HP iPAQ hx4700 and Crossbow

Hi there,
Since Crossbow is running perfectly on my Universal, I wanted to give another model a try, so anyone ever succeeded in having the iPAQ hx4700 running Crossbow?
I know it might be a bit dangerous, but I already tried to put the hx4700 in the bootloader and to flash a HTC Universal Crossbow ROM.
It actually starts upgrading, but after a few %'s the screen turns blank and with a soft reset the device will restart.
Something to forget or is there a way?

i m currently doing some rom cooking for my 4700...
working out the wm6!

Is this a ROM for the hx4700?
If it isn't this is no new leaked ROM. It's one of the first WM6 ROM's for the HTC Universal. Many other have already been released after this one.

but i m trying to do sth with it
hope u guys will develop a great rom for his GrEAT device too
however i m improving the speed of wm5
like editing paging pool and removing some rubbish
added some wm6 rings into the rom and stuff.

Any progress made on a Crossbow ROM for hx4700?

I'm really interested on some new ROM for the hx4700. It has not been beaten yet in terms of speed and screen size! Why not WM6 on it??

I already found a few ROM's, but i'm hoping too, that the hx4700 community will pick this up as well as the HTC one ...

I havent heard anything as of yet hoepfully there will be a WM6 ROM Soon on the HX4700.

A Modded WM5 version

I hope somebody does get a WM6 rom working for the hx4700. It's time for a step up from the unstable modded WM5s with a pretty WM6 theme.

where are the files which must be translated

I've followed the translation of the B&B v4.3 ROM a little bit and as far as I can remember it took about 3-4 weeks, starting with a team of more than 10 people, ending up with about 2-3 (?). It's not easy at all if you haven't done that before. Does any of you guys how to create a package, edit the ROM registry or can you even rebuild a ROM?
If not I'd recommend you not to make such a big fuss about that whole thing. Take the ROM builder from ppc-welt.de that DeepToneFN created. It's based on the German T-Mobile ROM and you can integrate packages in case you have any.
If you really translate the ROM there will be lots of bugs and people will ask you questions about it for weeks. If you have the gutts to do that we'll be happy to see this nice ROM in German!

But i think we have a right to create a thread of interested guys?
Otherwise it looks like the days before 1989....
If nobody is interested in this,
I think nobody will read it and - just forget it...
But if there grows a greater interest, it could be a start of a knowing team.
Maybe somebody wants to join or support such a team. Why shouldn't we give them a platform to do that?

It works perfect for me in German Language and it is WM6.0
Now i run the "RUU_Excalibur_SPL-1.11_UpgradeOnly.exe" Rom ...all ok!
Is here anywhere the HTC WM6.1 Rom to find ?
In my System Info i see only WM6.0 !

Nope M3D wont work no 3D driver
but M2D work though

manila 2d not work on my zinc
i try to put manila 2d on my zinc,
but itsn't work....
just the notation :

then nothing happend...

which manila that u use?
the only one can work is in the manila 2D thread version 19 only

Q: Can i go back to WM5,6 or 6.1... ?
A: Yes, you can always go back to any of your previous Rom, procedure is simple, just flash your PDAL to any Rom of your choice.
Q: Can i install this WM6.5 Rom on my Qtek, Wizard, etc... ?
A: No, this Rom is only for PDAL, you can not flash your device with this Rom.
Q: Why i can not use internet on my PDAL while i am connected to ActiveSync... ?
A: It's not Rom related issue, It's an option in your desktop ActiveSync application, to fix this go to your ActiveSync's Connection Settings and change "This computer is connected to:" >> "The Internet".
Q: This Rom is very slow and I have a low program memory, can it be fixed ?
A: WM6.5 is still in beta state, there are a lot of known issues with the software, utilities, applications, patches made for WM5/6, so ask Mr. Bill for that.
Q: How can i thank you for all of your creations / hard work to make our PDAL a real PDA for us ?
A: Don't say just "Thank you", "I am very thankful", "You are the best" etc., Donate me as much as you can.

No, it is for I-Mate PDAL. Different PDAs have different keyboards, hardware (so need different drivers) and keyboards so it won't work on all PDAs.

Your 1st question has already been answered, I prefer WM6.1, because wm6.5 is new and has some known compatibility issues with some software, people are exploring it and still discovering cons and pros of WM6.5...
