Just received a new batt for dopod 838 pro after half year not using it.
And last week download this ROM ,HERMES_WM6.1_CHS_Buil19900 and last sunday upgrade my 838 pro.
After subscribing an unlimited data package from local carrier, and started setting my 838 pro but Network Wizards cannot run it prompt me error msg as shown in screenshot below.

Is there any stick ROM wm6.1 for Dopod 838 pro ?
I tried to registered at dopodasia.com but it said my Hardware S/N not valid
i searched xda wifi and also searched in this board but cant find stock wm6.1 ROM for Dopod 838 pro.

Try searching for other connection wizard, may be browse my folder for a connection wizard should run for you.
Flash with another ROM. Try PDAviet its a good ROMs. Build 20273 V18 full has an automatic network setting.

Hmm they do lovely ROMS, but that doesn't solve his problem, he may want to use Chinese ROM, which I don't believe PDAViets do chinese characters. So try this cab, and see if you can run it without any issues.

Lol, unzip, there is a cab file within, transfer to your phone, install it as you would with other cabs, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS, also there is NO official 6.1 ROM, there is however a 6.0 rom official for DOPOD, found this as the best. But yeah ... the above should work fine with your ROM? Let me know.

you may need to enter your carrier settings manually ... or can try your luck with an imate configurator instead

There was some trouble with initflashfiles in the kitchen,you should think how to solve it

any significant changes in speed? compare with original ROM (WM5)from iPaq? I was using hx4700 with WM5 ROM, but it's running very slow... so I down-grade back to WM2KSE...

when i load the rom load tools it says Rom error invalid for device or designed for a later device.

I mananged to load it on, good work though but some suggestions removing the today themes and some other pointless help files could free some space for other things.

Works allright for me. It's a bit of a shame that you removed NavPoint. As it turns out, I used it more than I thought. Good ROM, though.
G-R-E-A-T work. After soft reset it starts faster almost twice time! (Before 47 sec. and now 27 sec.! (Lite build 110607). Keep on it.
Thanks for this ROM, I just installed it, now re-installing my software again.
So far it feels great

Known Bug: Autoconfig wont work (will show blank screen) u need to cancel it to proceed. A fix is in this rom but dunno if it is working or not (Thx Cashmore for the fix)

I face a proplem that I have update my rom but during the updating my battary was ampty and the phone turned off. the updating not completed
now my phone just start the updating then hange I try to update through th external memory but same thing happened. ... can you please help me?

I tried this ROM. It is constantly getting frozen after calls, more of this, button press being cached and can be processed, and get frozen again. As a result, it happened several times that I dialed numbers by mistake and could not stop it, so I had to reset body with stylus.
Manila. Not flexible, soft keys overrides system soft keys and are not flexible (you can not see "Notifications" by left soft key as default.
Not clean enough, too many stuff from Asus etc.

Yeah, can you let us know as soon as uploaded, I'll try it out. Wonder if this will have the vga issues I have with any of the 6.5 Beta Rom's, specifically when I launch my CoPilot Live GPS Software I get a black screen and have to keep pushing end call to get back to today and kill the app. Works fine on all the normal roms though.

Seems alot slower than even the first original ROM i used that came with Diamond..
Some Apps/Setting show a white screen and doesnt do anything
New album is a very nice idea (works like Iphone album art) but either way to sensative or very buggy
Camera doesnt work..
Reflashing with an older WIN 6.1 ROM (dont have time for beta testing was hoping it was gonna be bug free )

LOL didnt even try and play any audio gave up after 4 min of playing with it.. he might have messed it when he cooked it.. wouldnt of thought 6.5 beta would be that buggy

I have the whole ext rom cabs.well you can also do.Install total commander ande fo to ASUS_ROM and install.Then pls chck and let me know if u messaging and all are working or not
P.S : Found Solution.
Unrar the archive
Copy all files to /Windows
Then execute installer
it will injstall the ext ROM and the version as well
then one can go back to the stock ROM.
Am extremely sorry for causing a little inconvenience.I will correct these things in my future release.
