newbie question - sound problem on SPV M3100 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

I've just bought a refurbished SPV M3100 and have installed the MRH 5.7 cooked rom which all seems (seemed?) to work fine.
Now that I've finished installing bits & pieces, I tried to listen to some music through headphones to find that it comes through the left channel only.
I've tried 2 sets of headphones and looking for various settings etc. but no joy...
Any ideas? (I'd like to avoid a hard reset or flashing a fresh rom if possible as I like this one)
Or could it be that I've just been sold a faulty smartphone?

should have said - normal headphones (not BT ones)
I read all the BT headset issues when I searched the forum before posting...

A2DP Audio routing problems

Well, being that this is my first post, I would first like to say that this site and forums are top notch, I have had my 8525 for about a month now and have learned an immense amount of knowledge in a short amount of time thanks to you guys. Now for my problem...
I have my 8525 running Black Magik, radio 1.43.00 and have recently purchased a pair of Sony DR-BT21G A2DP stereo headphones. Now I was a bit weary about buying these since I have seen no mention of them on these forums... buy anyways. When I first paired the devices together I was able to listen to music without problem, though sound needed to be tweaked. After trolling for quite some time through the forums (yes, the search feature works great) I found what appeared to be the best A2DP setting for audio quality, and now after playing with every possibility cannot get music routed to the headset, phone calls work without a hitch. I have downloaded BTAudio to route all system sounds to the headset but It doesn't seem to work. I toggle BTAudio on and I can hear slight static through the phones but the audio still comes out through the system speaker. I have played with A2DP settings in both pimp my black and HTweakC but have not had any success. I am planning on reflashing Majik tonight to attempt to set it up from scratch, but I was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on this issue? Thanks in advance.

Delete the pairing. SR. Re-pair. Should do hte trick. Better yet - for the most stable ROM and A2DP tweaked for the best sound "out of the box" - reflash with Sleuth255 variant of LVSW ROM.
How exactly can I delete the pair? I can repair the device but have not seen an option to remove it?
To toggle Audio to A2DP you might want to see:

There's a description and a link to download the CAB for A2DPToggle plugin too.
Let me know how it works on your hardware.

sound issue with bluetooth

Hi there,
I hope i am posting in the right category, if not, mods pls move it.
I have a HTC p3300 loaded with B&B4.1 ( Thanks tom & pof!) and paired with my first ever bluetooth headset ( SE hbh-ds980). I received numerous complains from the party other end stating they can barely hear me ( voice comes out soft and low). If i move the mic literally close to the mouth,, then it gets better. If I speak directly i.e no bluetooth ( phone builtin mic) they can hear me fine. I made sure both the volume controls ( incall and speaker volume ) are set at max and even played with Mic AGC setting and still no luck.
At first i thought i bought a knock-off ds980. But here's a kicker though, when i paired it with my backup phone ( nokia 6230b) and tried calling them. They can hear me loud and clear ( almost eqvt to w/o bluetooth).
So i am guessing it has to do something my HTC phone now. For the life of me , I cannot find any mic related settings in wm6 besides the mic AGC. So here I am asking this humble community if there's any registry tweaks that can be made to boost the microphone? I would be grateful to any1 who comes up with a solution. I am not even sure what to do now..get rid of the ds980 or not
I have the same problem with Bluetrek X2 HF, I guess this may be problem with some part of Artemis HW, because it is'n ROM dependent. I have tride this HF with HTC original ROM, BB3.7, BB4, BB4.1, Meschles ROMs and now using Fracoons beta2, but this problem stil remains...
you are right, its independent of the ROM.. I believe it has something to do with the bluetooth stack on our artemis.
Anyways, i am in the process of selling mine. Now should I try another DS980 or go for the DS970?

JABRA BT320s

Anyone had any success pairing the JABRA BT320s with MDA 2 and if so, do all the functions of the bluetooth stereo headset work?
Thanks.
Upgrade
Purchased Jabra BT320s and paired with Vario 2 after upgrading ROM. Everything working fine with excellent sound quality. I did not try to pair with Vario 2 on old WM 5.0 ROM so I cannot say if the BT320 would work on this OS.
I DID try to pair a BT320s with my TyTN a while ago, no luck......im going to try again now, as i was quite annoyed it didnt work. Will report back soon.
EDIT:: Gonna need to get a plug adapter as i forgot the dumbasses i bought it from sent an EU power supply and not a UK one...LOL!
from what i remember it was around JUNE time when i tried it, sounds like the bluetooth drivers may have changed since i tried it but it did seem as if the headset was the problem and not the drivers as i have had other A2DP headsets working fine.
Jabra BT320's
Bluetooth can be a real pain at times - with unpredictable results. I cannot begin to tell you how much wasted time I have spent trying to pair gadgets together - so it was a pleasent surprise to find the Jabra's paired first time and functioned as described.
Wishing you LOL.
tange.
well i tried it again and even on my pretty up to date ROM it only pairs as a headset and not wireless stereo urgh!
may be worth a rom upgrade?
i have a 320s (uk version bought from a tmobile shop - their selling them for 25quid) and it works fine on my wm5 spv m700 and is detected as wireless stereo and headset

i had the same issue with this thing ... i did a hardreset and it showed up as stereo headset again. i had to do one anyway...
@all how do you like the jabra? mine is quite noisy ... i use my ugly samsung speakers instead and thinking about buying a 3.5mm adapter for the car.
I have been playing with the bt320s for a few days on different roms for my wizzard. I have been tring some WM5 and WM6 roms for features and bluetooth options. What i found was that I could pair with WM5 but even if it gave me the stereo option it was only in mono. After a google search i found someone mentioing that WM5 only supports Mono.
I then tried a couple of WM6 roms and found that they all supported the stereo correctly.
I then hit a problem as I decided that a ROM i tried earlier had everything i wanted (Diamond). So, decision made, I flashed the rom and tried to pair and it would only pair on headset and not offer the stereo. Very wierd as it worked before????.
I then found a post on another site which mentioned the following with the Bt320s headset.
1) delete any pairings on the phone.
2) switch of headset
3) plug the charge into the mains
4) put the charge into the headset 3 times for 5 seconds each.
5) Recreate the pairing with the phone.
Sounds wierd but it worked??????
I now have a wm6 rom with stereo bluetooth.
the only problem now is that WM6 closes all my apps when i switch it off and on using the power button.
This seems to be a bug when you enable a security pin in WM6 which i am forced to do via a directpush policy from work. Does anyone know a workaround for this as it is anoying to have your cub/pointui/media player etc close on you and go back to the home screen whenever I use the power button.
*****Orange are selling the Jabra BT320s online for £9.50 at the moment. Well worth the money*********
Quick update, on the latest pandora ROM (Tytn) ..... Its working great.

Speakerphone always on!?

Hi Guys,
For some reason my Artemis (TMUK MDA Compact III) always has it's speakerphone on. I have tried flashing other roms, but they all end up the same. Can anyone help? I read somewhere that it was a radio rom issue, but I have flashed the radio numourous times to different version to no avail.
I would apprieciate any help you can offer. Thanks.
Speakerphone
I had occasions where the speaker phone was one, even with the head phone plugged in. People in the train were staring at me before I noticed that earphone and speakers were playing. The software (mp3 player) did not have options to swith and has never done that before. is the order in which you plug in the phone or start software relevant?
Flash a good ROM with Radio 02.98.90 Version. I had on my PDA HTC WM5, O2 WM6, B&B 3.0, Touch 2.01 Full WWE, selfcooked ROM. In one of those ROMs I think there was the newest radio ROM and I never had any problems yet.
I have same problem...
it is same with all ROMs I tested
The only way to resolve it is to send it back to HTC for repair. I tried 6-8 different ROMs, all with the same outcome. Tried many different Radio versions also, it is certainly hardware related.
Hello, I solved my problem with speaker
I just disassembled my XDA (according to this instruction: http://www.modaco.com/content/HTC-Artemis-Love-Artemis-MoDaCo-com/260167/Disassemble-XDA-Orbit/ ) and cleaned earphone connector (wires inside) There was dust and wires were oxidated... After I cleaned it assembled and turned it on Everything was working propertly!!!
PS sorry for my bad English

Stereo bluetooth headphones problem

I have recently bought the Jabra BT320s Bluetooth headset for my Vario II. It all seems to be working well except that after about 10 seconds of music the sound will cut from the headphones back to the phone. This problem occurs everytime i try to use them. I'm currently using Schap's 4.01 lite. Has anyone experienced similar problem?
There seems to be some ongoing issues with BT that arise in various forms from time to time. If you have a look at this link or this one you may find some helpful discussion.
I have a continual battle with my Jabra BT8010. Tried to upgrade to its latest firmware, only to discover that I have to re-pair the devices every time I want to use them. Luckily, I still had my older firmware file, so I was able to go back to that one.
I suggest that if you search these forums enough, you should be able to find something that may give you a fix.
