I've found this issue with several roms. Recently I had PDACornerPro V22 on my TyTN and the sound was much smoother and clearer when talking on the phone. Now I've got V23, and it's like it's distorted by loudness, as if you where playing music on a stereo way too loud for what the speakers can handle.
It's not that it is much louder, just distorted as if it were. Had the same issue with PDAViet's ROMS in the past... Lowering sound volume to the lowest setting while on the phone does not help, it gets lower but still sounds terrible. Anyone got any ideas?

go to /windows/startup/ and remove "setacusticperamiter" (set acoustic peramiter) soft rest, and it should be better, if not, there was some reg edits someone did to fix it, ill find them for you.

I'd be very happy if you could find those reg tweaks! SetAcousticParam does not exist in Windows\StartUp folder. Only "poutlook.lnk".

Thanks alot! Speedy service i may say! Will try it.
I don't understand. What kind of value types is it? Strings? Binaries?
Ok I got it, but it doesn't make a difference. Still screaming loud. Even after soft-reset. This is so annoying. I know it's rom related since PDACornerPro v22 had great smooth sound. And on another fact, my mother has the exact same phone as I but running official ROM, and her phone sounds great too.
Got any more ideas?

I dont get it, I have the same problem. it looks like 'SetAcousticParam' is the problem so removal should fix it. The post that you linked to indicates installing 'SetAcousticParam' unless I'm reading it wrong!

before I tried audiopara i used a program from warlock called increase volume 20% and it made it so loud that when i played music over the speakerphone it was too loud. I think that any louder would start too distort. I did find though that it increased the volume in the earpiece as well and for a while i had bad sound on phone calls. I uninstalled and installed audiopara but it didnt seem to do anything. I then reinstalled the increase volume 20% from warlock and the sound from the earpiece during phone calls seems fine. Try it and see what happens. I found the cab here on xda. Let me know your experience.
i see, I will test the warlock program out. Can you send me a link, or a forum that u found it in?

have tried volume+ 1.9.0.1 booster, does some changes but doesn't increases the volume, maybe slightly though makes sound more distorted..
Any help would be highly appreciated

check the other link i left for you but why would you want the sound volume to go higher...it is loud enough as it is..anyway hope you find the solution anyway or the app you want..for me the volume is loud enough..hehe my ears bleed how awesome the sound and volume is
but anyway really that mod is good and it does make a lot of difference specially if you want to play around with the equalizer..and if you do listen to alot of music then try poweramp...play with the equalizer and volume does get alot higher specially if you untick the limit volume from settings

i am sorry let me clear i am talking about the loud speaker of the phone, not the in-ear... in ear is amazing as hell i love them i am using klipsch s4 with it,,, but i am missing alot of phone calls as its loud speaker volume is low(vibration is good but doesn't impacts well on skin (if kept in pocket), by which we can notice a call is coming. And if playing video songs on loud speaker, many plays fine but some stutters/crackles(keeping sound enhancer on) a little and few mp3 songs also gives this problem even as they cannot get sound enhancer on(maybe due to good quality, but songs downloaded for free or something)
fair enough..nothing else that i can recommend then..volume plus is the only one..and from trying to search all the results lead to that...sorry dude

This flash-able Volume-tweak.zip includes both mods simultaneously.
1) Silent Camera!
Volume.db
Replacing the existing volume.db file, the one I'm including disables all shutter sounds (which I may change to one of the shutter sounds), autofocus sounds, and other obnoxious camera tones. I understand that Samsung's idea is to make people aware that others may be photographing them, privacy stuff and all, but let's be honest shall we? Creepers are going to creep one way or another, and the autofocus 'beep' disturbs the baby and makes the dog bark! It also disables the boot sound. Best part of this tweak, it doesn't even touch the actual camera apk!
2) Volume Enhancing!
default_gain.conf
The next is a mod adapted from the developer Meltus. You may know him for other awesome volume modifications, but this one he made for the GSIII international. This should make the phone overall louder in all respects. I have, however, adjusted it from his original settings to keep the volume from reaching 'crackling' volumes and possibly damaging the speakers. This level sounds loud and still sounds good. :good:

Do you have this mod working on your device? I ask because I got burned on the teh kernel, and I'm a little more cautious about what I flash from now on.

It's brilliantly simple. Most android phones come with these settings ingrained into the kernel, but Samsung has left them out. In theory, one could make these adjustments from on the phone itself, if you can open a .db file. Very simple, nothing that can break a phone. Just be careful not to blow out your speaker or your ears.
Sweet, Camera sounds really annoys me.
Time to creep!!! (on my kids ) lol
edit: flashed and tested camera. No sounds on focus and snapshot so :good:

Sweet! :highfive:
As an addendum, this tweak is even neater because it disables the camera noises on a system level. I've seen a supposed higher-resolution camcording camera apk floating around that 'supposedly' disables camera noises as well... but it doesn't matter if it does because this tweak stays in effect. I don't believe this will affect other camera apps... but any Samsung camera variant should be muted.
Random you rock. Great to see you here. Your OG epic stuff was awesome. Thanks for the sound free camera!

For the sound boost (using the international tweak) you used the config file, correct?
That file does not, by default, exist on our US variants. I've personally included the tweak in my ROM over on T-Mobile. I've had a person or two say it made no difference. Me personally, I thought it was louder then hell (changed speaker boost from 0 to 40 and headphones from 0 to 25). If I put the volume on the lowest possible setting, its very audible still. With my headphones, I put it on three ticks and it was loud. Putting it up fully made me feel like my eardrums were going to pop.
What are your feelings on the tweaks? Do you think they actually work? Considering the config file doesn't exist by default, do you think they're actually pointed to in our system to be used?

I too noticed that the file isn't there, and was momentarily skeptical. But as the base coding is likely fundamentally identical, I thought I'd give it a chance. It's hard to fully test while at work... but I can hear my mp3 alarms quite clearly now. I had made a thread days ago regarding how my songs play fine in the player, but at half volume as alarms. The alarm was much much louder! And I generally have a fairly discerning ear.
That said, I now have to experiment the individual settings I think.

I agree the coding is likely identical. My skepticism comes more from the fact that the file doesn't exist by default. If it doesn't exist, and we add it, does anything in our system actually point to the config file in order for it to actually take effect?
Regardless, I'm pretty positive it works. I just was hoping someone had a better understanding of how it works and if it's actually pointed to.
When you play around with it, mind PMing me your results? I'm curious what you get.
For one, change the headphone settings and try with your headphones plugged in. I think they're extremely loud with the boost set to 25..

Certainly. If different values draw drastically different effects... I'll probably be making a "Louder but comfortable" version and an "Extremely loud, hearing damage may ensue" version. :good:

There will be, but I have to write up the script to delete the conf file later. The volume.db file need only be replaced by the stock one.
Kernels don't support it, at least Franco and E-X don't, so any way to Increase the volume dB of the loudspeaker? The output of it is really clean but more loudness (without any crackling though) will certainly do. Anyone using any mod or something like that? Not really looking for something complicated like editing some text values or anything.

I would like to know this, too. Rings and notification sounds are not loud enough to hear well, even @Max Volume. I don't mind editing a file if I knew what file & what part to edit.

Yes, boot into TWRP and flash this zip. When you do an installer starts up and you can pick and choose the mods to flash. I would also flash the battery icon mod so you can change the battery icons to something with a more visible percentage.
Last time I tried Viper, it made the loudspeaker get loud sooner. Such as volume level 50% was louder after the mod.
But overall volume was the same at 100%. I used an SPL meter and test tones to verify.

Sony Xperia™ Z5 Premium audio system
Beats™ libraries and effects
WETA Reboot app
3Minit Battery
