Camera software need - P3300, MDA Compact III Accessories

Hi
At the beginning I wanted prologise for my bad English. ;-(
I need to find software that controls the camera in my phone (HTC Artemis 3300 - Windows Mobile 6). The point is that pictures do themselves without user interaction, for example, every 2 minutes to strip the hotel. Does anyone know any way by which I could achieve something like this?

O2 Configuration Software

I've got a small problem with some XDA IIs phones I just got. If I do a hard reset, left the O2 software run and install all the stuff it needs and then install the syncrologic client we need for the PDA's to replicate with our Lotus Notes servers the device just seems to be slower that a slow thing thats very slow. ie opening the battery meter program can take 5 minutes.
If I do a hard reset and when I've done the digitiser and cutting and pasting etc.... if I do a soft reset before the O2 configuration software runs then installing the syncrologic client it all works fine.... except.... some of the software that O2 installs is needed, like album, for playing the MP4's, etc....
So, does anyone know where I can find this software? Presumably there is a copy in the ROM somewhere, is there any way to see and get a copy of the software?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
The software youre refering to is in the Extended ROM.
The Extended ROM can be unveiled by the Extended ROM tools, available from this site (try search).
By unhiding the Extended ROM you can run (install) any program that is in it.
Thanks - glad there is something that will do that... however, searching at the front page brings up quite a few rom tools, but nothing that I can see that just "unlocks" it for me to see and run apps from the ROM....
Maybe you could point me to something specific for a newbie...
Thanks

Of course hermes can do the whole touchflow thing. We have a good touch screen that can record touch's, swipes drags etc.
The current problem is that the "touch" part of the current incarnation is made for a computer with a different type of screen. so just copying the files over doesnt work. it's like tyring to run a ATI tech demo on a Nvidea card. just cos both systems have XP, and have similar capable hardware, the calls from the software to the hardware are differnt.
However what I am really confused about is why anyone wants this nonsense on there ppc. Its basically a animated gif spawning over 3 screens. Its a shoddy gimik which has no true tie in to the workings of your ppc's apps.
Currenty problems regarding slowdowns system crashes etc is purly down to poor coding for this 1/2 baked interface.

The part that is nice is making the UI more finger-friendly as opposed to stylus-req'd. E.g. I most like the ability to scroll thru my contacts without having to hit the scroll bar on the right. being able to "drag" the screen is what I want.
Thus, I don't care about the TouchFLO as much as I do projects like the ContactManager prog that someone developed. I want the programs (browser, contact mgr, music playlists, etc.) to be done via finger dragging, than stylus-to-scrollbar...

Which is the reason why the HTC Homeplug is so useful.

And I have that working, in color, no less. I'm wating for the 6th button so I can drop the audio manager today plug in and have it in the same HTC Home space.
Seriously has anyone here used a iphone.. this htc touch is nothing similar.
I can understand the desire to use the ppc without a stylus, however this does not allow it. It's not even a pretty front end.. jerky 8 frame black and white fixed animation which isnt adaptive to personal modifications, which currently runs like crap on a 400mhz system.. c'mon..
The nicest feature of the iphone is the media side. "touch flow" which the htc touch doesnt even attempt to do.
incase you havent seen the htc touch in action.. this is it... Amazing.. sigh..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9SEarIN7HM&mode=related&search=
As soon as you decide which of the 3 limited screens you desire back to the regualr wm5/6 screens.
If the htc touch included a special touch media player that scrolled through your images, music, videos, contacts, emails, sms's, games, had a decent dialer/text/email interface..etc.. maybe it would be comparable to the iphone.. not neciserially in design, just function.
Dont get me wrong I love my hermes. It's versatility is what makes it great, I wouldnt trade it for a iphone.. well maybe I would.. just to sell it and get another ppc & holiday.
Now we have good stable operating system, sure a few tweaks here and there are needed, that shall allways be the case.. we should all poll idea's to design a great interface, and not waste time over a useless 3 screen cross device hack that doesnt really work properly.
Its not a easy task, but there are a fair few creative and bright sparks in the xda devs community. Starting a fresh is the way togo.

Everything you suggest can be achieved with buttons and scroll wheel - no stylus req'd.
Home plugin is a performance killer and unreliable.

Stuck on splashscreen after Touchflo install
Hi experts,
I'm currently running WM6 Black Satin since a few days and I'm allready addicted to playing with all kind of stuff. I came across Touchflo and installed it. When I did a softreset, I couldn't get my Hermes device past the splashscreen. I removed my storage card and and did another reset: same result, stuck on splashscreen. I'm not really interested in getting Touchflo to work on my device, I was just curious. But now I just want to get my device working again. So what do I do? Any advice is welcome

Videochat software?

Ok, windows Live messenger mobile doesn't support it, neither skype... so the frontal cam of the trinity is useless?
Is it possible that the only way to make a video connection is a videocall? Doesn't really exist any software able to establish a videochat messenger like?
You can't say "it is useless except for video call" since this is exactly what it was designed for: 3G video call.
I understand that you prefer to use it for free, or cheaper through wifi connexion etc. and I wish I could do the same too.
Nevertheless, as far as I know, there is so far, only one sof which can allow you to make 'Instant messaging with video' on PPC, it is called Microsoft portrait. Something between Live Messenger and net-meeting...
There are two things which are not going to make you happy though.
1)
Video go through the rear camera, not the front one.
2)
Sounds as for other messengers, go through back speaker, not the ear-piece.
I had it installed a year ago on my wizard, but since I knew nobody using the same soft, I've never been able to test it out so far.
I'm ready to reinstall it on if you or anyone on this forum is willing to make some tests with me.
There is a version for PC, of course, so it is possible to test it on your PC too.
I heard it can work along with MSN, but both sides must have both softwares installed Live Messenger AND Microsoft Portrait.
You may ask: so what is the big deal about this software? the big deal is that this soft is optimised to use a very small amount of band-width, either 9600 kb (regular gsm connexion) wich gives a quite grey image, or broad band, wich gives you then full colors effect.

Actually, technically, it is already possible in a messenger application, from Tencent in China: QQ2007. And it uses the front camera.
The problem is that Tencent want to make a living out of this service, therefore, you have to be connected through the 3G service of a Chinese Telecom Operator, otherwise, it doesn't allow you to sign in...
Unlike previous version of QQ, when you are connected through wifi it doesn't work on the windows mobile version. There is a walk-around for nokia version, but nothing for windows mobile...
It's really a pity cause the technology is there, it's just a matter of that they don't want to provide it for free.
There are a freeware software for videochat: packetbone (an old release)
Another option is iFon from http://www.tabletmedia.com/ifon.html , seems the best solution for now

Change from WM6 t WM6.1 - advantages?

Hi everybody
I have the main question - what are the main advantages of WM6.1 comparing to WM6.0.
Is WM6.1 worth enought for change if we says about so many mystakes in it?
Sorry fo my english.
Bigfoot
I'm interested too, and what about Battery usage & Speed (memory usage) ?
thanks
There´s quite a few threads with the same question and the answer is usually the same....Try the roms out.
To me is kind of rude when someone says"this one is better than that one" or stuff like that, because these rom cooks are using their time just for us and they don´t deserve those comparisons.....so like I said give different roms a shot and compare yourself.

WM 6.1. can be managed from System Center Mobile Device Center (see http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/mobile/default.mspx). Thta's a big advantage for the large compagnies
The bluetooth pairing doesn't need the password 0000 toggled in.
Memory & battery usage are still the same.
Going back to WM6

After many efforts to work with WM6.1 and with my apps I finally gave up: for the indevidual (and not companies) there still many bugs comparing to the stable WM6: annoying soft-reset, many apps are well integraded with WM6.1 etc.
Sorry, but I do not see how WM6.1 is better than WM6.
but are any of the roms real 6.1...or just lookie likey?????
i have been using PDAVIET 3.08.61.29WWE and it is excellent. I have many apps loaded and have not encountered a single problem. This rom is blazing fast and supports everything i have thrown at. 6.1 has been perfect for me i dont have any problems as i read. i literally install 1 to 2 apps per day and not a single issue. before this i was using FInixNOver WM6.1 and same thing not a single problem.
in fact, i was looking for WM6.1 because i wanted a new GUI ... but microsoft appears to be as same as always ... just sells us old **** that hadn't changed since Windows Mobile 2003 ... poorly unacceptable ... like microsoft ... like always ... i'm just fed up with theses poors OSs, i hope the iPhone2 will get out soon, i will sell my trinity as soon as i can and get this really GOOD device !
there will never be improvements on WM from microsoft for a long time, everyone will have to wait until at least 1 year before seeing the first devices coming with WM7, so i prefer going to a brand that do good human-machine interfaces, and the iPhone is doing really good !
why would we have to stay to WM ?! the iPhone do the Exchange Sync ... i just don't understand anymore microsoft ...
Question about pocket excell and word
I red somewhere that WM 6.1 pocket word and excell documents are in PC full format and for WM6.0 this format is only pocket. Is that true?

Hi
Iphone ? ha ha ha ha
It's so buggy and you need itunes to use it .......
If you want another interface, try ifonz or another one available here
I use now WM6.1 on 3 devices : a trinity, a blue angel and a smartphone : so far so good
And I am not a big fan of Bill !
iPhone
I bought two 8 Gig iPhones the first day they came out. One for myself, and one for my wife. The very next day, I returned mine (10% return charge).
My wife loves it because it's VERY simple to use, and you cannot mess things up easily. But for me, you have to HACK the PISS out of it to get it to do ANYTHING! It's network is dog slow, no MMS, no GPS, no SD slot, no programs to install, (untill I hacked it), it crashes more often than my WM6 devices, JOBS Locks it down every chance he gets, iTunes SUCKS and crashes Windows! I will admit, the screen and the multi-touch is impressive! It makes a GREAT iPod, but a usable communications tool, it's not.
Even with all the hacks on it, it still does not compare to WM6. WM has litterally thousands of software programs you can use freely for just about anything. I'm sure in time, the iPhone will get closer, but for now, not for me.
My biggest pet peeve was the fact that my appointments would not show up on the main screen when I first turn it on. That's something I insist on with my WM phone.
If you want a great TOY with a fantastic screen, then it's fine.
i think differences are only little.. part of it is the sms system. 6.1 transform sms system into some kind of a chat window. well this is quite good considering it is easier to read the history messages

Why not trying the new SPB Mobile Shell 2.0?
I am very happy with this.
I apologize for getting side tracked.
iPhone does have a great GUI, it's just locked down making it hard to modify, at least for now.
You are right, WM 6.1 GUI is basically the same. Thanks Bill!
WM 6.1 adds the threaded SMS as mentioned before. It IS slower, but I prefer this layout.
The task manager now shows a LOT more information including running processes, memory consumption, & CPU consumption.
I'm not having any of the problems reported by other users (ie: program incompatibilities, crashes, bluetooth, activesync, etc...), so it's MUCH quicker running on my phone.
Bluetooth is Much more reliable, and simple to hook up (0000 is automatic).
Browsing in File Explorer is Much Quicker.
It might just be me, but my speaker phone seems a bit louder.
Managed Programs as mentioned by Stingray66.
Wireless Lan seems to have less trouble for me. Stays connected without having to set it up constantly.
Just my experiences.
6.1 is perfect for my Trinity, RAM memory avalaible about 25 Mb, A2DP is perfect and direct, without password, multitasking in best way.-
I don´t like the easy touch interface, but in fact, with SPB pocket plus interface is working perfect and with your own custom interface.-
I can see youtube and flash videos, no problem with video and audio files and 100% compatible with Corecodec media player.-
In my own opinion is the best OS for my trinity.-
Thanks Landy.-

I agree and .NET 3.5 can be added too. With the tool of Modaco (.NET Configuration) it's possible to switch between .NET versions and even configure the version for each application.

Hi.
What are you all talking about. There is no official WM6.1 for Trinity, all this ROM - is home made. This is just vinaigrette, mess of different ROM, as well as WM6.

Various Problems with Rhodium

I got my Rhodium 3 weeks now but I have already a list of problems. I like to share them with you and maybe you can share your problems with us.
Problem's
1. After one week my screen broke. (T mobile send my a new vario V)
2. When I want to use a program like need for speed. My Rhodium has not
enough memory. Until I turn of and on my Rhodium and then it works.
(when I use the reset button it won't work)
3. In the taskbar there is always a sign that I have a new message but I
don't have.
4. Sometime the batery icon say my battery is empty but it isn't.
5. When I whant to go online it always asks are you sure. I hate that.
If there are more problems I will update.
I hope That there is somebody out there who can fix all our problems.
these have nothing to do with htc touch pro2 itself dude!
it's about the rom you installed in it,so pls return to your technician to get a good rom!
it's like you have super good pc,but the windows xp you installed is crap, then your pc will always get this problem and that......
FYI: rom means: OS(wm 6.5 for example)+Radio(GSM etc)+Extrom(touchflo 3d etc)
It's threads like these that scare people away from this excellent device and WinMo in general. I've never experienced any of your problems and I'm quite certain most users have not as well. It's obvious your negative experience is among the isolated incidents that every device suffers from. Otherwise, the numerous web reviews would have mentioned them.
Btw, nokiadashi, what's with the funky font size/color in all your posts? I think you'll be doing us all a favor by sticking with the default font size and color unless there's something you really want to highlight.
