Looking for a cab to replace the original file explorer with the better one that JJ includes in his BLACK roms.
If anyone has or knows where to get please post.
Ive searched and cant find it...
THANK YOU!!!
search for GreenSoftware GSFinder+
sorry, i dont have the cab for it
GSFinder is what your looking for. If you want to replace the stock explorer you will have to rename the gsfinder.exe to fexplore.exe and replace the one in the windows directory.
venelar beat me to it.
Here you go .. extract and copy to your device
thanks Guys!
i prefer resco to any other file explorer...so i dont have 2 file explorer icons in programs, how would I go about this? make a shortcut in /windows for resco but rename it to fexplorer.exe ?
TIA
Hi folks,
i searched trough this forum but did not find a solution for my problem:
i have to generate a .cab file (with OCP-CAb Manager) which can change the todays theme in Windows Mobile 6!.
i found some regkeys are different after changing the todays theme:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today]
"Skin"="\\windows\\mytheme.tsk"
but when i pack those regkeys (including the *.tsk file) in my .cab file ans "install" this cab the theme is not changed as i want to!
the theme is already on the device (windows directory) and can be changed in settings, but is not activatet automatically (as i want it!)
has anybody a hint (or demofile) how to install AND change a todays theme from a .cab file in the nwe WIndows Mobile 6 ?
Look in this article.
You will need to add a setup.dll to your file to do the trick.
I'm looking for a good editor (free preferred) that would run on the PPC. Word is fine for many things but I don't want to be restricted to the .doc, .txt etc file types (specifically I want easy access to skin.xml files for editing on the PPC).
Can you suggest a good editor? I'm having NO luck today searching for one. I was directed to PPC_Edit and it works fine EXCEPT that it will not browse outside the predefined file structure to where I saved the Skin.xml file
Or how do you change Word to see all file types?
Thanks,
NK
Do you mean a text editor. If so, you might look into Pocket Notepad, found at http://tillanosoft.com/ce/pnotepad.html. To see more files than the normal file dialogue box gives you (although it won't work with Word, Excel, or Powerpoint), look for the file dialogue changer. You need to have "gsgetfile.dll" in the Windows directory for it to work.
PocketNotepad did not work for me :-( And it does allow browsing all file structures.
The "DEL" anf Backspace do not work correctly on my PPC (WM 6 Maglite version on Axim X50V).

UPDATE: I rebooted the PPC and it works now. Wow ... self correcting software ...Cool
You could always connect it to a PC and use a PC editor to edit.

CKE (http://www.animaniak.com/cke/cke_main.asp) is the best text editor I have found for the PPC. It has syntax highlighting and many other useful features. Give it a go.
Cheers

Any software provide this function and it is able to create a CAB file to let me share with others?
thx =]
You should get the m9editor, find the manila files containing the icons you want to change, change them and if you want to make a cab, use some kind of cab manager or you could simply copy them in the windows folder (not with the standard file explorer - use total commander or something like that) and then restart TF3D. If you have done everything right, you should have the new icons displayed, if not - simply delete the manila files you have changed and softreset - this should restore them if you have not made backup of the original file.
oh, thx for your reply >3<
but m9 doesn't work on my pc T_T
i am using windows xp, china-hong kong version T_T
moreover, what software can create cab file?

Click to collapse
Strange... I also use XP (not the china version) and it works for me... maybe you should ask for support the creator of the editor. As for the CAB files - I personally use 'WinCE CAB Manager' but I think there are a number of other managers, just google them and find out which is best suited for you.
I have the [ROM][EXCA][WWE][* 3VOLUTION SERIES *][WM6.5 STD 23017][Build 3VO.2.50.080809] Rom and there's a shortcut to applications thing.
I'm wondering where several .exe files are located at. I tried using the Resco file explorer and searching .exe files, but some files didn't show up such as:
Opera.exe
Alarm.exe [if there is one]
RescoFileExplorer.exe
i tried using the .lnk shortcuts but it didn't work =p
Help is appreciated, please and thank you :]
Show ROM files hidden files etc in Resco Explorer options............. & please respect the rules no double posting.
