assign new text message screen to hard button - possible w/o SPB Pocket Plus??
I have SBS pocket plus and in my case is a memory hog... but i admit it has a nice feature where you can assign a shortcut to the new text message screen to any hard button... is there any program that can give me that feature (specifically) or any of you gentleman or ladies know how I can "activate" that shorcut from within windows, registry, etc?
New menu for wm5 will allow you to do that - assign to left or right softkeys see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=40088
Or with Vjsms you can assign this program to hardware button through settings\buttons see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26972
Anyone know how to change this?
For example, when I'm in text messages screen I have at the bottom "Delete" and "Menu". I want to have "New" to create new messages instead of "Delete"
I have the pro black 3.01 ROM.
(when using the wm5 version i had the "new" button instead of "delete")
Thanks!
Not exactly what you're looking for but a 'work around'..

With WM5, the softkeys were
Left softkey: New (text message)
Right softkey: Menu
after upgrading my Cingular 8525 to WM6 it is not that useful:
Left softkey: Delete
Right softkey: Menu
In effect, to create a new message I need to select Menu and then New.
Is it possible to assign New to the left softkey?

Nope, not if your talking about in the messages screen. You can, however, set a soft key on the today screen to New SMS.
this has been a problem since the leak of WM6, search around, can't remember if theres a solution or not because it doesn't bother me that much, most of the time i'm replying to texts.
Take a look here, and here.

Thanks for a quick answer. I have no idea why Microsoft decided that the typical action when going to Text Messages would be to delete a message and not write a new message. You may store hundreds of messages without noticing a dent in the available memory.
How to create a shortcut from the Today screen to New SMS or reassining one of the softkeys to this function?

Use softkey changer (attached). If it gives you the error "missing file tnsms" then drop the attached corresponding file in ur /windows folder.
Kiitos Karhu and thanks mcorrie1121. I will test your solutions.
The SoftKey.cab from the link in Karhu's post is the only thing needed. One item on the list of commands to assign to a softkey on the Today screen is "New SMS". Works perfectly.
If you do not mind one more tap you can also use WM5 New Menu - provides more options than just new SMS.
hello guys,
just installed the PocketCM Contacts & Keyboard now on my Vario2, and I've got a question to Contacts:
is it possible to set PocketCM Contacts as default Dialer-Application?
thanks 4 answers
greets donatello
To be honest I'm not sure about that one, however Pocketcm defaults the "contacts" replacement unless WM Contacts is running (open).
If you are saying you want to press the Hardware Green button to open Pocketcm then I would say unlikely unless you get somink for remapping ALL hardware buttons. Hardware button mapping i have seen doesnt usually cover the Answer / Hangup buttons.

jep I've ment to remap the green hardware-button. I've seen it's the standard contacts manager, but I wanted it as standard dialer too, so it seems to be useless for me
Hi all..
Wondering, is there any way to program the touch flow buttons (slider) for Mail and the one for Messages to go to the old style, original, windows accounts page and the threaded text messaging page as apposed to the touch flow? Would it be a simple registry key?
How about the menus inside programs on the bottom right and left.. Any way to go back to the original windows menus as apposed to the large touch flow ones?
i have the same problem - nobody knows - to solve ...
