Hi all,
I have been given a completely bricked vogue. I have no idea what they really did on the device. As far as I've been told, they tried to load a wrong ROM (no idea which one)
When you switch it on, both buttons (green and red) light on but nothing else happens. I've tried all combinations to enter into bootloader+hard reset with no success at all.
Is there any way to force to enter into bootmode? Opening it and phisically shortcutting legs/connectors?
Regards and thanks in advance
Kiva
Bootloader Mode
Try holding Power button and camera button at the same time.
What a great gift!!
You deserve the brand new camera phone!

LOL,
yours seems to be OK. Not mine.
Any other smart idea?
Regards and thanks
Formatted the 512mb microSD card that came with the phone in FAT32 format with HTC as the name. Downloaded the new ROM from the HTC site. Extracted ruu_signed.nbh and renamed it to Voguimg.nbh, copied the file to the microSD, held camera button+power button+reset button and it entered the bootloader screen for me. The update had failed when I didn't put a volume label when formatting. Now everything works as it did before I bricked mine (and didn't know how to get into the bootloader)
Pretty much the same steps here:
Code:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24906
for that to work yu have to actually power of the phone then hold the camera button then power and after boot loads let go of the power button and hld on to camera button till you see the three color screen
try this
unzip an ruu , take the enterbootloader.exe file put it on your storage card and run it. Thats what i did when my power button broke.

So I dropped my dash and it landed perfectly on the power button. I wasn't even that far, I was sitting down and it slid out of my lap as I was sitting down on a small chair.. maybe 2ft drop at most. Well it pushed the power button too far in and it ****ed up something to where I cannot use that button. I have, however, stuck a paperclip in the right position or the right "button" on the phone's motherboard/chip and it has turned off/on.. but that's a gamble (I don't know how I hit the right spot, but I've done it twice).
Is there any way I can fix this? I know the warranty will not cover it.. so I'm thinking about opening up the phone myself, but I don't know what I would do from there.
Also, if I wanted to flash the new 6.1 ROM, does it require use of this button? I've been too afraid to attempt this new ROM as I don't want to get stuck in a situation where I can't turn my phone off.
*Currently I'm using a program on my phone to perform a "soft reset" when I need to restart my phone.
Thanks for any help!

Here's a visual aid; the button I'm referring to --

Oops, double post. Sorry.
You don't have to use your power button to flash a new OS. However if you run into problems, you might need to use to turn your phone back on. It's a gamble.... it all depends if you're up to it or not!
Ok, how about opening it up and fixing it? Is it possible to open it up and re-seat the power button so that it works again? Should I buy a new button from someone with parts?
You get a whole new case, which I'm sure comes with a button... or Try www.cnn.cn for parts. Or open the phone and see if you can fix it, maybe it's just an easy fix.
So to begin with i am a noob sorry. Now on to what i came here for. I just bought a HTC wildfire and i want to root it seems simple enough so i try to go into hboot by holding down the volume and power and the green LED appears and my phone vibrates a couple times. Other than that i just have a black screen and nothing is happening have i missed something like i need to update something to get into the hboot menu or something because its just sat here on my lap not doing anything except displaying a pretty green light.
Hmm, that's odd, the LED shouldn't be on when in HBOOT
Hm so something has most definitely gone wrong or i've missed something but everyone just says hold down volume and power button which i did
Are you sure you're doing vol- and power?
When I did vol+ the phone vibrated and the green LED came up, but when did vol- and power it got to the HBOOT normaly.
See told you im a noob thanks for that working now

Dude...
I think this is something that can be accessible from PC. Because, when i first connected the wildfire to PC and rebooted phone holding the volume up, I got driver installation for Qualcomm MSM.. Something strange

That is interesting, because I Google-d it and found that msm is a 3g chip.

here's the drivers for the qualcom chip http://www.4shared.com/file/mLyoLcRK/qualcomm_cdma_technologies_msm.html
So my rooted phone has been vibrating recently for no reason. I googled it and came up with "power down, reboot to recovery, navigate with the buttons to wipe cache, then reboot".
I did that, selected yes to continue, and it's been doing this for a while. I'm ticked because I usually research everything pretty heavily and did not this time. What should I do now? How long might I expect this to take?

you are in Download mode not recovery mode
to enter recovery press vol+ + home + power at the same time, when u see Samsung logo remove ur finger from power only and wait till recovery starts
Thank you! Can I do that here or do I need to get out of download first?
Heck, how do I just get back to regular operation? I need to research a lot more on this...
Fixed! I took off my case this time; I think my Defender was screwing up the volume button pushing.

Firstly - I am glad you solved your problem.
Now - If you ever need to get out of Download mode then just pull the battery.
Boot Looping Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 scenario1- If you cannot access your device, download the ADB and latest version of Odin
2- Hold Volume Down + Power and HOLD (I'm talking even after booting, I believe this clears the cache and re-initializes
device lock
3. Repeat. . . .
Many people give up or move on to something else at this point to try to fix, if it's still not working
squeeze the front and back panels together (softly) to ensure no loose Display cable,
then... hold
VOL+ VOL- + PWR This resets the device as if you were pulling a physical battery out, clearing the cache, repairing security program. REPEAT until Tablet says cannot initiate Encryption service, and will repair itself. IT WILL REBOOT
No need to hold the buttons this time as you will see your login screen.
The Secret is VOLUME UP - VOLUME DOWN + POWER for 45-50 second intervals.
Took me a day and a half so I figured I would save you some trouble.

+Yes it is still possible that this does not repair your tablet, I do not suggest taking off the back chassis as I have seen professionals break and hard brick devices this way.
IF YOU DO - Use guitar picks and or the official phone repairkit tool. YOU WILL need it.
So my phone keeps restarting and it actually opens up and nothing happens until I unlock the phone. Once I do unlock it, everything freezes and it reboots.
Any solutions guys?
A recording of what happens
have you tried to wipe the Cache from in recovery?
The phone is not loading the recovery as well. Not sure if I'm doing it right but I keep holding power and volume up when it is off, but it just boots normally.
Getting a message "PDP ... Backup Fail"
Update: I could enter the recovery by connecting the phone to the PC and wiped the cache.
Yet, the issue still there.
Maybe time to do a factory reset ?
OP, have you modified the system at all? Unlocked bootloader, rooted, and/or installed a custom recovery or OS?
Also have you added any new apps ? Maybe you added something that isn't playing nice.
You could try to boot to safe mode:
Simultaneously press and hold the
Side button
and
Volume down button
(right edge) until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release.

Touch and hold
Power off
until the 'Safe mode' prompt appears then release.
To confirm, tap
Safe mode
.
This process may take up to 30 seconds to complete.
Upon reboot, 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock / Home screen.
With Safe Mode enabled, ensure Airplane Mode is turned off then test device and app functionality.
