change Qtek 9090 language. OK. Done.

I have Qtek 9090 with german windows, and i need to change it to english
ROM 1.22.01 GER
RADIO 1.06.00
EXT ROM 1.22.134 GER
I need everything, from drivers for win 98 (i can't find it anywhere), to ROM files and instruction how to not kill PDA

nevermind, something wrong with my internet settings

I've just tried to update PDA using MaUprtadeUtnoID.exe, got error "no connection with device", and now Qtek just shows "serial" on top of the screen and "V2.06" on bottom of the screen, and when i connect USB cable, it shows "USB". thats all, no reaction to power on, no reaction to reset... Whats wrong? Is this the end?

So much qestions, when doing something for the firs time...

mendoza, does this mean the upgrade worked?
I wasn't fully sure that the MaUpdradeUt_noID.exe method worked when I wrote that guide.

Yep, no problems. I've used it because normal update said: "This update is not for the model that you are trying to update... bla bla bla"

steps to change the language
You need a registry editor.
Say we want to add "T9englishLdb.dll"
- copy "T9englishLdb.dll" to \Windows
- go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\T9 Input Method\MUI\Languages]
- it should be:
"Available"="0407"
- change it to:
"Available"="0407, 0409"
(if you want that T9 english to appers first, put 0409 first in that list.)
- go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\T9 Input Method\LDBs]
- add new string value "0409"="T9UenglishLdb.dll"
- reboot

Qtek 9000 from french to english

Hi all,
I just bought the qtek 9000 but os is in french, i have the os in english but when i want to do this it says wrong rom. Could someone please guide me threw this problem.
Also if i'm able in the future to get it upgraded in english wont i have a problem with the azerty keyboard, cause english os is with qwerty keyboard no?????

Hello,
First, extact your new english rom, than repace files in new rom with files in my package. Put universal in bootloader mode, run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe wait... 30-40 minute and enjoy new rom

Thx for the reply but this is chinees for me. I am completly new at this. What do you mean with extract new boot and afer that replacing files with yours??? Extract from where and how?? also upgrade tool is showing picture from S100 and mine is 9000?? then how do you put your phone in bootloader mode??? and what about keyboard problem???? ( azerty/qwerty )

I know that You have country id problem, I will try to explain how to.
1 If you have upgrade file as XXXX.exe you will have to extract that file using win rar (just right klik on it and extract to your folder.
2. Unpack file from my package WM2005reinstall.rar
3. Replace file in the original unpacked rom with files from WM2005reinstall.rar (RUU.dll , Getdevicedata.exe ...
4. Run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe That file has no country specyfied so You can install Your rom (English). It is working in all MDA so don't worry about different picture.
Hope it wiil be clear if not - write ...

Ok got that. Finally but before i try this upgrade, what about keyboard. Will it be different?? (azerty/ Qwerty, do you know this...

Here's your solution:
1. Get a registry editor. Here is a free one :
http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=92
2. Look at the value in the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty
The DWORD should show what the FRENCH code is for in XXXXX format. Write this down.
3. Upgrade to the new english ROM
4. Install again the RegEditor
5. GO to same local key and the key will be 66589. Change this to the value of the french keyboard (value you got from step 2)

i tested on my jasjar, no problems, but now many gusy have faced the problems after flush NEW ROM.
After flushed ROM, the device was Stucked on Splash Screen.
So you must know flushing ROM is dangarouse and do it as your own risk.

However, some thai characters don't display especially thai characters in the third (top) row (I thought you known that thai language has 3 level of display). I'm very interesting to your work. Unfortunately , I can't read japanease. If anything help to improve this ,tell me.

this may have device drivers or important files.

My ectrom has opend, you may also.
But i cant write and delete files into Extrom.

i coudnt fount it.
i used Uniceode font, one font included Multi Languages FONTs.
i prefere use this font or another Unicode font.
But very few Unicode font has such like many Language support.
If they have, the size of Font will be 20MB or 30MB like a cyber unicode font.
i think if you thailand guys need correct one.
we must make another ROM for Specialize Thiland Language.

i got made Special tools with Buzz's tool. to unlock extrom for New Qtek<if cant unlock with old tool>
DL this one, and remove all previouse unlock tool if you use already.
<hard reset is better>
Install this can, the go to Start Menu and find Unlocker Icon,
And Excute this, make soft reset.
Mabe you can get Extrom free!

of course you can do that!
just replace wince.nls in ROM and inject Arabic font also into ROM,
then add the fontlink registry of default.hv.
thats all, if you upload Arabic font and registry and wince.nls here,
i can make you soo!
But if later than today, i have no time till at theend of May due to business trip!

After successful & reset, the screen still at bootloader mode.

ofcourse u can use in Exec,
you problems is one of troubles while upgrading,
USB mode?　right?
try to use UNI_ExitBootloader.exe by Buzz,

i told you all again! i can not take any responsibilty even you will be in trouble with upgrade. This ROM doesnt have problem, but can not gurantee!
My Exec also have still stucked on Splash Screeen by myself after try Upgraded with Offcial I-mate rom. still......

Danish XT9 layout on cooked wwe rom

Hi All,
Im looking for a guide - so I can get the XT9 danish layout working to those cooked roms.
Is it possible somehow to copy the XT9 files from the lastest danish rom 1.93.xx and then use it on a random wwe cooked rom?

This has allready been answered.. You need install this cab then danish will be visible in the menu among many others..

I installed the cab file and danish seem to be working - but still missing the ÆØÅ on the keyboard layout - can this be fixed ??

i come from germany and want to know how i can change the language of a rom from wwe to ger??

yes i know, but it give the newest rom only in wwe and not in german. have somebody an idea how i can change it at my own with a german language file

Myself, for example, is using RRE's 6.5 Rom now, and I installed Chinese font and input. Those stuff works perfect.

I've been trying to install Chinese Fonts and input but ended up hard reset my Tilt2 a few times. Seems all the methods that I've tried messed up the key board. I've tried installing the CE Star and that still messed up the key board.
If your method is stable, would you please point me to the right direction?

do you guys think that changing the language in the "input menu" in advanced config can be successfull in my case --> for example, i've got an AZERTY keyboard (french unbranded rhod100) and i install a wwe rom, so in, english, but i want to be able to write an A by pressing A instead of seeing it put in a Q... dunno if anybody will my idea right, bad english sowwy guys!!?
so the rom stays in english but the input has to correspond to what's printed on my hardware keyboard :S
