hi, new to the forum! i have just bought a sans disk 2GB card but im having trouble using it. i tried it in a friends card reader and managed to put a couple of mp3 albums on but then it makes the system freeze up until you take the card out, i have formated it and tried again but the same happens, similarly when i put it in my exec the phone works fine and can see the mp3s but when i try and load one it freezes. iv been looking for the answer to the problem and found some info on 2gb cards in hp's something about this fat/fat32 thing, is this the problem iv got and could someone enlighten me? also will i be able to format the card or whatever while it is in the exec and synced with pc as i do not have another card reader, although my friend has a pc one if i have to do it that way...
many thanks in advance.
Check your OS
This thing happens only when
you have initial ROM (update it wth latest ROM)
Card is not formatted on the same media (format it on your universal)
Card media is + technology which is not compatible with your mobile. (try to change it to SD instead of MMC)
I hope above may help you
sorry if im being dumb but how do i format the card on my universal?
simply format it in windows... I got a 2gb high speed card from samsung and I am using it without any problem without formating it even once
it could also be that the card is incompatible or your universal is faulty. try another card and that same card in some other device
the card iv got is a sandisk one, i read that it was compatible with the xda II so presumed it would be fine with the exec?
I think it's broken.
I had a 2GB from Transcend, and it had the same symptoms.
I returned it for RMA, because I read that someone else ad the 4GB version was working perfectely.
Before you do return it, buy another card reader. I had 1gb cards that corrupted seemingly, except a newer SD reader formatted them fine and they have been fine ever since.
Not all readers can handle the big sizes.

hey guys i need your help... my 32gb mini sd card suddenly stopped working... by stopped working i mean i am unable to format it.. unable to copy files to it... delete files from it.
what happens is i format it on windows and the format succeeds, i open the drive on windows i copy new files and all, but when i plug it in back to my desire hd, all is back to what it was before as if i did nothing, all the previous files are there, even if i copy files on it i synce 20gb of music took me a while, then to discover that when i plugged it back into dhd none of them were there...
its as if what ever i do to the card nothing impacts it.. i even used panasonic formatter, tells me its formatted, i put it in dhd and all is still there...
i even plugged it in a mac repartitioned, formatted as a mac journal drive, i plug it back in all is like before...
id really appreciate ur help, i bought this sd card from a nokia store in dubai. and i am currently running on my dhd cyanogen astounding broccoli
i've got exactly the same problem, and it's the second time it happens.
always xith a 32GB sdhc card, one with a class 2 and other a class 10.
and with a 4GB or a 2GB, it properly works.
any idea??
Have you tried checking it for errors? Is your 32GB legite or a Chinese fake? Have you tried formatting it in the phone? Unmount > format > mount
try format card on telephone, i use with no problem trascend 32gb
Hi, I have a Desire which has been running many different ROMs today since i just got a Sandisk Mobile Ultra 16gb class 6 memory card for it. I had a Class 4 4gb card before which worked fine but i kept running out of space.
I put the card into it's included adapter and put it in my computer, successfully creating a 1.2gb ext3 partition through EaseUs partition manager. I put a new rom on the card, put it in my phone and flashed it.
The ROM (MIUI-Au ICS) worked fine but it said "unavailable" in everything to do with the sd card and isn't recognised by any file explorer. I thought it was just the ROM and installed Mildwild and a few more but they all said the same thing. All the computers recognise it fine.
Anyone know what's wrong? I've searched everywhere and found no solution.
Also now my 4gb sd card isn't being recognised. Is it my phone?
Using GParted I managed to put the Ext4 partition before my Fat32 partition and the phone certainly didn't like that. It wouldn't recognise the storage, my PC wouldn't mount the card. I had to put it in the laptop and only Ubuntu found both partitions and allowed me to re-partion correctly. If you have the ROM running, download 4EXT Recovery Control and see what that has to say. Otherwise I'm too much of a noob to help! Good luck.

I have been having problems switching from a 4gb sd card to a 32gb sd card in my htc one v. The 4 gig runs perfectly fine in my phone but I need more space so I switched to the 32gb card.
The problem I am having is almost instantly after putting in the 32gb card my phone starts lagging on just about everything. Load times take longer, the phone has more graphical glitches etc. I tried formatting the card to nfts and running paragon software to use that file type. Still no hope. I also partitioned the card to 16gb and free space for the other half and still no luck really. Though I did see some improvement.
Is it just that I got a bad sd card? Note that it works with my laptop and also in my pc perfectly fine, the phone just seems to not like the card or larger file size. Has anyone else gotten a 32gb sd card to work in their htc one v?
Thanks
Derek
Yes my 32 gb transcend class 4 works perfectly,no lags, try formatting it with fat32 with the help of your pc like I told you once before.

I have an ADATA 32gb class 10 card. I will try that
Edit: Ever since I tried partitioning the sd card with MiniTool Partition Wizard the card won't show up on my pc. The software says that it is a (Bad Disk). Note that I can use the card perfectly fine on my macbook pro and the phone also recognizes the card. If I put the card into my phone and connect with USB it works fine.
Hello all ive recently installed cyanogenmod 10.1 and everything's running fine.
Bar my 64gb class 10 sd card - it's not readable by cm10.
Ive tried formatting it via CWM and its a no go. Just says error mounting external_sd then skipping then done.
When the device is on it just says "Blank SD card or unreadable filesystem"
Ive formatted the card to fat32 on my PC and it shows as fat32 with 59gb free.
However when booted it still says blank sd card and when i tap it and tap format nothing happens.
But if i boot into cwm and mount mass storage it shows up on windows as fat32 and accessible.
I havn't any idea what to do now. Everywhere i read Cyanogenmod doesnt support exFAT which my card originally was when using touchwiz.
And now that Iv'e formatted it to FAT32 and verified everything's working i cant understand why the darn thing wont work on my phone.
And i don't know what to do now.. I need the SD card and its not like its a cheap one the built in 16gb simply doesn't cut it ive got a titanium backup that has all my apps and what not that i need to restore and all i need is this silly card to be reconized. So its formatted Fat32. is there anything else i need to do -- so that android reconize it as a use-able card not just a Blank SD card that it refuses to like?
Sorry im frustrated
All help is much much appreciated
Can anyone offer advice? I've been looking around day in and out and I can't find anything ):
Any help is very much appreciated
