sap-profile or the adapter-solution?
Merci

Hey,
I have a similiar Problem with the rSAP snap-in Adapter in my 2010 iDrive BMW. rSAP (telephony) just works great, but it only syncs the simcard's PhoneBook entries.
The BT-Monitor on my TP2 (Energy Rom WiMo 6.5.6) shows an active SAP and PBAP connection. Any ideas how I tell my TP2 to distribute the internal Exchange contacts and not the SIM-Contacts?
bye
