Hi All,
I am new here and by reading a lot within several threads I got a bit confused.
I would really like to try these great custom roms, but I am worried about my warranty. According to some threads, it is not possible to go back to the original SPL after using hard SPL and some other threads mention putting back the original SPL.
So sorry for asking this question, which is mentioned in some other threads also. Is there anyone who can tell me how to back-up and restore my original SPL?
Thanx in advance
Robert

Hi everybody.
I already used the forum search, but did not find the information I am looking for, although I am sure it exists somewhere within this forum. Maybe I used the wrong search terms.
Anyways.
My Hermes needs to be sent to o2 germany for servicing, because it is almost falling apart. Since it still has warranty, I guess I will have to restore the factory state of my Hermes's software & bootloader.
I am running ollypro right now, and installed schaps.
Now my question:
Is there a way to restore the original bootloader, and reinstall the WM-Version provided by o2 on their website?
Maybe somebody can point me into the right direction, or give me advice on how to go about?
Thx for your help in advance everybody...

First sticky in this forum! Good luck!!
thx for the quick answer.
First of all sorry if I´m doing things better not to do.
...but i´ve the problem that i´ve lost my 4gb internal storage. i think i did everything to get it back. but it did´t appear yet. it neither can´t be recognized by my pc as external storage device nor by the diamond itself as internal storage. i tried to farmat the storage and i flashed 3 different roms. nothing.
now i decided to to try it with warranty at o2. i put back the original rom from the o2 homepage.
is there anything that they can figure out that i did hardspl?
i do not remember if it was a unsinged or singed hardspl! is there any diference?
...so please if there is a god...tell me were my 4gbs are or what i can do to get them back...or that they can fix it as warranty case.

p.s. sorry for my english but i think you know what i mean.....
You need to flash the original SPL otherwise it can be expensive when sending back to o2 ...!
Search the Diamond section for SoftSPL and "Original SPL for warranty"! Hope it helps you a little bit!

Hi,
I've seen a couple of threads about users who had the same problem & they managed to fix it so as their 4gb storage was working/ showing up again.
So I dont think you need to go as far as sending it back for warranty.
Try searching the diamond forums & you should find at least 1 of the threads & read it & it should help, you should be able to fix this yourself m8
Hope this helps

Can anyone provide a fully nooby-proofed tutorial for the entire flashing process for this awesome tablet?
I got mine some days ago, i found some infos about the rooting in google, but about the flashing I found almost nothing, except the required files for download.
I know now that there are a few ways to flash a rom, with odin, to put the device into recovery mode and with ??twrp??
Please guys could you make that ? I am sure there are also other people with the same questions here.
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi everyone.
I hope it's OK for me to post a thread here. I had posted in the TMobile specific help forums yesterday but I noticed that these forums are much more active and I have a somewhat new problem.
My phone is intermittently connected to windows and listed as "QHSUSB_Bulk". I've come across some help threads on this issue for other phones that I'm working through, but I was really hoping to perhaps get some M8-specific guidance. I'm supposed to be studying for my medical boards right now, so I'd really appreciate some help that could save me some time.
Here's the thread that I posted yesterday: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ruu-error-152-unable-to-restore-tmob-t2869758
(mods please move/merge/close if appropriate).
Thanks!

What do you think about this sort of thing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
I'm trying to find the other thread I was referring to where the guy said his phone was in the same state as mine but was able to recover it. Edit: Ah it was this thread, but was applicable when I had Error 152, not QHSUSB. http://www.xxxx.com/htc-one-x/help/error-152-ruu-update-t2861685
Do you have any tips for avoiding this problem in the future?
I'll probably have to return, just want to learn at this point.
Thanks! PDD

Nope. I gave a pretty detailed summary of stuff that happened before the phone became unresponsive in the thread from my OP. I think the main problem was thinking I could update versions since the RUU said it "update." Should have stuck with same version RUU. Don't know why that would completely brick the phone, though. And it only bricked after the time I ran it and it said "congrats everything worked!"
RUU are normally the safest way to flash devices. If it was bricked because of it. It could be any number of things.
Corrupt RUU
Premature disconnect from either end
Or bad emmc table
I went through three m8 first two ended up in QHUSB mode and the third after playing it safe for while attempted again and it worked out just fine. All I was trying to do was flash the international 4.4.3 firmware zip.
First two came from T-Mobile while the third HTC sent it out to me. So maybe that made a difference, I did change the model and CID to that of the international version the third time so if that made a difference I wouldn't know for sure.
Unfortunately I'm unable to post in the form link below as I'm too inexperienced.
I used the tool below to un root my phone after somehow managing to reset, so I could try and run some undelete software. After no luck Id like to reset back to a rooted phone as far as I'm aware I did not install a custom ROM, but despite a few post on that forum asking the same question the only anwser I've seen is to search the XDA site. I have found other ways to do this but they are talking about bricked phones my still boots fine I just need to root it again. Does this mean that this tool-kit does not allow me to revert it back?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/toolkit-oneplus-3-toolkit-unlock-t3398799
if not can one advise me which is the most reliable way to do this.
Thanks Adrian
Any help please!
Is anyone able to advise please on this one.
