i had the same problem , it can be made by a virus , change your rom ( windows ) , scan your camputer for viruses

If you have upgrade your phone try another OS Windows mobile, and format the card too, but in FAT32 not 16 FAT, hope it works, Ihad the same trouble cause mi card was in FAT16 new.

hi, new to the forum! i have just bought a sans disk 2GB card but im having trouble using it. i tried it in a friends card reader and managed to put a couple of mp3 albums on but then it makes the system freeze up until you take the card out, i have formated it and tried again but the same happens, similarly when i put it in my exec the phone works fine and can see the mp3s but when i try and load one it freezes. iv been looking for the answer to the problem and found some info on 2gb cards in hp's something about this fat/fat32 thing, is this the problem iv got and could someone enlighten me? also will i be able to format the card or whatever while it is in the exec and synced with pc as i do not have another card reader, although my friend has a pc one if i have to do it that way...

Check your OS
This thing happens only when
you have initial ROM (update it wth latest ROM)
Card is not formatted on the same media (format it on your universal)
Card media is + technology which is not compatible with your mobile. (try to change it to SD instead of MMC)

sorry if im being dumb but how do i format the card on my universal?
simply format it in windows... I got a 2gb high speed card from samsung and I am using it without any problem without formating it even once
it could also be that the card is incompatible or your universal is faulty. try another card and that same card in some other device
the card iv got is a sandisk one, i read that it was compatible with the xda II so presumed it would be fine with the exec?
I think it's broken.
I had a 2GB from Transcend, and it had the same symptoms.
I returned it for RMA, because I read that someone else ad the 4GB version was working perfectely.
Before you do return it, buy another card reader. I had 1gb cards that corrupted seemingly, except a newer SD reader formatted them fine and they have been fine ever since.
Not all readers can handle the big sizes.

my Qtek9000 with wm6 crossbow dont read my SD card 1Gb. The other card of 512 work fine.

try formatting on your pc using FAT
Dont work. I test FAT format and FAT32 format and nothing
did your 1gb sd work fine before on your Qtek?..try it in another device. Your card may not be a genuine 1gb!
in the past with WM5 my sdcard 1GB work fine. When i install the new crossbow the card not work. In pc work fine.
Did you install the new ROM with the SD card in the device? This can cause problems although I'm not sure exactly what problems... purely hypothetically, I think it may use the SD card as partition and then it won't be recognised as space but as used memory... purely conjecture that, don't quote me...
... ah, but then a reformat would fix this wouldn't it... sorry, still learning

bought a 2gb Sandisk MSD card but it doesnt show in the memory section or using any file explorer, the 256mb one i got with the phone does work though.
Ive formatted to fat in windows as it works perfect with xp OSX even shows it.
ive installed the sd fix from the forum but that doesnt fix my problem.
Any Advice other than get another card?

hey guys i need your help... my 32gb mini sd card suddenly stopped working... by stopped working i mean i am unable to format it.. unable to copy files to it... delete files from it.
what happens is i format it on windows and the format succeeds, i open the drive on windows i copy new files and all, but when i plug it in back to my desire hd, all is back to what it was before as if i did nothing, all the previous files are there, even if i copy files on it i synce 20gb of music took me a while, then to discover that when i plugged it back into dhd none of them were there...
its as if what ever i do to the card nothing impacts it.. i even used panasonic formatter, tells me its formatted, i put it in dhd and all is still there...
i even plugged it in a mac repartitioned, formatted as a mac journal drive, i plug it back in all is like before...
id really appreciate ur help, i bought this sd card from a nokia store in dubai. and i am currently running on my dhd cyanogen astounding broccoli
i've got exactly the same problem, and it's the second time it happens.
always xith a 32GB sdhc card, one with a class 2 and other a class 10.
and with a 4GB or a 2GB, it properly works.

Have you tried checking it for errors? Is your 32GB legite or a Chinese fake? Have you tried formatting it in the phone? Unmount > format > mount
try format card on telephone, i use with no problem trascend 32gb

I have a big problem with my sd card.
I recently formatted the entire card, of course I made a backup before and after formatting i return some files that i need..Card was never been physically outside the DHD and have no physical damage.
Problems began when i notice that my Adowloader download torrents again and again from start.the card became mounted read-only. I connect DHD on pc and formatted card thru windows in default.when i disconnect dhd from pc all my files are again on the card.I format the card through DHD and again files are there.I removed card from DHD and put it into a card reader on a PC and do the chek format files and fix errors, and again nothing ...
I dont want to buy new card right now ... any solution?

Google for: "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition Setup" It's freeware. Put card into a reader, not phone-to-pc, start minitool, and look, if there are more than one partition and if it is FAT32!

It is much better than stock windows formatter.

How many files/folders do you have on the card?
Maybe too many AND very small size?
If not, then check a pc with linux and try to format with it...
