Hello,
i can't connect my Artemis with the router Belkin Vision N.
Any solution?
My artemis have the WM6 with Rom Artemis Touch 3.01 WWE.
Thnks
Mantex
Hi
On the router have you made sure that the wireless signal is in mixed mode i.e. transmitting both B/G and N?
The Phone will not pickup wireless N only signal
Cheers
Dave
Hi Dave,
Yes it's in mixed mode.
If it is not in mixed mode, the only option is wireless off.
Thanks
Mantex
I had also an Belkin N Router for a few days couple of months ago.
To connect my Artemis with this router I had to pull down to b Mode (11 Mbit/s ). Thats why I returned the router. Because I wouldnd switch the modes to use my Artemis and the n-draft speed was very poor.

Hi all, I've just installed upgrade my Jasjam to WM6 ( Black 1.2) - very nice and fast. However, after upgraded I'm unable to connect to my NetGear Router via Wifi (WEP enabled) any longer.
The WEP Key and MAC address are correct - sometimes the software SOCKET WIFI can identify the SSID but unable to connect still. I've tried to connect without WEP key but no success. The only success I have with the Jasjam to use the Internet is via MS activesync thru notebooks ( via WEP wireless ) to the router. Can anyone help ????....
Is there some setting in WM6 that I'm not awared off.
Many thanks in advance.
I had the same problem with my netgear router on WM6 until I realised I had to check/enable "This is a Hidden Network" in the network card settings.
should work

Thank you very much. That tiny check has saved me hours of frustration. It worked perfectly.
Does anyone know if it's possibl to use the phone as a wireless router
that connects via HSDPA so other devices could share the connection?
I have HTC Tytn (Hermes) and I think it might be possible.
Are there application already available that does this?
Thanks!
Hi,
Never tested, but you should be able to share the hermes internet connection and then in the pc connected to hermes share that connection as well.
Is that what you want?
Regards,
I'm posting this from my macbook pro using wmwifi router and connected to HSDPA. My phone is pretty warm though
yes there is, pretty easy to use cab (just follow the directions to setup the network first)

@ all,
it might sound a bit surprising, but I dont get my new artemis ( i now own one with wifi !, my hero didnt!),
working with the wireless of my belkin n1 router!
everytime i enter the mac adress into the router, wlan stops alltogether! ( do i need to enter the mac adress?)
entering the normal wpa-psk passwords into wm6.1 vanilla or b&b5, the connection constantly changes between available, but not connecting, and unavailable... even when sitting right next to the router!
any ideas?
help highly appreciated!

news:
got it working for now-- changed wlan channel in rpouter to channel11, which is preset in wm6.1!
is that how its done?
Update:
most of the times the router just kills the wlan function all in all once i try to connect with the artemis!
Need to reboot router to get it running again!
Where am i going wrong?
p.s. no, i aint a novice
I've got the same roblem mate. Not got a clue what to do ?
Had the same issue with a Belkin N router yesterday. Solution I dumped it went down to Maplins and got a Netgear. Plugin and I was away.
Had flashed the rom serveral times (Win 5, 6, 6.1 some of the cooked roms) nothing worked was thinking it was a hardware failure.
Dont' appear to matter how you set the belkin nothing works.
Thou oddly my Exec connects with it just fine.

Gee, that would for sure make me one unhappy pal!
Anybody around here has another idea!
Possibly some tips on "Must does" ! for connecting via wifi with artemis! Whats with the mac address-thing?!!!

To be honest, I've looked at dozens of sites searching for a solution to this issue. Everything from flashing the ROM (Device and router), enter MAC on the router, set a IP address, changing channels, security settings and nothing appear to work with the Belkin N family.
My experience with Belkin has not been good (Tech support has always been first class).
The first router (Cheap 54g) would run for 2 hours then lockup, requiring a reset of both the router and cable modem). Replaced by Belkin after several days talking to tech support.
The second router (Same 54g unit, different Version number) Ran fine until you moved data about, anything downloading above 150k locked the router. Wired connections could do 300k then lock up. Replaced by Belkin.
The third unit (Upgraded to a 2 stick version for free) DOA. Replaced by Belkin
The forth unit (Same 2 stick version) worked data transfers good but would not allow wifi connections other than WEP 64. Firmware update would then WEP 128. Replaced by Belkin.
The Fifth unit (Same 2 stick version, different version) Wifi worked with all settings. However with wifi on all wired connections ran like a 56k modem. Replaced by Belkin.
The sixth unit (Upgraded to the N) Worked fine. Wired connections fine, wifi was a bit hit or miss, two Toshiba laptops connected fine, the Dell laptop never connected. Belkins own N usb dongle also never connected.
My Orbit never connected to any of the Belkins, the Exec did with some and others not.
This issue is not limited to Belkin, if you look about, other makers routers also appear to have this issue.
The cheap Netgear (£35) works just fine for me. Took 5 minutes to setup. Everything in the house connects. I`m happy after 7 months of Belkin issues.
uiuiui,
what a story!
just so we dont get us wrong here: had my n1 now for about 6months, and its running just fine with all my notebooks! - just since trying to connect with my artemis i am running into probs!
A theory of this mornings trials:
any way of changing the preconfigured broadcast channel 11 within the artemis? --- seems to me the channelchanging is causing the hangups!
will try setting the router to channel 11 and see what happens!
greetz
Ive set channel to 6 in the N router, the Art/Orbit will find it and go though the motions of connecting and make it unavailable (our problem with N routers). The Network setting will show its on ch6 (if you can there before it becomes unavailable). Then goes to ch11.
I think the Art/Orbit just runs in sequence though the channels, if it gets a lock it uses that channel. If not it moves on, I think we just see ch11 because its the last ch available in the scan.
Have just played with the Netgear channels and the Art/Orbit connects with every channel, the Network setting page shows the correct channel that the routers broadcasting.
So it don't appear that the channel is hard coded to the Art/Orbit.
Ok stumbled across this thread a little too late. Our Linksys wrt54g was not able to handle the kind of data we were transferring and moved to a Belkin_N1 router, I have an HTC Wizard but same symptoms, if I try to connect to Belkin I can not connect to anything WIFI before a soft-reset, I get prompted for key fine once and during connection something messes up the wifi radio, I am not sure if its a software or hardware issue but got the same issue with an SMC router, while my D-Link at home is working fine. I wasted so much time flashing ROMs and what not. Thanks for everyone who has put info here, somebody can read here and save the pain of hitting the wall with frustration.
I've been having troubles trying to connect my JasJam to my new Draytek Vigor 2820Vn router's wireless LAN, and I'm running out of options.
I can connect my desktops and notebooks to the Draytek, but not my JasJam.
I can connect my JasJam to my old Billion 7402VGO router, but not to the new Draytek.
I am running WM6.1 on the JasJam, and had the same troubles with Fario's ROM and PDACorner's ROM.
The Draytek runs 802.11b/g/n, and I have tried it with b&g&n as well as with just b&g. I have turned security on and off, Access control on and off, and everything leads nowhere.
The JasJam will detect the router and show it as available, but it just goes through the motions as if it's connecting, then drops the connection, and the access point changes from "available " to "not available".
I'm looking for ideas, so hit me with your best shot (politely).

I've now lodged a support ticket with Draytek on this issue.
Might help if others with the problem lodge as well.
What I'm guessing is that the router OR phone drops the connection due to an incompatibility with a technology being used by the router.
In the router settings (figured out yourself where)
- Mixed mode protection : RTS/CTS (Gives me stability & range in noisy environment)
- Disable any sort of "performance" tweak/features (Boosting, bursting, any sort of special power mode, whatever)

Yeah. I've been over this sort of stuff in the router config. Tried turning burst off, and dropping back the 802.11 to b&g only, turned off all security, stood on my head, etc - no difference that I can find.
Haven't looked all that hard at the WM6 registry, though. Was trying to find where WM6 set the frequency region (Draytek shows as Europe, even though I'm in Australia). But I am using the same channel on the Draytek (ch11) as I was on the Billion, so shouldn't be an issue.
Will keep persevering with WM6 unless I get a brilliant suggestion from Draytek.
Hi guys,
I too have this problem with a 3600 & the 2820vn router. Has there been any progress?
Previously, I've got a problem with WM 6.0 and a Draytek 2820 using wifi.
Now, it's solved with a 3.21 firmware (and also upnp disabled on Draytek).
d'oh, beat me to it...i use my wm6.1 with drayteks 2820 and 3120 but i had to upgrade firmware
Hello,
I’ve just bought a Draytek Vigor 2200VG and I’m having the same problem with HTC 3600. Previously it was working fine with SMC Wireless router.
My laptop can connect ok, but when working on batteries I’m having a lot of network interruptions.
Model Name : Vigor2200V series
Firmware Version : v2.6.2_(5)
Build Date/Time : Thu Jan 31 10:30:14.88 2008
Compared to Draytek website, it looks like this is the updated firmware…
Anyone with Vigor 2200V or Vigor 2200VG?
Thanks.
Pedro
@all,
just havin sold my iphone i am missing synching my mails with my pda over wireless, since my belkin n1 wireless router simply doesnt allow my artemis to connect
so, mind you telling me how you connect successfully?!
- which hardware / wlan access do you use?
greetz
Any wireless router will help you connect with artemis. I have used Dlink, netgear and also linksys routers to connect.
TO connect sucessfully, you need to activate wireless on the router. Then enable wireless in your arte using the comm manager. Once the wireless is activitated, try searching for networks.

Kailash
thanx,
but i really aint a novice!
I have tried the belkin n1 now for time and time again...it searches, finds the network, asks for the pin...and returns wireless as unavailable again...
this repeats regardless of security settings or anything else i tried
i remember there having been a lengthy discussion on this...just cant find it..
so back to my question:
which hardware does work?
ideally quote your settings as well, please
greetz
have you checked that both the router and artemis are using the same authentication type? WPA/WEP etc
it might be worth checking that your router isnt set to N-Only for connection speed too....cant remember what speeds the artemis supports but B or G are most likely and maybe your router would reject the connection if it's the wrong type...IIRC the 'N' spec is still in-progress so not widely supported yet
Try a D Link DIR-655

You are not alone!!! I bought a Belkin N1 Vision in December to replace an ageing 3Com router and no matter what I tried I couldn't get my artemis to work. Even without any security. Finally sent the Belkin back and got a D-Link DIR-655. It works like a dream. Connected with no problems at all.
Darn, that confirms what i thought for quite some time - anybody intrested in owning an N1Belkin!
Just doublechecked with an old netgear--and it connects right away...
thanx for ur help!
now could we widen the length of compatible routers, pls.?!
greetz
I use a sitecom 300N router and my artemis connects with it without any problem.

Netgear
Hi, I use a Netgear WNR834B. No problems using WiFi with Artemis.
Setup; WiFi up to 270 MbPs, region Europe, channel 6 broadcasting and the strongest encryption for security.
With all of the ROMs i have used, there were no WiFi issues.
Regards
This may be stating the obvious, and I apologize if it sounds stupid, but has anyone checked for the "wireless mode" on the router ?
Just ensure the router is on "mixed mode", i.e. it supports b/g/n connections...
Hope this helps...
hmm I also have problems with SMC (SMCWBR14S-N2), mixed mode, but not connect with Artemis.. my notebook connect without any problems.
had the same problem with n1. tried and tried last night with luck, removed all settings on artemis dissapointed. gave it another go this evening after booting system up and connected okay after putting in password.
just double check all the router wireless settings and any security settings you have. save any changes and restart the router.
hope this helps

Well done getting it to work. I thought I tried everything! Perhaps it was the restart that did it. Too late for me to confirm. My Belkin went back to be replaced with the DLink 655. Good router but does slow down with time and needs a reboot every now and then.
