Cdma Diamond Rom - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Hey guys. Just wondering some things here, and can't get an answer anywhere. These same questions are posted all over the web, so please lend a helping hand.
So, there is already one CDMA Version of the Diamond released to Telus, and soon to be Verizon and Sprint. Now heres the question. If I were to buy a CDMA Diamond off the web, one that is used on Telus, can it be used for Alltel, Sprint, or Verizon?
If so, would it be possible to make a ROM to go along with these carriers? I see that there is already a Diamond Kitchen available, so what would have to be done to get one of these phones to work on these carriers? Or is it already possible?
Thanks for any help guys.

I think the rom would not help because it is hardware. Not too sure though.

u can unlock it but alot of good that will do since its cmda you have to give sprint/verizon your esn and they will have to allow your phone for use on their network and as far as i know they dont allow unlocked phones even if its the same model as one they carry since the esns have to be sprint esns. if im wrong someone feel free to correct me.

verizon said they will open their network so when that happens yes you can.
the rest no.
and telus has NOT released the diamond as of yet.

telus is launching this little cdma beauty aug 14th. my question is this:WILL THE CURRENT ROMS AVAILABLE WORK ON THIS DEVICE

sprint will let you activate any phone, they just have to load your esn into there system

You can't use a WCDMA Diamond on CDMA networks because of its hardware.
The CDMA version has got a different hardware for make it work on CDMA networks...
I think that actual ROMs for WCDMA Diamond will work on CDMA version... the software part that controls radio hardware is the Radio ROM.

I am very excited about my Tmobile UK MDAIII. My wonderful girlfriend got it for me and i have been drooling since i got it. I was looking for information about it, tweaks, upgrades and all and i found this website and man, lots of good information and smart people. I have a request. I currently use Sprint here in the states, and i have this wonderful Tmoble uk MDAIII (blue angel), i know it is GSM and sprint is CDMA, is it posibble to remove the Tmobile drivers and install Sprints, so that i can use it with sprint? Kinda sounds like from the regular version to the EVDO version or somthing, please let me know some ideas. Mine is to hard reset, or remove the Tmobile software so it is just a PDA, then install the sprint roms, HELP PLEASE!!!
You cannot convert CDMA phone to GSM. Radio hardware is completely different.

HTC Diamond from Telus in North America - 1st provider to offer it

As it seems, as of today, Telus.ca is offering the HTC Touch Diamond on their website as a North American exclusive offer... they are the 1st one in america to offer this phone, is this true?
I ordered mine today, and will receive it in a couple of days, i know telus doesn't use SIM cards, is there a way to unlock it? Elsewhere in the world, when the Diamond isn't a SIM phone, how does it work? Can you still install any program you want, install new roms, or do whatever you want with it?
I am perplex... i wonder if i will have all control on the phone...
Thanks!
That's nothing about unlock. You won't even be able to insert a sim card.
Which means the phone can only be used in Canada, with Telus.
You will be able to do new ROM updates and all the good stuff....
but you cant unlock it because sadly Telus is CDMA
(Thats why i moved to FIDO)
Ok... so basicly, i will be able to do whatever i want with the phone, beside switching carrier is that right? I won't be able to use it elsewhere than Telus because there is no SIM card?
If this is the only thing, and i don't really bother... as long as i am able to do what i want with the phone and applications i want to install.
If I understand all of what I have read, there are no chefs cooking a CDMA ROM as of yet. Just cross your fingers that one of the talented chefs get a CDMA version of the phone so you can get their great work! But of course, you can install all the apps you want on it. It just won't be "tweaked" to its fullest.
We need a Diamond CDMA thread. When Sprint gets the Diamond, there will be loads of CDMA roms.
sprint has Diamond already. And they are CDMA. I wonder if i can unlock a Telus diamon and use it on sprint.

No, CDMA you cannot unlock, because carrier info chip works different than GSM. You gotto change hardware (I think, chip). GSM is different because of a SIM card.
I've got a Telus Diamond, and I'm starting to work with the kitchen that the guys over at ppcgeeks made. Theres quite a bit about the CDMA Diamond over there too.

not sure if this is possible

hi guys, I am thinking about upgrading my phone from the vogue to the diamond or possibly the touch pro. the question I have is, Bell Mobility is likely to not get these phones. is there a way to add the Telus Mobility version onto my network? Would I get in trouble from my provider?
rules of cause change from country to country but
your service provider would be pretty mad to stop
people from using their own unlocked headsets
would any of the software conflict with a provider it was not meant for?d
Bell and Telus both use CDMA technology, and use the same towers. But I think it would pretty hard to get the Diamond unlocked and switched to Bell. Not real sure though.
well that is good to know, a little discouraging but at least I won't waste time and money. Maybe I will just wait for either Bell to get it or for them to get the new network for the Olympics.

CDMA..ouch; maybe you should change providers.

Ok let me try it this way...

I'm thinking of upgrading to a better rom for my CDMA diamond but I've never done it and the tutorial is for non CDMA phones. Can anyone tell me WHICH ROMS will work on CDMA if any, and what to expect? I also dont understrand fully how the upgrade will effect my carrier specific functions on the phone like Data, SMS/MMS and Calls. I use Cellular South as my carrier and I never see anything about them on the forums. Its usually sprint or alltell when discussing CDMA phones. Sorry for the noob questions but how else you gonna learn right? Now can anyone help?
what means cdma?
CDMA mena sit doesnt take a sim card like GSM phones. Its a different network. I'm sure its way more technical than that but thats the depth of my knowledge
check out ppcgeeks.com, the majority of the roms over there are cdma roms

Thnaks, That helps alot!
Anyone care to shed light on the carrier specific stuff?
The CDMA Diamond has not been very popular, so XDA-Developers did not create a dedicated subforum for it like we did for the CDMA Raphael.
I suggest following the advice given earlier; check out PPCGeeks.com.

Sprint Touch Pro 2 UNLOCK!!

As its mentioned the sprint version is CDMA/GSM so is it possible to unlock the GSM of sprint version to use with other carriers?
There is a wealth of information on this subject in the Rhodium CDMA Portion of this forum.
It is being worked on, but is not finalized yet.

yes, at PPC Geeks they are working on it. I really want to see it work on the Verizon network. I hate carrying two phones around.
I am sorry it doesn't make senc eto say you want your sprint phone to work on verison both are cdma unlocking won't help you!
I want the sprint to work on other carriers because I live in turkey where the phone is not available yet.. and I currently only use gsm so cdma won't bother me too much for now if only the gsm could be unlocked and used untill the cmda is also unlocked.

You say you live in Turkey? Then a Sprint Touch Pro 2 will most definitely work because by default it's already unlocked to international gsm providers.

and lots of 'we're working on it'
